Great service; nice seating area. It has a door directly into northwestern hospital building which is a huge plus. I tried the vegan soup recently, it was definitely one of the most flavorful soup, they didn't seem to have too many vegan options, but I will. definitely come back to try the ones they do

The main reason I am giving 4 stars is that I made a reservation for this restaurant at 1pm for 2 people and we showed up on time. The host told us that the waiters were cleaning up the tables and that we would be seated shortly. I probably saw about 3 or 4 parties that showed up after us that got seated before we did and we had to check with the hostess again about 15-20 minutes after our reservation time to see if our table was ready. She seemed embarrassed like she had forgotten about us and quickly sat us as soon as we checked in with her the second time. Once we were sat, we ordered iced lattes and chimichurri steak and eggs for brunch. The food was great. Steak and eggs were cooked well. The coffee was delicious. I ordered a mango orange and pineapple juice that had a weird taste to it. I took a couple sips and didn't finish it. Overall the food was good and the server was nice. No complaints.

Beatrix is a fantastic escape from the standard conference center fare. After a long night, the Migas Egg Scramble provided exactly the kind of flavorful, high-protein start that was needed to get through the day. The Hazelnut Oat Mocha was a great pairing--rich and well-balanced. It was also good to see the variety at the table; the Eggs Your Way, Lemon Pancakes, and Overnight Oats all looked like solid, well-prepared options. The staff was friendly and attentive throughout the meal, making for a seamless experience. If you're looking for a reliable breakfast spot in Chicago that feels a bit more intentional than the usual hotel or convention options, this is a winner.

I love it here!! Truly the best gluten free bread I have ever tasted. I asked our server if I should get the gf hot honey fried chicken sandwich or the chimichurri steak and eggs and he said hands down as a gf person get the sandwich because they have a great bun here. He did not lie!! Best bun ever! Does not taste gluten free even though from the look of it, it looks dry and disgusting. It was perfect, it did not crumble and was buttery goodness! Best gf sandwich I've ever had Next time I visit Chicago I will be back!

What a busy place for a Sunday brunch! They're clearly doing something right here, since every table was filled and there was a constant flow of in and out traffic. Our server was very kind and, while it was busy, you never felt like you were forgotten about, though our food did take a little longer than I would've expected, but I chalk that up to the fact they were so busy. The meal itself was great! I ordered their Ranchero Breakfast Burrito, which is a decent size and is relatively "healthier" for a breakfast burrito. It comes with eggs, a little cheese, poblano peppers, black beans, sweet corn, and quinoa. I loved the salsa that comes with the burrito and, while they didn't give me a choice for a side with breakfast, the pineapple covered in tajin was a great and unique twist! I would recommend this place if you haven't been, and I'd certainly stop back when I'm in Chicago next!

I went to Beatrix for brunch and had a great time! Right away the ambiance was super lively, and you could tell this was the place to go for a Sunday brunch. It We had a reservation and got seated right away, which was nice (recommend making reservations if you can) I wanted an omelette, but it wasn't on the menu besides an egg white omelette. The server was helpful and still made it work for me. The omelette was really good. I recommend adding onions, they made it taste a little sweet!! My meal also came with hash browns, toast, and bacon which were also very tasty!! Overall, it was a solid brunch spot and I would go back.

Had a great experience at Beatrix. Came on a Saturday morning around 9am and there was no wait. The place is a pretty good size inside. Service was perfect. They offer a seperate gluten free menu, which is quite large. I tried the Gluten Free bacon, egg, cheese breakfast sandwich with a side of hashbrowns. My husband got the same sandwich but the non gluten free version and added sausage and side of pancakes. Everything was fresh and flavorful. The hashbrowns were nice and crispy, which I prefer. The gluten free bun was better quality than other places I have tried. I will be back to try more options in the future!

Love Beatrix, everything from the restaurant, the market to the coffee cafe. The restaurant has a casual and intimate ambulance. The service is always great. My favorite meal at the restaurant is the ham and Swiss croissant with the side salad. It's delicious and love the sauce with it. For the market you can choose from so many choices and there is something for everyone. I love the cookies and angel food muffins at the coffee cafe .

