I have eaten many doeners in Germany, but I'm no doener expert. I remember it was very good, but I'm not sure why/how it was good or what was inside. So I can't tell if the doeners here are authentic, but I can tell it's super delicious. The bread is out of this world. It's thin and crispy. It smells so good as well. I wonder if I can come back and order the sandwich breads only. The fillings are good, but the bread is overwhelmingly yummy. Overall good sandwiches. Friendly staffs. read more

PRO-TIP: Yelp check in for a free size upgrade to large! My +1 was so hungry and rushed in that I didn't have the chance to do this... DO NOT PARK IN THE LOT IN FRONT IF YOU CAN. Not sure if I read correctly, but it's like $14 for parking and $16 if you pay with credit card. We managed to find meter parking for $1 an hour and we finished our meal before the meter was up. There's limited seating inside and a good amount of tables outside. The worker was nice enough to bring our food out for us and have the feta cheese in a separate container just in case. Boba here seems to be the standard affair that you can get from most chains, so I did not try any. We got the: Doner Box: -Pretty big box! -Comes with a bunch of shredded lettuce, some cucumber slices, and tomato all over a bed of think, crispy hand cut Belgium fries. On top is freshly shaved doner meat (we got lamb!). -For the sauces, you get 2, so we got the original & chef's special (dill, parsley, & chipotle pepper). -It does get messy to eat when you're trying to get a bite of everything, just an FYI. -I honestly found the lamb to be salty, but this was muted once I poured all the sauces and the feta cheese on top and took more layered bites (some veggies, some meat, some fries). We also got a small drink with this, so altogether it was about $17. Kinda pricey in my book, but not so bad in comparison to everything else in the area to be honest. Also sucks we couldn't pay with cash, the second we pulled out our money the worker said they were low on change. read more

If you're like me, inflation has sent you to searching for the best cheap eats in LA. There's Chinese, tacos, in n out.. and then there's this place. For about $14 (incl. tax) you get a super flavorful, and fresh tasting sandwich. The veggies are refreshing and we all know how great a Mediterranean diet is for us. Like many others who have spent time in Germany, we all know that doner kebab sandwiches like these are the true national German dish. It's cheap, tasty, and a welcome change to pretzels and sauerkraut. This is the first doner place I've come across outside of Germany and boy did it send me back! The staff are super friendly and the service is snappy. The ambiance is simple as it should be. Doner is supposed to be a convenient yet fulfilling meal. Not necessarily a sit down kind of joint. It's the place you go when you're piss drunk at 2am or need a quick bite during your lunch break. I highly recommend trying this place if you're in the area or if you've been craving doner in LA. read more

I did takeaway so I cannot comment on the ambience or service. I remember ordering from here way before the pandemic in 2018 or so. Really enjoyed it and had a great experience overall with my order. Today, was not such a great experience. Could be because it's Sunday or things weren't going as usual which I understand. Could be an off day overall. But it was disappointing. I was looking forward to ordering again based on recent reviews but sadly, didn't live up to what others' experiences were. First off some fries weren't fully cooked through. Although that can happen anywhere so I get that. But the wrap was lacking in a lot. The filling was basically non-existent, the meat was kinda dry, and other fillings such as veggies were minimal. I've had Doner wraps at other places, namely Spitz and that compared to this, Spitz takes the cake. I'll be willing to give this place another try with perhaps another order like the box or sandwich. Hoping those are better in quality and bring back what I experienced the first ever time I ordered here back in 2018. read more

A very flavor balanced, enjoyable Doner sandwich ($15, 2021), but extremely overrated. The House and Garlic sauces were delicious, bread perfectly thin and crispy, generous portions of meat paired with the right blend of veggies. However no eye opening, or addicting flavors that'll entice you to come back. Moreover the meat was not juicy at all. It wasn't painstakingly dry but if you're going to slab that much meat on it should be juicy. The greatest feature of this sandwich was just that it was very well balanced; a great combination of flavors. I really wanted to like this place and wanted to go for so long. Unfortunately they have the worst customer service ever. I came in today with my toddler. He was crying. The music was soooo loud - I don't know if they want to be a nightclub or a food place? When they finally turned the music down a little bit the woman behind the counter gave us an attitude. Unbelievable. After we ordered she turned the music DOUBLE as loud as it was and rolled her eyes because my baby was crying. Which did not help with my crying toddler. As a self employed woman with 15 employees myself this is an unacceptable behavior! As a mother (!!!) I was totally disappointed by so little understanding by another woman. The food itself was okay. $16 including tips is a lot for a thin layer of chicken, one thin slice tomato and two slices cucumber & lettuce. read more

