First time trying Mi Luna because we were craving paella, and what a great find! The service was excellent, and our server made some fantastic recommendations. We ordered a variety of dishes, but the absolute standout was the Rabo de Toro a la Sevillana (braised oxtail with chickpeas). It was incredibly flavorful, fall apart tender, and easily the best dish. I'd come back just for that. I really wanted to love the paella since it was the main reason we visited, but unfortunately it didn't live up to expectations. The rice was overcooked, and while it may have been because the restaurant was very busy, it's such a signature dish that I was hoping for more. I mentioned it to our server, who was gracious, appreciated the feedback, and surprised us with a complimentary flourless chocolate cake. Normally I wouldn't order a flourless chocolate cake, but wow it was absolutely delicious. It was rich yet delicate, perfectly balanced, and not overly sweet or heavy. Overall, we had a wonderful date night and would definitely return. One recommendation: make a reservation and request indoor seating if possible. We sat outside and spent much of the evening shooing away mosquitoes and flies. Dining indoors would definitely make the experience even more enjoyable.

I rarely leave reviews, but Raymundo/Ray was FANTASTIC. He helped us out more than well after I decided to have dinner here for my birthday. Loved the food and alcoholic beverages, I got red wine but my cousins let me try their cocktails and it was yummy. We had their paella which wasn't bad either. Felt like I was in a romantic movie. 10/10 recommended.

Had a lil dinner hangout with some friends from my edc group at mi luna in Houston. It's located in a really nice area in the Montrose collective. Parking is pretty easy, there's a big garage that is pretty cheap, or you can park for free in the neighborhood. They have patio seating available if you wish to sit outdoors. This is a Spanish tapas restaurant, and their menu is very big it was pretty overwhelming to look at. Luckily for us, Richard locked in and ordered everything for us. If we were able to come a bit earlier we could've ordered during happy hour which has a lot of good discounts on their tapas What we ordered: - patatas bravas with chorizo - by far our fav dish of the night. The sauce is so so good. It's a must get, but I would pass on the chorizo next time - albondigas morunas - I enjoyed the lamb meatballs with cinnamon onions, couscous was good too - Plato de jamon Serrano - good app, love how you can customize it any way with the cheese, fruits, and olives - gambas al ajillo - shrimp in lemon garlic olive oil and red chili peppers, solid but not anything life changing or a must order - calamares a la plancha - grilled squid with roasted garlic and olive oil, very citrusy and unique - pemientos de padron - tasted just like air, really is just a Carrie for the lemon aioli which was really good - pescaditos Fritos - same as the pimento peppers. Came with harissa aioli and spicy tomato - sangria - we got some kind of jumbo size for a good deal. Good for sharing

We came on a Monday night when they were doing happy hour. We made a reservation but it wasn't too crowded. I started with the $5 frozen sangria which was delicious. We had about 6 different tapas plates from the happy hour menu. The prices were really good but you'll have to order a lot to get full which is expected with tapas. Every dish was so flavorful and unique, nothing disappointed! The service was great and the inside was super cute. Even the restroom area was nice with wallpaper and mirrors. Such a cute spot with amazing food!

I was told they have good Paella at this place and decided to visit. The restaurant has a very ambience. The food was OK. The Paella wasn't good to my own opinion but we like the seafood zarzuela. We also had the empanadas and they were good too. Service was nice. The only down side is parking is not free, you can either valet or paid parking garage close by the building. Roughly $6 per hour. Street parking is super limited.

Top notch experience from start to finish. We came for the brunch but ended up mostly ordering from the regular menu because we wanted true tapas style. Everything we ordered was fantastic! Some standouts for me were the patatas bravas, croquettes, garlic mushrooms, and carne skewer. Service by Aurelio was also fantastic and the bartender made a good Bloody Mary. The spot itself is large, bright and clean with lots of inside and outside seating. Parking can be an issue, but we did manage to find a spot on the street. The friends we went with are already making plans to return for flamenco, and we will hopefully do so also when we visit again.