We came for brunch and were very glad we had a reservation because it was extremely busy. Check-in and seating took a few minutes, which was understandable. Once seated, we ordered quickly and the food came out at a normal pace. The ambiance was really nice, cozy vibes with nice background music. The food and drinks were amazing. The almond milk cappuccino was excellent, the strawberry mimosa was delicious, and the lemon pancake was fluffy and perfect to share. The chimichurri steak and eggs were fantastic, and the bacon and eggs were great -- the bacon especially. Unfortunately, after our food was dropped, our server never came back to check on us. No follow-up, no drink refill requests, nothing -- we eventually had to get up and find him just to pay and leave. I saw him taking orders at nearby tables without stopping by ours. Our table was awkwardly placed in a corner near the waiting area, which may have contributed. He was very nice when we did interact with him, and it was very busy. Overall very delicious and glad we came!!

This might be one of those places you'd overlook unless a local tipped you off to it. From the outside, you'd probably walk by it. Inside it's trendy but unpretentious. Beatrix lets its food speak for itself and it does. In fact, we came here three separate times for dinner, brunch, and lunch. For dinner, the French onion short ribs were incredible. The meat was tender and extremely tasty. The Korean Fried Short Ribs were crispy, and not too spicy. It also came with a nice dipping sauce and side of cabbage. Even though it was dinner time, we were advised the Hazelnut Oat Mocha was excellent and it was (ordered it every time we came). For lunch, I opted for a wild mushroom teriyaki bowl and it was tasty, with a touch of sweet. A friend got the enchiladas and raved about that too. The variety of menu items was thoughtful. The consistent high quality ingredients were impressive. And the presentation was Instagram worthy. The service is good. You can easily split a bill using the table's QR code. There's a small bakery inside for people to grab and go. Teas and coffees are also available for takeout. Reservations strongly recommended because they were always busy. I recommend going and will be coming back!

What a cute place for a quick lunch! Gus was my server and couldn't have been any better! Quick with my order and delivering my Prime Cheeseburger and fries. I'm in from Phoenix to attend a conference. This is my 5th and final day. I was tired of sitting at bars and eating. They sat me in a great spot and made me feel welcomed. I can tell they have a great following! If she's there please ask for Gus! She'll take great care of you!

I ordered a catering order from here and Ana was fantastic. She helped me customize my order. When the order came, the quality of the food was not good (the sandwiches got very soggy from the tomato) but I called Ana and we had fresh sandwiches delivered in 20 minutes. Their customer service was incredible. The roasted tomato egg sandwich is our departments favorite. It is the best breakfast sandwich in Chicago. I highly recommend this place! read more

They offer a healthy, modern take on classic dishes like pot roast sandwiches, baked ravioli, and arugula salad. The food is very good, but it's overpriced for the portion size. I also like that they have unique beverages like cucumber mint soda, but again, they come with a hefty price tag (and my cucumber slice garnish looked like it had been sitting out for a least a day). Service was good and we were seated quickly without a reservation around brunch on a Friday. Also, keep in mind that they end breakfast at 11am sharp. read more

I like the food, it's healthy and have been a few times. The waiters are very sweet. Only issue is the Host or maybe even the manager (wish I got his name). I was there with a group of friends , around 9pm. The restaurant had barely 5 people. The group decided to move from the porch to the restaurant so the Host/manager was setting up our table. We thought he was done and were about to sit, then he yells and says "DON'T GET AHEAD OF YOURSELF". I'm sorry? Excuse me? Completely rude. Per my friend that frequents this place this individual host is known for his bad attitude. Might want to work on that customer service. Your waiters and waitresses were way better, that's not welcoming at all sir. Completely rude. read more

I luckily stumbled upon this place, and had a fantastic meal. I ordered the pepper egg white sandwich, and added their brown sugar bacon (do this, you will thank me) My sandwich was served on the fluffiest bread I've ever had. It came with a great spicy green salsa, blistered peppers, greens and loads of pepperjack cheese. It was spicy and sweet with the bacon, I devoured the entire thing faster than I'd care to admit. Their red mimosa (strawberry and watermelon) is so refreshing, I definitely recommend trying it! The food is fresh, flavorful, and absolutely gorgeous on the plate. read more

Used to love going here, but the quality's taken a nosedive lately. We used to love the fresh, (somewhat) healthy flavors at Beatrix, but our recent visits have left us pretty disappointed. Everything tastes a little stale and/or overseasoned, and the service quality and wait times have really deteriorated. Given that this is one of very few passable dining options in Streeterville, I really hope they step their game back up! read more

This Beatrix rocks!! I had the mushroom risotto and it was so delicious, the food came out fast and the environment was really relaxing. I came to eat at the restaurant but made a stop at the cafe as I was leaving. The barista with tan skin and glasses was so patient and funny, she helped me pick a non dairy option and I ended up getting a coffee cake on her recommendation that was out of this world! Our conversation made my night and I was overall really impressed with this location. read more