So food looks good & feels fresh when you eat it but for some odd reason it's just very bland! I think the meats need more seasoning. Their sauces like the tahini need to be not as watered down! Barely taste any garlic in the sauce. We got the doner sandwich beef & lamb plus the doner wrap with chicken. Both of them didn't have enough flavor. The fries weren't up to par either. Very authentic street food. It brought back memories from back in Germany when we would always eat those from a food truck. It's missing the kick. They sprinkled it with that spicy cayenne or whatever spice they used back in Europe to sprinkle the meat when stuffing the sandwich. But other than that it's legit! read more

Boba is terrible. Taste like freezer and powder boba drink. Not authentic at all. Food is like the McDonald's version of this food. It's not premium. The meat was very dry. They go heavy on the sauce but very light the the vegetable. These marketing photos are not the real experience. We ended up throwing away our entire meal. Very disappointing. read more

I like the food, but it's weird that there's no restroom. We had to go to another place and buy something there to be able to use their restroom. I saw another review response from the owner (in German) that health department doesn't allow customers to use their toilet, but doesn't health department also require any restaurant/coffee shop to have a restroom for customers? read more

I once met someone in Tel Aviv who told me they would travel to Berlin, Germany just to eat döner kebab sandwiches because it's the best in the world. I got curious and went to Berlin not too long after chatting with that stranger to try it myself and can agree Berlin does have really amazing döner kebab sandwiches. It's one of the food dishes I missed eating from my Europe trip. This restaurant Berlins reminds me of my trip and satisfies my döner kebab cravings. The sandwich is super stuffed and is pretty messy to eat but it's really delicious. The döner box is tasty too if you love topping loaded fries. Berlins is probably the best döner kebab sandwich place in LA that is very close to what you can get in Germany. While the restaurant is small with limited seating indoors, there are thankfully seats outside. There is a parking lot but it seemed expensive so I recommend parking on the street and pay the meter. read more

Doner kebab and boba? German, Turkish, Asian influences. Only in LA. This fast food restaurant is located in a plaza near 3rd and La Cienega. One of very few spots with parking which helps in this densely populated area. This serves up Doner in different combos. Sandwich, wraps, rice and salad bowls. I had the rice bowl. Came with a curry type rice which honestly had too much curry for me. The beef and lamb kebab shaved was pretty good. This rice plate was served with a side salad, onions and cucumber, and marinated red cabbage. Original spicy sauce was fairly mild. And, yes, there's boba options for smoothies. Service here was slow at first waiting at the register but was timely with the food. Overall, was just okay. read more

I will reserve the update! They seem to have hired a new staff which really does excellent job. The food reminds me of my childhood in Germany, everybody brings back memories. The prices have gone up quite a bit over the years, understandable and still worth it to fill my cravings. The beef and lamb on pita bread is the way to go. One of my favorite places to eat in LA, I'm glad they worked out the kinks are back to being the best! read more

I've been looking for a good spot for doner kebab in LA. Berlins is a good choice for a good portion size and quality. I had a rice bowl with beef and lamb. Turns out hospital staff get a discount, so I'm glad I was still in my scrubs after work! The employee was so kind and friendly. It was pretty late so there were only the last bits of rice left. I said that was totally fine - and then he still gave me extra veggies for no extra charge to make up for it. I got the tzaziki on top which was a great choice. The rice was a little crunchy and dry, and the meat could have been more moist. But overall it was very delicious and I would come back for a decently portioned and affordable meal. read more

The house and garlic sauces were delicious bread perfectly thin and crispy, generous portions of meat paired with right blend of veggies. How ever no eye opening or addicting flavors that'll entice you to come back. Moreover the meat was not juicy at all it wasn't painstakingly dry but if you're going to slab that much meat on it should be juicy. The only reason I gave them three stars is because after the wedding reception was over and after my MIL gave each of the Dr. Sandwich workers a $100 tip each, they took all the bread away with them, bread we paid for. My husband was furious and keeps fuming about it to this day. He said he would like the bread back. Otherwise, we love this place. Today, my husband ordered the chicken shawrma plate, my dad had the beef kebab, my mom had the chicken breast plate, and I had the eggplant sabich pita. We took our food to go, and my husband also had me order a falafel pita sandwich for him as he was too hungry to wait until driving to my parents to eat. The food was extremely delicious.
