Wow. Not sure I have ever seen a place like this in Texas. You could tell the pasta fagioli was homemade. The small Bella Napoli Italian mix was big enough to split, the bread was so fresh. I went here on Christmas Eve to grab some Christmas day desserts. The service was phenomenal! The place was packed (I pulled number 75, they were on number 50 when I got there). The line moved surprisingly fast! The staff was moving quickly and we very organized. The cookies and pastries were a big hit on Christmas. Have been here several times and I keep hoping for more. How dumb am I to do this? I have had several items and I mean dozens. Some are ok but most just bad. I bought an Italian cannoli tomight. It tasted sour. I have had it. I will go to Schuyler Bakery in Watervliet from now on. I have never once been disappointed and when it comes to my wallet I pay at least half the price of Bella Napoli and it's all good. Do yourself a favor and don't go here. I goto this bakery everytime I am visiting my companies Albany office. They have the best sweets on the planet. My favorite has to be the radio bar cakes. I am not an Italian Pastry Connessieur, however, I do enjoy and appreciate decent cuisine and desserts. We purchased 2 eclairs, a St. Joseph (Sfingi), 1/2 doz hot cross buns and mini limincello cannoli. The St. Joseph's custard was flavorless, the custard was nothing but gelatin and the creme puff itself was dense and not flaky. Actually, it tasted old. the limincello cannoli was soggy because cannolis should be filled to order, the shell should not be refrigerated and the filling hardly tasted of lemon. The greatest disappointed were the hot cross buns, that were dense, similar to that of Irish Soda Bread, not sweet and had an average of 1 raisin per square. The hot cross buns tasted as if you were chewing on a sidewalk and were most likely made with Bisquick. It is difficult to screw up an Eclair, even the worst eclairs are fantastic. The creme could have been sweeter. The pastries were garbage and way overpriced. Do yourself a favor and buy Entemanns Hot Cross Buns, Eclairs from Hannaford and make your own St. Joseph (Sfingi) and save yourself a bunch of money. read more

Excellent choice for a real Italian sub sandwiches. Bread was super fresh. All the ingredients were fresh as well. Not fair to compare to Subway. It would be like comparing apples to oranges. I love this place, the bakery is amazing. I tried just about everything! I love how they package your sweets too! creative and aesthetically pleasing to the eye. The girls that work there need to be fired. There is one blonde woman and another brunette girl who were sweethearts! you can tell they do work! but for the other girls standing in the corner,eyeing the customers..you can have several stadium seats down. It doesnt take a team of 6 people at the cokie/brownie section! go find some business! These girls looked to be sophmores in high school,which really pisses me off that they hire these little teeny bopper airheads! Many people are seeking employment and would be serious about customer service.But you hire these teeny boppers? I asked a question on purpose to see how they react,it was ticking me off they are huddled in a group staring at people. So before I asked, one bold one said "are you together" to me and the person to me,I smiled and nodded. Lol, when I asked my question they all looked at each other panicked!and made eye contact with the bold leader! I had to repeat 3 times! apparently some of us have hearing problems but alot of times when people ask you to repeat,they already know what u said! they just want time to think of an answer! Great stop for Italian pastries, breads, coffee bar and more - they even have a takeout sandwich and gelatto counter. All the baked goods we've had have been superb. The downside is the lines can be interminably long, especially in the morning when you just want to grab your espresso and go. I must knock a star off because Bella Napoli makes it difficult to purchase a full meal in one transaction. The logistics of doing business here are mind bogglingly confusing. If you walked in and wanted to buy a sandwich, an espresso and a cookie it is impossible. It is also impossible to purchase any coffee product and a cookie in the same transaction. Unclear purchasing procedure is uncool. While their product is superior and always delicious, they make it difficult for the customer to part with their dollars. read more

I may be the one person in the Capital Region who doesn't swoon at the name Bella Napoli - it's not that I think it's bad, it's just that I don't think they are the best Italian bakery in the area. I think they have gotten better though in the past few years as I used to loathe Bella Napoli. Why I don't love love Bella Napoli - personal preference likely - there are other Italian Bakeries - which will remain nameless at this time, that I think pack more flavor into the same types of pastries. However to Bella Napoli's credit - they do a wonderful job making their pastries look beautiful - Their sfogliatelle is probably the most beautifully made of anyone's in the area. They do have quite a variety - from traditional Italian pastry to more American baked goods like chocolate chip cookies, they have even jumped on the cupcake and cheesecake bandwagon. Everything looks beautiful in their cases. I do mean when I say they are a-ok - they are, and most people would say Bella Napoli is the bees knees - just not me....for now I will stick with a-ok. read more

