I must say, Bazille came in for the win. I didn't have the slightest clue that there was even a restaurant upstairs in Nordstroms, but it was a delightful surprise! When entering in the restaurant, it was nicely lit, and the atmosphere seemed warm, relaxing and inviting. My friend and I made our way to the bar, and were greeted promptly by Laurel, our bartender. She grabbed two menus and made a recommendation for a cocktail she had created, which we ordered. We were invited to join a table with two other great guys, Desmond and Dan, and Laurel was great at bringing our drinks out quickly to the table. Upon sitting down, the 4 course meals began. The first course was a french onion soup, which smelled divine, and tasted just as divine as the aroma! The cheese melted just right and all the flavors were just amazing! Second course was a kale and baby spinach salad, followed by a heirloom tomato burrata salad with a balsamic vinaigrette. I must say, I am not a huge fan of tomatoes, but this was good. All the flavors were spot on. The final course was a seared chicken breast with kale, brussel sprouts, grapes and almonds in an orange butter. The chicken I was disappointed in because it was dry, however, the toppings on the chicken were great. The reason for a 5 star is because the atmosphere, the service, and the company made for a great time. The wine didn't hurt either! ; ) We will definitely be back to enjoy. read more

This review is solely based on my experience at a recent Yelp Elite event. First, I want to note finding Bazille was harder than expected because a restaurant right inside of Nordstrom's is just not expected. Anyhow, the night started off great with french onion soup, which was quite delicious, 2 lemonades (very sweet) & a water. Next, we moved on to the Kale & Manchego Salad w/ a cucumber & basil cocktail. It was quite refreshing w/a little hit at the end. I decided to pass on the Heirloom Tomato & Buratta seeing as I was quite over drinking water & just watching servers serve everyone else cocktails. Lastly, the seared chicken breast was tough & dry. Overall, I think they should have showcased their best dishes, lobster mac n cheese for example to excite our palates & give us a better experience but I digress. Now let's get to what I found quite unfortunate. During my tables time we were legit ignored. Now with a new restaurant you would assume they are just adjusting to big crowds. However, we spoke to multiple staff members including the managers in regards to not receiving any cocktails. They reassured us they would bring them out to us. Ironically, the staff would come out with cocktails look at us then walk right past us. Seems like we became the "do not serve" table. Ultimately, after going beyond the staff AGAIN they finally decided to bring us cocktails at the very end w/the biggest smiles (sarcasm). Nice ambiance but terrible service. Stopped for lunch on a slow day and very few customers. We were there hour and half. Waiter was very inattentive and slow to respond. Do not get the French onion soup. It is "the best part of the soup" which means no soup and just croutons and cheese. Disgusting! Didn't realize when ordered. The Cesar salad was just ok. Lettuce looked a little wilted. Their pizzas are very good. But no way should it take that long to get the little food we got. This is second time this has happened so it's not just a one off. Went in for my second visit today because I love love love the Crab Bisque and because it is cold outside today. Like last time the Crab Bisque did not disappoint. I wanted something light so I went with the Cilantro Lime Chicken Tacos which were pretty good. I ended my visit with the White Chocolate Bread Pudding. The first time I came in I ordered the Handmade Gnocchi with Lamb Ragu which was different than anything I've ever had therefore I couldn't finish it because I couldn't get past the flavor of the Ragu but the Gnocchi was fabulous. So I tried the Korean BBQ Braised Beef with had great flavor but the beef was extremely tough. It was so tough that I couldn't fully enjoy it but I finished it and decided against dessert that day because of all the work I put in to eat the Korean Beef. The White Chocolate Bread Pudding with White Chocolate and Raspberry Sauce was a very pretty dish but it tasted ok because the bread pudding was so dense that it was very dry in certain areas which is why the sauce is a great addition to the dish. Honestly I've had better bread pudding in my own kitchen so I won't be ordering it again. I gave this restaurant a three star because of the service. My last visit the service was lack luster and today's visit was worse until a server named Michael came to save the day! I love that this restaurant because it is inside of one of my favorite department stores near my home and I can grab some some of that wonderful Crab Bisque anytime I want! As for the rest of the menu I say try it at least once but the two dishes I had were a bust for me and hopefully when I go back for that delicious Bisque I'll be brave enough to try other dishes. read more

