Bearcat CBD did have a wait, but it wasn't nearly as long as some of the other places we were considering. I'm happy we ended up here because it's definitely on our list for when we return. There's several parts to the restaurant: there's an indoor area, an outdoor area, and an upstairs area. I'm not sure if the upstairs is for special events or large parties, but it's there. The vibes in this place are on point. The staff is very upbeat and happy and the music is everything! All the jams were played and all the moods were felt. It was lowkey yet perfect. Food is 10/10 also. I ordered the carb scramble with potatoes. So good! And so much food I couldn't finish. Absolutely delicious. This was hands-down, one of my favorite meals in New Orleans. We walked from our hotel in the French Quarter, it was about a 1.2 mile walk. Super straight shot, super easy. I chose the bison sausage breakfast as my dish, it came with eggs, bacon, avocado, and the famous bison sausage. I've never had anything like bison sausage, and it was amazing!! It's similar to beef, but definitely not as tough. If you have had venison before, it reminded me of that. My husband had the egg scramble plus the Cauliflower grits. His breakfast was packed with protein, and a very large portion. Let's just say, he was a very happy man!! We also tried the house made kombucha, the blackberry and the peach! The blackberry was absolutely delicious!! The peach was also good, but the blackberry was just a little better! Our server was absolutely amazing and I'm kicking myself because I cannot remember his name. We sat in the upstairs portion And had a beautiful view of their courtyard. Our server was on it! Proactive, kind, knowledgeable about the menu, it was awesome! I'm going to guess that his name was Austin, and if there's no Austin then oops! Then we ordered a breakfast bacon burrito and blueberry pancakes, and it took so very long to get the food. The food was fine. I would suggest going earlier to secure a spot bc it does get pretty busy- and I can see why. The brunch menu is so diverse and can fulfill all of your unique cravings& dietary needs. It started off with a longgg wait, about 40 mins, however they used yelp waitlist service and we were able to see how long we had until our table which is nice. Unfortunately, we had to sit outside in the hot summer New Orleans heat to wait for our table. The water they had for people was warm because it was out in the heat, but at least it was something. I ordered the crab dip (gluten free) and scallops and grits (available gluten free) and they were both delicious. I had a mocha for my drink and I highly recommend it as well. Our server, Jess, was also very accommodating and very kind. Someone told her they didn't like their meal and she kindly comped it. Currently thinking about the Cat Daddy as I write this review. I was searching brunch spots and Bearcat caught my eye. Their food looked/sounded delicious, and the aesthetic of the place itself was very cute. I started with a jasmine passion tea and it came in a lovely glass bottle with a sticker of the expiration date. That is some fresh juice. It was re-fresh-ing in that heat, and the passion fruit flavor was a treat. My friend loves coconut milk, and Bearcat makes theirs in house. The waitress suggested an iced matcha with coconut milk and she thoroughly enjoyed it. Also, shoutout to our waitress because she was very patient as my friend wasn't sure what she wanted to order. Then we couldn't order lunch until 11 and it was 10:45 and she told us how they are very particular about that, especially when it is busy. But she came back and my friend was able to order her lunch minutes before 11, which was nice! As aforementioned, I ordered the Cat Daddy and the crawfish grits were 10/10. Cherry, or crawfish, on top. They don't hold out on the amount of crawfish they give you either. The fried chicken was crisp to perfection, and I love me a good biscuit. My friend got the fried chicken sandwich and immediately exclaimed how tasty it was after her first bite. It's a lovely spot with a big patio. I visited here for the first time on Saturday afternoon. I found parking a few blocks away off the street. The parking price wasn't unreasonable. I was told that they don't typically take reservations and so quests could end up waiting a while to be seated. So I'd recommend keeping that in mind. Everyone knows that this is the one place you absolutely have to eat at in NOLA. From food to service to beverages everything is top notch perfection. They don't take reservations and they do get very busy, so we arrived right at opening time on a Saturday morning and were immediately seated. They won't seat you until your whole group has arrived. I went with an iced almond milk chai from their beverage fridge in a cute little glass bottle, all made in-house. It was the perfect amount of sweetness and very smooth. Because dessert first is never a bad idea, the Churro Donut was first on the list. I don't know what I was expecting but it tasted exactly like a churro in the shape of a donut, was nice and crispy and easily shared among the table. It's pretty much mandatory to get something on a biscuit, and they have plenty to choose from. Right away I knew I had to get the Hot Rob, a biscuit topped with hot fried chicken, creamed spinach and a sunny side up egg. It was gut-bustingly fantastic. Everything is on the heavier side so you may even want to split with another person in your group. This is my favorite of the Bearcats. The service is consistently warm from the hostess to the server, to the bartender; they are efficient; and there is ample seating. Shout out to Bailey who was our excellent server on this visit. The backyard patio among the plants is really cute. The handmade dish ware was earthen and beautiful. This location also has the infamous churro donuts that the uptown location does not. A couple of years ago, the churro donut recipe changed. It's a lot heavier and greasier now, but I keep ordering it hoping that it tastes like it did moons ago. It used to be incredible, now it's just good. They have my favorite chia pudding with peak freshness fruit and no dairy. They also have the best breakfast potatoes in the city. So crunchy! So salty! Yum! They have a good array of cafe fare like a thorough tea menu and a really tasty chai latte on the menu. The prices have increased as many restaurants have had to do due to inflation. With that said, it would've been nice to have gotten the teabags or tea leaves with our tea. Also, both of our crab scrambles came with so little crab that I could barely taste it, but I did enjoy the texture of the egg and the crispness of the asparagus. We had to wait 1 hour on the weekend for a table for 3. They don't take reservations or call ahead seating so you just have to walk in and put your name down. They do text you when your table is ready and then you have 6 minutes to get back to the restaurant for your table. Let me start by saying to get their homemade juices!
