I have been eating here for many years . They had to close down to clean up due to low score by the health inspector couple of years back. I see the decline through the years . The rude customer service was always there since day 1 but I put up with it due to liking the food . There is this older man who works there since day 1 and he gives you a stare down each time you ask for a plastic fork. They charge additional 3% if you use credit card , meaning they let you pay for that cost of using a credit card instead of taking it on like most businesses. The rudeness of their staff was at its peak the last time I was there hence for this review that I am writing now. They gave me a wrong order and was not apologetic at all making it seem like it's fully my fault. $13.00 for a roast pork rice is an all time high. I had a pretty solid experience coming here last time. For a supermarket food court restaurant, while more expensive than some other places around town, they did have some solid quality. I also love the fact that they're open until 9pm and you can still get dim sum at night! I got orders of the Beef Ho Fun, Soup Dumplings, Turnip Cakes, and Wonton Soup. The Ho Fun was a good sized portion with lots of tender strips of beef and wok seared onions that complemented the chewy and slightly crispy rice noodles. The soup dumplings were alright, but the turnip cakes were a good size and had just the right amount of crispness on the outside from being seared on the flattop. But the best item to me was the Wonton Soup. It was a giant bowl with probably 14 shrimp and pork wontons. They were nice and plump with good sized chunks of shrimp on the inside. Really delicious and totally warms you up on a cold night. Will be back again for late night eats next time! :) read more

I am on the fence with regard to eating here. I was hungry for an Asian type soup. In particular, a won ton min. What I got from this place was so very different from any type of won ton min I have had over my many years. First, the broth had zero flavor. Open water faucet, turn on hot and pour in bowl kinda taste. Secondly, the won tons contained full sized shrimp wrapped in the won ton wrappers. Now, admittedly, this may be traditional type of won tons on Pleasant Hill, however, not even close to what I grew up with in Honolulu. So, will pass on any renewed future cravings here. read more

I'm a foodie and I love their food there, but their service, not so good. The staffs are rude, luckily their food is good. Love this restaurant in the supermarket. We have been patrons for many years. We take out every time and they are as good as eating there.

I love this place. They have everything from your basic roasted duck, roasted pig, and Pipa duck (basically a duck cut in half and prepped before bbq to make it crispier than normal roasted duck). They have dimsum and who wouldn have thought this place in a food court beats alllll dimsum places I have been to in atlanta. The xiu mai is to die for. It is freshly made and not frozen, xiu mai is combined between pork and shrimp so you don't have to compromise to only getting pork and shrimp. The combination between pork and shrimp is amazing. The stuffed eggplant is also amazing. The crispy shrimp roll is amazingly fresh and so juicy. The tofu skin stuffed was good but I enjoyed the crispy shrimp roll much more. So many items to try. The portion for each dimsum is like double of other places also. The wait for your dimsum can be quite long but it's totally worth the wait for fresh dim sum! I always ask for the special dimsum sauce (not your typical soy sauce, I still don't know what it is) They also have a main menu that is known as cantonese food such as wonton noodle soup. So, the good news is their health score is a 91 now!! I journeyed up to the Duluth area with my mom on a Sunday morning to do some serious Asian grocery store shopping and we decided to break for lunch at Best BBQ. She loves this place and I can totally see why. There was a small crowd when we ordered at 11:30 but nothing too crazy, however, they were super busy by the time we finished eating at noon. This place is located in a food court of a supermarket so it's all self-serve and because it's a Chinese place, the people aren't going to be super friendly or anything, but again, that's expected. I let my mom take the lead and she ordered the necessities: Har Gow (shrimp dumplings), Shumai (pork dumplings), turnip cake, and a three meat BBQ combo meal (because who can resist that succulent, fatty meat hanging in the window?!). At the counter there's freshly brewed hot tea and ice-cold water for the American Asians. There's also fresh house-made chili oil, soy sauce, and red vinegar. You'd think with typical dim sum, and because I can put away some dim sum, three small plates and one BBQ combo would not be too much food. WRONG. The dim sum here is HUGE. Like so, so big. I've heard the chef was hired from