TL;DR - I was totally skeptical about Beaverton Kia, and almost forego this epic car I saw online because of the crap yelp reviews the dealership had gotten in 2015/early 2016. However, I am super pleased to report that my experience yesterday was GREAT!!!! John Paz handled my experience e2e and was FANTASTIC to work with. Note that this dealership is a 6 hour round trip for me to even visit....so when i read all the crap yelp reviews, i was really scared and almost didn't bother making the trip. Plus, this is my FIRST time buying a used car so i'm seriously worried about getting a bad deal. The Yelp reviews here seemed quite scary, i read every single one. They were great through 2013 and then took a serious downturn, and there were specific reviews saying the staff treats women customers like myself really badly. I HAD A GREAT EXPERIENCE working with John Paz (short for Pazeotopoulos, cool name). I sent my first mail through the Kia website at 6+am before i went to work and he replied in like 20min (wut??), and throughout the next 2 days, we had over 30 email exchanges (not even kidding....as I said, I'm a noob used car buyer). He was super patient, very detailed, not pushy at all, and very very polite. I was really pleasantly surprised by John's excellent service, since my past experience in other dealerships haven't been very good to-date, somehow everyone treats me like I'm too poor to afford a floor mat. Long story short, I found the car online last Wednesday, started email thread with John Paz Thursday, he even held the car for me Friday cos i had to work and can't drive down yet. Drove down Saturday arriving at 1pm, he had all the paperwork ready for me to inspect, the car was ready for test-drive, and everything was as he described. We took it for a test drive and didn't feel rushed at all in the process. i took my time to run through my checklist. I found a couple more problems and he was kind enough to have his service staff look at the issues while we went to grab lunch. We came back, and basically just closed the deal right there and then, no hassle no fuss! WOW. The whole experience was super pleasant, and considering i have bought many NEW cars before, and this is my first USED car experience, i was completely blown away that this was my BEST car buying experience EVER. So, the salesman was relatively low pressure... And with a 2 yr lease there isn't a lot of pressure for a more down and such. Although, the payments were higher than we were looking for, but the car is nice--- and it is only for 2 years. Then we were handed over to the finance guy... Every kind of useless upsale in the book... but we knew what we were there for. Three times I asked about how to set up auto payments to be taken directly from my CREDIT CARD... I even explained twice why we used the credit card for all automatic payments instead of a direct draw from a checking account. ESPECIALLY FROM A BUSINESS ACCOUNT. He assured us that it would be fine, and that we would get an information packet in the mail that would explain how to set that up. He did not explain that I could NEVER make a payment with a credit card. He did not explain that to make a payment from the checking account over the phone would have a surcharge of $8 each time. Over the life of the loan that is an additional $192. Not exactly a nickle or a dime... but also, when asked point blank, THREE TIMES.... this is dishonesty that they supposedly no longer practice. As a Mercedes E class driver I was accustomed to driving a high performance luxury vehicle. I have been looking to replace mine with a newer model when my son, a member of the sales team at Beaverton Kia, encouraged me to step away from the Mercedes logo and give the new line of Kia luxury vehicles a try. My son Jacobson Menashe suggested a CPO Kia Cadenza with only 14K miles. I was impressed with all the convenience, safety and tech features and the quiet comfortable ride. The experience was only highlighted by the great customer service I received from Jacobson. Not only did he spend the time introducing me to all the great features and benefits of this car but he encouraged me to take the car for a full test drive. This secured my decision. I came in to look at a car for my mom. At first the guy I was talking to (John) was nice. I went on a test drive and noticed the oil looked like chocolatey, which could mean there's coolant getting into the engine. Myself and my girlfriend also noticed the car was a lot dirtier than I expected and smelt like that fruity stale cigarette smell. Once we got back from the test drive John asked me what I thought. I let him know of my concerns and so we went inside to talk to the guys at the front desk. I told them my concerns and they didn't take me serious, basically laughing in my face. Could be because I'm 18 but it doesn't mean I wasn't ready to buy a car there. They didn't ask if I wanted to see any other cars, just left it at that. Never going back there. read more

I went in to Beaverton Kia last weekend to just test drive a 2013 Kia Soul I saw listed online. I was helped by Joaquin Murillo, who took me out on a test drive and let me get a good feel for the car. Both my girlfriend and I liked it, so we started the paperwork as soon as we got back to the dealership. Joaquin was quite helpful, and made the sale go as smooth as possible. I did have an issue with a stereo component on the vehicle not working to par, and when I took it back I was helped by Joshua Campista who quickly got the car over to the service department, hooked me up with a temporary ride, and got my car fixed, cleaned, and detailed all in one day. These people are incompetent. I took my 2022 Kia Stinger in for the its 6k mile service. I told them that the automatic/intermittent windshield wipers were not working correctly. When I picked the car up they told me the wipers were working fine. I disagreed so they brought a technician out to look at the problem. After agreeing that the wipers were not working correctly, I made another appointment to have the problem "diagnosed". When I showed up for that appointment they had no record of it so I made another appointment. When I showed up for this appointment I was told they would have to keep the car for 2 or 3 days; to diagnose a windshield wiper problem, give me a break. I asked if they could make an appointment such that I could leave the car and pick it up the same day. The service representative said that was impossible. They are passing off a used car as new. Yesterday I test drove a used 2022 Kia Soul turbo with ~300 miles. During the process we were told 3 different stories about why the car was returned after a week. They showed us a CarFax report with the transactions and service that was done when the car was returned. Despite the conflicting stories, I was interested in the car and ready to buy it. I made an offer on the car. The salesman went to talk to the manager and then came back and said the car was no longer for sale. First the salesman said it wasn't safe and they were returning it to Kia, then the manager came out and said they were taking it off the market to relist it as a new car. Now only did they change the price from $29,800 to $31,200 after they changed it to "new," they brought out a price list with taxes and fees totaling over $39k. Today I went online and see that same car is for sale as "new" with only 13 miles. My guess is they will explain the over 300 miles as "test drives" because "there's been so much interest in the car." I'm sure they are counting on customers not asking to see a CarFax report on a new car sale. It would have been nice for them to enter into this business discussion with the price that was advertised at the time we looked at the car. read more

To start, I've brought my car in multiple times. I most definitely had the absolute worst time this last time around. I brought my car in because of its electric power steering. It took over a week to to diagnose because from what I was told technicians were calling off and just the department being super busy. Thankfully I was able to talk to someone who offered me a discount as I had to rent a car because my car need work on it. Once I received my diagnosis a week later, I got my parts ordered I then had to wait for parts to come in. I was told 3-5 days. A week goes by, I still hear nothing. I call once again to get information on my car that has now been sitting at Kia for 2 weeks. They tell me, that my parts are in and that my car will be ready tomorrow afternoon. When I communicated with Rob the Service Manger, he immediately told me there was nothing he could do to reimburse me for the rental or discount me for the inconvenience of me having to rent a car. Which I was previously told I could get a discount. Not only was he not willing to give me a discount but also told me it was not his fault that I need the rental. I was very patient with every employee from the start until I felt I was being taken advantage of. My car is now ready for pick up. I pick up my car and return my rental just to find out my passenger side window is not rolling down. An issue that was not there before I brought it in 2 weeks ago. I bring it back to Kia just to be told that there is nothing they can do about it as the work they did does not go hand in hand with my window not working. After demanding something be done, they now offered a free diagnosis of my window not rolling down but still can 't promise they can fix it because "it isn't related to the work we did." I brought my car in 2 weeks ago with all 4 windows working, haven't drove my car in 2 weeks just to be told that it could fall on me that my window is not rolling down. This entire experience I have been going in circles being told multiple different things. I am very disappointed in the customer service they have showed in the service department and am really just wishing I would've went somewhere else. read more

Lost the keys to the Sorento. Had it towed to Beaverton KIA. Paid for new key. Waited for.key to arrive 2 days later. Got a call saying the key did not work on the door or the ignition. The person asked if we had all the locks on the car changed. The person went on about how sometimes people do that if there is a divorce or such. Wanted me agree to letting them l change out the locks and ignition. Had my husband call them, they decided to have a locksmith look at it. Locksmith couldn't figure it out. Had them torder another key to see if this one had maybe not be cut right. Low and behold the next key worked on the door and ignition. But the key doesn't go with the fob so had to get another fob. A week and half later finally get the car back. No apology for their errors. read more

