This review is a bit overdue, but nothing is ever too late! We came here in January 2021 on a night that felt like it was one of the coldest winter nights sitting in the tent outdoor. Even though we had to keep our coats on the whole time, we had so much fun! We were here to try the Fire and Ice menu ($50 pp). For drinks, we had the following: *The Zero - a must get! *Beetle Toddy - it was a typical hot toddy..but great for those cold days And we decided to get two dessert drinks at the end of our meal as they were fun and sweet. I thought Mint chocolate was slightly stronger than cookies and scream. *mint chocolate RIP *cookies and scream Now comes the food. At first, I thought the portions would be small, but you can choose three dishes each, so we were full by the end of it. The menu might have changed since the winter, but we enjoyed most of the dishes..some notable dishes were mushroom soup, pork belly, and Sweeney beef. Mac n cheese was highly recommended by the server, but we didn't really care for it. The entertainment itself was another highlight of the night. A fun time at the Beetle House. They had a few really good actors entertaining everyone as you ate and they were good at what they do. Especially Beetlejuice who was funny! The drinks were awesome with smoke coming out of them and really cold. I'm pretty sure they used dry ice in them to give it that effect and it was cool. They offer a prize fix menu of a three course meal for 60 pp. with up charges for steak. The service was great with a waiter that also dressed the part and food runners that were on point. The food was good, the risotto was delicious. My wife's salmon was really good and the presentation was fantastic. I ordered the Killer Coq Au Vin a chicken dish to try it, the presentation was great but but the dish wasn't enough to satisfy a hungry man. Dessert was again ok, edible but not fantastic as the bread pudding was too thick. Nonetheless I went there for the experience and I certainly got that. I would recommend the place for the drinks and the experience but take the salmon or the steak because they were really good. read more

Disappointing experience - came here for my sister's 18th birthday, and she traveled 2 hours just for this spot. We made the reservation several weeks prior, but we still waited over 40 minutes to be seated after our (on time) arrival. The manager was unkind about it. This location is small and very busy - but when we were finally sat, we were seated in the back room which is much roomier and better for large groups. Our server was very kind and accommodating. Unfortunately, we didn't see much of the actors - only two and they didn't spend much time by us (maybe because we were in the back area). It's a shame because that's the whole reason we came. But they did a nice job from what I did see - funny and never broke character! The food was great however, much better than expected - but very overpriced! Had a great time sitting at the bar ! Lexi was quick attentive and the drinks were so good! Was a little busy but didn't take forever and the bubbling drinks make it worth it. We had edwards lemonade and the suggested bio exorcism.. then the black lagoon was great! The staff was nice and greeted me. Host (forgot her name) was great too and super accompanying and funny. Went here for my sister's belated birthday dinner we started off with these so cool drinks with smoke coming out of them (dry ice), I had the bio-exorcism delicious my sister had MIDSOMMAR and my husband had ALICE'S CUP O'TEA ( this is kick in the behind-not a drinker watch out) my hubby loved it lol. We then had appetizers the JACK'S JAMBALAYA RISOTTO delicious-sis had GIANT PEACH SALAD (GF) (V/VG OPTIONAL excellent. Moving on to entrees the BLOOM'S BIG FISH such a big piece and amazing flavors the wasabi cabbage and ginger slaw was perfect-the men had KILLER COQ AU VIN my husband loved it so tasty and creamy chicken cooked in wine -portion could have better for a big man. Off to desserts ordered the DREAD PUDDING- to be honest very think not like our normal Spanish puddin -but the Carmel Sauce, with Pistachio Ice Cream omg loved it. My hubby ordered the DEATH BY CHOCOLATE again dense but again if you are a chocolate lover this is perfect for you had a taste it was pretty good. I made a reservation through Yelp knowing there would be a chance we'd not be able to dine without one. There is an automatic charge for the resy, if you don't show up. So just show up. Sunday evening 5:25, we were early. Our resy was 5:45 pm. When you walk in, it is tiny. The corridor is tiny and the space at the bar to get to the bathroom are tiny. The restaurant itself is like a rectangular hall. Our hostess was sooooo freakin nice. She said would text us to let us know the table was ready. We walked around outside in the cold rain because there was no area to wait, so that sucked because my kids were cold and wet. 5:50 came and so I went inside and asked about the table. She said she was doing her best to get tables moving. Another customer said there was a small bench on the other side of the bar we could wait at. 6:28 is when we were seated. So, 45 min past reservation time. We were seated at a table in the corner by the glass window that divides the back and front part of building. Which would've been nice but there was a large opening in the curtain where I could see servers, expediters, and characters standing in a sort of tent. That being said, when the curtain is open, I caught a glimpse of an employee in a maid costume and orange hair, picking her nose, typing on her phone and doing other stuff with her fingers that are gonna go touch and serve plates, without a handwashing. So gross. Whoever our server was, she was great. Kudos for the staff for keeping it cool and calm under pressure. Yall, just expect to go online before you make a resy and take a look at what everything costs before you go to the restaurant and lose your ever loving shit the bill is $350. It's New York. You get dinner and a show and that's what you're paying for. We did not order drinks or sodas. We didn't upgrade anything but 2 fries and our order was $305 with the 18% gratuity included. Our server was very honest and said the 18% is included and goes to the entire staff and anything additional goes straight to the server. I tipped an additional $20 for her because she was just great. Anyone that can be that happy and have that vibe while shit is burning down around them is next level server status. Total bill near $325 as expected. EXPECT TO SPEND $60 + %18 gratuity per person and don't be a dick about it. They gave you a show and delicious, premium food. Don't act like you didn't know! It is a set 3 course at $60 per for the basic meals, no upgrades. Upgrades include a "special dust" on the appetizer fries which is in very fine print somewhere for an additional $6. My husband and I got LaLaurie Fries and Devil's Breath. They both came out super cold, but they were very tasty. For the amount of money we're spending for French fries, you'd think they'd come out at least warm. Meh. My son had a pork belly app, very tasty if you're into southern flavor and grits. My daughter had a Mac n Cheese and she said it was tasty, just also cold. Sounds like the restaurant needs just a couple more expediters on the dinner shift to prevent food from getting that cold. Entree was 2 burgers, fish, and bolognese. My husband and I got our orders first, and saw the two burgers come out but went right past us to another table that came in long after us. I was like wtf?? So our food sat on the table while we waited for our kids burgers to show. Server was apologetic, but she's not the one who delivered our food. It was the male manager with plugs in his ears that sent the burgers to a wrong table. My kids sat there for about 5 minutes while my food got colder. I wasn't about to eat in front of them without their food. What kind of mom does that? So we waited. The burgers are massive and come with scissors, it's all very cute. Everything was perfectly cooked. My salmon was crispy on the outside and perfectly cooked in the middle. Loved the grilled pineapple touch. My husband's bolognese was cold but it also sat on the table for 5 min because we aren't rude to our kids and eat in front of their face when they're starving. Our server was super apologetic and it wasn't even her fault. Dessert was chocolate cake for my son, 2 bread puddings, and an ice cream sundae. All delicious and great portion sizes. All employees were super friendly. The issues seemed like they were understaffed by a few people. Everyone working was running back and forth. I felt bad they were under so much stress. The characters were excellent. I'm sorry I called Oogie a menacing pain in the butt but gosh he really is, in the movie. He's not quite as menacing in the restaurant, but very sweet and playful with the kids. A perfect Oogie Boogie. This is a one time visit for my family. We did it, it was fantastic and I suggest anyone that loves Tim Burton and has kids, to visit this place when they're in NYC. Best bet is to reserve, know you're gonna wait, and that dinner is $60 per with an %18 auto gratuity, so put your patient pants on and deal with it. read more

Very disappointed that we were sat in the back where there is no view of the "main" acts and there are little to no halloween vibes in the back. Some "scary" decor but not like the front part. I'm glad I visited for their special, Tim Burton theme, "Fire and Ice, " menu for the winter I happened upon on Pulsd. My date and had a good time despite the weather being a tad cold. I was seated right away and I made sure I got there as early as possible to avoid paying that cancelation fee, whew. The outdoor tent is not too big but it was doable. The tapas sample for $50 per person came with three options plus two drinks, can't really beat that. Each plate we had was very good as well as the drinks were not lacking. The hostess and waitress were nice and attentive and the Edward scissor hands character kept us entertained. Under these circumstances the kitchen was fast and the staff did well. The food was great, the staff were extremely friendly as well as Wednesday Adam's that greeted us at the door. The performances from the Magician (we are still mind blown from the 13ft card trick), Lydia singing "Creep" and Mrs. Lovett from Sweeney Todd singing and asking us how are food was and gracefully giving us the option of what food we could become from her Barber Shop was just amazing! I gave them my credit card (earning me 3 points per dollar on dinning) and they went through the motions as though it were charged but it wasn't. For the price the meal was underwhelming- dinner for 5 and 4 cocktails total was nearly $450, which felt like a lot for burgers and pasta but once you factor in live singing and meet and greets (gratuity included in my total) that is justifiable . We appreciated the options for vegans , omnivores and gluten free folks on one menu. It was a great night for a mixed age group / tweens and adults left happy . Our server was really pleasant and fun to chat with. Both bathrooms smelled like a recently peed in subway car which was pretty absurd for the type of establishment it was . I do hope the owners / management will pay more attention to keeping the lavatories clean in the future because for me that was a deal breaker in ever going back or recommending it. read more

Took my girlfriend here on a date. I would 100% recommend making a reservation. First of all, the vibe of the whole restaurant is insanely cool. Whoever designed the placed did an incredible job. It's literally a party in there, so if you don't like a loud dining atmosphere I wouldn't recommend going to Beetle House (everyone has their own tastes). We are not those people though so the loud music and bustle was nice. The place feels very alive (which is an ironic thing to say considering their whole theme) The show was so fun and sweet. I don't usually enjoy table-side shows but this one made me smile and not at all anxious. Actors were super good. Service was fast considering how packed the restaurant is and we had no mishaps with our order either. Waiter was super sweet. The food is incredible. Compliments to the chef. I had the mac and cheese and girlfriend had bacon and grits. I think about that mac and cheese on the daily. For entrees we had bolognese and the hamburger. Bolognese was delicious, standard, well done. The hamburger was divine (coming from someone who hates bacon and eggs on anything, I polished off the whole thing) and it comes with a souvenir! Dessert was amazing too. I'm not a huge fan of sweets but the bread pudding is packed with flavor and I still recommend it to anyone who has a sweet tooth. The sundae is delicious too, I only got to try one spoon though. It was finished very quickly. 100/10 recommend. Love this place and want to go back every day. read more

I came in here because I wanted to check out the interior since I love Tim Burton so much. But they had closed down the bar so I was only able to take a picture of the interior. Loved the purple and green highlights and the huge skulls and movie memorabilia all strewn across the walls. I want to come back and drink something here next time. But it definitely gave off dive bar vibes rather than a really nice upscale one. But next time, we'll try to get in earlier so the bartender won't turn us away. read more