NYC and it totally shows. The quality of the meat inside the delicate wrapping is plump, juicy, incredible. Even the turnip cake is better than any one I've had in Atlanta. The combo also came with like a cup of hearty soup. Lunch costs us $20 and I have enough leftovers for a filling dinner. I travel to many states in the US, and this place has the most delicious and reasonably priced Cantonese style crispy fried noodle! The "Eight Treasures Noodle" used to be a stable dish of all Cantonese restaurants. You get seafood, chicken, pork, vegetables, everything but the kitchen sink as toppings on a bed of crispy fried noodles. That is one of my favorite dish since childhood. Unfortunately, in recent years most Cantonese restaurants don't offer it anymore. The offer "Seafood crispy fried noodle" as the closet alternative, and charge insanely high prices, and most of the Seafood fried noodle alters are NOT good at all. I am still in love with the dim sum here especially when I crave it after 2/3pm and that is when restaurants wrap up and no longer serve it. Here you can order dim sum at anytime of the day. The make it fresh to order. I usually wait about 15-20 minutes for it to cook but that's ok because the food is always so good. They also give free water and hot tea so that's awesome. On certain days they have baked desserts like egg custard or sesame balls if you have a sweet tooth. So far everything I ordered here has always been delicious. They haven't disappointed me. Soy sauce chicken: this is a staple Cantonese chicken dish often found at bbq shops. The meat is juicy and perfect when dipped in soy sauce and diced Thai chiles (prepared at home) and the ginger and scallion condiment. Best BBQ is a Hong Kong style Chinese BBQ food court stall located inside the Great Wall Supermarket in Duluth. This place is great. The name of the business is appropriate because it indeed is one of the best places in metro Atlanta to get Cantonese roasted meats. Hong Kong BBQ inside Chamblee's Chinatown Mall food court and Big Wong BBQ inside Hong Kong Supermarket's food court (Norcross) also come to mind as well as Ming's BBQ to a certain extent (ITP and OTP). Best BBQ may be the best of the lot. It's certainly the newest, and cleanest, and they accept credit cards. Some of the aforementioned competitors are cash only. Pork, duck, chicken -- they have it all and it's on display behind a glass window just like the street stalls in Hong Kong. This place is popular and the food turns over quick, meaning the meats stay fresh. I've sat and ate lunch here and seen entire racks of pork and several sets of whole duck get chopped and replenished at a brisk rate. The BBQ meats are served in an assortment of styles. Examples: - Pork: crispy (with fat), honey BBQ (char siu), BBQ spare ribs - Duck: roasted, salted, bitter, crispy, pipa (flattened) - Chicken: poached, soy sauce, salted, scallion oil (my dad's favorite) BBQ isn't the only thing on the menu. There's also congee (rice porridge), noodle soups, rice dishes, dim sum, and other entrees. All very good. Like other Asian food court stalls, there are helpful picture menus on the wall. Best BBQ actually has a rather long counter. Part of the counter has packaged, ready-made foods like pig ears (both marinated and unmarinated), chicken feet (just like dim sum), peanut fish, and duck kidneys. Finally, one of the best "features" or "secrets" (it's not really a secret to Chinese people) of Best BBQ is you can buy fresh seafood (e.g. live lobster) and/or other foods at the supermarket and bring it over and the chefs will cook it for you. They are very accommodating as far as requests go. Dishes, whether it's foods you bring over from the supermarket or Best BBQ's own, are highly customizable, just so long as there's no language barrier (which there very may well be). I think the prices are fair, especially for the quality of meat you get. I've found that the roasted meats here are generally fresher, leaner, and relatively less greasy than the other guys. Pork can be purchased at $9.50 per pound (perhaps slightly above the average going rate). Whole duck can be purchased for $21.95. Whole chicken, about $17-18 each. Note these have already been cooked and possibly seasoned or marinated. Congee is affordable at roughly $5-7 per bowl. Noodle soups are $7-8 per bowl. Rice plates are roughly $7-8 each. All of the roasted meats I've tried have been terrific. I highly recommend the honey BBQ pork (char siu), roast duck, soy sauce chicken, and scallion oil chicken. They are great on-the-go or at the food court. My family loves getting pounds of the roast pork by itself to take home. The noodle soups are fantastic. The savory broth is comparably light to other Hong Kong noodle soups I've had around town. I like the egg noodles they use. Very appetizing. Chinese broccoli is a common veggie used in the soups to accompany the noodles and meat. Both the roast duck and BBQ pork go great in the soups. Note the duck is chopped and served bone-in. The crispy pork and BBQ pork are boneless. The duck meat is tender and the pork is simply delicious. The rice plates are very good too. The meats are served over white rice with a generous helping of chopped Chinese mustard greens and a small bowl of chicken stock with taro and sweet potato. The soup is bland, but it's there to offset the richness and somewhat intense flavors of the roasted meats. No matter what form of BBQ you order, the meats will be chopped and served directly from the display rack in front of you. It's fun to watch. Don't overlook the dim sum either! Best BBQ's dim sum is actually quite good and stands up to the best dim sum restaurants in Atlanta. I've only had Best BBQ's dim sum on weekends around lunchtime, so I'm not sure if they offer dim sum on weekdays. Some dim sum items I like to get here are chicken feet (one of my favorite dim sum items since I was a child) and xiaolongbao, which are Shanghai soup dumplings. It's amazing how much great food this food court stall pumps out. Payment is done upfront. Dine-in orders are served on trays. Take-out orders are served in Styrofoam or sturdy plastic containers with snap-shut lids and securely packaged/tied in plastic bags. A self-serve pitcher of water + disposable chopsticks, condiments (e.g. chili oil) are available at the pick-up counter. If dining in, trays with used dishes/silverware should be returned at the far left counter of the stall. Ample parking is available in the Great Wall Supermarket parking lot. If long lines are an indicator of popularity, my guess is Best BBQ wins. I think the menu selection has to do with that. I see many order the Dimsum, the Congee (HUGE bowls) and the Seafood & Vegetable. Crowd is all Chinese. My eyes are always drawn to the hanging roasted duck and pork (I love duck). You will feel like you're in China and forget you're really in Duluth -- they seem to understand English at this particular food court stall. Another thing to note is that the big red "English only" menu on the wall has higher prices than the menus located at the cashier stand -- so look at the smaller menus :) ROAST DUCK NOODLE SOUP - $7.70 Thanks to Kristin B's review - also the weather was cold and rainy - so the noodle soup was calling my name. You can find Best BBQ Cantonese Cuisine at 2300 Pleasant Hill Rd, Duluth, GA 30096 in the Great Wall Supermarket about a block west of Satellite Blvd where it crosses Pleasant Hill Rd. This is the market directly across from Sweet Hut Bakery. When you walk into the supermarket its along the food court to the left, all the way in back - look for tall black letters "CANTONESE CUISINE." I met with a group of friends for a lunch UYE at the Great Wall Supermarket hosted by Tuong Vi P (https://www.yelp.com/events/duluth-uye-lets-do-saturday-lunch-great-wall-supermarket) - basically about a dozen of us sampled various treats from one of about 5-6 restaurants in the food court. This food court specializes in authentic Chinese cuisine so you'll see variations of dumplings, saucy dishes, pork belly and Chinese BBQ. The Saturday was extremely busy with a full market and full food court - it took some time to gather together the many tables we needed and people kept coming to join our group. Best BBQ Cantonese Cuisine focuses on Chinese BBQ with several samples hanging from the display window. The menu offers many items, some I'm not very familiar with but the sections for Congee and Noodle Soup had the most options. I decided to try something a bit different so after studying the menu order the soup dumplings (one of my favorites) alone with the roasted duck. I stood in line for about 15 minutes as it was quite busy. Together these two took about 20 minutes to come to me with each dishes being delivered at different times. The woman behind the counter was a bit off-putting as I think she had some difficulty communicating with me - the next time I'll make sure I have someone with me that can translate a bit - not blaming her but anything beyond pointing at menu line items seemed to be a bit beyond what she could accommodate. The duck I thought was OK but I prefer the roasted duck you can find at Bo Bo Garden in Buford Hwy - the consistency was similar but the sauces at Bo Bo gives it more flavor - what I received at Best BBQ was just served on rice. The soup dumplings were delicious with a strong shrimp flavor - the broth was also quite good and not overly salty. I'm no expert in Chinese food, unfortunately growing up in the US offered up mostly the schwag Chinese food found in the likes of restaurants with names like "Golden Buddha" - you know what I mean, however I believe the flavors found in this mall are very authentic. Plenty of people complain about the service but honestly, this restaurant is in high demand and I understand the no frills attitude. As long as you know your order and have your payment ready when approaching the counter, all is well. I've been here a few times. I appreciate the late hours and expansive menu. The dim sum is hit or miss. The har gao and shumai are the most consistent however they do NOT travel well so keep this in mind. The roast pork is the only BBQ I've ordered and it's good! Not the best but really good. It will definitely satisfy your cravings. The skin is super crispy and salty, the meat is juicy. Typically, there is still room for a little more fat to be rendered so there's that... but it's still delicious. 