The food was delicious but the waitress was so rude! I didn't hear her describe what the house sauce was and when I asked her what it was she snapped at me and said "I literally JUST explained it." Later when we finally got our food my friend asked for a side of ranch with her pizza and the same waitress said "You already have a chicken bacon ranch pizza." With attitude! It was obnoxious and not good service at all. We had to flag someone down to get a refill on the drinks. I understand it's busy and all but no need to be rude. read more

There are so many good things to say about the food here. The garlic cilantro fries are consistently wonderful. The burgers are a bit more spotty..sometimes great and other times the burger is over cooked with a dry bun. I generally love the mussels appetizer and get it frequently although the last time I ordered it they skimped on the broth which is the best part of the dish and they also forgot to include the bread that comes with the dish. The rajas they serve with their burritos and tacos are wonderful and I always want more. I used to love their guacamole but the last few years every time I've ordered it it tastes like they've used prepackaged avocados..it's a very distinctive taste and I know the difference between fresh avocados and the prepackaged kind. I know that it's difficult to always get good avocados here but if I'm able to make it at home then it's at least somewhat possible. Overall I keep coming back and have continued to for years. read more

Shared a quesadilla which was made with salsa already in it but it came out at room temperature so the cheese had solidified already and the stems of the lettuce garnish were BROWN.... such a sad imitation of a salad. Husband ordered Taco salad with steak which looked pretty good. Son had fried halibut (3 small pieces) with cilantro fries...underwhelmed. I had fried avocado tacos... interesting. Salsa was so hot my mouth burned but cleared my sinuses really well. It was a FOUR tissue salsa. Waitress brought out a little guacamole instead after asking how food was. Wait help very attentive but check your bill as we were double charged for drinks. read more

I have to commend Bear Tooth Pub on their EXCEPTIONAL service. My friend and I were initially overlooked on this busy Friday night, didn't make much notice of it because we were catching up but then our soon to be server DID notice, apologized profusely, brought us drinks and food very promptly and then dessert. Got the tab- and it was all on the house! All without us having to complain, Bear Tooth just took it upon themselves to provide us an entire complimentary meal because they care about impressing even two seemingly budgeted college girls. The food and brew was fantastic and we had such a good experience we decided to stay for a movie. My new favorite place in Anchorage and I cannot wait to become a paying customer soon! read more

So, this place doesn't need another positive review, but I MUST do it, cause it is one of my favorite places on the planet! There is nothing better than going to a movie on a rainey day (and only paying $3.50!) and getting some of the worlds most delicious food served to you. (And NO, I'm really not exaggerating.) I come back to Alaska each summer, in part, just to eat here. Something as simple as their strawberry Spinach Salad with a house made poppysead dressing is spectacular alone, but they are so flexible with the menu that you can add a piece of blackened Salmon to it if you are real hungry and have a gourmet feast. My absolute favortie item on the menu is a toss up between their garlic Cilantro fries (top two french fries in the world) or the Habanero Chicken Skewers. Now, I can't do spicy. I'm a simple girl. But these are spicy. It hurts to eat them, but they are sooooo good, I can't stop myself. read more

I love this place.... maybe a bit too much! Some of the best locally-brewed beer in Anchorage and great food as well. Great service too. My biggest complaint is that it takes too long to get a table and there's not nearly enough room in the front entry area or the bar to hang out while waiting for a table. Nachos are awesome! Two stars for my food, 3-4 stars for my luncheon companions today. Ordered the seared ahi tacos. The seared ahi was stone cold (as just out from the fridge vs. freshly prepared) and served in standard packaged taco bell hard taco shells (which were not mentioned on the menu; who uses them except cheap fast food restaurants??). Not totally unedible, but very dissappointing for such a hyped up restaurant. Seared ahi should be served just out of the skillet, not from something prepared a day or two before and pulled out of the cooler and sliced like a cold roast beef sandwich. It also looked like it was the carbon monoxide gassed variety based on the enhanced bright color. The waiter confirmed my suspicions when I was honest when questioned on how I liked my meal (I was correct). The blackened halibut tacos that my companions ate looked much better and should have earned a better rating from me. Can't wait to get back to Honolulu tomorrow where ahi dish standards are much higher. And it is in the 80's too ;-) read more

