We were seated at the bar and ordered a bottle of wine to start our celebration. Once our table was ready, the hostess came to pick us up and escort us to our table! We were seated and provided menus and ordered the Shrimp Cocktail and the Wedge Salad to start/share. Shrimps were DELICIOUS but DAMN was that cocktail sauce SPIIIIICY! I couldnt eat anymore and left the rest to my boyfriend and focused more on the Wedge! This was my first time having a wedge, so I cant base this off any other previous wedge consumptions, but this was delicious, too! Our waitress was super personable and knowledgeable about the menu as well as the history of the restaurant! This is the oldest steakhouse in Charlotte!? My boyfriend had ordered the prime rib (comes in Queen and King sizes - make sure to clarify which you want, the Queen is HUUGGEE) and I ordered smaller steak medallions. He ordered a loaded baked potato and broccoli as his two sides and I ordered the baked sweet potato (toppings on the side - I prefer mine plain) and brussel sprouts! We honestly ate everything so quick because it was that delicious! So no pics of our actual dinner, but just take my word for it. GENEROUS serving sizes with quality you can literally taste! After our dinner, our waitress had brought out a small chocolate cake slice with a candle for my boyfriend's birthday!! This was such an incredible detail that made ME feel so special because I had only mentioned "birthday" when I called to make the reservation - it's reassuring to know the staff here REALLY listens and doesnt just try to rush you off the phone or get you out the door to turn their tables. This is a Charlotte staple for a reason. Give me this over any other steakhouse in town. I want a great steak, with 2 sides and a fresh salad without paying for each thing individually. The service here is some of the best in the city. Ask anyone how long they've been there and you'll see they must be treated well to have the tenure they do. The lowest number I've heard was 18 years! I've never had a bad meal, and I love you can BYO wine with a small corkage fee. The filet medallions are my go to, with creamed spinach and a cheesy potato. They give you a beer cheese and crackers to start, and you can ask for bread which I feel is a best kept secret. Only thing I'd skip here is the dessert, focus on the mains and appetizers. The meatballs and shrimp cocktail are my favorite appetizers. Can't wait for our next experience! read more

I wasn't going to give them 5 stars due to our most recent visit, but the way they handled the problem was SO professional: we got there without a reservation and were seated right away. Someone filled up our water glasses but we were sitting there for about 20 minutes without a waiter coming up. We finally went up and mentioned something to the hostess and she took full responsibility saying it was her fault, she forgot to notify a waitress. She also gave us a free appetizer and apologized profusely. So great! From there, the service was amazing!!! She did a great job giving recommendations, and making sure we had everything we needed. The food was delicious as always! The shrimp scampi appetizer was amazing!!! We could've eaten the butter sauce it came in by itself lol. They also gave complimentary cheese and crackers as an appetizer. They have a beer, wine and cocktail menu. The steak is fabulous and it comes with SO much food. We love a date night at Beef and Bottle. The ambiance is something I adored from our first dining experience there several years ago. Old school, wooden booths and crooner music together create an atmosphere I feel like coming back to again and again. The Melba toast and cheese spread are both fantastic to start off your meal. My husband chose the chopped steak with mushroom gravy along with a soup and salad. I went with the trio medallions with mushrooms and mashed potatoes. We typically share from the entire smorgasbord, so a variety is always great. The French onion soup is an award winner and I can see why. Delicious, rich flavor without too much salt. Their homemade blue cheese dressing is also one of our favorites. Everything about our meal and server was above and beyond. He took his time letting us know what the specials were and how to get the best bang for our buck (one of the specials really is a great deal and I'll be back for it). 3.5/5 My husband loves steak. So we have set out to try all the places (or try to). This was our first visit to beef n bottle. First, everyone is SUPER friendly. The service was wonderful, never felt rushed. The decor is also wonderful, I love the feel of the old school place. For appetizers we got the crab stuffed mushrooms and oysters Rockefeller. Both were outstanding. Great flavor, came out hot. My husband was also a fan of the complimentary pimento cheese with crackers. Main course: I opted for the combo of filet and scallops with mashed potatoes and mac and cheese. The filet was wonderful but the scallops took the top - they were as good as our server said! My husband got the filet with lobster tail with Brussels and Mac sides which was a lot more food than he thought but also said well worth it! Lobster was delicious! Our only complaint is that our sides came out being luke warm. I would have said something but we had our 1 year old son who was chowing down on some potatos and mac haha. It did take a while to get the check and for them to run the card, but it did get busy at the 7pm hour so understandable. Overall, I would go back to try some other goodies. Had an amazing evening at Beef N' Bottle celebrating my girlfriends birthday. We had the pleasure of being taken care of by Benita. Benita was very informed on the menu and specials. As well as having a bright personality. She