I love bbq chicken and this location did not disappoint. The interior is hip and clean. They don't have many tables (maybe 5?) so I'm assuming most of their business is takeout based. Got their 8 piece crispy spicy wings and ddukboki. The wings were a decent size and had a great crunch to it. The ddukboki is on the more watery side, which I didn't mind since the flavor was still there and it had a nice kick of spice to it. We ordered the large soy garlic boneless (24 pieces for $39.99), medium spicy original (16 pieces for $27.99), and rose ddeok-bokki ($13.99). Boneless pieces are almost the same size as the wings. So much flavor bursting in every bite. Chicken is juicy, tender, and so crispy! The accompanied pickled radish helps break up the flavors of the sweetness from the soy garlic really well. I went to the soft opening of this fast, casual restaurant located off the 57 in a busy center with lots of parking. I opted for take out but they had seating for about 30 inside. The employees were eager and friendly. I ordered the Kimchi fried rice ($12.99). Half and Half secret sauce & original boneless chicken ($27.99), and rose Ddeok-bokki ($13.99). The chicken was crunchy outside, moist inside and a big hit. Rose DDeok-Bokki was creamy with a little spicy kick. Unfortunately the kimchi fried rice was over cooked. Mainly because they forgot I was in the restaurant waiting for my order. The food sat for awhile until I inquired about my order. A few minor hiccups but I will be back. read more

I placed a pickup order a little after 12 PM on Super Bowl Sunday and confirmed the scheduled pickup time. Before my daughter left home to pick up the order, we checked the estimated time again. However, when she arrived at the store, she was told she would have to wait an additional 40 minutes. Upon hearing this news at home, I called the store 9 times, but no one answered--the calls kept going to voicemail. While I understand it was a busy day due to the Super Bowl, I cannot help but feel deeply disappointed by the lack of preparation and the terrible customer service. In contrast, American franchises have well-established systems in place. My delivery from one was only about 5 minutes late, and their tracking app worked so well that even the slight delay did not cause any communication issues. I don't know what problems BBQ Chicken Brea location was experiencing, but they should have stopped accepting orders if they couldn't handle them. Instead, they continued taking orders without recognizing their internal shortcomings, which made yesterday truly regrettable. This week, I had an issue with the app. I could not login and everyone was playing stupid with regard to fixes. I called in my order and waited 25 min. When the survey arrives, I complain but am unable to submit because the "terms and conditions" do not have a valid link. My issues are not with the food or dozens of times I have frequented the local franchises. The app promises rewards and avoiding wait times. BUT IT DOESN'T WORK AND NO ONE WANTS TO FIX IT. Until this last experience I've always enjoyed their customer service and quality of their chicken. Ordered over the weekend, to my surprise, their chicken smelled absolutely rank. Horrible. As if it were fried in month-old oil. It was inedible. I bought it around 5pm but didn't get to have dinner until around 11pm. Obviously too late to go back to the store. Requested a refund that night over their website and was denied. They basically stole from me. I cannot in good conscience ever give them my business again. If you ever buy from them be sure to taste it immediately or be subject to the same treatment I was subjected to. Fortunately, they're definitely not the only korean fried chicken in the area.