Oh. My. Word. Amazing is all I can say! One of the best breakfast dishes I've had. Lemon pancakes are melt in your mouth, perfect. The Avocado Benedict, with all the jalapeno relish and salsas, was a perfect mixture of flavors. Added the toast and some extra salsas. The egg and pepper sandwich knocked me out of this world. Just outstanding. Service matched the flavors and our was such a wonderful experience. Love this place! read more

Came in Sunday morning right at 9am and walked past a bunch of empty tables only to be told it would be a 20-30 minute wait. They said they had a couple reservations they needed to seat soon. That's a lot of reservations for the number of empty tables. Ok, fine, they probably just didn't plan properly for staff. So now we wait, and after pretty close to the 30 minutes they call us, only to seat us right by the entryway at a table that has been empty since we arrived. Seriously? She even took the reservation sign off the table because it was in the bar area where some of the tables are first come first served. read more

The food was good I ordered egg white omelette. Service was poor. There were empty tables but we had to wait for a comparatively long time. Also a fly found it's way into my friends drink. Instead of replacing the entire drink, the waitress brought same glass half full which looked like a highly diluted drink as well. So my friend didn't even dare to drink that. Food and Ambience is good though. read more

This place is so delicious, especially if you like to eat plant-based meals. There mushroom veggie burger is out-of-control good. I also had a roasted cauliflower topped salad with pistachios that was very satisfying as a meal, and a cauliflower "steak" entree over a generous portion of delicious housemaid tahini and pesto. I had their regular burger as well and it was also delicious. I was staying in the neighborhood for a week, and just kept going back for more. They have good wine by the glass for their happy hour as well, and the interior is very nicely lit and comfortable. read more

Great location just a block or two from Michigan Ave. My wife and I stopped in for a drink some rest from our day in the city. My wife had a glass of wine and I had a cup of coffee. To my surprise they had Metropolitan Coffee which is one of my favorites. All in all a great feeling and experience. Highly recommend this location. read more

So I have either eaten here or received carry out for the last 3 days for every meal; breakfast, lunch and dinner. My wife is admitted at Northwestern Hospital and we are huge fans of most Lettuce Entertain You restaurants. Beatrix has not let us down once. This was an excellent first culinary experience to kick off a few days in Chicago. Music: the perfect 90s throwbacks. Summer day listening. UB40. All good. Food: fantastic for brunch! First off, I live in the neighborhood and am usually glad to have this in the area as an OK option - the casual restaurants in this neighborhood are not the best, and this is probably the more decent of the pack. The reasons I say that are a few: There's something about this location that is not as good as the River North Beatrix location that I frequent. It's a combination of the hosts/servers could be friendlier; the inside space seems too large and when it's dead, feels VERY dead; the food is lacking. The menu items are hit or miss: I enjoy some of the salads (Kale salad, chopped salad, straight A salad) but they don't include a protein, which is an extra add-on charge, making them pretty expensive for what you get. The new thai chopped salad is disappointing - it tastes too "raw"because you're chewing on the abundance of raw carrots most of the time. It could stand to have the carrots sliced thinly (not cubes) or roasted like the asparagus (for a heartier flavor), and the dressing didn't have much "thai" to it - and are there any other ingredients to this salad? It only seemed to have 3. For brunch and happy hour, the options are cooked better and a little more flavorful, creative - omelettes, chilaquiles, small plates (meatballs, soups). Also there's great outdoor seating in the summer, and a wonderful coffee bar with pastries. But, my last dinner was pretty disastrous. I ordered the Chicken Bebe - which is supposed to be the specialty. The chicken smelled of raw eggs - it clearly needs to be marinated better. My dad who can't do the breaded crust asked for his Chicken Bebe to be grilled, which they didn't look too enthused about making, but did make it. It came out with chunks of fat, and also smelled of raw egg. If you're in between this place and the River North location - go there for the food and better overall ambiance. I wish the actual execution of the menu was better here, so I wouldn't consider this place such a gamble. read more