The service? Exceptional. The quality? Good. The ambiance? Great. I would come back...just not try as adventurous options. This was our first time trying escargot, (pork?) tongue, and anchovies. We realized we are definitely NOT fans of anchovies. It is a delicacy but I will admit it was not something our palates enjoyed....at all. We ordered simpler fan-favorites to close our night, such as the beef empanadas and lamb with rice (no photos because at this point we were hungry for something familiar) and those options were excellent. We would come back just to try what's popular as I don't think we gave the restaurant a fair shot in ordering mostly dishes we had never tried!

It was a sad day when Mi Luna shut down in Rice Village back in 2018 after 20 years. This was a spot that many Houstonians frequented in the area quite often. They pronounced then they would be back. Well, it may have taken a bit longer than expected, but in October 2024, they reopened at this new location. Parking and Vibe The restaurants in the area offer valet parking and this establishment will validate that ticket. There's a garage nearby however I'm not certain they will validate garage parking. There's also selective street parking around the neighborhood if you are patient or arrive in the lower demand hours. The decor is great offering a Spanish and slight Mediterranean vibe. It feels upscale without being pretentious and the overall atmosphere is pretty relaxing. They offer both indoor and outdoor seating. I've yet to sit inside because it's been fantastic out the times we've been. I'd imagine the patio is a little quieter as well during the busiest hours. Food & Drink They were always know for their great tapas and particularly their vast Happy Hour menu. We've been a few times at this point and have tried pretty much the entire happy hour menu while augmenting a few main entrees in as well. A few of the groups favorites have been: Patatas Bravas, Croquettas De Patatas, Bomba De Queso, Albondigas Maroqui, all of the empanadas are great - the Beef Cheek Empanadas from the main menu is a go to for me, Toasta De Salmon Ahumado, the Gambias Al Ajillo is a must with some of the olive oil and bread. We've also had Paella Valenciana, which was great but a bit small. For drinks, there's a decent selection during HH such as the Clara beer. Mango Ahumado, Piña Loca, and my go to - the house sangría. I recommend getting a pitcher of it as it is plenty for a table of 4 while enjoying rounds of tapas. Service The service has always been top notch. The waiters are very knowledgeable about most of the dishes and will offer plenty of suggestions. They are circle around many times checking to make sure you are good or need to put more orders in or refill water glasses. They have food runners to make sure the dishes are coming out timely and there is staff that are consistently picking up empty plates. Pricing Overall, I subjectively find this place to be excellent value when with groups of friends. The tapas during happy hour are smaller but with plenty of options and a couple orders, you'll walk satisfied. I'd probably recommend one or two mains if you really have an appetite or a group of four or more. Overall Everyone we've brought has been very satisfied with the food, service, and pricing. It's nice to know that Mi Luna is back and hopefully here to stay for a long time!

I came for an early dinner with a friend. The tables were a bit cramped despite not being that busy. I'm not the biggest fan of tapas but they had some really tasty options. The happy hour specials aren't really specials as they are the same price as the regular Eni just broken into single servings. The snails were a standout and we asked for extra bread to enjoy the whole thing. The drinks weren't my favorite but I overall would return. Free valet with validation

My friend and I made an unexpected trip to Mi Luna Saturday and was happy with our visit! For our first visit, the menu was a bit intimidating but with the help of Yelp photos (:D) and our waitress's recommendations, we were able to pick a couple of great options. Everything was delicious and came out fresh.

Nice restaurant. The service was great. Very attentive crew. Tapas makes you want to order the entire thing. Just careful not to over order. The spicy potatoes were awesome. Calamari was light and not oily. Empanadas were a nice touch. And I'm a huge mussels fan so I'm biased. But mussels were great. Good experience overall if you never had tapas. This would be a great introduction to it.