Terrible experience here. I bought a new 2023 Kia Seltos here and 1week after driving my new vehicle off the lot I have had electrical issues with the Navigation system that make the vehicle instruments go dead. No instruments while driving! I called immediately to get the car in for service and was told they were busy. The service department told me the earliest they could see my vehicle was 1 month. I took it in and had to fight for a loaner. 1 week later they gave my my car back, and the same issues started happening again after a few days. I called to get it back into service and after several rude phone calls with the service department they agreed to take it in again. I again had to fight for a loaner. Took my car in and instead of taking my car in, they said they would order a whole new navigation unit and told me they would call around 2weeks later when the part came in. 2 weeks came and went, and when I called to check on the part, the kid on the phone at the service department told me the part was not available and he could not give me any idea when it could come in. Broken new car, no idea on when a fix could happen and just incompetent unhelpful service. 3 months and counting with no fix. I called Kia customer care and they have opened ended a case file. I am having to go around the dealer to troubleshoot the issue. Very disappointed and shocked that this is how Beaverton Kia treats its customers. read more

I would give 0 stars if I could. I've tried taking my car to the service center three times and each time was awful. They are the only Kia dealer in my area which is the only reason I went back at all. Long story short here's just some of the issues over these three times - kept my cars for two days before getting to it, parked my car off the lot overnight, once the car was ready they forgot to tell us, another time told us we could pick our car up on Sunday morning, however they were closed and didn't leave the keys or anyway to actually get the car, offer to order part which we declined but they ordered them anyways then tried to charge us, charged for work that we never approved or even knew about, overall rude and clueless. read more

Felt like I got the run around from the sales team here. They seem to use every trick in the book and don't bother with good service. On my first visit (purely research), I got a acceptable trade in quote but offered 8% financing with excellent credit, the numbers on their price sheet didn't add up and the salesman couldn't explain why, then they wouldn't let me keep the offer sheet. A month later, I know what I want. When I go in they tell me to ignore the markup, offer me 1.9 financing, offer me the same amount for my trade-in. I decline the add-ons and made a decent, though slightly low offer. Jonathon comes out, lowers their offer on my vehicle by $4k ("we found a dent we didn't see last time... or maybe it's new"), and tells me they won't waive the mark up, despite a salesman saying so earlier. About $9k different after making lots of promises. I understand that someone may pay more than I would have. Don't lie to me repeatedly though. My time is more valuable to me and they repeatedly wasted it playing salesmen games. After working with 3 Kia dealerships, this one was the worst. I recommend Dick Hannah in Vancouver or Kia of Portland. The overall experience was significantly better at both of those. read more

