We actually found The Beach Cafe right here on Yelp. We love trying new places in the neighborhood and with great reviews already we knew that we had to make this a destination. My wife and I are breakfast people. In fact, though I don't eat much we would often get two entrees when it comes to breakfast so we can try a couple options before raking the rest home in a to-go container. We kept my simple though. She ordered French Toast with a side of bacon and I had the breakfast croissant which featured eggs, cheese, and bacon and served alongside a choice of breakfast potatoes or hash browns. I had the hash browns. The food quality was really good. The croissant was flaky and the overall plate was filling. The French Toast was great even without adding syrup to them, so when we poured a little on top anyway it was like a bonus. The Caramel Macchiato my wife had was pretty epic as well. Pricing was nice and affordable and the guest service was outstanding. Our server maintained a warm smile and was very knowledgeable about the food choices. I loved the decor in the shop. Made me think about how much I enjoyed my time on the beaches of Waikiki, even if it was just for breakfast. We'll definitely be taking a breakfast vacation with the Beach Cafe again soon. read more

Something has gone very wrong. I didn't get the food that's in the pictures or what I've had in the last year. I was terrible! I've ordered eggs Benedict a few time for delivery in the last year. There was a big change in quality this time. The potatoes were over cooke, I could barely cut through the English muffin and two fried eggs were hidden by flavorless Hollandaise sauce. It was nothing like the pictures or what I've had before. Long John silvers has better fish and chips. Aging nothing like the pics on yelp. I'm giving this place 4 stars because of Chrissy and the weekend crew. She's a great server-- so personable and kind to all! And, the kitchen staff is on it. Super fast, great portion sizes and the food comes out hot. I've only patroned Beach Cafe in the morning so I can only truly speak about the breakfast items, but their entire menu sounds good. I usually get the Big Island Scramble, but today, I asked Chrissy for a recommendation and did the Sunset witb spinach. It was fantastic and is definitely my new favorite. The coffee is freshly brewed, piping hot and is served in a deceiving mug-- it doesn't look as big as it really is! Something worth mentioning is that Chrissy only works weekends and I do notice a difference in service from both front and back of house. I stopped in on a Friday morning and everything started out great, but kind of went downhill after placing my order. I ordered a scramble (add spinach and avocado) and asked to sub fresh fruit for toast and assured our waitress I'd pay extra. I assumed nothing else would change, but I didn't recieve breakfast potatoes. No big deal, since my nephew had a giant side of waffle fries. There were like 4 spinach leaves in my scramble. After delivering our food and checking in once shortly after, we never saw her again until she eventually brought us our check. Super engrossed in conversation with the woman working with her, it felt like we would be an inconvenience if we broke their focus they had on their phones. I used to love this place when I was an omnivore mostly because being inside this cafe, feels like I'm back home in Cali or even vacationing somewhere in Hawaii. I absolutely love the decor, especially the swimsuits dangling from the ceiling! I had not been in for a while, since I am now plant based, but my friend was craving turkey bacon. I remembered that Beach Cafe has turkey bacon so I suggested we come here. We were greeted as soon as we walked in, and received amazing customer service throughout our meal. My friend ordered an omelet with a side of turkey bacon, and she loved every last bite. There isn't really anything vegan on the menu, so I asked the server if I could get the Veggie Scramble with hash browns instead of eggs and no cheese. I was almost expect a look of confusion or annoyance, but instead got a "sure thing!" This made me very pleased, but I was even more impressed when my meal turned out to be super delicious. He takes me to this super chill, unassuming little beachy diner for lunch and yes, it did have all the beach trimmings, even the boards and suits hanging all around. The menu was a step up from your typical diner fare though. There were sammies, plates, salad and a board with specials. Since it was brunch time and once I saw the main special, I knew I had to have it - the tamale omelette! You know i posted a pic of that bad boy too. So basically it was a chicken tamale chopped up in the omelette then covered in pepper jack. My friend got one of their sammies, but i didn't even pay much attention since mine was so damn tasty. The prices were quite reasonable too, especially since I'd been on the strip for about three days at this point. The eggs were smallish, the bacon overcooked and the toast was cold and hard. It was pretty obvious that the management runs this place based on what is convenience for them not what is best for the customer. I discovered this place while looking for a lunch spot near my work. If you're looking for a fancy schmancy cafe that serves tiny plates of unrecognizable food matter then this is not the place for you. I am a huge fan of breakfast for every meal of the day and got the breakfast sliders. Tiny Hawaiian bun