Tried this place on a happy hour weekday! I love the whole ambience and decoration of the restaurant, it gives Barcelona vibes. I sat at the bar as I usually do for happy hours and tried the pan con tomate and that one had a huge portion of tomato so flavorful and fresh with olive oil and basil in top; wanted to get an extra but I had ordered more stuff so needed to leave some room in my belly. I also had the croquetas de pollo and the veal tongue (Ive had beef tongue before so I wasn't too scared to try this one) it was cooked to perfection; tongue meat can become too chewy and dry if you overcook but they did it perfectly so tasty and just the right consistency (10/10). I also had to try the sangria and the vino tinto, they're both similar as in that they use wine but I'm more of a Sangria lover. I need to come back to try the brunch the bartender told me about it and honestly sounds so yummy, he was super nice and attentive. I just had a couple of bites (tapas) but will definitely need to try the paella next time.

The lunch alone makes me want to come back to try their dinner menu. I got the filet mignon and it was cooked to perfection. It was buttery and was smooth. The filet mignon was just so easy to eat and I did get full off of the 6oz. The lychee martini was stunning too. It didn't have strong lychee flavors but subtle enough to enjoy the drink. The dessert was to die for it was like a creme brulee dessert wrapped up in fillo dough. Even at the end you get a small piece of chocolate and that was also delicious. The parking is rough and you most likely have to do valet parking which costs $8. The bartender was very friendly.

The bar is the first thing you see when you walk in. We got sat right away so I didn't get to see much of the place but you couldn't really walk around if you wanted to anyways. The ambience at the bar was nice and the staff were great. I did think there would be more decor around but I would describe the vibe as simple and modern. An improvement could be to have purse hooks. We were immediately given the HRW menu (which we were intentionally there for) but we weren't given a regular menu to see what food they offered normally which I was hoping to see. The menu I would say was well rounded with options to upgrade. They also gave us a slice of bread with oil and salt. I ordered the shrimp for my first course which was an upgrade. I will say this was the most bang for my buck. The serving came with a good helping of shrimp. My friend ordered the patatas bravas. Both orders tasted nice but I think I was hoping for something more with the potatoes. They also gave us the croquetas which were really yummy. My second course was the filet mignon. The steak was cooked to my liking and I felt was a decent serving size. It came with snap peas, pearl onions, and mashed potatoes. My friend got the duck. This was cooked well and was really tasty but there wasn't much with it besides the sauce. Final course was dessert. We got the lemon tart and the sponge cake. The lemon tart was probably the best thing I ate that night. The custard and the fruit really complement each other. The sponge cake was interesting since it was hollow inside with the cream being most of the dessert, it was good. They also gave us some dessert wine which was nice. Overall everything was really good and had no complaints but I do think because of how much people talk about this place and it being a Michelin star restaurant I was expecting to be blown away. My takeaway is that it was a good experience but probably just a one time thing.

For the main course we had the Beef Portuguese, a marinated beef cutlet with eggs and potatoes. Also, the Goan Fish Curry. Goa was a Portuguese colony so if you like Indian food, you will love this. The fish curry was our favorite. The deserts were also very good, but to be honest, we were pretty full by then. We also had an outstanding Portuguese Duro red wine with the meal. To sum up, great food, great service and a beautiful little restaurant. If you go to Oproto for lunch after RW they have an interesting looking lunch special they call the "Portuguese Power Lunch" that is a $30 fixed price meal. (Not available during Restaurant Weeks.) This is another one of those hidden gems since there are so many places in rice village. I highly recommend trying out El Meson for lunch as well as the lamb chops try and save room for desert sadly that was the only thing I wasn't able to try out the first time so looking forward to my next visit back there.

I made reservations through Resy for 9pm on a Saturday night…read more We got there and parked to the left of the restaurant, there was a man there collecting $7 for parking. Weird! We go in, and the hostess tells us that they close at 9:30pm. They shouldn't allow reservations to be made for 9, if they close 30 minutes after. We both ordered from the Houston restaurant week menu. We ordered Cesar salad, and bacalao. Both were delicious. For our main meal we ordered Sea Bass and paella. The sea bass was delicate and delicious. The paella was mushy and you could tell it had been sitting for hours. We finished off with rice pudding and flan. The flan was creamy with an amazing flavor. The rice pudding was one of the worst I've ever had. Our server was attentive and welcoming. This place was hit or miss. Not sure if I'd give it another chance.