We went for dinner when they first opened. Then twice, some months later for dinner and recently for brunch. Reservations are now a must and we still had to wait for our table. The service remains slow (I think its the kitchen) but the food is worth waiting for. They have turned the volume down on he music so you now can have a conversation. The simple well planned menu offers a difficult choice because you really want a taste of the lot - snacks, entrees, and sides. Don't pass on the fresh squeezed juice to start and a wonderfully crafted dessert to end. This place is attached to the hospital and an occasional person in scrubs will walk through for a takeout from the pastry-coffee bar. They might consider moving this to the back bar that has been unattended every visit. This would open up the bar and waiting area. Overall great tunes, vibrant atmosphere, slow service, excellent and creative food. read more

I decided to stop by for breakfast after my doctors appointment. They have a nice breakfast menu with several mouth watering options. I decided on the waffle. I was expecting a full sized waffle but I received several small waffles instead. No big deal. When my food came out the first bite had a foreign object in it. The server immediately took it away and offered me a new entree. I decided to get more waffles. The manager (Henry) was at my table in no more than 2 minutes. Henry apologized and also offered me another entree. My new waffles were at my table within 5 minutes. The waffles were good, the strawberries were perfect, the whipped cream was fresh and made in house, and the vanilla maple syrup was a nice touch. I also had the brown sugar bacon which was perfect. Overall the food was really good and there's a lot of places with really good food in Chicago but the service and the genuine concern shown for my dining experience will keep me going back to Beatrix time and time again. I have another doctors appointment next week and I will have breakfast here again. I'm going to try the Lemon pancakes with blackberries and lemon syrup. They looked delicious. read more

Food was okay. Nothing special. Much prefer going to Beatrix for brunch. Tried the butternut squash ravioli which was three large noodles stuffed along with the beef short rib stroganoff which was okay but had a slight sour aftertaste. Fake candles on table were filthy - covered in dust and hair. Looked like they hadn't been washed or replaced in years. read more

Favorite brunch in city. Get anything. Great atmosphere and lighting, a good price echelon, and seating. Overall easy to find and walkable from Michigan ave. Decently close to red line and easy coast access for walks on the lake. Easy and hands down favorite Sunday brunch! read more

A great place for any time of the day! With free WiFi and excellent coffee and food it is the perfect spot to grab brunch and study on a Saturday or Sunday. The Caesar salad with salmon was incredible--the best Caesar salad I have ever had by far. Service is outstanding. You can't go wrong with Beatrix! read more

Busy location in the Chicago Magnificent Mile neighborhood. Sunday brunch was exceptional. Menu was limited but the selections suited many different tastes. We chose two Spanish/Mexican breakfast dishes. Both were delicious. Service was attentive and fast. Order to table was literally 4 minutes. Highly Recommended. read more

Beatrix brunch never disappoints! From the service to the cocktails to the food - it is one of my go to brunch spots! The lemon pancakes are perfect. I tried the egg white omelette most recently - a little light on spinach but the salsa with avocado was a delish addition. read more

Best Lemon ricotta pancakes I've ever had!! I rarely order pancakes out as I'm usually disappointed. These are soufflé like served with a delicious lemon syrup and blackberries. Perfect combo. I'm already trying to find recipe online. My daughter had egg w/ quinoa cakes very tasty for being healthy Lol We made a reservation and were seated immediately. It came with the proverbial white rice, black beans with plenty of condiment, and maduros. Oh yummy. My Cuban grandma would have been pleased... The waiter was indeed, a Cuban American who had come over during the early Cuban diaspora. We chatted a bunch about the old country and had a pleasant conversation about being from the same province in the island. Great reminiscing, great food, great service. Yum.

