Three years ago I had Best LA movers move me. I also stored my belongings at their storage units. I cannot say enough about the customer service. They have gone beyond and above my wildest expectations. I stored my things with them for three years and when I went to move my stuff it looked as if everything had come right out of my house. Sam and his moving personnel were a pleasure to interact with and massively helpful to me given my unusual moving situation. My home was flooded and I had to abruptly move out. It was a nightmare of a situation, and I had to use whatever moving company was available immediately to move out so that demolition work and water mitigation could begin. Best LA Movers was available on very short notice, packed every single item carefully (nothing they could do about the stuff already damaged by the flood), and relocated it to a storage locker. Sam was so incredibly courteous to me during this time, ensuring I could locate what I needed out of the locker everything was abruptly moved to, and ensuring I could utilize them later to move stuff back when home repairs were completed. Sam and his team were so kind as to even place things they knew I'd likely want in the short term from my flooded home near the front of my storage locker so I could pull them out and use them. For example, I found my videogames and various other sports gear (surfboards, wetsuits, ski gear) placed in the most accessible part of the locker. 8 months later when it was time to move back, I had another positive experience with Sam and his company, that very courteously moved things back in and working around some confusion (on part of an unrelated contractor company that was doing some work at the same time as the move) to ensure things went smoothly. I could not recommend this company highly enough. I found the rates reasonable. Yes, it costs money to get a reputable moving company on very short notice and have them put in extra time to pack everything given my unusual moveout circumstances, but I found those costs reasonable. They canceled on me 5 days before my move with NO SOLID EXPLANATION other than "we aren't on the same page." I was told so many good things about this company, and then after actually signing up to use them, it was a complete NIGHTMARE!! I wouldn't recommend this company to my worst enemy. Expect nothing to be told to you on the front end. You will find out many details AFTER THE FACT. PLEASE AVOID AT ALL COSTS!! UPDATE AFTER COMMENT: I emailed them to confirm my appointment was canceled so I wouldn't be charged since I figured if they would cancel 5 days before that, they might charge me for a no-show too (HINT: Shady folks). It was 100% their rep who told me, "We are not on the same page, so this will not work. I am canceling your appointment" NOT TO MENTION, he started telling me it would be "too expensive." So I will admit I disagreed with their plan but only because they CHANGED the plan a week before my move. Lastly, there was NO MENTION of it being a 2-day move when I signed up. Then last week, I was told it could be a 2-day move, but if we left before 11am, it would be done the same day. Don't tell customers one thing and then backtrack on it. Sam not only accommodated me but also promised to hold the truck till I made my decision the next day as I was reviewing quotes from other companies as well. Ultimately, I chose another company because 1) they offered an all inclusive price, which although a little higher, gave the piece of mind and certainty around what I would end up paying 2) they had much numerous Yelp review which made me comfortable about their service offer. What wowed me was that Sam really took the feedback to heart and was really concerned about losing my business. He took a personal interest and he really wanted to understand how he can make things right so that he can win my business the next time. This was such an unacceptable moving experience that I needed to warn future clients. Like Grace, the boxes they used were used themselves. Not all of them, but enough for too many (about 1/3 to 1/2) to be ripped with things falling out when they arrived, labeled for other places and torn at the edges. I understand I was charged the same as for new boxes. This is entirely unethical unless it is disclosed in advance. The packing was abysmal. Rarely were glass items wrapped. And if they were low on time, which they were, I could understand. But the boxes were over-full and not closed on top. Things were falling out the top, and tape was put around a blanket or a basket that was about to fall out. Lamp shades came loose, without protection. One had the lining ripped and two others were dirty as a result. Things broke. There was a small table where the top of the table was ripped from the base. It could easily have been unscrewed. They didn't bother. Sam was supercilious, overbearing and demanding. He was also defensive. When I complained about the broken boxes and the state of the packing, he instructed his crew to hurry and leave immediately. He kept asking me if I got an invoice and, too busy to check, he just kept asking. He wanted me to tip on the spot, surrounded by boxes, things falling out, boxes torn. This was entirely unreasonable. The crew head was amazing. The others didn't speak to me. Sam arrived and left and came again at the end. Due to COVID we did not stick around for the entire packing job, but I paid the price later. Every single box had to be re-packed by me before I could move it again. read more

They offer full service, from packing all my house belongings, blankets and shrink wrap protection, and moving. This company moved us for LA to Las Vegas over a weekend. The price was fair and we were charged exactly what the quote had been. The movers were professional and worked very quickly to get our things out onto the truck and get us on our way. The best thing is that this company will use a dedicated truck. Every other moving company we called said it would be 10 - 14 days until our items could be delivered. We only had a weekend to move in. Sam accommodated this need. I found Best LA Movers company on Yelp and we made an appointment with them to do our moving from a small apartment to a house. I was really worried as the apartment was really small and I did not know how they would move around and disassemble the appliances or take downstairs. I was quoted one price with 4 movers. Five movers show up saying they will get the job done faster. It took 5.5 hours to move my 1 bedroom apartment which included a 40 minute travel time. They charged me over double what was quoted and included charges for double driving time of which I was told via email that I would not be charged since I was only moving 2 miles down the road...who takes 40 minutes to drive 2 miles?!?!?!. They also added bogus charges for 1.5 rolls of bubble tape ($89 a roll!), this is after they assured me over email that they typically use .5 a roll for a 1 bedroom apartment. 18 moving boxes! We had everything boxed up! In the quote, they say they wrap everything with their moving blankets, which are free of charge, but they're lying, they use boxes so they can charge you. They wrapped a cheap stool in $8 worth of boxes and they did that and more for other bigger furniture. 15 rolls of tape! At $3 a roll I thought they couldn't possibly use more than 2. Seems like they spend all their time unnecessarily wrapping furniture in their expensive boxes, tape and shrink wrap. Save yourself and steer clear of these movers. You will NOT be happy with their service. They also left stuff broken. They'll say that they wrap everything so nothing gets broken but they're full of shit. They break stuff anyways, my very nice dresser is now unusable and a couple of others things were lost of stolen (who knows with these guys). They just want to "justify" scamming you. read more

I just moved last week. Sam and his team did a great job, very professional, but I had a few issues with the job. Firstly, they seemed to linger quite a bit when they weren't in my unit. One time, they disappeared for 30 min, and it wasn't a bathroom break or anything! They also overcharged me for the used materials they had to pack my stuff. There was this cheap used runner and plastic they put on my stairs, which kept moving and didn't protect my carpet. That was $200. Any boxes I saw were used, and I was charged close to $200 for those too. The movers were professional and friendly, except one used my bathroom, didn't ask, and didn't flush the toilet probably on purpose, but during COVID, not a good thing. At the end, I saw they charged me $2000 to move a one bedroom apt with one person from LA to OC. They got lost, and took almost two hours for a less than one hour trip. Fortunately I wasn't charged for this error. I emailed the whole team, requesting an adjustment but never heard back from them. Because they wouldn't address my issues and I felt they overcharged me, I would not recommend them to others. Not very fair or professional. read more
