Today I finally pulled the trigger on this review I've been contemplating writing.I visited the location on a Friday afternoon and I was greeted by a small young women.As I was ordering,she was having problems understanding my order.I explained myself a handful of times,first thing that came to mind was that she might be a new hire and I tried to be as sympathetic as I could. As our conversation continued her demeanor started to escalate.she keept getting upset and started to give me an attitude.Finaly she said she understood my order, she came back with my order and it was wrong, I told her I was missing food and she started to berate me and telling me I didn't order correctly and i didn't know how to be specific.I felt humiliated and enrage by the treatment I've received by this employe, but I continued being nice and got the rest of my food and thank her. I can say I will never be back, it's a shame because I enjoyed the food and love the horchata, but no food is worth more than my dignity and injust treatment I've receive there. read more

I haven't tried the food yet, only the lattes. I've been here twice and both times struck out. The first time the latte was very weak and tasted only of steamed milk. The second time it was oddly sour-tasting. I'd like to try the tacos sometime but I think I won't have any more coffee. Perhaps the coffee beans are old or poor quality or maybe someone accidentally boiled the milk. Update: The tortas are terrific here. I had the torta with barbacoa in it (barbecue sandwich). I will never again order the coffee but I had a really good experience with the food. It's not the quickest experience but the quality makes it worth the wait, for me. read more

Finally been waiting a very long time for somebody to open a restaurant that had very good tasting food. I don't think I could not say enough how fresh and tasty their food is, the tortillas taste like their homemade. I would and have recommended this place to many people , the food is just good, and the nice thing is you can take it home just by driving through, the owners are very nice people warm and friendly, it's nice to have people like that in this town.. so thank you for the awesome food read more

Just discovered Bean New Up. Like others I thought it was just a coffee place. A good friend suggested I try it and was glad he did. The street tacos and their burritos are fantastic. Their fresh, really tastes and great service. I would really suggest the place. read more

I came here because I saw all the excellent reviews on yelp. My experience was not so great. The people were pretty nice. However , I got street tacos - one carne asada and one carnitas. These tacos had absolutely no flavor , it tasted like I was eating cardboard . I never add salsa or things like that on my taco but I can always taste the seasoning and spices used. But these tacos were so bland. Then, the rice tasted like rice a roni from the dollar store. I'm not a good critic and I'm not trying to bash anyone's business but the rice was definitely not good either. I am so bummed because the location is great, prices are decent, people are friendly. But none of that matters if the food isn't great. read more

We tried this place on taco Tuesday and My family and I didn't like it. It's NOT authentic Mexican food. The carne asada burrito taste like a 7 layer burrito from Taco Bell and the tacos were just as bad. The rice tastes like rice-a-Roni. Its all missing the authentic flavors. The salsa isn't bad though. The wait is horrible. 15-20 mins for 2 burritos and a couple tacos. read more

This drive thru coffee and taco place is one of the best kept secrets in our small town of Tehachapi. Located right next to the best donuts I've ever had (Carlos' donuts), its worth a stop for either a breakfast burrito or some of the most delicious street tacos I've ever had! There is plenty more on their menu and I'll be back to try it all but for now that's all I've had. The carne asada was a fiesta in my mouth in the best way possible, and the chicken tacos were also equally mouth watering. The rice rocked my world in that it wasn't typical mexican rice, it seemed like it was basmati rice with a little bit of mexican flavoring, but not overpowering at all -- just ridiculously delicious. Topped it all off with cilantro, onions, and of course CHEESE!!! Oh how I love the crumbled Queso Oaxaca... these street tacos are the REAL DEAL folks!!! Drive over to Bean Me Up and order from the comforts of your car OR park and walk up to either window (one on each side) to order your next meal that will NOT disappoint. We also devoured their chips and salsa and my kids were big fans of their quesadillas. I truly cannot say enough good things about Bean Me Up! Additionally, if you are local to Tehachapi and looking for someone to cater a party, we used them and our experience was FANTASTIC!! I highly recommend their professional staff to set up, cook for you, and clean up as well so you can enjoy your party while they do the hard work :) Worth every penny! read more