For food we got the egg white omelette with sourdough toast and the prime cheeseburger with fries and both were absolutely incredible in completely different ways The omelette was so fresh and flavorful with creamy avocado, perfectly cooked egg whites, and all the toppings working together so well. Oh my goodness, Beatrix - Streeterville in Chicago is an absolute gem! From the moment I stepped through the door, I felt welcomed by the hostess, Maria, and energized by the lively atmosphere. And let me tell you, the brunch was beyond amazing! First of all, the seating was perfect! As a party of one, I was able to snag the best corner booth in the house and enjoy some prime people watching. But what really made the experience even more memorable was the exceptional service I received from my server, Gia. She was so warm and inviting, and her infectious smile and positive personality made me feel right at home. And don't even get me started on the food! I ordered the White Egg omelette which was so fresh and flavorful, topped with a deliciously spicy salsa and creamy guacamole. And the chicken apple sausage? Oh my goodness, it was to die for! The atmosphere is genuinely pleasant -- bright, clean, and stylish without trying too hard -- but the food just doesn't live up to the setting. I had such a great experience at Beatrix Streeterville! We hosted a staff retreat dinner there for a group of 33 people, and the team was incredibly accommodating from start to finish. They were amazing with everyone's dietary restrictions and even printed customized menus with dietary information for each guest, which was such a thoughtful touch and incredibly helpful for a large group. Communication throughout the planning process was fantastic, they were always quick to respond to questions and made everything feel easy and organized. The staff made us feel so welcome and even allowed us to stay a little longer so we didn't feel rushed out. The waiters and waitresses were wonderful, attentive, friendly, and professional. the ambiance was so pretty and well kept. And the food was absolutely delicious. I received compliments from my entire team on both the food and the location. There was a great variety of options, the proteins were especially well done, and everything we tried was excellent. I attended culinary school, so I can tend to picky when it comes to restaurants and this place checks all the boxes. The chef does amazing job with balancing flavor, portion, and presentation. Really excellent experience from start to finish! I had an 11:00 AM reservation but arrived over an hour early and was still seated immediately. The service was quick even though the restaurant was quite busy. I tried the lemon pancakes and the braised pot roast & egg sandwich with a blue mimosa and a spiked freddo. The drinks were delicious and were a unique take on a classic mimosa and chocolate milk. The only disappointing part about the food was when it was all gone! The pancakes were light and the lemon syrup was the perfect combination of sweetness and sour lemon. The sandwich was one wonderful bite after another, and the jalapeño relish was on the sweeter side which was a nice compliment to the rest of the sandwich. I will definitely be coming back to Beatrix the next time I am in Chicago! read more

This was my first experience at Beatrix and I will absolutely be back! My server Brock was welcoming, attentive, and kind. I ate by myself but he made me feel at home. After asking some questions about the menu I ended up ordering the blueberry mint juice and special of the night which Brock recommended. I loved how fresh the juice was (no sugar added is awesome too) and I would love to come back and get it spiked next time. My entree was incredibly flavorful and the perfect amount of filling. If I had more time I would have stayed for dessert but it'll have to wait until next time! The atmosphere was cozy and modern. It was pretty busy but not noisy at all. We visited this restaurant for happy hour and had a wonderful experience. The prices were excellent, with all appetizers offered at half price. We tried the spicy tuna crispy rice and the buffalo cauliflower and both were flavorful and delicious. The drinks were also good, making it a great value overall. The food was so impressive that we returned a second time for lunch. On that visit, we ordered the hot honey fried chicken sandwich. The portion was generous, and the sandwich was packed with flavor. Both times, the service was attentive and friendly, and the ambience was inviting. This restaurant is in the lobby of Northwestern Hosp. I did not realize the first few times I visited it is a Lettuce Entertain you restaurant. Their theme is "taste over trend". I am not sure what that even means. The place is separated into 3 main areas the first is a coffee, juice and Bar I had the mango, pineapple something not bad, but not better than Jamba Juice. The next area is a typical sit down menu. This was a little fancy. I ordered salmon with chile and chocolate sauce. Basically, it was nothing more than salmon diy taco with mole sauce. Woke up this morning craving something spicy, so rolled into Beatrix in Streeterville and went straight for the Ranchero Breakfast Burrito. It was packed with cheesy scrambled eggs, sweet corn, quinoa, charred poblano, black beans, and hash browns--all wrapped tight and tasty. I also grabbed a Power Greens juice to keep it healthy-ish. The burrito hit all the right notes--creamy eggs with just enough poblano kick, and the tortilla held up without getting soggy. The staff were chill and checked in just the right amount--felt like local service, no pretense. Place was buzzing but not too loud, perfect for a laid-back weekday brunch. Being a recent out of town guest, I felt compelled to join yelp and write a review on our experience. Unfortunatley, we had to spend some time at the hospital but Beatrix provided the most amazing, relaxing, comforting experience possible. This is my new favorite brunch spot! I recently stopped in for brunch with my family. The options are simply amazing from starting with the coffee or juice bar and moving on to a delicatable menu filled with numerous mouth watering options. Visiting Chicago from San Francisco, I stumbled upon Beatrix and was treated to a nice brunch experience! Their avocado toast, which initially seemed too busy, was delightful. Then I saw that a 20% service charge was automatically included. I'm happy to tip well for good service, but automatically charging 20% while providing virtually none of the basic service expected at a sit-down restaurant is frustrating. The food and location give this place potential, but guests shouldn't feel like a nuisance for asking about the restaurant's own happy-hour promotion. With a mandatory 20% charge, there should at least be a basic standard of attentive, courteous service.
