Never had Beeps before, this was the first time ordering their breakfast, it was not quite what I expected. I order the Hobo Omelette and this was not what I expected the omelette to look like. It looked all sloppy and the cheese did make a good impression on the omelette. It just looked so disgusting. I mean Denny's Omelette looks more satisfying then this. And when my husband called them back, they really didn't have an explanation for why their dishes looks so sloppy. This does not look like an Omelette anyone wants to eat. I sometimes work in a recording studio about 2-3 miles from here, so we went for sandwiches. I ordered a charbroiled chicken breast sub sandwich to go. I received it 23 minutes later (!). The sandwich tasted, good, but nothing amazing. I got the full 12", and it was rather large, so I ended up eating just half of it, and I'm a fairly big eater. I've eaten burgers there before, and they tasted a bit better than the chicken sub, but also not amazing. There's a "Chicago Burrito" on the menu that has pastrami, chili, onions (cheese extra), which sounds like it could either be interesting and yummy or stomach-bending, I'm not sure which. I'm guessing that their shakes and breakfast stuff might be good, but I don't know. If I come back again, I definitely will not go during peak lunch hours. read more

My friend and I were in the area and were hungry. Thanks to yelp! we found this place to try. It's super cute. They have a small inside area where you can order and sit as well as outside seating and an outside window to order. I got the turkey melt and it was super good. The sourdough bread was crispy and delicious and the grilled onions and tomato with the melted cheese were perfect. My friend and I split a chocolate shake too, which was good ol' fashioned yum! They have a huge menu and everyone was very nice. Reasonable prices. The parking lot is tiny. There were spots when we arrived, but I could see that parking might be a bit of a pain sometimes. This was the first time in a long time I didn't finish a burger and fries. Not the number one, two or five place I would want to go to in the valley. I've been wanting to try this place since I moved to Van Nuys. My boyfriend got me a steak and cheese sub but I never had the chance to eat. Today we decided to grab a quick bite and thought of beeps. We waited exactly 52 mins for our two sandwiches, two fries, mozarella sticks and coffee shake. I was a little upset coz I was already hungry and there have been people who got their food first before us. We could've ate there but the place is packed. They gave us a little card. Kind of a rewards card, buy 12 sub/sandwich get 1 free burger/sandwich. Went home to eat and all of my disappointments went away. Their steak and cheese is awesome! The sides went very well with the sandwich and their shake was really creamy and full of flavor. Worst pastrami dip sandwich I have ever had. The pastrami might as well have been shoe leather. No condiments or indication of no condiments on the menu. There are two different places (outside or inside) where you can place your order which could be at times confusing. This is fantastic. My previous reviews for Norms and Mels both expressed a disappointment in the price tag associated with what is otherwise a nice diner experience. Beeps is here to fix that. I'm so happy here, it reminds me of my favorite drive-in back home in Indiana and the food is fantastic. Huge selection, but not overwhelming either. I know I was tempted to buy a little bit of everything, and with these prices, I could've, but resisted. Need to have something to look forward to next time, and there will definitely be a next time. Both were really good! They have a nice seating area outside and you can have your dog sit next to you so they don't have to be sitting in the hot car while you eat! The place is small but cute! We had breakfast here a few weekends ago and it was excellent. My husband had a sausage breakfast burrito which was enormous. I had a bite and it was tasty. I got a breakfast plate with 2 eggs, sourdough toast, bacon, and potatoes. The bacon was crispy and I think it came with four pieces. The sourdough bread was good. The real star of the meal was the potatoes- they are cooked with paprika and onions, and very tasty. Prices are great. We'll definitely come back! read more

The outside of the building looks old, and the inside looks like a 50's diner... but it has a few pictures of the 60's & 70's. The music is mostly 50's & 60's... just my style!