My girlfriend recently bought a 2019 Kia Sportage from Beaverton Kia and had a "decent" experience, so I thought I might try my luck. I viewed the cars online and filled out a credit application in which of course I received a call and email within 30 seconds. I was at work and could not make personal calls, but did respond via email. I corresponded with the sales person via email for HOURS throughout my work day. We finally got to a stopping point in which I asked the salesperson "Chris" to just check my credit and give me a ballpark figure on what I'd be looking at with payments and that I was concerned due to my credit. He sent me an email saying he's sure my credit has gotten better over the last year and we would figure something out......that was 7 days ago and I have yet to hear back from him period, even when I sent him a follow up email. After my email, I then get an email from "Richard" saying he has got through my profile and apologizes that no-one has gotten back to me. basically tells me I "NEED" to come in to the dealership to determine the best car that suits me best.....(even though, I made it clear I wanted a black Sportage). When I ask why the first gentleman stopped corresponding with me, he said because it was his day off. Well, it's been a week so I automatically don't believe you. Also, getting me into your dealership does nothing for me. There's nothing you can't ask me via email that HAS to be answered in house. He also told me i CAN'T get any kind of help online, that I MUST come in. Rewind to 2 years ago when I went into the dealership to buy a Red Kia Soul with a black roof. I said I absolutely do NOT want a lime green Kia Soul. Well, after I didn't qualify for the car I specifically said I wanted, do you know what they tried to sell me? a used lime green Kia Soul and it was still almost $500.00/month. As far as I can tell, they either don't listen or don't care. They just want to sell you whatever car they can convince you to buy. I emailed Richard back and said I was not interested, and that I would just continue to drive the car I currently have, and this morning he emails me for an offer to "LEASE" a red, 2019 Kia Forte', but its a limited time offer and ONLY for this car. Again........not the car I wanted, not the color I wanted, and certainly leasing was not the option I wanted. I will never even consider this car dealership again. I'm not going to go any deeper into this, but Kia of Portland did something similar when I tried to see if they could help me. I do not look forward to car shopping, in fact I DREAD car shopping. I enjoyed that fact that I could leisurely look at Beaverton Kia's inventory from home and pick out a handful of cars that my husband and I were interested in. We then set up an appointment to view and test drive the cars we had picked out (and any others that John found in our price range and with our specifications). We even chatted on the phone for a few minutes to get more of an idea of what our needs/wants were. The morning of car shopping, we ended up bringing our 2.5 year old with us and John was extremely helpful and accommodating- we ended up test driving our car separately, he had toys in his office, and even had PBS on his iPad. John was extremely helpful in assessing cars for car seat room (we have another baby on the way), trunk space (strollers take up a ton of room!), as well as our other concerns. John ended up finding a little gem, a 2013 Hyundai Sonata with 50,000 miles at $12K- that wasn't even on our list that had just arrived. Our application and paperwork went relatively quickly without hiccup and all steps were adequately and patiently explained to us (from down payment options, monthly payments, extended warranties, etc). In no way did we feel like we were being pressured, bullied, etc. (which had been my previous experience). When our second car dies in a few years, we will go back to John Pazeotopoulos at Beaverton Kia to replace it. read more

Beaverton Kia was the only dealership around that had the vehicle we were looking for at the price we wanted to pay, but that meant I had to drive down from Olympia last weekend to pick it up. I was pretty concerned about what to expect from this dealership based on the online reviews. However, the transaction went fairly smoothly. The only hiccup was that the car wasn't completely clean: although it was new, it had been a test drive car, so there were scuffs and other signs of use inside. Also, it wasn't completely clean on the exterior, although Allen, our salesman, did what he could on short notice (I contacted them about the car just before closing on Friday night, and I arrived and basically started the paperwork right when they opened on Saturday). I managed to get everything cleaned up on my own without much trouble. But the best thing was that although I was pre-approved for financing through my credit union, they kept searching for, and found, a better rate. This is in contrast to another recent dealership experience I had where they were clearly pushing me towards a loan that would have given the dealership an incentive, regardless of the rate I was going to pay. I know they had a new GM start just last month, so I hope they're working on addressing some of these negative reviews, both responding to the them and fixing any underlying issues. read more

I just bought a new KIA Niro EV from Beaverton KIA. I went there because of an advertised special. I had contacted them to insure that the special was still available, and made an appointment. When I got there the person I made the appointment with was not there, and the deal was not available. Not a good start. But our sales person, Derek Cunningham, who was very friendly, personable, and helpful, did a great job of showing us the cars we were interested in and explaining all the features. These cars are so complicated these days, I was very impressed with his knowledge of all the systems. We ended up working out a good deal, not as great as advertised, but still one I was happy with. The closing process was straight forward and clean, no pressure for additional sales. It was a good experience and I am enjoying the new car. read more

