This had been on my places to try. Hubs and I came in after church. Located in a shopping plaza so there is plenty of parking available. Upon walking in we were greeted and taken away by the wonderful smell. It was later in the day so the bagels I wanted to try were already out. I ordered a 6 pack: matcha (2), plain, cinnamon crunch and everything (2). I also got a tub of cream cheese. We headed home and I couldn't wait to try my bagel. Of course the matcha was MINE. they didn't slice the bagels which I thought was odd since I wasn't asked at the shop either. Ok, no big deal. I sliced my own and slathered it with cream cheese. The cream cheese is really creamy and more on the salty side. Which I wasn't expecting. The matcha bagel had that wonderful matcha flavor that I love but mixed with the cream cheese just didn't do it for me. Ended up mixing some apple butter on top of my cream cheese and it made it much better. The cinnamon bagel didn't have much cinnamon flavor to me. I thought everything was ok but nothing rave worthy.

The Basics: Baygulls Bakery is a new bagel shop in the Town N Country area. We were thrilled to try this spot. It is clean inside and there are so many great flavors of bagels to choose from. There is limited seating inside with a small counter. We tried the Cheddar Everything Smoked Salmon bagel sandwich, the seasonal Pumpkin Spice Bagel, Red Pepper Asiago, Matcha Bagel, and the Egg Everything Bagel. We enjoyed the Red Pepper Asiago bagel, it is very flavorful but it is a spicy bagel so note that if you order! The Matcha bagel was also good and the right consistency. These were creative and different bagel flavors, which was nice. The Egg Everything bagel was also solid and the perfect consistency for a NY style bagel. The Cheddar Everything Smoked Salmon bagel sandwich was good, but it was not cut in half and had a ton of cream cheese on it which was extremely overpowering to the flavor of the bagel sandwich and made it extremely difficult to eat and enjoy. I would ask for much less cream cheese on this bagel sandwich next time. The consistency of the Pumpkin Spice bagel was totally different than the other bagels we tried and unfortunately we did not finish it. It was a very dense bagel and was not sweet at all, which was a bit surprising. I wished this was on par with the other bagels we tried. I would not order this bagel again. Overall, I hope Baygulls Bakery is successful in the area and we will return. The Pumpkin Spice bagel was disappointing, but everything else was good!!

    Lots of unique flavors.

The bagels were delish and the breakfast sandwiches were also yummy. I wish you could point out the bagels that you want when you are placing your order instead of standing at the register away from the bagels. I know, seems petty but not to me. The staff was friendly and attentive. All in all I liked the food especially my breakfast bagel.

Great new (and much needed!) bagel spot on Hillsborough Avenue. Excellent, easy to find location with plenty of parking and plenty of room inside to accommodate lines! Love the layout inside, you get a clear view of not only the menu items, but also of the team putting together orders, pouring coffee and making bagels. Watched the engaged and friendly owner out front training an employee personally, very impressive. The menu is extensive but simple to absorb, lot of excellent bagel options along a variety of cream cheese flavors and espresso / coffee. Clean, friendly and fast - just the way you want a bagel shop to be. We tried a variety of bagels, excellent flavor and perfectly done; and honestly it was literally too big for me to finish! Give this place a try ASAP.

The place is very cute but I don't know if their bagels are any good. I can tell you they made a mistake with our order they're very happy to apologize for it but won't correct the problem. We made an order for a dozen bagels they omitted 1/2 the order. I realized it as I got to my car. My fiancé went back in. They said that they only charged for a 1/2 dozen (read that this way - more expensive than any bagel shop I've ever been to) so my fiancé said fine I'll pay for another 1/2 dozen but in the 3 minutes that took they only had 3 of the flavor we wanted so he said fine we'll take those for which he wanted $9.75. So his admitted mistake would cost us even more since there is a small price break when you buy 1/2 or whole dozen. We won't be going back. The owners response is inaccurate. He called the customer who first called him an asshole; an asshole. Most of my reviews have been quite positive and numerous. As a Yelp Elite I feel a responsibility to be accurate and measured. We all have possible improvements to make. Look me up you will see that. In this case even the owners immediate response shows his attitude. I reiterate expensive bagels need more than I'm sorry without a real attempt at resolution.

I was really excited to try this place but unfortunately it was a miss for me. Still giving 2 stars because the employees were so kind and helpful. And I also loved how many different and unique bagels they offer! I ordered a bacon egg and cheese on an egg bagel sandwich. I specified asked for a medium over egg, so that when I bite into it, the yolk would be runny (which I have had in the past at other bagel shops). However when I went to eat the bagel, all I saw was egg whites, and I was like wait where's the yolk? Then I realized that the yolk had already exploded and was soaking the bottom of the parchment paper, which made the bagel soggy/wet and very difficult to eat. I ended up just giving up and not finishing it, I also didn't like that the yellow cheese wasn't even soft/melted at all. I think I would've had a better experience just getting one of the unique flavored bagel with cream cheese. I'm open to giving this place a second chance but unfortunately it didn't meet my bagel sandwich expectations.