9 times out of 10, they will overcompensate for the requested amount of meat. Considering this is weighed out, they don't care how much it is after it's been cut so I recommend under ordering for the roast pork. read more

The family and I decided to try this spot after reading (and seeing the pics in) a Blissful Glutton review (she never steers us wrong). I was intrigued by the idea of ordering dim sum items made fresh to order instead of picking items that may be not-so-fresh or cold from a cart that has been circling for a while. So glad we tried it. We ordered the xiao long bao (soup dumplings), and they were excellent. Fresh and juicy. I bit into one (rookie mistake) and sent soup flying across the table at my husband. Excellent sign. We also had the shu mai (pork dumplings). They were huge, compared to the shu mai I see at most Atlanta dim sum restaurants. Tasty and delicious. I have no idea what the other dish we ordered it called. It is the fried tapioca stuffed with pork. It is my absolute favorite dim sum dish, and Best BBQ did it incredibly well. Finally, we had chow fun noodles (beef, wide-rice noodles, and bean sprouts). All of the food was delicious. Perfect, even. We went on a Sunday morning. That may have been a mistake. It was very crowded. There was a long line (that moved pretty quickly). And picking up the order was incredibly hectic and crowded. This is place is located at the end of the food court wall in the Great Wall Chinese Supermarket. If you never been to this super market, I would definitely go just for the food court, as it has some of the most authentic Chinese options I've seen in the entire state. Best BBQ, out of all of them is my favorite. They're mostly known for their roasted duck, which hangs on a hook right in front you. They have tons of other Chinese dishes, like fried rice, chow fun, and of course wonton noodle. They also serve dim sum but it tends to sell out quickly especially on the weekend mornings, when the market is packed. Everything about this place is good, not much to complain about. I mean the food court itself and the supermarket do look kind of ghetto, but that just makes it even more authentic. Trust me you won't be finding any panda mascots here, just the fresh smells of MSG (you can tell it's a joke right?). Good food and prices for the portions for a food court spot inside Great Wall supermarket. It smells funny if you're going to eat there so you're probably better off ordering To-Go with the fish aisle not too far away, there's a strong stench. These were nice a crispy but we all agreed it tastes like soaked mama noodles in its seasoning packets that have then been dried and deep fried and the gravy made to top it off, added protein and veggies. Being said they are tasty and didn't leave me that night needing to chug three bottles of water after from so much msg like other places. We also had the sautéed green beans which were plentiful and flavorful! Came with a side of steamed rice and a bowl of broth. We tried the fried rice and were happy to see the healing plate full and the taste was also create. Wok charred that you'd expect in Chinese cuisine done correctly that's fragrant but not burnt. A two-choice BBQ meat combination costs $16 plus tax while the price was $12 prior to the price increase. A 33% price increase is totally shocking. For a food court restaurant, this place was pretty good. Stopped here for some lunch with the date and his friends today, and I have to say I am impressed. This was not their first time here, but it was for me. The food portion was pretty large since it was about $10. The mi xao I got was pretty good. They added too much seasoning (curry seasoning?) that made it very potent, but it was pretty good and flavorful. It came with small shrimp pieces and BBQ pieces tossed with green pepper strips. The date had the wonton and duck noodle shop (?). That thing was super hot when it came out with huge pieces of wonton. There was a slight spicy kick to this, but it was good. This was also a fairly large portion size. The bowl's size was somewhat either a medium to large pho bowl. Well, something like that. lol. I don't eat pho enough to remember the difference between the medium and large, but let's just say this noodle soup was pretty decently sized. As of September 2021, they have raised their dim sum prices significantly. What used to be "large", are now "Specials". What used to be "small" are now "Mediums". For example the turnip cake used to be "small" at $3.55, now it's $5. The sticky rice in lotus leaf used to be a "large" at $5.75 per order, now it's a "Special" at $7 per order. On top of that all the prices have gone up. Their medium dishes used to be $4.65, now they are $5 each. Most of their dim sum taste pretty good, but I had a horrible experience today. I paid $50 for 9 dim sum plates. 