made us giggle several times. The food was amazing. The white cheddar spread and crackers was phenom. We went on Monday which was half price wine so after a round of cocktails we split a bottle of marques. We started with the oyster Rockefeller and they were a great size and well seasoned. I had the fillet MR and scampi scallops. My girlfriend had the fillet and scampi shrimp. The scampi was amazing. The scallops were massive! The steaks were cooked to temp and well seasoned. Thousand islands dressing and ranch were very good and all the vegetables were very fresh. They brought my girlfriend a complimentary piece of chocolate cake which was decorated for her special day. The decor and atmosphere is super old school and makes you feel like you've transported back in time. Shrimp cocktail app had shrimp nearly as big as your head! I put all my faith in a Charlotte favorite, and it mostly paid off. It was my mothers birthday, and she loves steak. Charlotte has a decent variety of high end to mid level steak houses. Beef and Bottle happens to top most list year after year. So I figured we go with the oddly underrated, but seemingly peoples champion. I have to start with customer service which in itself is 5 stars. I didn't have a reservation, and didn't properly do my home work on Beef and Bottle being reservation only. I stopped in around 7pm on Friday night, and asked could I have a seat for 3. They explained they didn't and informed me of their policy, so I walked back to the car to inform my mother...but as we get ready to pull off the manager comes all the way outside to the car, and says she can put a table together for us. That spoke volumes for the quality of care given to the patrons. While I didn't expect that, or would have been upset that they said no, I was just throughly impressed with the response. The ambiance is vintage, but not in a bad way. If you have ever seen "Goodfellas" or a throwback mob movie it gives you that feel. A different example would be a traditional old school Italian eatery'. It feels like you've stepped back into time (again in a good way). On a Friday night they are moving non stop, the servers move with a urgency and purpose without feeling too frantic or distracting. It's entertaining to put down your phone, and just watch them work. The food was great, most of it anyway. My mother had the filet minion and it was outstanding! Probably the best I've had in recent memory with excellent flavor, the tenderness was unreal. I had the chop steak, which is the only reason I've giving a 4 star over a 5. I was actually expecting actual steak (think smothered tips). I'm not down voting based on my expectation vs what I got because even though the description isn't clear it's basically oversized hamburger meat. The first time it came out, it had the blue cheese I asked them not to put on it. But our original server got sick and didn't pass on the information. So the second one I got was rushed out, it just tasted like quality hamburger meat without any distinct taste, including salt or pepper. So it was good but not memorable or anything I would order again. David our new server was like a server ...ninja assassin. He would grab dirty dishes, and appear out of nowhere to ask "Sooo how does that taste?". I greatly appreciate how seamlessly he took over and even brought my mother out a ice cream birthday surprise! The ambiance was that of wood paneling and can candlelit tables that harkened back to an era of yesteryear. We were seated at a cozy table for two in the back which was perfect for the ocassion, our 21st wedding anniversary. We started are meal off with an order of Oysters Rockefeller and a complimentary glass of their house champange since my wife mentioned the occasion. The oysters were plump and the dish was super cheesy but good. I followed that up with the ribeye steak that was cooked to a perfect medium and it came with a side, of which I chose the Red Skin Garlic Mashed Potatoes. The garlic flavor was mild but enough to compliment the steak beautifully. The service was attentive and friendly, although there were moments when it felt a bit slow. However, the staff's warmth and knowledge about the menu made up for it. They were more than happy to offer recommendations and ensure we had everything we needed. Overall, Beef 'N Bottle Steakhouse is a must-visit for steak lovers in Charlotte. The ribeye steak and garlic mashed potatoes are a winning combination that I highly recommend! I definitely understand why BnB is a Charlotte staple. It is an old school steakhouse all the way which is good but it also has a weird vibe. Let me explain... Me and a friend visited on a Tuesday night, reservations already made. When we showed up, the hostess brought us to a table right in front of the restrooms. My friend had an issue with this (because being the ONLY black people in the restaurant at the time, it felt, how should I say, POINTED?) and asked for another table. The hostess was like, well we don't have that many open tables but magically found us another table in another room. Granted, I don't know how tables/sections are reserved but we were there at 5:30 pm on a weeknight and the place was not full. Anyway, while we walked through the restaurant, we noticed the black and white photos of celebrities such as Lucille Ball, Joan Crawford, Elvis and the like. There were ceramic statues of black jazz players placed throughout which happened to be the only black faces we saw. We didn't walk through the ENTIRE restaurant so if there are photos of black celebs up elsewhere, great but we didn't see them near the front. I bring this up because it gave the restaurant a Get Out (film by Jordan Peele, google if you've never heard/seen) vibe. That's the best