I've eaten here once a long time ago so I'm glad that it tastes just as good as before. I thoroughly enjoyed my spicy Seafood Soon Tofu which had two shrimps, several clams, and one mussel. Lots of flavor and perfect with the various sides and piping hot rice. My company ordered the Dumpling Soon Tofu and a side of Beef Galbi which had great flavor. BCD Tofu House is one of our favorite places to get Korean food in SoCal! The staff is always friendly and helpful and make sure to come by to check on us during our meal. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The restaurant is family-friendly and able to accommodate groups, as well.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] They also have holiday specials (there was a sign for a Mother's Day special), and a lunch special during the week! Lived in the area for 10yrs+ and this place has become incredibly special to me. Been coming here since I was in high school. I've observed and experienced the service worsening year after year. It's unbearable now. The floor staff is made up of a bunch of mean Korean grandma's that stand around and gossip so much so, it gets in the way of the much needed efficiency that's required to operate a restaurant of this kind. Today, 3/27/2026 around 4:30, I was sat at a table right away. There were a few other two tops and a solo diners, but the restaurant wasn't busy at all. I sat for 15min. No water, no greeting. Two additional tables were sat, one table's order was taken immediately. Still, no one came to me with even a greeting. The staff gives preferential treatment to Korean patrons. I am a black male and I realize a lot of Koreans are racist, especially the older generation. Terrible, this sort of thing still happens in 2026. What a terrible experience. There were years when I'd come to BCD 3/4 times a week. Never again. I'll drive to K-town or just wait till I'm in NYC where the BCD is much more authentic and the service never misses. Torrance BCD IS ABSOLUTE TRASH. Do not go if you're not Korean! read more

This was my first time at this BCD location, and I had an overall wonderful dinner here. The galbi combo comes with a small tofu soup, and it was the perfect amount of food for 2 people who are semi-hungry. The banchan (side dishes) are refillable and simple yet full of flavor. They accompany the galbi and tofu soup so well, and taste just as delicious with a bowl of rice. Would highly recommend anyone to come here for delicious Korean food!! read more

As a TRUE KOREAN myself, BCD is somewhere I eat twice a week especially this location! My favorite sever is Sunny! Shes the best. She's always friendly and her service is 10/10!!! We love her and look forward seeing her. Their Ban Chan (side dishes) are always fresh and depending what they have I loveeee eating it. Especially their traditional ones I grew up eating from my mom. My personal favorite of their side dishes is their kimchi, spicy cucumber, squid, shredded seaweed (they have it sometimes), and potato salads are my faves! They bring refills around too. My go to order that always hits the spot is combo #1 Galbi and ham and sausage (spicy) combo. Their seafood pancake is good as well. Ask for them to make it crispy! I also recommend their hot stone beef bibimbap if you're not into their tofu soup. They'll ask you for hot tea or water I get the hot tea (barely tea) It's always really busy here in a good way because it's good. When you don't see other fellow Koreans (natives) in the establishment, you know the food isn't good but here you will always see traditional Koreans here as well. Hope this helps enjoy! read more

Highly recommend this place. Shortly after going over to this place, my partner and I fell in love with the food and staff's hospitality. The restaurant is always clean and there's about 20+ tables and the wait times are typically short. On a Saturday night, just expect about 30min of wait time. The moment you get seated, they bring you side dishes including the pickled cucumber and kimchi, with a small fish. The galbi dish with spicy beef soup is sensational! They serve it hot in a cast iron and you can hear it sizzle!! We always see the same staff working hard throughout the floor. Our favorite person is Sunny and she's very helpful. read more

Many of our friends raved about CBD tofu for the longest time and we finally decided to give it a try while looking for a place for lunch in a cool fall Saturday morning. Located in the eastern end of Torrance, it is a standalone building with plenty of parking spaces. The servers were very nice and we got seated right away. The menu is shown on the paper placemat on each seating and it was very easy to understand. All orders come with small complementary side dishes plus their signature salted small fried fish. I ordered non-spicy seafood tofu. It was ready in about 15 minutes and the bowl was boiling hot which is perfect to cook the complementary raw egg. The tofu had a very nice texture (firm but smooth) and the seafood were fresh. The soup broth was on the light side but not bland. The rice was served in a stone pot which kept it warm throughout the meal (one suggestion, the slightly burnt part of the rice at the bottom of the pot can be added to your soup, it is quite unique and tasty). The complementary side dishes were great, kimchi was well seasoned and not overly spicy, the small fish was tasty, but my personal favorite was potato salad (yes, potato salad!) Overall, a great meal and for sure we will stop by again soon. read more

