    Pizzas

Berlina Cafe is located right across the street from the Holiday Inn where I was staying. They have a large menu, from pizzas, to burgers, bagels, waffles, smoothies, etc... To be honest, I only stopped by here, because of convenience, I was hungry, and tired of walking, and my room was easily accessible. None of the pizzas looked like my pick. I went for the pepperoni with sausage. I also got a Diet Coke, I reached as far as I could to get a bottle from the back. This pizza was just ok. It was very greasy, the crust was thin, but, not charred, or particularly tasty. It'll be ok if you're very hungry, but nothing memorable, or worth coming back for. Believe it or not my Coke was also a disappointment. It wasn't cold at all, despite me reaching for the one from the back. Maybe some of their other options are better than the pizza.

Just the mozzarella stick were about 9 and it came with 4 sticks??? FOUR !! 2 dollar a stick is absurd

4 sticks for about 9. Its $2 per stick...that crazy Overpriced!! I knew it was a side but add at least 6 sticks literally the plate is smaller than my hand

Today we visited Berlina Cafe & Pizza for breakfast while exploring the area, and I wanted to share an honest review in case you're considering a visit Let's start with the positives: We had a good breakfast -- the food was tasty, freshly made, and came out pretty quickly. There are several breakfast options to choose from, and the menu is straightforward and satisfying. The coffee was strong, flavorful, and there were multiple options available -- a definite plus! The café has two floors -- the first floor has a few tables, while the second floor offers more space with both small and large tables. It's great for groups, and overall, the vibe inside was calm and comfortable The place also offers desserts, coffee, and pizza, so it's more than just a breakfast spot -- it's the kind of place where you can come for different occasions throughout the day. Now for the part I think they could improve: Unfortunately, the tables were not cleaned between guests. After someone left, the table would stay dirty -- and with a steady flow of customers, this quickly became noticeable. It's a small detail, but it really affects the experience. They could definitely use an extra staff member just to wipe down tables Another thing that stood out -- the desserts were overpriced and underwhelming. I had an éclair for $8, and honestly, it just wasn't worth it. * The flavor didn't stand out * The price felt too high for a casual café * The quality didn't match the cost So, my honest advice? Come here for a quick and filling breakfast or a good cup of coffee But skip the desserts unless you're okay with paying more for something average It's a cozy spot with potential -- I'd go back for the breakfast, but next time I'll pass on the pastry case. RECOMMEND for breakfast & coffee -- DO NOT RECOMMEND desserts (Personally mine)

    Raspberry cheesecake and cheese slice!

Classic cheese slice , awesome buffalo chicken and great grandma pie! Had to stop and try out their cheesecake and cannoli which was delicious! It was the best pizza shop after getting off a late flight from San Diego.

Meat Lover's Omelette (+American Cheese) and Toast
    Savannah R.

I visited Berlina Cafe on Friday, 2/23/24, in the morning time. I decided to order the Meat Lover's Omelette. It was interesting that it didn't include cheese so I added American Cheese. The omelette was underwhelming in taste and did not meet expectations. Also, the toast placed on top had gotten a tad soggy. Besides the omelette, I got the Strawberry Banana smoothie. The smoothie was extremely delicious and blended to perfection. Having this beverage made up for the dissatisfaction with the breakfast meal. The workers inside this establishment were beyond friendly and inviting. I also appreciated the quick service. Overall, the breakfast was disappointing but the smoothie and customer service were both great.

Tried their slices and really liked them. Pick your slice they pop them in the oven. Two hot slices of NYC pizza. Really liked the sauce on their slices a touch sweet by not overbearing. Quick service as you would expect. There's a few places to sit and eat.

    metal piece in pizza
    A A.

baffling that there seriously was a metal piece in a pizza slice. Genuinely, I bit i to the pizza slice and i feel a hard piece that i bit into. Indescribable feeling and concern. Unfortunate, and sad that the employee really said when I confronted him about it ' it must've been from your purse or bag ' ... like ???? what huge metal piece will come from a bag? How do you not notice such things when making a pizza?!? Terrible service and atmosphere.

