I'm updating my review because I now realize how expensive this place is! (Last time, someone else was paying.) While very good, it's just pretty pricey for what you get. I got the same curried chicken salad that I ordered last time, and it was delicious. I also ordered a slice of carrot cake, which was just OK and reasonably sized. I'm celebrating the reopening of a Ruggles Green in Central Houston. I was getting tired of trekking all the way to City Center or the Woodlands for my Ruggles fix. This is your typical Ruggles Green fare for anyone who has experienced the other locations. I came here at noon on a Wednesday and it was not crazy at all. I was expecting a large line but actually walked straight up to the register and placed my order in five minutes. I ordered the Chicken Caesar wrap with a side of fruit (extra 50 cent charge, FYI). My friend and I took our number and found a nice place outside to overlook the scenic view of West Alabama (note: the sarcasm). I like this location, it is a little smaller than their other spots, but I like how it is built up and off the street. There is a nice parking garage attached to the restaurant/apartment complex with free parking on the first level for Ruggles customers. Again, the menu is your standard Ruggles menu which means heavy on the quinoa/kale and vegetarian options. My chicken caesar wrap was delicious though slightly heavy on the dressing. The fruit was very icy-cold which was a nice combat to the warm weather. Will give 4-stars because this is a must visit restaurant in the area, but it doesn't outshine the other locations. Before this became bellagreen I really enjoyed Ruffles green. Unfortunately their customer service has definitely declined. I recently placed a phone order for pick up. I noticed there was a pizza box sitting there even though I was left waiting. When I inquired they said it was my pizza only to discover they made the wrong pizza so I had to wait another 15 minutes. I was not offered an apology or beverage not even glass of water for my inconvenience. Their pizza use to taste better and considering I received a fresh made to order pizza it was Luke warm at best. They also use to have main root sodas and now only offer Pepsi but still have their flavored ice teas. I didn't think pizza was something you could screw up but I was wrong...too bad as I really liked Ruffles...bellagreen not so much. UPDATE REVIEW: I have been back to bellagreen and had a much more positive experience on 2 occasions both dine in and take out. Fast and friendly customer service, food was hot and fresh. I'm glad to see issues were addressed and bill be going back again. I'm really enjoying their veggie burger...very tasty and filling. So if you're a vegetarian definitely try this burger! read more

This Ruggles Green is beautiful with large windows that allow natural light to just pour in. It's much larger than the previous Ruggles Green that was in this area. I like it better. It's located at the bottom of a large apartment complex (as is the trend these days) and you have to park in the bottom level of the parking garage, which felt kind of odd, but wasn't bad and kept my car cool on a hot summer day. The food, as it is at all locations, is wonderful! SO many healthy AND tasty options. Perfection. I love the homemade pickles that are located at the drink station. They're sweet and fresh tasting with whole peppercorns that are so fun to bite into. The staff here are consistently attentive, quick, and kind. For the quality of the food and the classy ambiance of the restaurant, I feel like the prices are very appropriate. Eating at Ruggles Green is a choice that makes your taste buds happy and you don't have to feel guilty. Win-win! read more

The white chocolate bread pudding tastes like flan/ creme brûlée with some bread pudding texture. It's delicious and definitely different. I am not one to leave reviews often, but after today i thought i might share. Let me preface with the employees were super nice and the restaurant was clean as always. I have been going to various bella greens for the last four years or so. I used to eat at the one in cypress quite often, probs once a week. My most favorite meal is the Goat Cheese Salad with grilled chicken. About 3 months ago was the last time i had that meal, delivered on DoorDash. Perfect! Satisfied my craving. Fast forward to today. We were there around lunchtime. My boyfriend and i decided to come here because i was raving about how good the food was, a little pricey but worth it when i get the salad i crave nearly every month. He decided to get the Bison burger and fries, me the salad with grilled chicken, order of sweet potato fries & 2 drinks. Total was about 45 bucks. We're both really big foodies so i was excited to share my love for this place. Anyyyyway, our food comes, super hungry and ready to dive in. His burger was definitely not buffalo. We both try it and it just tasted like hamburger meat. He asked for it medium and it was well. The fries were cold and soggy, think like frozen fries. I understand this restaurant is meant to be healthy, but salt is ok to used. Actually, the human body needs salt to survive. They were probably the worst fries i have had in years. Oh, my poor salad. The goat cheese didn't have that goat cheesy flavor, it was almost wet. Reminded me of cheese curds or cottage cheese. The chicken was extremely dry but at least the salad was over dressed to compensate. Typically i can destroy this salad, but i left today not even eating half. Not to mention, it wasn't even a full plump chicken breast, it was like a breast cut in half and pounded out thin. It was seasoned well but unfortunately too sad to eat. We left extremely upset and nearly talked about it for our 20 minute ride home. We live in such a great city with amazing food options and today we were extremely disappointed. As college students, we both budget a little more for eating out, but i feel like i wasted 3 hours of my life to work to pay for this. We agreed that the highlight was our fountain drinks. About 30 min after we get home, both of our stomachs are unsettled. An hour passes and i throw up all of the contents of my stomach. Like, everything. We both aggressively agreed that this chain is forever off of our rotation list. Its sad because I've been a loyal fan for so long, but after today its time to say farewell. We are both avid cooks and its so disappointing to know you can do your meal better than eating out. If you made it this far, i would probably reconsider your choice to eat here. Take your money and go down the street to Local Foods. At least you'll get something not completely terrible for 15 bucks cheaper. read more

