Unfortunately I learned I can't expect too much from a food court establishment. I wanted to check out this place cause it had an interesting name. I was asking about some menu options but the cashier didn't seem like they wanted to answer my questions or talk to me . Kind of frustrating. BengBeng serves Korean style bento boxes (nothing fancy; not appetizingly presented; but tasty) and bibimbap (nicely presented). Basically, bibimbap comes with rice underneath; nice cucumber and pickled radish, carrot, purple cabbage, ground beef, fresh lettuce, and an egg sunny-side up. With gochujeong on the side. This was the last thing to finish and come out, & when I sat down to take a bite, it seemed as if it was sitting out for awhile. There was no crunch to it and it was about room temperature. I was expecting it to come out hot and crunchy considering we waited a little bit for it. The flavor is mediocre. It has a hint of spiciness. It also comes with a small side of pickled radish or coleslaw. Japchae side: this is the saddest japchae I've ever had. It's almost shameful to even call it japchae. It's bland glass noodles with carrots, onions, and spinach. And it's $7!!!!!! This is one of those items that should be complimentary. Bulgogi Bowl: First off, this bowl was $13. The meat was dry and bland. It comes with some rice and lettuce. Definitely not worth the money. Overall, way overpriced and really not impressed with the food. My high school age son likes this spot and it was his go-to pre-covid when hitting the mall with his friends. We are at the mall and he wants the Korean Fried Chicken so I'm lazy and don't feel like going elsewhere. He orders the soy glazed and I decide on the Bulgogi Bibimbap. First thing you'll notice is this place does not have typical mall eatery prices. $14 for the chicken bites with salad and rice and $15 for the bibimbap. Ordered a medium coke for $2.55 and it's $30 for lunch. The food is pretty good and seems to be a notch above the standard mall fare so can probably justify the higher prices. Bibimbap has a nice variety of veggies and sweet/salty bugogi topped with an egg. Other comments.. We waited 20-25 minutes for our food. The folks behind the counter said they had to prep a new batch of chicken which caused the extended wait. Suggestion-please let customers know if their food will take almost 30 minutes to prep (esp at the food court). To top things off my bibimbap was sitting on the counter for 15 minutes and they could have given my dish to me while it was still hot. Poor execution on their part... Decent food, high prices, mediocre service...probably will not be back as there are other better options at the mall... read more

The spicy garlic was good but I ended up with the soy garlic due to daughter, but wish I just got the spicy. I also got an order of the fries which were battered and made to order. I got the small spicy chicken for about $10 and it is a LOT of chicken. It's boneless and very flavorful. It comes with coleslaw (which I did not get), but I wish it came with rice though because i could not eat it alone and had to order rice on the side. My boyfriend also wanted a side of kimchi and it was not worth it. They give you the smallest amount of kimchi and for the price, definitely not worth it. In the end, I'd definitely eat here again. This was my first experience at BengBeng, I was doing some shopping with some friends and decided to try the chicken bites since it would be a snack before dinner. I ordered the Honey Spicy chicken bites with a side of the pickled radish. The chicken was a 7.5/10, as a snack you're given a good amount for $12.99 to split between friends. Crispy, really hot, and freshly sauced and seasoned, was a bit greasy and but it's fried chicken so what else would you expect. Also the volcano sauce and sweet and sour sauce were good but $2.00 is a high price point for a single serving of dipping sauce. The pickled radishes weren't good at all, tasted like it wasn't pickled for very long. I also tried my friend's fries and they were crispy and hot, lightly seasoned!