When this place is empty, the service is amazing. However, when it is crowded, the service leaves for more to be desired. Gaya operates on a skeleton staff. While it has great service for mild to moderate amount of customers, it struggles beyond that. Regardless, this place is solid and we always come back and tip the service. The food and atmosphere compensates for the busy hours.

As an avid patron of BCD Tofu House Torrance for many years, it pains me to compose a negative critique of this establishment. However, the decline in the quality of their services over the last couple of years compels me to do so. While I do not intend to judge the quality of their food, I must express that their service has become increasingly unacceptable. Despite having given them the benefit of the doubt on numerous occasions, I have decided that today's experience was the final straw. Upon entering the premises, a Hispanic server glanced over and made eye contact with me, only to ignore me completely for reasons I cannot begin to comprehend. I was disoriented, as she neither greeted me nor informed the other staff of my arrival. It took several minutes for another staff member to notice and guide me to my table. Subsequently, the chopstick that was given to me had a dried piece of food on it. Gross, but I was okay with it. Things happen. I simply requested to replace them with a clean pair. To my astonishment, the same Hispanic lady took my chopsticks and then never returned. I waited until my food arrived to inform the server of the situation and requested a replacement once again. However, she provided me with a disposable wooden chopstick instead of the metal one I was initially given, which was rather peculiar. To add insult to injury, the rice I was served had a dirty piece of cloth and some unidentifiable black dots in it. This was promptly addressed when I brought it to the attention of the staff. I later learned that the table behind me had a similar experience just moments before, and yet, the staff failed to inspect the food before serving it to me. Not to mention that this is a violation of health codes, but why would you not check the next food before serving it? Although a Korean lady, who I presumed to be a supervisor of sorts, began checking on my table and the one behind me after the incident, her gesture was insufficient to change my mind about the deteriorating state of the restaurant. Regrettably, I have concluded that BCD Tofu House has experienced a significant decline in both service and quality control, particularly in their services. As such, I will not be returning to the establishment until further notice. read more

I've never posted a yelp review before, but my auntie took me to this place and she loves it so much she asked me to relay her thoughts here: ----------------- Coming to the BCD Tofu is like going to your sister's home; it's very homely and you feel very welcome to eat there. Servers like Sun, Monica, Park (and some others that we didn't catch the names of) are always friendly and accommodating during every visit. She loves that they refill the side dishes frequently, and the quality of the food is always great. My Uncle likes to order the Yellow Corvina (a fried fish dish) and it's always crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. Perfect! They also accidentally gave us a larger bowl of soondubu and didn't charge extra so that was a plus. We told them they could charge extra but they insisted that they wouldn't. I eat here a lot with my husband since it's pretty hearty and moderately priced. In addition, for some reason, everytime I eat tofu, I think I'm eating healthy....whether it really is or not. Anyway, for dinner, we had one combination of mild seafood soup and kalbi. The kalbi meat is was really fat and only included a few peices which were a dissapointment, but the tofu soup really made up for it. I just love oysters in the soup for some reason.....at least if it comes from a boiling stew, I won't get sick right. I ordered the mondu dumpling soup which is consistently good. I really like how the dumpling has just a little bit of meat to keep me satisfied. As for their side dishes, their fried fish is excellent!!! I have always been a big fan of Sundubu. Every time I eat Sundubu I must have Galbi with it because it satisfies my hunger. I really felt eating like a man at BCD Tofu House. Have been to various Bcd tofu in Cali; however, this location my first time. When I arrived, I was greeted promptly with a smile and seated right away. The restaurant was quite busy being a Wednesday night. Could notice they offered free drink by doing check-in with yelp app. I had the pork Sundubu medium spicy with the Galbi combo. All the side dishes were fresh and seasoned perfectly. The pork sundubu was very flavorful and had the right amount of spice. The Galbi was cooked and seasoned to the perfection. I've been a regular customer at BCD Tofu House, but my latest visit was a letdown. Unfortunately, the customer service has taken a turn for the worse. This was my second time experiencing poor service, and I'm sad to say that it's a decline from my previous visits. Despite giving them another chance, the service was even worse than before. It's disappointing to see a restaurant I once enjoyed fall short in this area. The staff seemed unfriendly, unresponsive, and disorganized, which made the experience even more frustrating. Every time I come here I leave happy and full -- the soondubu is just chef's kiss as always And the service?? SO good. Shoutout to what I think is a new manager -- super friendly and kept checking on us throughout the whole meal to make sure we had everything we needed. Honestly felt so taken care of! The food was just amazing! You won't stay careless when you try just believe me. It was very tasty for sure. I ordered a couple of tofu soups but beef soon tofu was really good and it was a bit spicy than I expected but it was like that spiciness had its own taste somehow so I liked it for sure. Maybe you'd like to ask why there are only 4 stars so there was a small misunderstanding when I came to grab my take out order. First they gave me the wrong order and so it caused a delay to get the right one. Luckily I wasn't in hurry so it wasn't so critical. Anyway, food was awesome. read more

