-5 worst place I've ever eaten and service was horrible. Don't waste your time. Way to over priced.

I travel like thirty miles just for the Pasta E Fagioli! Their Risotto Tre Funghi - risotto tossed with three types of mushrooms and parmesan cheese in a white wine sauce is an acquired taste that I have acquired! Awesome! We came here as a party of 5, looking for some very nice Italian eats. This place is located at the Aventura Mall. When you walk in, it feels like you are walking into a real Italian eatery, with these beautiful floors and this wonderful décor. Unfortunately, this is where the enchantment ends. We ordered some mushrooms, a carpaccio, artichoke, Burrata, and the Spiedino to start. The burrata and the Spiedino were excellent, however there was something interesting regarding the Burrata, it is server with a salad on the side however its simply dry and they provide a tomato dressing on the side? The reason why it was a question is because we were not sure how it was supposed to be eaten, as we just mixed it on our plate which led to less then favorable outcomes. The Carpaccio was some very thinly sliced salmon, tuna, and octopus, which was great until you actually tried to get some on your plate and you realize you are literally ripping up paper thin slices of this fish off the plate. While the dish "looks cool" the actual execution and eating of the dish leaves a lot to be desired as it is so difficult to transfer of the place and eat. Upon scanning the menu this second time to pick out our entrees, we noticed something very interesting about the chef. It seems he loves mushrooms, rather I should say mushroom... Mainly the portobello mushroom. There was a underlying theme here, almost every dish features portobello mushrooms. My wife ordered a lasagna, our guests ordered a Salmon, another Speidino (we liked it that much), and a red seafood soup, I opted out of ordering a full entrée and went with a chicken Caesar salad as none of the entrees caught my eye. I was not in the mood for Chicken breast which was the only poultry they had, and The seafood soup was good, but absolutely nothing special. The Salmon was dry but the lobster cream redeemed the dish overall. The lasagna was heavy and tasted as if it were store bought, and oddly enough the Cesare salad was lacking. I am not sure what exactly it was lacking as I could not put my finger on it. They placed the chicken on the side of the salad and it was very dry. The dressing of the salad was simply missing something, whether it was lacking anchovies, or some other issue I don't know but it was lacking. Overall I would come here again for the Spiedino, but I don't think I would go out of my way for what is essentially a high-end grilled cheese sandwich, I really hope we just came on an off day, because judging from other reviews there were dishes I would have liked to order but are simply not on the menu at the time, or perhaps was a special I missed out on. One person mentioned Ossobucco but we did not see anything, nor were we offered any specials. This was by the way a Friday night. read more

There are better restaurants in Aventura Mall. Service was a bit slow, when the food came none of us had dishes and we ordered a large pizza, then a few dishes to share... we were with kids. The marguerita pizza was good, the chicken milanese was good, the octopus was not that good, the veal was okay but not great, salad with artichokes was good... place is big with many tables and they have a patio to sit outside. read more

I ordered the Seafood Risotto dish. It smelled like urine. The mussels were so rotten that it overpowered the smell of the dish. I have eaten this dish soo many times! At multiple restaurants like Carpaccio, Villagio and more!!! I eat mussels regularly, at-least once a week! I seems as if everyone in the restaurant knew that we had rotten food. Because, after we received the food no one was around to complain about the rotten dish. To attempt to make us happy the server forced a dessert on us! The experience, the food, and response to this rotten dish was unacceptable! This restaurant should be closed!!! read more

This place is very nice and convenient, the service is very good and that why I give 3 star but the food is not good, I order and assorted meet and cheese plate will attach pic, very old school presentation and lack of appearance. For main course my wife had an ossobucco with Rissoto Milanese with no arborio rice, no cheese at all is was not a risotto and the price 41$ not worthy . Great place to take your family for lunch during your shopping spree at Aventura Mall. They have a very large Italian-style menu, and all of it is really good - much better than you would expect for a restaurant in the mall. They have everything from fresh fish, steaks and chops, to osso bucco, to pasta to excellent salads, to veal and chicken dishes, and even really tasty gourmet pizza. The service is highly professional, and it's white tablecloth service. They have a bar with beer, wine, and classic cocktails. You can order half portions of pasta, which is an insider tip since the full portions are basically too large for one person. The restaurant is also extremely well managed, which again is surprising for a Mall-located restaurant. Overall, this place can get full because it's extremely popular, but they have plenty of tables both inside and outside most times. Definitely worth a meal! read more

Ambiance is good along with service. Portions were on the small side and prices were on the high side. Not a good combo. Nothing special about food flavor. The place is nice convenient location in Aventura mall. But if they don't change something portions or prices they might not plan well for long term. We went for a quick bite to eat while the mall for something a little more elevated than the food court. Don't be fooled by the bow ties you are better off with the food court. Basic sauce, it tastes like day old ravioli and not in a good way. Do your self a favor... leave the mall and go to Casa Di Angelo. At least there your entire party will be able to leave without a stop in the bathroom unlike here. read more

In my opinion, this place isn't all it's hyped up to be. Maybe I visited on an odd day, but the service was, for a lack of better words 'insufficient'. They immediately found a table for us, so I assumed the service would be just as speedy. I was wrong. The appetizer was great. I forget the name of it, but the mozzarella was VERY fresh. I loved it. I ordered a Chicken Francese (my favorite dish), and it was, at best, mediocre. The chicken felt very 'rubbery' in some places, and it just wasn't comparable to some of the other places I have visited. The server kept forgetting things, although I'm sure he did the best job he could. Our appetizer ended up costing more than our meal, and we both agreed that we could have picked a better place to have lunch. All in all, I wouldn't recommend this joint because there are better options out there. Very disappointed. read more