OMG WHAT A GREAT IDEA! Literally this movie theatre//eatery is one main reason I did not want to move away from AK. The food is to die for. I love the Veggie Bomber. And the Garlic Treats.....Mmmmmm. The movies are great. I love the shows on Monday. I like that they have a kid/family movie as the matinee on the weekends. And the beer. Mmmmm. Don't go without your ID no matter how old you are. And don't be a non-US citizen. Visited this establishment for dinner with a group of friends from outside the US. Our ages ranged from mid-forties to mid-seventies. We were refused bar service because my friends had left their passports at the hotel. We asked to speak to the manager to find a way to resolve this but she said we couldn't be served because she was unable to verify our ages. Really??? We had nothing to drink prior to coming n and we were very polite - unlike her. The least she could have done was allow me (with ID) to purchase the drinks. But she said no, everyone needed to show ID. Frankly, as an American I was embarrassed that these visitors to our country were treated so badly and with such rudeness. I couldn't help feeling that there was some animosity because they were from outside the US (England and New Zealand). Any reasonable management would have found a solution. They just simply didn't want to. read more

Broken Tooth is the best of the many fine craft breweries in Alaska and this is the best place to drink it. The Theatre Pub does not have the full selection of beers, but it is hard to beat $3.50 for a movie. Prince William Porter and Midtown Brown are my favorites, and the First Tap special is always worth at least a taste. read more

Got here around 4pm on a Saturday. First time here after all these years. Wasn't busy quite yet. We sat at the Pub. Service was fast and attentive. We ordered Santa's Little Helper pizza, breadsticks, Nachos w/ beef for here and a High Protein pizza to go. Food was good. Price was on point. Atmosphere is great. Overall great place to bring guest and such. Only problem is parking. Gets crowded with all the side street parking. Shall visit again soon. read more

As an east coaster and former resident of Italy, I have pretty high standards for pizza crust, and for the most part have been hugely disappointed in the 'pizza' since moving to the west coast. Then I came here and got the Wild Mushroom pizza and it is-- hands down-- the most delicious and heavenly pizza I have had west of the Appalachians. Denali sauce is something I never would have come up with, but it is pure genius. On my second trip to Anchorage I made sure to include Bear's Tooth on my repeat list. I look forward to having other excuses to come back again and again in the future. read more

I recently moved out of Alaska and have had non-stop cravings for the fish tacos from Bear Tooth! Expect to wait 20-30 minutes to be seated but believe me, it's totally worth it. I always get the beer battered fish tacos with garlic fries and everything always tastes amazing. They make strong drinks too. I typically go with the tie dye (a mixture of margarita and strawberry daiquiri) and usually opt out of a second. Highly recommend this place, both for the cheap movie tickets and the grill! There is one thing you used to be able to count on: the consistency of the food and the pleasantness of the people that provide you with your to go order. Apparently things have changed. I have been a regular customer of Bear Tooth ever since it opened. I have frequently ordered items to go and also been a customer at both the theater pub hand the grill. Consistency in food quality and customer service is what keeps people coming back. I had a very negative experience tonight with an entrée being left out of my order. It was discovered when I had driven all the way home. The people who are regularly there and handle the to go orders were very accommodating. Someone who identified herself as a "manager" lacked severely in people skills. That was bad enough but the quality of the food once I was able to heat it was much less than what I am used to receiving from the Bear Tooth. I will have to question my loyalty to this establishment. read more

I loved this place when I lived in Anchorage! Every time I visit I have to return for a beer and good food with friends.

I like Bear Tooth better than Moose's Tooth because it tends to be less crowded (not saying much there) and has more variety on the menu. And the movies are cheap. And the service is more consistently fast and friendly. And you can actually hear a conversation. Parking sucks, however...and don't park in the lot across the street because a tow truck parks and waits over there specifically to tow Bear Tooth patrons. read more

This place is always a top contender. The restaurant side now has brunch items every day with the lunch menu, ranging from straight-up two eggs, meat, and potatoes, to chilaquiles. On the theatre side, the food is also excellent (nachos), with some good vegan options. If you want to do some advance planning, there are booths you can reserve in advance so you can avoid the inevitable line/race to get a good seat for a movie. One downside: Parking can be difficult. read more
