I love BCD Tofu House! Everything I've ever eaten there never fails to make my taste buds super happy. It gets really crowded some days, but when I'm craving this, I would definitely gladly wait. Parking is also a little harder.. but if you don't mind a quick walk.. driving more into the plaza provides more spaces. Anyway, can't wait for my next trip over! The food is delicious! I typically get the spicy kimchi beef soup but I've also tried some of their combo entrees too and everything has just been amazing! Super flavorful and the side dishes are also good!! Best kimchi I've had. The service is just as great! Everyone is sweet and welcoming and very attentive. As for the place itself, there's plenty of parking, the restaurant is clean and the vibes are friendly! Definitely recommend especially on a cold or rainy day for their tofu soup! read more

I've been here before and got my usual favorite dish, hot stone bowl bibimbap. On my latest visit, the hot stone bibimbap had so much rice and not much meat or veggies. It was a disappointment. I couldn't finish it. I also got the ham and sausage soup. The "sausage" looked and tasted just like American hot dogs. The side dishes were good and plentiful but the overall meal was a disappointment this time. read more

Shocking how busy this place is! They have really great banchans and tofu here! The gluten safe side dishes include the kimchi, bean sprouts and all the tofus. The fried fish, cucumber kimchi, and tofu skin are not gluten free. I wish they offered sea weed, too! The service is quite fast even when they are busy. A good spot if you're itching for good Korean food! read more

Service was excellent. The servers are quick, efficient and friendly. The banchan came out first. My fave is the small fried croaker. Then came the rice in the hot stone pot and the server scooped out the rice for us so she could pour the hot tea into pot. I wish the rice had more of a crust, but it was still very good. We ordered the soon tofu soup and the meats were a bit chewy, but the tofu was smooth and delicious. The soup comes boiling hot so the fresh egg cooks quickly. The servers come by often to give as much banchan we wanted. I loved the cucumber kimchi and had 3 dishes! They are so generous with the banchan. We had enough leftover rice and soup for another meal. Next time, I'm ordering the galbi combo that other patrons ordered since it looked so good. Can't wait to return. BCD is my fave Korean restaurant. Their hospitality is the best! read more

I've been coming here for over 8 years and the quality has been so consistent throughout. It's like a little taste of Korea right in the South Bay. We arrived at BCD Tofu House and it was packed at 6:30pm. We were able to grab a parking spot that was close to Del Taco. The manager greeted us right when we entered and we grabbed the table in the corner of the room. It was extremely busy with all the tables taken and not easy to converse with the noise level. We ordered C1 - Kalbi Combo, it includes an order of Kalbi and a small Soon Tofu with beef and medium spiciness. And S3 - Soon Tofu with seafood with medium spiciness. When ordering only Soon Tofu, then it is the regular size of Soon Tofu. If ordering a combo, then it will be a small size of the Soon Tofu. To me, the medium is the level of spiciness comparable to hot salsa and the hot is the level of spiciness to habanero salsa. If ordering the Soon Tofu, a raw egg will be given. Crack the egg into the boiling Soon Tofu and with a spoon bury the egg to the bottom of the pot so the egg will cook. The egg shell should be set aside to be thrown away. All dishes come with a small fried fish, rice in stone pot, and assorted ban chan (side dish). The fried fish is delicious with lots of little bones. Scoop the rice into a small metal bowl. There should be a thin layer of slightly crispy rice left inside of the stone pot that had rice, fill that stone pot with hot barley tea. After finishing the rice, then the scorched rice barley tea can be eaten with the refill of the ban chan (side dishes). We will come back again! read more

Where should I start? BCD is a staple in our family and has been for over two decades. This is my son's favorite restaurant for Korean barbecue. The flavor is amazing and the price is very fair. The portions are generous and the side dishes just keep coming at no extra charge. We always get amazing service and the side dishes never end just like you could judge an American restaurant by the bread that they serve at a Korean restaurant. The kimchi is the key and they had amazing cabbage and daikon kimchi not to mention the cucumber kimchi. If you've never had the raw spicy crab, this is the place to try it, and of course my son loves the soy bean noodles which is seasonal. My favorite is the seafood pancake. It is something special today. We went all out and we even ordered the jap chae that was really delicious. I'm old school so I got the intestine soft tofu spicy hot. I'm going to sleep well tonight. If you've never had their spicy pork, I highly recommend it. Out of all the Korean restaurants in Torrance this is my favorite try it. You'll fall in love and all the waitresses are super sweet and attentive. read more

As for the food, you have to try the signature dish: gobchang (intestines). For a medium, you get to choose three of four types: abomasum (stomach), tripe, large intestines, and small intestines. Additionally, you get side dishes, a choice of a stew (kimchi or fermented soybean), corn cheese, steamed egg, and salad. They cook the intestines for you before bringing it out to your table, so that it says warm as you eat. They stir fry the intestines with potatoes, onions, garlic and mushrooms. Absolutely delicious. We also ordered the beef tartare, since they had posters of it around the restaurant. The beef tartare is definitely in the top 3 of the ones I've tried around OC and SD. The cuts are thicker than normal and the seasoning is just right. They don't include a lot of ingredients like other places do, but it just hits better. It's within a plaza, so there is plenty of parking around the restaurant. I definitely want to come back for the intestines and the service. A++!

