I came here for dinner on labor day 2016. My companion and I split the spinach salad and the pork panini (sp). The spinach salad has mushrooms, onions, cheese and a BACON salad dressing that is mouth watering. The salads are huge and could easily fill 2 people. Our pork panini was tasty and juicy. It's shaved pork with cheese, peppers, mushrooms, and sauce. The place was packed and it did take some time to order and get our food. What a wonderful discovery! We were looking for something vegan for lunch and decided to give this a try. The food was so fresh and very tasty. The lettuce wraps were fabulous. I've ordered from this place on three occasions. First time I ordered a pork panini, which was drenched in oil. Second time was a salad, which was just OKAY, nothing great about it. Third time, I ordered a burger thinking it would be great and I'm sure it would have, had they cooked the meat all the way through like I asked and not leave it medium rare. The lamb burger with goat cheese and tzatziki sauce is sooooooo good! And so filling. The sauce, pickles, and cheese, really brings out the flavor. I usually don't eat pickles on my burgers, but their pickles were different, tasty, and had a very good flavor. A bit pricey but worth it. read more

Food is great but unfortunately I've had a negative experience at this location on two occasions. My chicken was undercooked a few months ago, and I got food poisoning after eating here last weekend. Such a shame because I love the food, but definitely won't be back to this location. read more

I especially appreciate that they can make each item that isn't already labeled as "gluten free", gluten free. Each item ordered GF comes with a card so that says the dish was prepared GF so that you don't have to worry about making sure. The new location is a great space with both indoor and patio seating. Even though this place is largely self-serve, the service that does exist was impeccable and expedient. I ordered the spicy vegetable pasta, which probably isn't the best dish on the menu, but was mostly what I was looking for in the dish. A bed of angle hair filled with carrots, onions, green beans, cauliflower, broccoli, and sprinkled with fresh basil, it was a vegetarian's delight. The only criticism might be the sauce, which while a flavorful blend of sweet and spicy tomato, was quite watery. Additionally, my friend ordered the salmon salad and said the salmon was a little overcooked. For dessert, I had the chocolate creme brule cheesecake, which was as deccadently delicious as it sounds. Bellagreen is a good spot for a light dinner. I really enjoy just coming and getting the veggie lettuce wraps as a meal. The veggie tacos are also delicious, and you can never go wrong with one of their salads. We haven't eaten any of the pizzas before, but they cook them in a brick oven that looks like it'd be great. read more

The Grilled All-Natural Chicken Burger is the bomb! I'm a sucker for grilled chicken and honey dijon mustard and this always does the trick! The atmosphere is great and the clientele seems to be a good mix of college age adults and middle-age adults. I love that they offer a patio. Recently attempted to go to Bellagreen, but apparently the staff were too overwhelmed with the 5 customers that were in the restaurant to be able to take our orders after 7 minutes of waiting at the head of the line. This kind of service is what I've come to expect at Bellagreen, sadly. If it were up to me, I'd never return to this place, but alas, my girlfriend has a gluten allergy so until more restaurants in Houston serve more varied, gluten-free food, Bellagreen will stay on the rotation. Just got the veggie burger through door dash with the sweet chipotle mash potatoes as a side, and it's so yummy! I love it! Every time I order a veggie burger anywhere I get kind of nervous, because it's usually a patty that falls apart and it's hard to enjoy, but not this one! The Rivers Oaks Ruggles Green was a major loss when they decided to move out from their old location and into the Gables' bottom retail area. There were months and months of us saying how much we missed it, and then it finally reopened. The thing I love the most about Ruggles Green is their spaghetti squash options. They used to only have the Farmer's Market Spaghetti Squash - a pesto sauced spaghetti squash with various veggies (usually asparagus, mushrooms, carrots). Then they added the Spaghetti Squash Bolognase. Oh man, this is tasty. It's not vegetarian (or vegan, for that matter - the farmers market one is) but it's so delicious. You can tell the sauce took a while to develop - all the veggies were properly browned and the meat is cooked off so well. Both of these spaghetti squash dishes are even better reheated the next day - so if you don't finish all the food in one sitting (and it's a lot), don't worry about having issues reheating. The parking is a bit better than when it was at the other location, but if they add any more retail you can assume that the parking will only become terrible. read more

I was surprised I didn't like it more - the French onion soup had too much mozzarella and there was no bread that evening! (the cup doesn't come with bread but I ordered it and they were out!). Also the crackers given with to compensate were stale. No one had anything to say about it. The most serious issue - because I took a friend as a nod to her birthday- was that the frosting on the chocolate cake tasted like it had been in the refrigerator uncovered. Really disappointed with take-out order. I ordered a chicken salad sandwich with french fries and ice tea. The chicken salad sandwich had maybe 2 teaspoons of the chicken salad in the sandwich. The french fries were stone cold and greasy. The ice tea cup had maybe 8 ounces of tea; I guess I should have ordered the large tea. There was no ketchup or straw in the to-go bag. I'm a regular customer at this location and others. I have Celiac disease and they have many gluten-free options. Whenever I have ordered, the staff always asks if I NEED the food to be GF, and I say yes; I always ask that they use as many precautions as possible to prevent cross-contamination. I was shocked to learn a few days ago that the "gluten-free flatbread" is baked on the exact same unwashed brick surface as is the glutenous bread. The restaurant takes zero precautions to prevent cross-contamination. I think it's extremely dishonest to represent this bread as "gluten-free". It's DANGEROUS for people like me. I've contacted Ruggles Green and am waiting to hear from them on this, but I think other people need to know that the flatbread is not safe, and really the entire menu should not be trusted. read more

We are in town visiting friends and they brought us and our kids here for lunch. Hands down the best meal we have had here! I wish this place existed in Boston where we are from.