sandwiches with eggs and sausage and cheese. And chunky home style potatoes cooked just right. I should know better and to read Yelp reviews first! I am in the habit of wanting to post positive reviews for a place, not negative ones. I ordered from here via Uber Eats because I had a busy work-from-home morning, and it was first on the list. I ordered the California Benedict and the French Toast. The latter was solid. The former, however, had one completely overcooked egg (including a photo) AND one poached (still a bit overcooked) but with eggshell! Now, I wasn't planning on posting at that point. Just wanted to call the restaurant and let them know about their mistake so they won't do it to someone else. Made the call, put on hold because busy. No problem. Told hostess who picked up who then got the manager. I tell her what I just told ya'll: overcooked eggs, eggshell. Manager (in dismissive tone): "We don't give refunds, go back to Uber Eats" Me: "Um, that's not even why I'm calling. I just want to let you know so it doesn't happen again. Maybe let the cook know?" Manager: "..." That was it! No taking of responsibility, no "I'm so sorry!" No "What can we do for you?" No offering of an action to take to do better next time. THAT is when I decided to write this. That kind of attitude is not conducive whatsoever. Mistakes happen. I can forgive that. Being dismissive when you are caught in a mistake in managing a business like this is problematic. Never again. I used to come here regularly because there was a nice waitress named Nicole. She left and probably for good reason because this place is trashy. I walk in there for coffee with my rescued 4 year old dog who can be a nervous wreck sometimes and the first thing you ask me is "DO YOU BEAT YOUR DOG???". I even called and asked if it was ok to bring her in for a little bit! Lady, you're an embarrassment to the industry and you all shouldn't even be working at a call center. My first order of course: coffee. It was fresh, no fancy gimmick, just classic. The overall result: sublime. Now, straight into the entreé: The Surf's Up Veggie Scramble. The eggs were fresh, smooth to chew along with yummy peppers blended with cheese, tomatoes, onions, mushrooms, all sauteed well within the eggs. The bread was perfectly toasted, the diced potatoes were cooked very well to the point that it's not hard but not too smooth to chew (Yes, I'm anal like that). The overall result: Seconds, please. I beg of you. Overall, the place was fantastic. I could stay there and have a relaxing read, or just stop by for a quick breakfast or brunch. They do delivery as well. Back door open no air curtian on so bugs can come in for entire visit. Small child working in kitchen see photo against labor laws and health code. Dirty condiment containers. I would recommend to order the brown gravy on the side. The nutella stuffed french toast was amazing. There was just the perfect amount of cinnamon. Worst customer service and experience I've ever had with delivery from any eatery. Ordered, 2 hours later our order arrives and it's complete trash. Cold food like it had been sitting for the entire 2 hours, whipped cream was literally separated and watery, french toast ice cold. The breakfast burritos? They sucked. After calling the restaurant they said they'd return my cash refund and of course never did. I wasted another hour of my time after waiting for their refund that the manager ROBIN said she'd return. NOPE. Today I call back after I've already left town and they're offering a 50% discount on my next order? That's different than when you said you'd return my cash that same day but NEVER actually showed up. Wasted a ton of my time, don't insult me too by offering your "50% discount". The waitress did not look happy at all to be serving us although she had only one other table besides ours. When my friend asked for cream for her coffee she gave her attitude & told her she was busy and would be with us as soon as she can. Back in the summer of 2010, my father-in-law suggested this place. He had read somewhere that Beach Café was one of the "best places to eat breakfast in Las Vegas." Ever since that first visit, we have become regulars who dine here at least once a month. When my husband and I lived in California, this would be our first stop after that 3-4 hour drive from Cali to Vegas. We used to drive in really early in the morning, so this place was perfect because it opened at 7am! I like the laid-back beach theme of the restaurant, with swimsuits hanging from the ceiling and surfboards on the walls. I was born and raised in Hawaii, so it really feels like home! It also makes you feel like you are enjoying a relaxing day at the beach! The food is pretty good. I'm not really a breakfast person, but I do like the Ed's Biscuits and Gravy. The sausage gravy is just right, not too sweet and not too salty. My only complaint is that the 4 biscuits they give you are kind of small. I just tried the South Shore Sliders the other day, and they were great! The perfect size with the right amount of French Fries and they are served on those yummy Hawaiian Sweet Rolls! My favorite thing on the menu is the Lava Flow Smoothie, which is a sweet mix of strawberries, bananas, coconut, and vanilla ice cream. Very delicious! Robyn always helps us. She is very nice and friendly! The other employees are great as well. If you sign up for their emails, they will send you coupons and let you know what their weekly specials are.