On my first visit to Bazille, I had The Caesar salad with shrimp. It was fantastic! My husband loved his salad, as well. The service was good, and Brett was very warm and friendly. On our second visit, I tried the pan seared chicken. It was very flavorful but extremely dry. I would not order it again. My husband had the lamb ragu with gnocchi. He didn't really care for it. It lacked flavor and was nothing special. We did try the lamb meatballs. They were very tasty. I didn't like that they were breaded, but they were good. Living in Down Town Chicago, I assumed that every single Nordstrom's had a bar/restaurant/cafe, but I was told that this mall has been here for at least 10 years, yet there was no restaurant or cafe inside this Nordstrom's. The interior design/décor and surrounding colors play a big role for my enjoyment and this place is relaxing yet chic and modern. The bar area looks comfortable for both solo drinkers and for a small group. They hand craft some amazing cocktails and have a nice selection of wines. Lighting helps create an atmosphere for each table, I scoped out the entire place prior to being seated and I noticed that each table near the bar had its own light above each table. We arrived for dinner at 6pm, and the lighting was just right and the entire restaurant along with other elements created a very pleasant environment. The service both from host/waitress and management was up to snuff. They synchronized quite well which made our dining experience pleasant and smooth. I really enjoyed the Lobster Mac and Cheese, especially because the cheese does not mask the taste of the lobster and the portions are generous. My favorite dish was the Crab Bisque, creamy and simply tasty! I also enjoyed the Billionaire hand crafted cocktail. We will definitely be back both for shopping and to try new items on the menu. read more

The staff and ambience are great, but I'm sorry, I have yet to be amazed by the food here. I ordered to go on two different occasions. The first time, I got the crab bisque and was entirely underwhelmed. It was really more of a tomato bisque with crab flavor. I did not find one chunk of crabmeat. The second time, I ordered the fries after the staff raved about them while I was waiting on my first to go order. I honestly did not like the flavor at all, and these are the type of fries you have to immediately eat fresh out the oil or they start having the stale fry consistency. My coworker and I came by the restaurant to relive the night that we had recently at Bazille. I ordered the Kale & Manchego Salad and a cup of the Chicken Tortilla soup. The Soup hit the spot because it was raining and dreary outside. I needed that warmth to warm me up. I have wanted this Salad since I had it the first time and it lived up to my expectations. It was a much larger portion and I should have added some sort of protein to it to give me a little more substance but it was still a good salad for lunch. I wanted to order the Bread Pudding but I had to restrain myself because it was lunch time and not the right time for me to try it. Came here on a Monday night and it was a tad hard to find because I didn't know it was inside North Park. Had to google and read details on yelp to figure it out. Beautiful open and calm layout for a date night. The servers are very friendly and knowledgeable of the drink menu. I forgot the name of this drink but this was tasty wasn't too strong on alcohol. The food that we had was good, not much of a wow factor. I do respect that the menu items are natural, healthy, and organic. Which is a plus because what we eat dictates our health. Anyways, off topic. I plan on coming back for the flat breads :) Overall, good experience because of the venue and staff! read more

Stopped by here while we shopped to have a snack and drink. The food was good but the service was terrible. We ordered 3 drinks and a beer and fries. The fries came out right away but it took 30 min to get our drinks. We had to eat out fries with nothing to drink. I got up to ask the bartender how much longer because we noticed others who showed up after us were being served before us and she seemed annoyed but was about to bring them out. After that she was uninterested in giving any type of service. Really sucks because our first experience here was amazing, it's a bummer that the service isn't consistent. read more

Upon entering Bazille, I was delighted to see a wonderful restaurant environment with a fantastic menu. I had never heard of, or seen Bazille, but to my delight, this place rocks. The staff is friendly and attentive, I'm big on service and they seem to follow the Nordstrom service strategy. I've always been aware that the customer focus at Nordstrom played a great role in the reputation and success of the retail giant, I was glad to see this service carry itself to Bazille. Service is and will always be the key difference maker. The food here is incredible. I find it to be a foodies dream! I started with French Onion Soup. After the first bite, I knew I was in for something wonderful. It was delicious to the last drop. I will always have the soup! It's that good! The soup had Gruyere and Provolone cheese and the taste was explosive. Next I had a Kale and Manchego Salad with Apples and dried Cranberries. There were pumpkin seeds as well which complemented the Vinaigrette dressing perfectly. I've grown to love Kale and I was impressed at how well the Kale meshed with the Apples and Cranberries. Now imagine this. Heirloom Tomato and Buratta. Buratta is fresh Italian buffalo milk cheese made from mozzarella and cream. Add this to Grilled Sourdough Croutons and Balsamic Reduction Basil and you have perfection. I had to stop myself from asking for seconds. My entree was the Seared Chicken Breast with Lacinato Kale, marinated Grapes and Toasted Almonds. The chicken was tasty and the Orange Butter was a perfect complement. To add better to awesome, I must mention they have a full bar with an awesome wine list. The drinks are spectacular, and they have an awesome selection of wine if you choose to follow the grape. We started with a Meomi Pinot Noir then moved to the Erath Pinot Noir. Both were wonderful. My family spends lots of time at the mall and my wife is a big fan of Nordstrom. Now that I know Bazille is here, I will bring my family to Bazille often to get away from the crowded food court and enjoy a nice conversation over a great meal. I cannot begin to explain how excited I am that we have a place like this in the mall, what a wonderful addition to an already great store. Bravo Nordstrom and Bravo Bazille. read more