My lease was coming to an end and Derek from Kia reached out to me via email. I told him our needs and budget and we worked nearly everything out via email. We stopped by the dealership for maybe 15 minutes to see the two models we'd narrowed it down to. Once we'd made a decision we worked cost and financing out via email. We made an appointment to go in at 11am. At that time Derek showed my husbands all the features and details of the car while I took care of the paperwork. As promised, we were out in an hour with no problems. That's as easy as it gets. The only negative is that the dealership is old and lacks much of the pizazz that many dealerships have. I made an appointment to bring in my car at 2:30 for a diagnostics test (which should take at MOST 3 hours). They did not tell me that it would take 6 hours just for diagnostics so I was surprised to hear this when I showed up that I would have to leave my car over night when I had no ride to take me home. They then told me it was because they were too busy. Which should be addressed when making appointments in the first place. I then got another answer saying that they always schedule them for 6 hour slots which is also strange to hear. I tried calling just to give the manager feedback and the answering service refused to do so. For some reason when I tried calling again the line will no longer connect me. I don't usually do things like this, I normally leave feedback in private since online reviews can be seen by everyone. However here we are! Looking at the other reviews this may just be a one time issue with miscommunication but just keep this in mind. read more

We stopped in to Beaverton Kia today to look at both a new lease (2017 and 2018) or buying a certified preowned Kia. Brian was our sales rep, we'd been talking with him for a few months as we were turning in an existing lease early. Brian showed us several used and a couple new vehicles, we test drove two and then we got down to numbers. We then worked with Cameron, the sales manager, on the numbers. Brian and Cameron were excellent. We felt they were up front and honest about pricing, incentives, rebates, etc. In the end we went with a lease and were happy with how the whole experience went. Paul in financing did our paperwork, props to Paul too. This was a great experience and I'm happy to give Beaverton Kia 5 stars. We look forward to being their customers. read more

CUSTOMER NO SERVICE Customer service is a lost art and it certainly doesn't abide at this place. My daughter took her work truck in on Friday and Mark(he was very nice) said it would be ready Monday by noon. Got a call on Monday 10am saying it wouldn't be ready because they lost the key and had to order one, which wasn't going to get there until Tuesday or Wednesday. They couldn't give a loaner either. She had no other choice but to wait. Went to pick up truck on Thursday and was interacting with the service manager, Rob. His customer service was non existent! She asked for a discount (Bill was $534) for the inconvenience (She missed a job on Tuesday because of them losing her key) and he said that he had already absorbed the price of the new key...really?!?! You're just replacing the key that I gave you, that you lost. He goes on to say that the inconvenience did not warrant a discount. Wow! Rob Corde was so rude in speaking with her! I called to speak with the GM, Sam Wiley, but you know how that goes...in a meeting and 2 days later, still no call back. I ended up speaking with Alex, explained what happened and although he seemed genuinely concerned, no call back. I wouldn't patronize these people not one more time! Your customers are who keeps you in business. You need to have Rob go through managerial/customer service training, before he runs all of your customers away. Also, Sam Wiley or Alex could've called me back...or maybe he's still in his meeting. read more

