Excellent place for BBQ! The vegan BBQ label is fairly unusual, but if you're looking for great pulled pork this is the place to go! Large portions with lots of meat and very reasonable prices. If you have dietary restrictions (gluten, dairy, vegan) this is one of the few BBQ places that is prepared for you. Very accommodating servers who know the ingredients of all the dishes and can easily make substitutions. Overall highly recommended-we went twice during a weekend trip. read more

This restaurant is absolutely worth my first Yelp review! Upon visiting Boise, my husband and I found this gem of a BBQ joint. Being from the South, and eating BBQ all across the South, we weren't sure what we'd find to compare, but we're so glad we tried BBQ4Life. It is some of the best, if not the best, BBQ we've ever had! The pulled pork was my personal favorite, and my husband loved the ribs. Their vegan offerings are delicious as well. I had the vegan mac and cheese and we shared the chocolate cake. I get that ribs take a long time to cook but customers should be warned ahead of time if the product is going to be sub standard. 2 stars because my kids enjoyed the board gam. Response to yours. We came here for the vegan BBQ. We got the veg foot - tempeh, Mac and cheese (vegan) on Hawaiian bread. Really good! The spicy coleslaw, country beans and cornbread were also delicious. Housemade BBQ sauce was great on the sandwich. It is described as chocolate raspberry, didn't really taste those flavors (which is ok by me). The tempeh is a heartier choice that the usual BBQ tofu I've had at other places. We were happy to find some filling veggie food. Nice indoor BBQ style of atmosphere, good service. My boyfriend and I have always been huge fans of this place. The food is incredible! Just make sure you get the right waitress.... We are both gluten/dairy free, and live that they have options to pick and choose so that it best fits our dietary restrictions. Yesterday, my boyfriend became very, very sick because the waitress did not listen to his specific order. I love this place, and I understand that not everyone understands every food allergy or restriction...just warning future patrons to be VERY CLEAR WHEN ORDERING. I have been here a couple of times and the food is excellent! I love BBQ and I have to eat gluten-free so this place was perfect. It's not easy finding a place that caters to everyone, let alone has great food. The service was great too. In fact I signed up with Yelp just so I could write this review. The tri tip and pulled pork... amazing! I haven't had the ribs but I hear they are incredible. This last time I had my birthday dinner there. They let us decorate and they even made me a gluten-free vegan cake that was delicious. If you are looking for a outstanding meal at a low cost BBQ4Life is the place to go. From the moment we walked in to the second we left staff was super friendly, my pulled pork was super juicy with just enough sauce that it didn't over power the meat. I searched the web for the best BBQ in Boise and this one got great reviews, a real let down. I ordered my food to go and it was barely warm when I got it home (5 minute drive). The mac n cheese was cold in the middle. Ordered the meat sampler which did not come with any BBQ sauce there was no flavor and very little smoke flavor and the meat was just mediocre, the pulled pork was dry. Every thing feels like it was cooked hours ago and that is why it is not hot. Both black bean chili and regular country beans were luke warm When I saw it was vegan I thought there would be more healthy choices not just meat free choices.