Guys do NOT skim over this review. And if you're looking to try this place out, do it! I was extremely skeptical of eating here but we were already in Nordstrom so we went for it. It's only been open a week but once word gets out on how good it is it'll be packed all the time. Let's start this out by saying husband is from the PNW and is a seafood snob. 5/5 lobster bisque - perfect flavor, perfect temperature, and included bits of lobster which is a lovely (and unexpected) surprise considering Texas is not known for good seafood. 5/5 scallops - cooked perfectly. Seared right, but easily cut with a fork (!!!). Melts in your mouth. Best seared scallops we've had in the metroplex. 5/5 calamari - lightly breaded, cooked at the right temperature. Most calamari around here tends to end up rubbery with too much breading but these were on point. I liked the sweet chili dipping sauce but husband said the lemongrass element threw it off. But he said the calamari didn't need any sauce anyway! 5/5 service - our server Keith was super attentive, friendly, and thoughtful. My family and I have been obsessed with Bazille for many years now. I remember celebrating my 20th birthday at the Northpark location 11 years ago! This restaurant is consistently great. The service is top notch. The location couldn't be better - it's literally inside of Nordstrom! Some our notable favorite dishes are the Kung pao brussel sprouts with chicken sausage, the crab bisque, the cilantro lime shrimp salad, the salmon Niçoise salad, and fish and chips! They have a great happy hour too! I love this place. My husband and I went today for lunch and really enjoyed pulling our laptops out and working after we ate. The wifi was pretty fast! I was so surprised to see this new eatery. It has been awhile since I've been to this Nordstrom's. I will just say YUM yum yum. My daughter and I just loved our experience here. I had the Crab, Avocado & Mango Salad with extra Crab. OMG hands down the best salad I've ever had. There was a little mix up with them not putting my dressing on the side. Our server was quick to have the mistake corrected and my meal back to me in just a few minutes. My mouth is watering writing this review "I want another one" my daughters cheese burger and seasoned fries I also So so Delicious. Neither of us are fans of thick burgers so she wasn't able to eat most of it I got the jackpot and got to have half of it. The flavor was So amazing I didn't even care about how thick it was. Overall I can't wait to return. Returned for a third time. To have lunch with my Fiancé. I have to say I don't think anything that comes out of the kitchen is bad. Hopefully one day I'll have had enough of the Crab salad and Burger so that I can try something else..... Another Update. My girlfriend and I decided to dine here for our monthly meet-up. We were both very excited as this was her first time dining here and my second. We both ordered the Crab,Mango and Avocado salad. Since the salad cost 17.50, we thought we would have a large portion. Wrong! The salad appeared to be a side salad. Honestly, it was just okay. I asked the manager was this the lunch portion with lunch prices and he said no, its the same for lunch and dinner. She and I looked at each other in disbelief. We immediately flagged our waiter down to order a cup of soup to go along with our salad. Customer service was good, the ambiance was nice but the size of the salad and taste was disappointing. Full disclosure: I got to to go to a Yelp elite event with my friend and got a free four course meal along with quite a few cocktails. I'll try my best to keep this review unbiased This is an upscale restaurant inside Nordstroms. Honestly it felt strange being in the bowels of a department store and took away from the ambiance that the restaurant would of otherwise had. Emersion in the dinning experience is quickly lost when having to walk through racks of clothes to get bathroom. The first course was a textbook french onion soup. It was good, and probably my favorite part of the meal. The second course was kale salad. It was sweet and provided an interesting flavor combination, much better than expected. Unfortunately the last 2 courses weren't great. The tomato burratta was a unremarkable dish and the seared chicken dish, while having good flavor was very dry on the inside. The cocktails served through the meal were excellent, and another highlight of my dinning experience. Overall I am left a little confused by this restaurant's concept. It seems too upscale to just drop in for a quick bite, but not strong enough to justify the trek through Nordstroms. The food is definitely passable and the wait staff was extremely professional. Overall I had a fun dinning experience, but some of the qurks about this place are hard to get over. read more

While the food and drinks have been excellent every time I've been here, what really stuck out to me is the customer service. Walter (the bartender) found a bag I left at the bar the previous day. Him and the manager (I unfortunately didn't catch his name) went above and beyond to get it back to me. I'm beyond grateful! My favorite local restaurant that reminds me of good times dining at the Bazille back home in Torrance, CA. The cilantro lime chicken tacos are tasty, but messy. With each bite, the hard-shell tortilla cracks and the filling spills out. A good option if you want to eat light. The maple bacon deviled eggs were so good. Recommend by our server, Robert, and he was right on. Also a good option if you don't have a big appetite. The chicken pot pie soup of the day is one of my favorites, and I have many favorites here. You are missing the best high end food at food court prices. The steak is amazing for you meat lovers they use the same cut of meat as Del Frisco/Perry's Steak house. It is on the second floor of Nordstrom Stonebriar all you do is take the elevator up and turn left I promise you will not be disappointed. The chef is a famous but a low key guy his name is Miquel Pimentel. He prepares dishes from scratch that are healthy, innovative and beyond delicious. Nordstrom which is a magnificent company for over 40 years allows their chefs the ability to be empowered to create sensational dishes and they are very supportive unlike so many other companies who don't care.