After trying out Baygulls during a pop-up and now that they're officially open, I can confidently say how happy I am to have them in the area! Offered in a variety of delicious flavors and schemers - you can tell the bagels are fresh. The menu offers the usuals, fun flavors, breakfast sandwiches, and coffees - hot and cold. The store is nice and clean, love how they redid the space. The owner is extremely kind and clearly passionate about what he's doing. We will be back again and again!

Wonderful choices for bagels and sandwiches. Coffee not bad either. The service was fast and friendly. Bagels fresh! Clean bright shop!

I could eat a different bagel from here every day. Showed up right when they opened and had the best everything bagel with sausage egg and cheese. The owner personally made my bagel and you can tell he genuinely cares.

This cozy little shop is located in Carrollwood Village... a huge housing development, that somehow-innearly 36 years of living here-I had never been to until now. But missing a turn, led to some exploring and then, some bageling! New York Bagel and Bean is in a plaza at the corner of South Village and West Village. The joint was jumping when I was there at 11am on a Wednesday. It was difficult to find a parking spot, but so worth it. The shop is very homey and welcoming-with several tables and homespun decor. The owner (or manager) was very friendly and helpful. I felt truly appreciated. I felt bad I was only ordering one bagel. It was big and the perfect texture. And then... came the honey butter. Honey butter, people! It's happening! This was not a drill! It was delicious! Decadent, yes-but the perfect accompaniment. I may be in love! Should I move to Carrollwood Village just to be closer? From the moment you walk in, you're welcomed with a warm hello and a big smile that makes you feel like more than just another customer. I love that they have premade recipes so you don't have to make up your own bagel and mannnnn do they hit! They offer a punch card! idk about y'all but I LOVE A PUNCH CARD! 2. There is a dog park attached to the patio so even if you don't bring your pup with you, there is plenty of cutie pie entertainment while you eat. Not only are the bagels incredible, but the matcha is bangin! My wife and I always get the lavender matcha and it has never missed. For the best experience, I'd recommend to go early and to sit outside. Because the line gets long, it's gets a bit cumbersome to eat inside PLUSSSS not only do you get pup entertainment but since they're in Ybor, you get free chicken entertainment. Who doesn't love a good nature scene when eating the best bagel you've ever had. One last great thing about Pete's is that they have bike parking and plenty of it. The only downside honestly is the service. I had to explain multiple times how I wanted the sandwich made with the toppings side by side and the person taking the order just wasn't really understanding what I was asking for. Even after explaining it again, it still wasn't clicking, which was frustrating. I've noticed this pretty much every time we come here. The staff never really seems approachable or friendly and the customer service could definitely improve, especially when tips are being requested. A smile and better communication would honestly make such a huge difference because the food is genuinely great. We also tried the matcha latte for the first time, and unfortunately it wasn't good at all. Maybe it's new, but it definitely needs some improvement. Overall, we still love coming here because the food keeps us coming back, but the service has consistently been lacking. Realistically the service is probably a 3, but because we love the place and the food so much, I'll still give it a 4.

I most recently took my sister here for the first time while we were visiting for a concert and she loved it, too! We started with iced baklava lattes and the greek donuts (loukoumades) drizzled with honey and this was actually my first time have these here. They're served hot and fresh -- absolutely delicious! When I want something light for breakfast, my go-to is the Everything but the Bagel yogurt bowl (house cured wild caught salmon, cucumber, pickled red onion, tomato, crispy capers, & everything seasoning). It's such a fresh gorgeous bowl, packed with protein. I also love their extra thick cut bacon on the side. My sis got the strapatsada which is a breakfast classic on their menu (greek scramble with caramelized onion, roasted cherry tomato, creamy feta, & grilled baguette). It's a very generous portion and she had a good amount leftover to take home. Of course, you can't leave without a few pastries for the road! They are a bakery-first concept and all of their breads and baked goods are made in-house. We got the baklava coffee cake and brioche bread pudding muffin to-go. Psomi never disappoints!

I ordered the shredded chicken salad, and to be fair, the chicken was absolutely delicious. My issue was that it was served over a basic mixed greens salad with very few extras, and paying around $30 for it felt excessive. The loukoumades (Greek donuts) were also delicious, but again, the portion was surprisingly small for about $16. One thing that also frustrates me is that they seem to be out of many of their bakery items first thing in the morning. They do warn customers about this, but it seems to happen consistently, which is disappointing when you're visiting a bakery and hoping for the full selection. The outdoor seating also wasn't the most enjoyable. It was quite loud, the seating wasn't especially comfortable, and there were a lot of flies, which made it difficult to relax and enjoy the meal. Overall, the food tasted good, but the value just isn't there for me. I don't mind paying premium prices when the portions, experience, or atmosphere justify it, but I left feeling like I paid far more than what I received.