If I could put zero stars I would this place was so shit when it came to customer service and just respect in general! They let my sister leave with a car and signed paper on a specific payment and even pushed her to put more on a down payment and she did , just to find out that they messed up on everything and made her renewed contact not only raising her interest rate but her monthly payments too! She's had the car for two weeks. When we had questions about just giving the car back sense they are the ones who messed up not her , we were told to SUCK IT UP!! Like excuse me ? Suck it up ? On the fact that your company messed up and we were also told if she returned the car she wouldn't see a cent of her down payment ?! I recommend not to even waste your time or money here ! I was literally shaking with anger this morning over this dealership. I was going to go down to the dealership in person but when I say "head's were going to roll", I mean I seriously would have been needing bail money!! So I decided it best to sit and cool off and take out my frustration some hours later online... because what better way to hit those bottom liners than where it really matters... in their reviews. Buying a car is already a pretty overwhelming and intimidating event when you think of the money and the pressure you deal with. I avoided this event for the last few years by only buying used and for cash but I decided to take the plunge and purchase a 2014 Kia from Beaverton Kia 2 weeks ago. I went in fully prepared... I knew what I was looking for, the MSRP, the options, and most importantly with a pre approval from one of their preferred finance companies. Ball was in my court and I was feeling good!! I ended up getting the car I wanted and I have NO buyer's remorse about the CAR. But I have MAJOR buyer's remorse with who I did business with. This company is no better than your run of the mill used car dealerships that you EXPECT to deal with slimeball deceitful snakes who are poised and ready to pull some kind of bait and switch on you. I must admit I naively thought this place was different. No the salesman didn't try and offer the car at a good price-- he overbid it by 4k.... I assume to test my savvy & confidence.. I asked him to bring me and invoice showing what they purchased the car for and he brought me the invoice for a different vehicle... yes I memorized the stock number!! Nice try. But that's all part of the negotiating process.... never trust a snake. I was pre approved with an EXCELLENT APR, no money down etc loan and I told them I did not want my credit ran or them to try and finance me in house and they SAID no problem, running my credit was just "finalizing" my application with my preferred lender. My contract lists my preferred lender so I walked out of there pretty happy. Would I have liked the car a few thou' cheaper? Better yet, free?! Sure.... but it was good business. We both won, so I was satisfied. I bought some additional warranty type add on's, one of which would need to be done by the service dept later in the week... but nobody ever called. It was during the holidays okay, that's understandable. I figured I'd call after the new year. But then they were open enough for someone to call constantly begging me to give them a 10 on their survey so they could get their bonus! Hmm.. That's convenient. 3 days later I get a letter from the DMV with a change of address card. The dealer has updated my address... leaving out my unit # so now I have to go and change my address back to where I have always been. I assumed it was a small albeit annoying clerical error and didn't bother to complain. Then some southern accent woman calls me 12 days later saying she wants to verify my loan information... she works for some random finance company-- WHO ARE YOU?! I've dealt with identity theft before so I immediately told her I was already financed through my *preferred lender* as states on my contract. I went and called Beaverton Kia and after the pleasant answer I said I had already purchased a vehicle there... that's when the receptionist Diana went all "I'm bored with this conversation already" on me. It was like... oh we already got your money? You're a non MF factor! She stuck me on hold so long the call recycled and the phone rang again.... I thought she had transferred me but nope she answered again not knowing it was still me. She gave me all attitude thinking I had hung up and called back and told me "ok I know just wait a minute" and immediately placed me back on hold. 5 minutes later David picks up and tells me they decided to go with another finance company that gave them a better offer on my contract. Boldly tells me they made more money on it thru this company!! I tried to tell him I discussed this and was very clear with Jake when I bought the car I did not want nor need in house financing. He basically said "tough we got a better deal". The finance company they chose FOR ME even though my contract states a different company has some of the worse reviews Yelp and the like has ever seen which is why I would have never chosen this company. David just repeated himself that this is what the computer says & he doesn't know what deal I made since he wasn't there and that they already received their money the deal is done and that's that. Then he HUNG UP ON ME. LIVID!!!!! I never even had the chance to go into why I hadn't been contacted about the service I paid extra on. I took 10 hits to my credit report for inquiries they ran unnecessarily. Then to be talked to like I didn't just drop 5 figures in this place last week?! The audacity!! Do yourself a favor take your business to a dealer that values your patronage even AFTER the deal is made. read more

