Beta Automotive Superstore is great. Sam is accommodating, straight forward, and a very easy person to work with. His prices are competitive and in my case, not even an issue. Of course part of buying a used vehicle is knowing what you want and that you are buying a USED VEHICLE. I bought a 2009 GMC Sierra from him and from test drive to driving the truck home it was about a total of 90 minutes. The truck was beautiful inside and out. I found a vehicle I was interested in on Beta's website and I sent a request for a test drive that was called back immediately by the owner, Sam. He was willing to accommodate my schedule for the test drive and the vehicle was exactly as advertised. When I returned from my test drive, we agreed on a price and Sam had already pre-done 90% of the paperwork in the event it was going to be a sale, which it was! I purchased my truck and was out of there in 30 minutes. Very professional service. All DMV and California state titles transfer paperwork was taken care of by Beta while I was signing paperwork... Wonderful experience. Car was exactly as advertised. Better than I expected, honestly. Been in the market for a very particular car for months and checked out around 8 and this is the first one that lived up to the description and pictures. Been to private sellers, dealerships, every car sale website imaginable. This was the very first one that: 1. I instantly saw and had a good feeling. 2. Exactly as advertised, not a single surprise. 3. Was very comfortable with the seller, Sam was fantastic and super friendly. He knows his business well, I believe he said he has been in auto sales for over 20-something years, but his own business is relatively new within the last couple years. I don't want to spoil it for any potential customers, but I'd let summarize his philosophy on buying cars. He explained to me how when he buys cars, what he looks for is something reliable, easy to sell, and most importantly, ANY of the cars he has up for sale has to be good enough to sell to his grandma, if she came in and picked any car. I get it too. It's so much easier (IMO) to resell cars that aren't lemons, don't have major issues and just being open and honest. That is what matters to me-- honesty. If you're in the used car market, then you should know how scummy and fake it can all get, REALLY fast. Even at well established dealerships. and I didn't have any doubts here, at all. Rather than post immediately after purchasing, I wanted to wait around 90 days to post. I bought a 2013 BMW 3-series from Sam in early September. Sam was great through the entire process - no sales pressure. Was able to flex to my schedule to see the car. Car had 1-previous owner, excellent condition. Purchasing was a really easy process, a nice change from big dealerships. Took maybe 25 minutes, Beta took care of all paperwork filing with DMV. One issue my car had, which we identified before purchase, was a missing gas cap cover. When I was looking to buy, Sam said "I will order that for you". True to his word, a few days after I purchased he called me confirming he had it, I stopped by the premises and he fitted it. 90 days on, the car is running perfectly! Very satisfied. read more

Started off a good experience, sold us on a SUV, felt trustworthy and all that. Left the lot and their was a nail in the tire. So Sam was willing to replace it, which was awesome. Ok then a week later the engine light comes on. It's starts coming on and off for weeks after buying the SUV. Then one day my girlfriend calls me saying her car is smoking. This les then 2 months after buying the car. I get there and there is a coolant hose crack off and laying on the engine, which was burning the rubber and causing smoke. This also caused the car to over heat. Come to find out the car had the wrong part, and had a plastic 3 way connector rigged to the 3 rubber hoses which take coolant to various locations on the car to keep it cool. The month was a summer hot month and just cracked the faulty part and cauSed the leak. The alignment was also way off on the car which he didn't fix, and the transmission in first gear is pulling hard. All this stuff in not even 2 months from purchase. Had to buy the correct part that SHOULD of been on this $7000 vehicle he said was inspected and in great working order, and pay someone to install it for us, pay for multiple Gallons of coolant and a new thermostat that was also shot. This should not of been sold in this condition and should of been caught. All it took was weather to heat up to reveal the faulty part that was blatantly previously spliced and cut on, to save the previous mechanic time and money jimmy rigging it, instead of putting the correct part in before selling it in the first place. I have pictures of all of this for proof. Reached out to Sam, on the only number we used to communicate with him for all our business leads up to sale, during sale, and after sale, always perfectly got ahold of him. This time he said he didn't get the call because he happened to be robbed the exact day we contacted him and didn't know about it until a week later when we put up a google review about this. We offered to update the review if he would just do the right thing and help us with the costs, since it was so obvious that this part was wrong and was put In the vehicle Before we bought it, and was faulty and caused us issues from the beginning, and we spend thousands on this vehicle to have it go crazy weeks after purchase. He got mad at the review and blamed us and the car being older and refused to help us. Mind you we had an older expedition with much more miles on it, we bought for much less before this one and it last 2 years without any issue at all. A good condition vehicle shouldn't have a problem the first week of leaving the used lot and go undrivable in month and a half. With a nail in the tire, alignment shot, engine lights, faulty part, overheating. All in weeks of buying. It was the CAR not us or the Age. It's a $7000 2007 SUV in listed in great running condition. A engine light and all this mess starting within days of leaving the lot is WRONG. We just wanted what was fair, and we would of been more then willing to be fair back and change reviews. But we felt neglected, Ignored, and cheated. It's unfortunate, Sam seems like a nice guy, but needs to make sure his vehicles go out good and when some slips through the cracks like ours, to just make it right. read more

I am a senior women on a fixed income. I am trying to sell this car that I bought from Sam 2 yrs ago for $15000 and Car Max offered me $3300. I still owe $6500. How does he live with himself? Being a first time car buyer I went in not knowing what to expect. I went in with a lot of trust, and was expecting honesty. That's was the last thing I got. I feel used and taken advantage of and it was and still till this day a nightmare first experience. I've had my "new" car now for only 2 months and it's already starting to fall apart. The first month of having the car the check engine light came on. