We picked hot and sour soup, vegetable egg roll, and fried rice for the options. I was most impressed with the fried rice. It was hot and steamy and fresh. It was not oily or greasy at all. All of the vegetables tasted good. Nothing was soggy or overcooked. The char flavor from the wok came through incredibly. I've paid a lot more for fried rice that's not even 1/10 as good as this. Was very excited to see that wood ear mushrooms were used for the hot and sour soup. This is really hard to find. You can tell they don't just use a powder mix - the egg and tofu were also very silky and not hard or overcooked. The garlic chicken was definitely also a surprise. It actually tasted like garlic and chicken! They didn't just use a whole bunch of jar garlic. I actually did not see any pieces of jar garlic at all, which was great! But the garlic flavor was absolutely delicious and very prominent. I did not get a picture of the general tso's tofu, but it was excellent; crispy on the outside and silky on the inside. Upon entering Everest Grill and wrap I was greeted by Jimmy, the manager. He shared that the restaurant was previously Maui Hawaiian BBQ and they took over ownership last year. That's how I found out they decided to still serve Hawaiian BBQ but also have Nepalese dishes as well as wraps on the menu. The service he provided was amazing. He took time to go over the menu, all the popular items, and shared detailed information about the items that were new to me. Now let's get into the food and drink because it was absolutely amazing. I really don't have anything negative to say about anything that I tried. To drink, I had a mango lassi for $3.99. It was a beautiful balance of sweet and tart. The yogurt gives it this subtle tart flavor and the mango did not over power it. It was creamy and perfectly balanced. It was a nice refreshing treat on this extremely warm day. The mixed grill plate comes with grilled teriyaki chicken, bbq beef, and a short rib (includes Mac salad, rice, and steamed cabbage) for only $15.99. The meats were juicy, tender, and had a perfectly balanced teriyaki flavor. It wasn't too sweet or salty. The Everest Spicy Chicken (includes Mac salad, rice, and steamed cabbage) for $13.99 and is paired with an in house spicy sauce. This chicken is not glazed, it has a spice rub. It's nothing like I've tried in the past. The rub is not burn your tongue spicy, it's more of a warmth to your pallet. I really enjoyed the crispness of this chicken and the Nepalese spices used to make it. When you pair the chicken with the spicy sauce it comes with, then you get that true spice and it all comes together as the perfect bite. Which is perfect for me because I love heat! The Crispy Fried Shrimp (6 pieces) for $8.99 were exactly as described. I was surprised because for the price you get 6 butterflied fried shrimp that are a decent size and not full of batter. This is a simple dish and I chose to pair it with the katsu sauce. The Spam Masubi (2 pieces) for $6.99 were also good. The rice was nicely steamed but still had a bite, the spam was grilled with some type of teriyaki glaze, and the seaweed was not soggy. My highlight of the evening and out of everything I tried was the Everest Chicken MoMo (10 pieces) for $12.99. This is another Nepalese dish and their pan fried chicken dumplings. They also come steamed. When I tell you this is a flavor bomb, I mean it. The dumplings were lightly fried with crispy edges. They were juicy and full of this deliciously seasoned chicken. They are definitely some of the best dumplings I've had. They're paired with two sauces. One is a mild and well seasoned sauce. The other is the same spicy hot sauce that comes with the Everest Spicy Chicken. It was suggested to mix them and it was a spot on suggestion. The steamed rice in all the dishes was fluffy and fresh. The Mac Salad was a10. Next time I'm requesting all Mac or more Mac. It's creamy but not too mayo-e. It's full of flavor and has its own Stephanie Lopez tastes. They also offer Teriyaki sauce, Katsu sauce, and Louisiana Hot Sauce at their sauce bar. As for the ambiance, it's giving Hawaiian vibes. It's a casual establishment with table and chair dining. The decor is full of Hawaiian inspiration and I love the surfboards. Please don't sleep on this place. It is a must try. I know I'll be back for more food. Especially the Chicken MoMo...
