Steak was a great medium rare as requested and I was able to have some A1 sauce per request. Lastly, the Budweiser surprisingly went really well with The Hangover. Very smooth. The whole experience at Bay Local was great! I've always heard so much about it, but didn't actually get a chance to go until Sunday. I'm not sure if it's the same during the week, but there was definitely a wait on Sunday. It was fairly nice outside and during brunch hours so that may be a factor as well. While you wait, you can order drinks if you'd like. The restaurant is very cute and has a comfortable feel. All of the food was great. The Big Al is really good, fresh gravy and a flaky biscuit. Inside is vibrant but not too loud, great spot to hit brunch with friends. They have boozy brunch cocktails, and really good Benedict's. The staff is attentive, service was wonderful, and the cuisine was delicious. I had the Cold Salmon Beanies, Grits and a jumbo Mimosa. The Beanies was delicious..a take of Lox Bagel with poach egg on top with a delicious hollandaise sauce prepared to perfection. The hollandaise sauce was not cold ..bonus!! Somehow this was my 1st time here and I loved it! We showed up at a perfect time on a Sunday morning and we were sat right away. It quickly filled up. It's not a quiet place for brunch. They play good music and it is loud. I loved it but if that is not for you then I would pick a different place. The service was excellent! I wish I got our servers name but I did not. We ordered the lettuce wraps with shrimp. We did share and they were delicious! Everything about it was perfect.....except...I wish they had put on a 4th piece of lettuce since 2 of us were sharing. It would not have cost much and would have been that extra touch that goes a long way. No extra shrimp or anything else....just lettuce for a 4th wrap. We weren't going to get anything else but then we saw the mac and cheese and had to get some. Holy cheese! They did not skimp. It was the perfect amount for a side and very very very cheesy. Delicious. They had great specials and lots of choices on the menu. It was tough to decide. Be warned that they do add 18% gratuity even for small parties of 2. Ordered the FC BLT's, they came out really fast. The chicken was a bit thin and did not offer a lot of flavor to the mix, it was the bacon that was the star of the show. The French fries were great, hot and fresh with a sprinkle of Old Bay. The potato salad was only ok, a bit too much dill. We stopped by this place for my birthday lunch on a Saturday after kayaking at the nearby state park. We were happy to sit outside! As always, they were very busy. Parking is sort of difficult and takes some ingenuity. The service was fast and they were adequately staffed with several folks helping and playing their part to ensure efficient service. This restaurant is a well-oiled machine and it shows! I chose to share a waffle with my partner which was the perfect fluffiness. As always in seafood places, I ordered a crab cake sandwich. I can tell that the crab was fresh and there wasn't too much filler. Fries were great, crispy on the outside, soft inside. Can't complain! My partner ordered the biscuits and gravy dish. Alright, the hype is real! Came for Mimosa Monday and left so happy! There was no wait when we came around 12:30/1:00 and were seated in the back room, which seemed newer. It was much brighter and less crowded than the main dining room. Our server was awesome and kept our mimosas coming, as requested. For $3 a pop, why wouldn't that be plan? We got the "Banging Balls" as an appetizer and they were so good. Cheesy, flavorful and had the perfect crab flavor. Highly recommend! I also got the "Just Right" entree, which I also recommend. It is their play on Shrimp and Grits and they do a great job. I also added the scallops, for an additional $3, but there only seemed to be one scallop. The fried biscuit that was served with it was fantastic. My only complaint was that they threw the plastic butter and honey directly into the dish, which was unappealing and gross. Based on the reviews, I had high expectations. I'd say go without expectations and it'll be a better experience. I love local places and we just moved here about a month ago. Things I loved: I got the sorbet mimosa. I haven't had one before, this was excellent. Simple but love it! Plain old hot coffee was great! My friend ordered the French toast and it was great! Our server was excellent and food came out quick. Things that were average: The temp of the food. I love going to restaurants for hot food. Sadly, the food tasted as if it was pre-cooked but not refreshed before plating and serving. The bacon had good flavor but wasn't hot. My home fries were warm but not fresh. I ordered the Crabcake Bennie. It was also average. Not hot. I loved the French bread part of it. The crab cakes are good for the price, there's more filling than I prefer but based on the price, they're good and properly priced. My poached eggs were very different from each other. One was runny (and my preference) and the other was not runny at all and almost hard. The home fries have green peppers and onions with it but to me when it's been sitting a while or overcooked, it made everything taste like green peppers. All in all, it was good. I would go if I really wanted a fun alcohol drink with breakfast/brunch. I wouldn't seek it out for it's food though. Although, I haven't tried many breakfast places in the area. I gave 4 stars because the menu option are better than average. I'd give 3 stars on the delivery of it but it could have just been an off morning. read more

This place came recommended by by teammate Sophia who used to work here when she was going through college. I knew it was a good sign when we had to park blocks away as the place was packed...! We invited a partner supplier to join us and all had one amazing brunch! The inside is stellar with scroll stamped tin panels lining the roof and an assortment of colorful chandeliers and stained glass in wood. The walls are adorned with local fishermen from the past holding their catch or in the act of catching the fish. The service was amazing and they stopped by our table often to ensure we had everything we needed. We shared some bay Parmesan spinach crab dip with toasted pita slices. I watch my partner eat their meal while mine was being remade. Then I quickly ate my meal with my partner waited/watched me eat. A very annoying and uncomfortable experience. I choked down the current meal because it was slightly warm, I was hungry and I didn't want a repeat of waiting for a replacement. I can't believe this is a coincidence...same early morning/first to arrive customers, one year apart visits, nearly the same meals ordered and the breakfast food was cold again. All I can determine is my breakfast meal gets prepared first and sits on the counter getting cold while the sandwich is made. Even my plate was cold. I love everything about this place. The food is delicious, the wait staff are tremendous, and the ambiance is so chill yet also inviting. They even have a small clothing bouquet. I am from Philadelphia and have been to many different restaurants in other states. I can confidently say this is my favorite restaurant thus far. The aioli matched the wrap well and cut down the oil from the fried oysters. The cold-smoked salmon Benedict was good also with the hollandais sauce balanced and the Parmesan garlic tots to die for. Lastly, the key lime pie was on the upper scale of the better slices that we have had. Service: the service crew was really friendly, and was always at the table at the right time we needed anything. 6/29/2021: We got here early (note: new opening time of 8am, not 7) for the Early Bird specials (now served between 8-9 am) and they did not disappoint. I opted for the Lesner and my husband chose the Cheddar Bacon Omelet. Food was fantastic as usual despite the wrong "bread side" (toast instead of fried biscuit). Coffee was really good and most welcomed this early! Service was a little off, with coffee sitting empty a bit and waiting for the "bread side" to be addressed. Perhaps our server was overwhelmed or still just a little sleepy, but it's a team effort at the BLE so no worries. This was not enough to keep us away. The CB omelet was packed full of bacon and the cheese grits were on point according to my husband. My Lesner was perfect: the kitchen nailed the over easy eggs (as always!!) and seasoned the home fries well. The butterflied sausage link was tasty and the waffle light and fluffy. Breakfast was under $20; a great value in a great spot. We'll be back soon! P.S. Mimosas are on special on Tuesday ($4), but we were too busy caffeinated to partake. ;-) read more