2 plates of the siu mai were sour and rotten tasting. That's $5 x 2 plates that's inedible. $10 down the toilet. If you are going to raise your prices, you should not serve your customers bad meat. This was inexcusable. Their roast meats are also much more expensive. $16 a pound for siu yuk (the crispy pork) and sometimes they give you a lot of bone. Over $26 for a roast duck. Do yourself a favor and head down the street to Ming's BBQ for more reasonable prices. Unfortunately due to the pandemic, we have been getting take out from here. If we were eating there, I would have taken the siu mai up to the counter and demanded a refund. read more

Husband and I have been long time customers since we moved to Georgia in 2015. For the past few years, we have only ordered dim sum or roasted items from them. However last week we decided to order other dishes, the two dishes we ordered: stir fried vegetables (only couple broccoli, couple mushrooms, few choy sum stems, chewy baby corn, two tiny pieces of cabbage and vermicelli) for $20, salt and pepper varieties (5 hard to peel, intestines still in tact shrimps, 2.5 pieces of paper thin pork chops, bunch of chewy and hard calamari) for $26. I was furious about the price and the quality of the food. If you can charge me this much, please cook something good and palatable, the pork chop is paper thin, I didn't even see any meat except the batter. My husband had a really hard time to peel the shrimps and get the intestines out because everything was stick on the shrimps, at last he had to give up. The calamari was hard as a piece of fiber, there was no way we can chew it. We are so disappointed! Why cheat the customers and make the ONE TIME profit? From now on, I would rather patronize Humble House or any other one next door because their price is reasonable and the quality of the food is steady. read more

Really good food but really dirty... failed their health inspection score a few times. Yet, their BBQ is so tasty that my family keeps coming back and their business has honestly not waned at all. Located at the end of food court in Great Wall Supermarket, it is definitely the busiest stall there. They serve dim sum, chinese bbq, and other traditional cantonese dishes such as wonton noodle soup. I've had their chinese bbq, beef chow fun, and wonton noodle soup, all were really tasty. Protip: I recommend getting your food togo because it can be a bit disturbing to see how dirty their dining area is. They do have another location on Buford highway that's a bit newer and cleaner that is also located in the "Asian Supermarket". read more

Surprisingly legit Cantonese spot at the back of Great Wall supermarket. When I walked in on a Sunday morning, it was probably the most popular food court stall, as I could see a line of people waiting for food. I tried: Scallion chicken - Yummy! Chicken is pretty tender and the scallion oil adds a nice bit of flavor. Pretty satisfied. Pig ears (marinated) - This was a surprise winner. I originally saw their spicy pig ears in the glass display to the left of the cashier but the cashier thought we wanted the marinate ones (which I didn't know they had). So glad I got those, full of that classic marinated flavor. It's served hot, so the skin on the outside was soft while the cartilage remained crunchy. Different than the typical served cold pig ears (where the skin is usually more firm after being chilled) but good. Also super cheap! Peanut mochi - The mochi part is very good, just the right consistency. The peanut filling worked really well for me. So satisfied. read more

We were craving Cantonese food and ended up at Best BBQ by accident. It's at the very end of the food court inside Great Wall Supermarket. Not the cleanest place, but they have a large variety of traditional Cantonese eats, dim sum, and a variety of BBQ meats. My go to Cantonese dish is always: - Cha siew (roast BBQ pork) noodle soup: You get your choice of noodle and it comes in a savory broth with veggies and meat. Their BBQ meats are among the best I've had in Gwinnett. Soup had great flavor but they seem to be heavy on the MSG. I was so thirsty while/after my meal, I drank a couple cups of water. We also got the Singapore rice noodle. Essentially, it's a thin rice noodle with a dry curry base. For $10.95 you get plenty, though again, it will leave you thirsty. Overall, solid Cantonese food and good for a quick meal. Would definitely go back to explore their vast menu. read more