15 word or less: Played out, tired, and in need of new life. Bella Luna has been a staple in the Aventura Mall for a long time. That unfortunately has translated into the place becoming tired, the food boring and tasteless, and the feeling like you are in a tourist trap just trying to pump out food and flip tables as quickly as possible. In terms of decor, the place appears to be undergoing a remodel. The outside has been completed, now featuring a waterfall. The inside has yet to be completed. So for now (April 2011), the inside is dark and dirty from the work in progress. The menu. Nothing has changed. If you have never eaten there, it will seem promising. This may explain why the tourists visiting the mall will like it. But for locals, Carpaccio in Bal Harbour is where this owner seems to invest the time and energy and where you should too. It is the same menu and the food and setting are better. Service was spotty but the table had an assigned busser who was attentive. I do give kudos to that type of staffing decision. The meal was just played out. I had bolognese with rigatoni. The pasta was cooked right, but it was presented with what appeared to be a giant ladle of plain meat sauce. Unimaginative came to mind. Tasteless was the next. Not even a spoonful of ricotta was to be seen to at least jazz up the sauce. Back in the day, the pizza was far better. Now, it is pretty generic. The fried calamari, also good in the past, was tasteless. The food just simply has dropped off and it seems the place is just pumping out large amounts as quickly as possible for tourists. read more

The food is good but the service sucks. My friends and I went there today; we were 5 adults and an 18month old kid. The waitress brought a first check that didn't include gratuity & when we all put our modes of payment together ; she went to bring another check with all our Payment back & was denying that she had previously brought a check to us without gratuity-- that was the first strike of dishonesty. The second was that the manager was counting the 18month old baby (who by the way didn't eat) as an adult & charged us gratuity according to that. At the end of the day -- all they cared about was their gratuity. He said he was charging gratuity according to a party of 6 ? How can you include an 18month old baby in that charge -- who didn't even eat. That's my first and last time in this restaurant. They were rude and dishonest. read more

The food was very good. The service was excellent. GV linguini seafood pasta was very tasty. It could have been a little bit more saucy for my taste. But the seafood was very well prepared. The servers were quick and we didn't have to wait for anything at all. This was nice especially since they were jam packed. We also didn't have reservation and were seated right away. I am truly shocked at the amount of bad reviews this place receives. Everytime I'm in Aventura mall, I always go to Bella Luna for a Vegetariana soup take out. But as I wait at the bar, I've paid close attention to the plates coming out of the kitchen and it looks delicious! Yes, the patrons seem a bit snooty but that doesn't bother me. I kept telling myself that I must return to this restaurant for a sit down lunch or dinner with the Hun. Well that day was yesterday. We live all the way in West Miramar so this is a bit of a trek for us but we made a day of it. We were seated immediately on a Wednesday late afternoon. Our waitress was nice, attentive, and knew the menu quite well. I ordered my Vegetariana soup...AMAZING as always, the Fritti De Mare...sauce, clams and shrimp were pretty good, and a cappuccino which was strong, creamy, and cinnamony...Mmmmm! My hubby had one of their fish specials. Mahi Mahi sautéed in a lemon and wine sauce with capers. It was really good and tasted freshly prepared. So many bad reviews but this place had a full house. I enjoyed my meal, the service, and my husband seemed happy too. This place is in a mall but I would absolutely return because I don't think it's a chain. Bella Luna is my go-to resto whenever I'm at Aventura Mall. The food is solid and the service is always on point. Like a psycho, I always eat the same thing mozzarella fritti (for appetizer) and chicken parm (for lunch) and am always happy with my order. But I have tried the calamari, cesar salad and agnolotti del maginfico and they are all spectacular. The portions are HUGE which is also a plus. Ooh, and I love the bread and butter here...very fresh and yummy. I've been here for what feels like a zillion times and have never had to wait for a seat either...maybe I'm just lucky! Typical mall establishment, with slightly overpriced semi-decent but definitely not phenomenal food. I do appreciate how they served warm freshly baked bread though. Service was attentive in the sense that this girl kept on asking us if we wanted parmesan or pepper on EVERY SINGLE DISH we ordered. Even when it's like vegetable soup - I just can't really imagine it going very well with parmesan. I am especially conflicted about the pizza. It's a decent mid-level Italian eatery and about what you'd expect in a high-end mall. This means while it's quite a bit above food court fare, you can do better leaving the air-conditioned confines of the shopping center. That said, if you are shopping its convenient location might be enough to tip the scales and the food is certainly acceptable. The portions are quite generous and the bread service is also above par. Also, they conveniently have little coat racks for purses, etc. near each table. I had pasta carbonara, with chicken added. I might note they were generous with the chicken. The pasta itself, while it tasted good, was a bit bland. Basically, the flavors were correct but they needed to turn-up the dial on the intensity. The prosciutto in the pasta was also middling. This tendency toward blandness was also evident in the Burrata (mozzarella-based curd wrapped around cream) which was surprisingly tasteless. They likely did not use a real buffalo milk-based mozzarella. The service was extremely helpful and friendly, and they were also quite quick -- which is appreciated in a mall setting. read more

In the redesigned Aventura Mall, this is one of the new Italian restaurants for this South Florida Chain. We went there on a Saturday evening after an early movie and we didn't have a problem getting a table. I had a Linguine with clams and it was okay and had a little food envy over my W's penne dish. The large artichoke appetizer was also very good. It's the Aventura mall so there's plenty of parking but it's located on the opposite end of the mall from the theaters. We were able to walk through the mall after the stores closed. read more