As an avid patron of BCD Tofu House Torrance for many years, it pains me to compose a negative critique of this establishment. However, the decline in the quality of their services over the last couple of years compels me to do so. While I do not intend to judge the quality of their food, I must express that their service has become increasingly unacceptable. Despite having given them the benefit of the doubt on numerous occasions, I have decided that today's experience was the final straw. Upon entering the premises, a Hispanic server glanced over and made eye contact with me, only to ignore me completely for reasons I cannot begin to comprehend. I was disoriented, as she neither greeted me nor informed the other staff of my arrival. It took several minutes for another staff member to notice and guide me to my table. Subsequently, the chopstick that was given to me had a dried piece of food on it. Gross, but I was okay with it. Things happen. I simply requested to replace them with a clean pair. To my astonishment, the same Hispanic lady took my chopsticks and then never returned. I waited until my food arrived to inform the server of the situation and requested a replacement once again. However, she provided me with a disposable wooden chopstick instead of the metal one I was initially given, which was rather peculiar. To add insult to injury, the rice I was served had a dirty piece of cloth and some unidentifiable black dots in it. This was promptly addressed when I brought it to the attention of the staff. I later learned that the table behind me had a similar experience just moments before, and yet, the staff failed to inspect the food before serving it to me. Not to mention that this is a violation of health codes, but why would you not check the next food before serving it? Although a Korean lady, who I presumed to be a supervisor of sorts, began checking on my table and the one behind me after the incident, her gesture was insufficient to change my mind about the deteriorating state of the restaurant. Regrettably, I have concluded that BCD Tofu House has experienced a significant decline in both service and quality control, particularly in their services. As such, I will not be returning to the establishment until further notice. read more

BCD Tofu House was a delightful stop for a satisfying Korean meal. We opted for a seafood soup, scallion seafood pancakes, and a tofu noodle dish appetizer - and each dish delivered! The seafood soup was packed with fresh ingredients and had a perfectly balanced broth, while the scallion pancakes were crispy and bursting with savory seafood flavor. I've never posted a yelp review before, but my auntie took me to this place and she loves it so much she asked me to relay her thoughts here: ----------------- Coming to the BCD Tofu is like going to your sister's home; it's very homely and you feel very welcome to eat there. Servers like Sun, Monica, Park (and some others that we didn't catch the names of) are always friendly and accommodating during every visit. She loves that they refill the side dishes frequently, and the quality of the food is always great. My Uncle likes to order the Yellow Corvina (a fried fish dish) and it's always crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. Perfect! They also accidentally gave us a larger bowl of soondubu and didn't charge extra so that was a plus. We told them they could charge extra but they insisted that they wouldn't. I eat here a lot with my husband since it's pretty hearty and moderately priced. In addition, for some reason, everytime I eat tofu, I think I'm eating healthy....whether it really is or not. Anyway, for dinner, we had one combination of mild seafood soup and kalbi. The kalbi meat is was really fat and only included a few peices which were a dissapointment, but the tofu soup really made up for it. I just love oysters in the soup for some reason.....at least if it comes from a boiling stew, I won't get sick right. I ordered the mondu dumpling soup which is consistently good. I really like how the dumpling has just a little bit of meat to keep me satisfied. As for their side dishes, their fried fish is excellent!!! Probably one of the best I've had.....other than that, the kimchi is so-so....but I guess I can't complain since the sides are complimentary. read more

I have always been a big fan of Sundubu. Every time I eat Sundubu I must have Galbi with it because it satisfies my hunger. I really felt eating like a man at BCD Tofu House. Have been to various Bcd tofu in Cali; however, this location my first time. When I arrived, I was greeted promptly with a smile and seated right away. The restaurant was quite busy being a Wednesday night. Could notice they offered free drink by doing check-in with yelp app. I had the pork Sundubu medium spicy with the Galbi combo. All the side dishes were fresh and seasoned perfectly. The pork sundubu was very flavorful and had the right amount of spice. The Galbi was cooked and seasoned to the perfection. I absolutely loved eating here because food was great and so were all the staff. I will definitely come back to try out other items. read more

I've been a regular customer at BCD Tofu House, but my latest visit was a letdown. Unfortunately, the customer service has taken a turn for the worse. This was my second time experiencing poor service, and I'm sad to say that it's a decline from my previous visits. Despite giving them another chance, the service was even worse than before. It's disappointing to see a restaurant I once enjoyed fall short in this area. The staff seemed unfriendly, unresponsive, and disorganized, which made the experience even more frustrating. I hope the management takes customer feedback seriously and makes necessary improvements. Until then, I'll have to reconsider my loyalty to this restaurant. read more