Bella Napoli has the best submarine sandwiches I've ever eaten in 30 states and 7 countries. My Grandparents used to take me here as a kid, and whenever I'm visiting family in the area, I have to stop here (I live in VA). This past Columbus Day weekend, I brought my girlfriend here since I talk about it often. She strongly follows yelp reviews, so I was surprised to see it only had 3 1/2 stars. She definitely saw my point after eating here - her first reaction was the large portions for the price. We ended up having some of the baked goods for dessert, which also hit the spot. I worked in two bakeries while putting myself through college, and I can honestly say, Bella Napoli has some of the best bread, best donuts, and all around best baked goods in the area. I highly recommend this place for a great lunch or a sweet treat. read more

The prices here seem pretty cheap. We got a slice of strawberry daqurie cheese cake which was $3.95 and it was huge. Deffiently enough for the 2 of us to be full off of. i am assigning the 4 stars based on it's eye candy potential only. today i brought a friend here to order a cake for her son's christening. as we entered we were surprised at how many lunch diners there were, and all of their sandwiches looked good enough to distract them and steal - made on fresh baked rolls too. mmm. anyway, i digress. we were here for cake. there were a ton of fresh made cakes on display for purchase along with the entire room lined with italian goodies in display cases. they had so many pastries that i truly started to drool. and i don't even Like italian pastries. (i would have had to tackle my daughter and use restraining bands like on csi if i dared to bring her in here) there were simply too many to list, i suggest you go exercise for hours, including jogging miles to get there and then go, with a pocket full of cash. my friend ordered her cake and was given very helpful assistance - for a while that is. the girl at the counter perhaps was having a bad day but she seemed to be one of those 'you will order what i tell you to order, and like it' and 'i can't be bothered with special request' types. we needed a 10" carrot cake, with walnuts on the side like almost any other carrot cake i have seen. we were informed that they don't do that but we could have almonds. for $4 more. almonds? on carrot cake? what? and we even pointed out the small ones with walnuts sprinkled on top. but no. so we accepted it (at least my friend did. i don't ever take that kind of answer but wanted to wait to give her my input til when we were not at the counter so as to not create a scene. more on that later.) she also wanted a plate of cookies or such. they have a nice selection of mini things like canolis and creme puffs that i talked her into going with instead of the bland italian cookie selection that everyone always brings but that get chucked, mostly uneaten, every time. when she asked if she should order ahead of time we were told that they may not have enough - she only needed enough for 25 people however so that was a disaster narrowly averted (with a roll of the eyes, the statement that they may not have enough was irritating. she was only buying a 10" cake, how many cookies do you think she would need?) so, on our way out i pointed out the other cakes and whispered the issue over the walnuts and we went back to the counter. the owner or manager came up and told us that of course we could have some. but she still defended, in a polite manner, her employee - stating that they don't usually do that on the birthday cakes as the weight of the walnuts pulled the frosting off. this was ok with us tho as she not only accommodated us but also explained why it seemed as tho they were not before. i was quite impressed and my ruffled feathers were smoothed. and my friend left happier. i will be back. with some major self restraint in hand hopefully. read more

I originally come from Brooklyn, and missed the great Brooklyn Italian bakeries. Bella Napoli reminds me of Brooklyn. Excellent Italian pastries especially the Lobster Tails and Sfogliatele. Came back this week to pick up some pastries. We ordered a box of napoleans, a tiramisu, a acorn horn, a chocolate cannoli and 2 mini cannolis. Service as always was prompt and friendly. The tiramisu wasn't good at all though. It was dripping with the coffee liqueur which made the cake completely wet. The napoleans were the same as usual which was great! The chocolate cannoli was alright---the cannoli wrap was quite hard..eh I didn't like it much. read more

Have been a customer for years, but today it was quite challenging. Ordered food in advance, trying to cut down on the wait time, but when I arrived 10 minutes after calling, it was 25 minutes before I was able to get two breakfast sandwiches. After watching others walking in off the street and getting their breakfast sandwiches, it wasn't until I became upset did I get my order. No apology, just handed the food. Too much aggravation to go back there. Sorry. Kitchen serves great food. No customer services training at all. Makes for a bad experience. read more