I left here with a car, I was happy to get one considering I have not driven a vehicle in over a year and a half. I test drove a Forte, and decided to get it. When I woke up the next morning I noticed a huge scratch that took off the paint on the right rear bumper. I drove the car straight home, and I had to return to the dealership the next morning to put my down-payment on the car. Now when I was driving the car it was getting darker out, it was a black car, and I should have fully inspected it considering it was a new/used car. I asked the manager the next morning if the car had any previous accident history, and his response was; "no the title is clear." I never asked if the title was clear. So he basically went around the question. There were other little scratches around the vehicle, so he set me up with the service department to bring it in and have them buff it out. When I asked the guy I spoke with in the service department if he could touch up the bumper as well, he said that since the paint has been completely removed it would need to go to their body shop to have work done. He called the body shop and got a quote of $275 to do the repair. I feel like if I am buying a car for practically a brand new price, then they should have to fix it, after all, it is still under factory warranty. Again, I feel like an idiot for putting my trust in a dealer for a car dealership. I told them when I met them that I am hesitant because dealers usually are pushy asshole salesmen, but they changed my mind for that brief moment of time. I asked him to fix it two different times, and I was basically pushed aside, and by doing this, they basically restored that faith to never trust in your dealer. I know that I did not hit anyone, and there is no way someone hit my new car over night. This is why I know that I did not do the damage. It just stings is all, and everyday I walk out to my car, I see it, it is so ugly with that little bit of damage. So that's my experience from buying a car from Beaverton Kia. They begged me to write a good review 4 times the first week I bought the car, and I almost did it, but now I am glad I waited to see how they really treat their customers. When you call the dealership the person answering the phone says, "how can I make you smile today?" UPDATE 1/23/16: Almost immediately after posting my original review, I was contacted by a member of the Bob Lanphere digital marketing team asking how they could help. I replied about all the ways that I'd been ignored before so I doubted their sudden offer to help would be any better. That was the last I heard from that person. On 11/18/15 I received a call from the service manager who said, "I thought we came to an agreement". I then reminded him that the agreement was that he'd have the GM call me like I had originally requested (several times). Once again he said he'd have the GM call. Needless to say, I haven't yet received that call, or any call, since. All this started when I suddenly got an email alert saying my rear brakes urgently needed to be replaced - for $279.95. I'm like, "WHAT?! WHY AM I JUST HEARING ABOUT THIS NOW!?!?!" During my long in-person talk with the service manager (see below), *I* pointed out that their service folks were lazy and weren't using their faulty software properly so their "Recommendations" weren't being included in their reminder emails - because they weren't in writing! In my case, as the brakes started to show wear, while the inspection "Observation" was being recorded, there wasn't a "Recommendation" included which apparently is required for the service to be mentioned in the email. So. I became paranoid about my brakes failing and rushed to a highly respected local alignment and brake shop for a 2nd opinion. There I was told, "You've still got a lot left on your breaks. In fact, one set has 50% left and the other 40%. AND, you'll know when it's time for new brakes, they'll start to squeal." To recap: 1) Beaverton Kia's service writers don't document everything / don't use their software properly 2) Cars have two sets of brakes - at $275-ish per set, you'd probably need time to prepare for that expense 3) Brakes squeal when they need replaced 4) Beaverton Kia... well... get a 2nd opinion when they say you urgently need a service THEN THERE'S THIS: During the oil change last summer, before the oil change visit that revealed their incompetent service, my valve stems were replaced because of a recall. I'd never had problems before but the recall said it needed to be done. Less than 72 hours later, my low tire pressure light came on. Beaverton Kia said I must've gotten a defective valve stem. I get it, shit happens, so I went back to have it replaced. Well. Since last summer, my air pressure light has come on at least once a month. While frustrating, I didn't think much of it because I thought the air loss was natural and was affected by the weather. When I started tracking which tires were low, it became clear there was an issue with one particular tire. Guess what that was. A FUALTY VALVE STEM!!! That was found and replaced by my tire shop. They couldn't say for certain if the valve stem was defective or if it was installed incorrectly, but they suspected that it was the latter. Regardless, Beaverton Kia replaced four perfectly fine valve stems with two that failed. Not sure where to lay blame on this one but ultimately as the customer, 50% success rate is not good. BOTTOM LINE: If I could give Beaverton Kia -5 stars I would. Take what you will from that. Original review 11/15/2015 I started going to Beaverton Kia a couple years ago for service because it's closer than the dealership I bought my car from. In the beginning, the service was consistently good but the place has since changed management (and other personnel) and it's now just awful. The place is a comedy of errors that apparently leadership has no interest in addressing. I've tried contacting them via Twitter and their own survey and never got a response. I stopped back by and talked to the service manager for at least 30 minutes and he said he'd have the general manager contact me but still, nothing. It's obvious these people don't want my business and don't care about losing other customers. That's fine, it's not like they're the only KIA dealership in town. This isn't the only Bob Lanphere dealership with horrible service, I've heard another Lanphere location is just as bad. If you're looking for a new KIA or need service for your existing KIA, go someplace else. Simple automotive maintenance is a fact of life for car owners and it really shouldn't leave you mad about the experience each time you need to have something done. read more
