I've been to this establishment many times over the years and always enjoyed the dining experience, but tonight was by far the worst. Had a reservation for 6:30pm and it took 45 minutes to get seated and then once seated our server said they would be with us as soon as they got soup for another table. 15 minutes went by and the server never came back to even take our drink orders. Me and my wife were so upset we just got up and left. A whole hour wasted! That was unacceptable and we may not be back for probably a year at least. My family and I visit this location regularly for birthdays/celebrations. It is always good, but our most recent experience was exceptional thanks to our amazing chef Tommy! My family and I have been loyal customers at this Benihana location for years. We come here to celebrate every family birthday ...March, June, August, and October and it's always been part of our family tradition. I always order the same meal every single time: the Benihana Delight with fried rice (no egg) and an extra fried rice (no egg). Yesterday's visit, however, was very disappointing. For the first time ever, my Benihana Delight came without the colossal shrimp it's supposed to include. Instead, I was told by the chef that the shrimp size had changed and they're now "a lot smaller." Even if that were true, the portion size should have still been reasonable yet I left with only two small pieces of shrimp left over, when I normally have plenty for the next day. What makes it more frustrating is that the prices keep going up while the portions and quality keep going down. The entertainment which used to make the experience fun and memorable was almost nonexistent this time. For the cost of dining here, the service, food quality, and overall experience should be far better. The only positive note is that we were in and out in about two hours, which is faster than usual, and the server Mo was a pleasure to have ... but that doesn't make up for the disappointing food and lack of the usual Benihana experience. Sadly, my family and I are now reconsidering returning to this location in the future. We've always loved coming here, but the value and experience just aren't what they used to be. read more

OMGeee a 3 hour wait to eat dinner tonight (9/20) The older lady, manager told us their power was flashing on and off, we did experience this though it was for a short time. Our reservation was for 5:00pmpm, we were seated at 5:30pm - ish and once seated our server was know where in site until 6:30pm!! then my husband said something to the female manager and her response was we are busy and backed up (standard oh well answer) We were offered a free appetizer, that was nice of her, however from that point the service was awful. The female (older lady) manager and male hispanic manager did nothing to help the staff that was soooo backed up! we know because we watched them. Our first server told us two cooks called out and this is why we have not been taken care of. This is not our problem. Why would you tell us this?? The foursome next to us had a 4:30pm reservation and they were there for 3.5 hours!! When my husband talked with the female manager about our 3 hour dinner, she gave us $20 off our bill!! what I said this is ridiculous!! Our meal should have been comp'd !! and the foursome next to us with a $400 bill they gave them $40 off their bill!! With the ongoing and nonstop disappointment in the quality in the customer service received at businesses nowadays AND the recent reviews I saw posted on Google, I was pleasantly surprised with my visit to Benihana's on Inland Empire Blvd in Ontario for my mother's birthday dinner last night. Our reservation was at 5pm, but the only reason for our wait was because my son was running a couple of minutes late. We were seated IMMEDIATELY upon his arrival. I did have to ask for my seat to be wiped off, which was handled quickly and with no complaints. Our server was very friendly and attentive. The grill was clean. The dishes were bussed and removed promptly (not only from my table, but those around me). The refills came often and swiftly and Chef Wayne put on an awesome, Benihana worthy show! I visited the Ontario Berihanas location on 9/29/25 for my son's birthday. Unfortunately, my experience was very disappointing. After submitting my feedback directly to management and corporate on 9/29/25 follow up on 09/30/25 about being overcharged on my credit card, I still haven't received any response or resolution. The lack of communication and accountability has been frustrating. I've been patient, but it's concerning that such a serious billing error hasn't been addressed. The food is always cooked in the best way by a very good chef who has a lot of humor to add to the entertainment. Yes we go for the food, but also a fun time as well. They truly add that. Me and my friends are always eating good and having fun all the time and our favorite place to go is here. We only come once a year usually and it never gets old. Food was ok. Service was good. The reason for the 1 star review was due to the restaurant being filthy dirty. The entire ceiling of the restaurant is dripping in oil. Just disgusting. The Chef, had broken chef tools and a disgustingly dirty apron. The flat top grills were filthy and the floors dirty throughout the entire restaurant including the bathrooms. We just left there and let's hope we don't get sick. Managers were standing around worried about where to seat their next guests when they should be focused on cleaning the restaurant and providing a healthy dining experience. We Ubered to the restaurant from a local winery with wines we bought and were okay waiting for a bit. Once I put the wines down there was a manager by the name Brenda who had told us we were going to be charged a $25/bottle corkage fee for bringing the bottles inside totaling $125. On top of that it was already 8:15PM and we were not being seated. We had nowhere else to put our wines and wanted to just have a nice family dinner, but that was ruined. It was off putting and we don't believe we'll be revisiting Benihanas since this would've been our first time. A nice girl offered to help us and the manager at the front and regional manager were nice to hear us out, but it didn't make up for Brenda's first impression.