We got the Banter Bowl, which includes pickled carrot, cabbage, watermelon radish, cucumber, edamame, avocado, quinoa, and miso ponzu dressing. You have a choice of meats, so we chose the grilled chicken. Second, we ordered the falafel bowl that includes three falafels, pickled onions, avocado, cucumber, whipped garlic feta, kale salad, romesco, and Za'atar dressing that had a delicious flavor. However, our ultimate favorite had to be the Thai Crunch Wrap with sweet potato fries. It was fairly busy, and our drinks took a while to come, but the food arrived shortly after. The next time I'm back, I will be sure to reorder the Thai crunch wrap. If you have food allergies, they are extremely accommodating and have numerous vegan/vegetarian/GF.

Think vintage wallpaper, little knick-knacks, and warm lighting. It's got character. I ordered the market salad with mixed greens, honeycrisp apples, goat cheese, candied pecans, and sherry vinaigrette. It was a hearty portion - super fresh and flavorful, and honestly more than I could finish (not a complaint!). I also ordered a Diet Pepsi with grenadine; they don't carry Diet Coke, which I almost docked a point for, but the mix was unexpectedly delicious. Highly recommend it. My date ordered the hanger steak and said it was absolutely amazing. Only hiccup: his first glass of wine he got came out hot... like, microwave-level warm. Fortunately, the server brought a new (cold) one and the rest of the meal was smooth sailing. Service was friendly, the vibe was homey and relaxed, and the food was solid across the board. Would definitely come back, especially for that salad and another round of grenadine magic.

Aside from that, we had a fantastic experience here at Friedmans Herald Square near Penn Station. They were playing Hilary Duff music, which was such a fun touch since they often match the vibe of whatever is happening at MSG! They even had special Hilary Duff mocktails. The atmosphere is super sweet and cozy. The restaurant was empty when we first walked in, but the second we sat down, it completely packed up! The waiter was very friendly, and even though they weren't able to split the check at the table, they did provide an itemized receipt to make figuring it out easy. The food was great overall--the Mac & Cheese bites and the corn were especially good! We also tried the cheesecake and molten cake. Plus, the neighbors sitting next to us were so sweet. The inside looked really nice with some nice pictures on the wall and lots of space for seating. They also have a downstairs that has a bar and plenty of seating. They had music playing from something in the background which was really good. The bartenders were alway asking if we needed anything so that was good. We didn't order any food but the plates that we saw looked really good. Definitely a place you need to check out if your looking for a cool spot to drink and get some bites to eat. It's $25 for unlimited drinks plus food by the way. Which is sad is a deal these days. Anyway, their happy hour is solid enough for a Monday and was meeting up with a friend I hadn't seen in over a year. Place is actually very cute. There are no tvs which I appreciate and the paneling of the walls and decor with all the flowers is quite tasteful. Happy hour deals 4-7pm Mon-Fri & all night Thursday apparently: Aperol Spritz $8, Hugo Spritz $9, Paloma $10, Mules $9, Draft Beers (except Guinness) $7, House Wine $9. As well as 2 Appetizer Bites for $19.95. Not the best but not the worst. I'm normally not a Spritz kind of gal. I think watering down prosecco or wine is heinous. But it was a Monday and I didn't exactly feel like powering down into happy hour so Aperol Spritz it was which switched to a Modelo later. It was the perfect drink situation on a god awful hot as hell day. We also ordered the fish tacos and what initially were the curry fries but they brought out the Greek fries. I wasn't mad about it. Honestly was torn between the two and I don't send food back unless something really bad happened. But it was essentially a side of Caesar salad dressing with feta cheese and generous amount of herbs on a very sparse and frugal amount of crispy standard cut fries. Now I know why it's a 2 for $20 deal. The tacos were 3 in an order which I guess is typical. They weren't bad but nothing stood out to me. I'd come for the drinks or try something else on the menu.
