Small shop, but quite great food. Love the fact that they pay attention to environment sustainability. All their packaging are compostable. The food itself, they're good enough for the price point. You get a lot of portion. The yakisoba is just meh though, so, you'd probably best getting just rice, or some stir fry veggies (my favorite). We stopped here last night for a quick dinner. This is basically Chipotle but for teriyaki. You walk up and you pick the sides you want, then if you want regular or spicy chicken and then what sauce. Everything is premade and you just go down the line like you would at Chipotle. Was it the best? No but for fast food teriyaki I really had no complaints. $9 I got a very full meal (they aren't skimping over here) and I like the different side options. I just got spicy chicken teriyaki with steamed broccoli and their veggie stir fry. I was quite content and would come back again if I was looking for fast food teriyaki on the go. Quick service, this place reminds me of a chipotle for teriyaki. You can choose three base items (like rice, broccoli, noodles) and then choice of meat and what sauce. I chose rice and broccoli with chicken and both spicy and regular sauce. For like $10 it fed both my sister and I! The portions here and massive and worth the $10 + tax that they charge. The food was flavorful and filling, it doesn't get 5 stars because it made my stomach hurt. I don't know what it was because I enjoyed my meal - ate it all, maybes that why? LOL. Unpretentious spot to grab a quick, questionably healthy, and tasty lunch. I was going to go to Chipotle until I saw this and I'm so glad I changed plans! It's Chipotle-style, albeit with less customization, but I loaded up on veggies for the ~health~ and got spicy chicken teriyaki with both sauce options. The portions are HUGE and lasted me through two meals for $10. Sadly, the broccoli wasn't seasoned at all and the cabbage didn't hold onto the sauce of the teriyaki as well as rice would have. Perhaps it's because of food delivery, the portion was really small comparing to what I saw in other reviews. The chicken and the rice were okay, but not so much the veggies or yakisoba. The veggies were unseasoned, which was fine with me, but I got a lot of big chunks of (bokchoy?) stem. One piece was even bitter and slimy (eww) when I bit into it so I had to spit it out. As for the yakisoba, it didn't seem fresh at all and had no flavor either. I ended up throwing away the veggies and yakisoba... I wouldn't recommend getting food delivered from this place. BB's Teriyaki lets you, for a fixed price, pick your choice of sides (white or brown rice, yakisoba, salad, coleslaw), in addition to your protein. I had the spicy chicken teriyaki with white rice, salad, and yakisoba. My first thought was "whoa this is a ton of food for under $10". However, my excitement was significantly dulled when I took a closer look at the contents and realized that my food was roughly 75% overcooked rice by mass. The chicken itself was scant, and of medium quality. Fast casual teriyaki is an intriguing idea, but unfortunately for BB's, the execution isn't quite there yet. read more

The service set up, like others have mentioned, is akin to the ever popular and suddenly extremely fashionable Chipotle lunch line style service (without the stereotypical tray that comes along with a lunch line). It's clean and hip (in some senses), it's mostly brown with colorful chairs (how many different places have these same chairs/stools in different colors?), and the service is friendly. Unfortunately, even though the restaurant itself is clean and the service is nice, the food does not live up to the standard of teriyaki I've come to enjoy elsewhere. I ordered the spicy chicken teriyaki with brown rice, a side of yakisoba, and their vegetable stir fry. The sauce used wasn't spicy (I added lots of sriracha) and the sauce itself was sparse and lacked flavor. The chicken itself was a bit tough, and the brown rice was a little hard. I really liked the simple menu and "Chipotle-style" serving. I was able to pick and choose what I wanted and was even able to do half/half of regular chicken and spicy chicken and ordered sides of vegetable stir fry and broccoli. I was happy with the portion size and enjoyed the meal, but like others have said, the chicken was a little on the dry side because it is not drenched in heavy teriyaki sauce like at other teriyaki restaurants. I was craving noodles and I love teriyaki so this was a dream come true in that moment. Unfortunately, BB's completely screwed my order. When I opened the box I was instantly disappointed to see that even though I ordered extra meat all I got was a half order of chicken that was dry, partly shredded, and hard. It honestly looked and tasted like it was leftovers from the night before and scraped from the bottom of a bin. Not only that but the order was lukewarm at best, even cold in some areas - kind of like when you microwave leftovers and it doesn't heat evenly. It's hard to believe this place let the order go out in that condition because I would never serve any of my customers food like that. Not only did they forget the extra meat but I also didn't get the Gyozas I ordered. They missed this order on so many levels it truly feels as if they really didn't care if customers enjoyed their food. It's teriyaki, grilled chicken over rice. A classic combo I've been eating on the Ave for a decade. This place is clean, hip, with style elements from Chipotle and Cali Burger up the street. Everything is compostable, super green. Here is where BB's really stands out: the menu is tiny. Like a food truck, they just make teriyaki. Do 1 thing and do it well. A welcome and simple addition in a sea of chicken over rice with infinite combinations. They've only been open a few days, and food is very solid. Hopefully they get fast to handle the long lines of hungry undergrads during school! I wonder if they'll put extra sauce in bottles on the counter, for sauce lovers? They used to have compostable packaging, but today it was plastic . The vegetables aren't seasoned (palate cleanser??). The yakisoba is a little greasy and salty, sometimes a little overcooked and soft. The chicken itself is dry so it tastes best doused in that spicy sauce (aka do not get the "regular" chicken). Don't get me wrong, it's not a classy or perfect meal. But it's not meant to be! It's one of the easiest fast foods in ID (takes like two minutes start to end) and a real bang for your buck. I've definitely had better teriyaki elsewhere and the sides were soooo bad. The yakisoba tasted as though it had been sitting for hours and the noodles were fused together from being so dry. The "stir fry" was just steamed cabbage that had no flavor whatsoever. I ended up throwing out most of the food cause it was so unpleasant to eat. The portions here are pretty good, definitely enough for 2 servings, I got full really fast. It was probably because I drank too much soda, but the food was also really good. I got the regular and spicy sauce, but the spicy sauce isn't really noticeable, I couldn't tell the difference between the regular sauce and the spicy sauce. Everything else though was worth it. I recently moved to WA and have been exploring lots of places to eat. Where i moved from, we didn't really have places like this. I really appreciated how easy the menu was. The food came out incredibly tasty, i got the stir fried veggies, mixed green salad, yakisoba (that's the tasty looking noodles you see in all the photos), spicy teriyaki sauce, and spicy chicken. I got an order of gyoza as well. Everything tasted great and the staff was very friendly.