We haven't been here for a while, and last minute my son wanted to go have their soontofu and galbi combo. I think we were the last customers before closing, but the food and the service was above expectations. Not like other places, their galbi from the combo set was excellent. Plenty and lots of meats on the bones. We also got to see how they clean the floor. They use steaming hot water with little bit of cleaning fluid so it didn't bother us even though we were trying to finish up our meal while they started to clean. We will be back often to enjoy. read more

I recently had the bulgogi at BCD Tofu House, and I was really impressed. The bulgogi was cooked to perfection with a great balance of flavors. The marinated beef was nicely tender, with a nice, smoky flavor. The accompanying vegetables added a nice texture and aroma to the dish. Whenever I am craving soon tofu soup, I always find myself coming to BCD tofu house in Torrance! The quality and the taste of the food are always good and consistant. The banchan they serve is so great especially the fish! Don't remember the name of the fish though but was good considering it was free. Restaurant itself was very clean and the service is great! We ordered their tofu salad and Kimchi pancake for appetizers, tofu salad was bland and hardly had 4 pieces of tofu but kimchi pancake was good! Also tried their tofu bowl which came with rice and few other salads, it was really good! Enjoyed their hot bowl of tofu soup. Vegetarians, ask for a vegan broth as they have beef broth usually. I really enjoyed the tofu soup, served boiling hot in a clay pot that resembles a cast iron pot, the aroma alone as it passed me by is heavenly. The side dishes are plentiful and truly a feast for your eyes. We had an amazing experience at BCD Tofu House! The food was absolutely delicious, and the service was beyond amazing. Sunny was our waiter and she was wonderful--she kept checking in on us to make sure we were satisfied and happy throughout our meal. We've previously tried their cold noodles, galbi, hot stone bimbimbap, tofu soup and seafood pancake. All are pretty good but the cold noodle is our favorite. This time we ordered their fishcake kimbap and the cold noodle and galbi combo. I previously saw photos of their kimbap but didn't see it on their menu until now so I was excited to try it. It comes with 20-24 pieces and a side of soup, quite a lot actually for one person. The kimbap was as expected, it was flavorful, had a slight crunch (from the pickled radish) and didn't fall apart easily while eating. It comes with a dipping sauce but it wasn't particularly noteworthy and I didn't feel it is required to use. The cold noodles were a bit different this time but overall had the same flavor. It comes with half an egg, pickled vegetables, slices of cucumber, and slices of meat in an icy broth with buckwheat noodles. Be sure to add the mustard and vinegar for added flavor. The side of galbi was as expected, but doesn't arrive sizzling like at many other Korean restaurants. The flavor can vary, sometimes more flavorful than other times but overall it still pairs well with the cold noodle. Service can be a bit spotty, especially when they only have one server doing everything. It can be hard to flag someone down so be prepared to sit around for a while if they have less staff and many customers. Overall not a dealbreaker but just something to be aware of.