Came here for dinner on a Saturday evening and sat on the outdoor patio since it was such a beautiful day! You order at the counter when you first get there and then seat yourself. Then they hand you a number and bring your food to wherever you're sitting. The service was great, especially for outdoor seating. I got the grilled salmon pasta. This tasted very light for a creamy pasta and the grilled salmon paired very well with the pesto pasta sauce. I was able to eat the whole entrée by myself, but I left feeling very full. The spinach salad has mushrooms, onions, cheese and a BACON salad dressing that is mouth watering. The salads are huge and could easily fill 2 people. Our pork panini was tasty and juicy. They use fresh squeezed (pressed?) watermelon juice so it wasn't too sugary sweet. The omelette was good too and my friends enjoyed their meals as well (breakfast plate and the BLT). I've been a loyal customer here for years - even before when Bellagreen was Ruggles Green. I've always loved their food (white chocolate bread pudding! Atlantic salmon salad! Turkey lettuce wraps!) but today's service left me a very bad impression. We were in line to order food here as usual. There were many customers and the line was pretty backed up. One lady was super nice and helpful; we, however, got put in a line with a man named Drayton who was on the phone for about 5 minutes before he got to us. When I started my order with my husband, he (Drayton) cut me off and didn't let me continue with my order. He just shut me down. I ordered the Hot Houston burger, and he didn't even ask how I wanted it to be cooked. I remained civil and waited some time longer till he was ready for my next item. Then, instead of handing me a number card for my order, he just threw down the number card on my menu in a very disdainful manner. He continued to be extremely terse and basically dismissed us over. Normally , I tip 18-20%. Needless to say, this time I did not tip. Perhaps Drayton was frustrated by his phone call; I do not know. Regardless, he should not have treated a customer-a loyal customer who was respectful and patient- in this manner. I am extremely disappointed by Bellagreen's customer service here. I am giving 2 stars for the restaurant's great food. Watch out for customer service. read more

This was our first time at their river oaks location and it was an overall good experience. Service good, food good and a decent selection of beers and wine for not being a full service/bar restaurant. Food: I had the seasonal burger. It's was the 44 farmhouse burger. It was an overall good burger but I have to say they were a bit stingy with the Caramelized onions and the blue cheese. I actually got it for those reasons as I love both of those things on my burger. I got the regular house cut fries which was not a big amount either. For $14 I personally feel that they should provide a bit more. I also ordered the spinach dip which was DELICIOUS! I highly recommend this. My husband ordered the spicy chicken pasta which I did try, and it too was pretty tasty. Service: the line went pretty quickly when you consider the amount of people who were there waiting to order! I waited for a while but I know it could have been much longer so I'm very pleased with the cashier. I ordered and paid very quickly. He was nice but to the point which is honestly how I like to when it's not full service with waiters. Once the food came out I asked for a side of ketchup which came out right away. I'm picky when it comes to condiments, so when I ask something It's because I need it for my food. There have been times at different restaurants when they NEVER bring it out. I love Bellagreen (the restaurant formerly known as Ruggles Green). I've tried many items from this fresh food restaurant and they've all ranged from pretty good to wow! Some of my wow items are the white chocolate bread pudding and the honey-fried goat cheese and arugula salad. I've also had the tres leche which is of course delicious if not a bit on the sweet side, depending on your tastes. I've also had the turkey burger which was just okay. It's very hard to make a juicy turkey burger and unfortunately this one was on the dry side. The sweet potato fries are always a great side and don't forget to grab some homemade pickles from the condiment bar. read more

This place has an AMAZING gluten free menu! Cake! THEY HAVE CAKE! My daughter was elated! The service was top notch!