way I can describe it and my friend felt the same. With that out of the way, let's discuss the food. They offer cheese and crackers for a complimentary table grazer. I'm talking crackers wrapped in plastic and the artificial cheese type of cheese and cracker. Nothin' fancy to see there with that! They have daily drink specials but, honestly, this is not the place to order a cocktail. If you must drink, get a glass of wine and keep it moving. We started off with wedge salads which were everything you'd want in a steakhouse wedge. Perfect starter. I ordered the filet (topped with their signature onion ring) with a sweet potato and it was delish. An excellent steakhouse meal. The food was the main and only highlight. Weird to start with the creamed spinach but dear god it was delicious! I literally licked the bowl clean. My trio of medallions each had their own unique sauce from blue cheese to red wine. Every bite was saucy steaky perfection. Having an option to get 3 sauces? Nothing better for the girl who can't decide. I really don't get it. This place was a huge disappointment. I've been twice just to make sure but the conclusion was the same, not at all impressive. Yes, they've been in this space forever and are probably one of the older CLT restaurants but neither visit was satisfying for me. I go out to steak restaurants quite a bit (in fact we are going to Steak 48 again tonite). There are so many great steak restaurants, it's a good problem to have :) Beef and Bottle is a Charlotte staple since 1958. We sat in the back room and it has old magazine covers and advertisements from the 50s on the walls. Our waiter had a good attitude and was good until the end of the meal. There were 2 people with birthdays and they got their ice cream dessert with a candle. But then he disappeared. So, my husband and I had to flag down a different waiter to order our creme brulee. One couple also wanted to order dessert but they were never asked and left disappointed since they were not as assertive as my husband and I. We didn't realize they wanted dessert or we would have pointed the waiter we flagged down in their direction. My husband got the bison ribeye. It had an excellent flavor. If you come here, I highly recommend it. The rest of us got filets and one guy got the 1 lb sirloin. The rest of us agreed that our steaks were just ok. They didn't have much flavor. Not sure how other high-end restaurants are seasoning their steaks, but those definately have more flavor somehow. Mine was ordered at medium but parts were actually medium rare. The steak was also just a tad bit dry. We all agreed that the steaks were just ok. However EVERYTHING else was absolutely excellent. I liked the crackers and spreadable cheese, to be different. My Easy Street vodka and elderflower liqueur drink was good size and yummy. The salad was fantastic with their homemade dressings selection. We all commented on how wonderful the clam chowder is and the french onion soup was good. The creme brulee was excellent. The grilled scallops I had with my filet were big and juicy. This is my 3rd time dining here and this review is based on my most recent dining experience. I came here with my significant other on a Friday night with an 8pm reservation made a week in advance to celebrate our anniversary. We arrived at 7:55 and were not sat until 8:15. We received the table directly next to the bathroom. I do understand someone has to sit here, just not ideal when celebrating a special occasion. Our server was the bartender which was tough since we were across the room in the corner, nowhere near the bar. She was very nice when we saw her, but it was rare. We were never asked if it was a special occasion. Our food took a long time to arrive. We ended up ordering everything at once. We didn't even receive our appetizer until almost 9pm. The food we ordered was really good but unfortunately our entrees were luke warm. Since it was so late in the night we just ate them, but I just wish they had been at a better temperature. We ordered the Crab Dip, Famous Salad, Shrimp Scampi, and Trio Medallions. I think this is the best Crab Dip I've had! I wanted to eat it with a spoon. Salad dressings are all homemade and tasty! I liked the Shrimp Scampi but because it got cold quickly due to the arrival temperature being lower, it just became colder drawn butter that started to thicken up. My boyfriend ordered medium steak, they came out more medium rare, but it was excellent steak no matter what. Overall, I do love the old time ambiance of this establishment and the food is great. Unfortunately, I really just don't think we received the experience and service that matched the price, and that we had hoped for celebrating our anniversary. It didn't feel special. I don't think I I'll come back here for a special occasion. Happy Valentine"s to all , I just wanted to take a moment to comment on my visit tonight at Beef and Bottle Restaurant, located in Charlotte. My wife & I visited there tonight probably one of the busiest nights of the year for any restaurant. They were top notch from the welcome to the service from our waiter & server to thank you at the Door. We had shrimp for appetizers and of course steak for main course. They were kind enough to o bring us dessert on the house . I have to be honest about a year ago we went there with our Daughters & there spouses , one of my daughters had never been there & we brag about it all the time so she wanted to try it . Unfortunately it was disappointing and I explained to the manager and he wanted to make it right and he did . He also asked next time we're here let him know , but I didn't want do that didn't want to special treatment. So tonight but us back on track to be going there regularly again .