Soondubu craving? BCD all day, every time!! Okay but can we talk about how BCD never misses?? Every time I come here I leave happy and full -- the soondubu is just chef's kiss as always And the service?? SO good. Shoutout to what I think is a new manager -- super friendly and kept checking on us throughout the whole meal to make sure we had everything we needed. Honestly felt so taken care of! The food was just amazing! You won't stay careless when you try just believe me. It was very tasty for sure. I ordered a couple of tofu soups but beef soon tofu was really good and it was a bit spicy than I expected but it was like that spiciness had its own taste somehow so I liked it for sure. Maybe you'd like to ask why there are only 4 stars so there was a small misunderstanding when I came to grab my take out order. First they gave me the wrong order and so it caused a delay to get the right one. Luckily I wasn't in hurry so it wasn't so critical. Anyway, food was awesome. read more

We haven't been here for a while, and last minute my son wanted to go have their soontofu and galbi combo. I think we were the last customers before closing, but the food and the service was above expectations. Not like other places, their galbi from the combo set was excellent. Plenty and lots of meats on the bones. We also got to see how they clean the floor. They use steaming hot water with little bit of cleaning fluid so it didn't bother us even though we were trying to finish up our meal while they started to clean. We will be back often to enjoy. read more

I recently had the bulgogi at BCD Tofu House, and I was really impressed. The bulgogi was cooked to perfection with a great balance of flavors. The marinated beef was nicely tender, with a nice, smoky flavor. The accompanying vegetables added a nice texture and aroma to the dish. Whenever I am craving soon tofu soup, I always find myself coming to BCD tofu house in Torrance! The quality and the taste of the food are always good and consistant. The banchan they serve is so great especially the fish! Don't remember the name of the fish though but was good considering it was free. Restaurant itself was very clean and the service is great! This was started recently and I'm not so used to trying Korean food but I just thought to give it a try. We ordered their tofu salad and Kimchi pancake for appetizers, tofu salad was bland and hardly had 4 pieces of tofu but kimchi pancake was good! Also tried their tofu bowl which came with rice and few other salads, it was really good! Enjoyed their hot bowl of tofu soup. Vegetarians, ask for a vegan broth as they have beef broth usually. I really enjoyed the tofu soup, served boiling hot in a clay pot that resembles a cast iron pot, the aroma alone as it passed me by is heavenly. The side dishes are plentiful and truly a feast for your eyes. We ordered, BBQ Rib Soon Tofu Combi for only 13$ and other things we were interested in trying (note the power of pictures as that is how we ordered our feast! by pointing on the picture of the dish that looked good!). We had an amazing experience at BCD Tofu House! The food was absolutely delicious, and the service was beyond amazing. Sunny was our waiter and she was wonderful--she kept checking in on us to make sure we were satisfied and happy throughout our meal. It also seemed to include some new items, or at least ones that weren't printed out on the placemats. We've previously tried their cold noodles, galbi, hot stone bimbimbap, tofu soup and seafood pancake. All are pretty good but the cold noodle is our favorite. This time we ordered their fishcake kimbap and the cold noodle and galbi combo. I previously saw photos of their kimbap but didn't see it on their menu until now so I was excited to try it. It comes with 20-24 pieces and a side of soup, quite a lot actually for one person. The kimbap was as expected, it was flavorful, had a slight crunch (from the pickled radish) and didn't fall apart easily while eating. It comes with a dipping sauce but it wasn't particularly noteworthy and I didn't feel it is required to use. The cold noodles were a bit different this time but overall had the same flavor. It comes with half an egg, pickled vegetables, slices of cucumber, and slices of meat in an icy broth with buckwheat noodles. Be sure to add the mustard and vinegar for added flavor. The side of galbi was as expected, but doesn't arrive sizzling like at many other Korean restaurants. The flavor can vary, sometimes more flavorful than other times but overall it still pairs well with the cold noodle. Service can be a bit spotty, especially when they only have one server doing everything. It can be hard to flag someone down so be prepared to sit around for a while if they have less staff and many customers. Overall not a dealbreaker but just something to be aware of.

(Yes i know the fish is suppoaed to be frozen first.) I avoid AYCE sushi places mainly because it's a contradiction and this time because i had already eaten a late lunch. Regardless, i did order one roll ala carte. Service here is hit or miss and determines your dining experience. I can tell those around us had enthused servers. Ours seemed inexperienced or distracted. He checked on us after i had been waiting a while. I was able to see that the order was not done to begin with. He dropped off the plate carelessly and not at my place setting. This is actually a great value and you'll get your money's worth for growing boys with large appetites. I requestes the check and waoted again while our server prioritized other tasks. I Just got up to pay at this point. I wanted to like this place. It's not bad, but the experience was disappointing.
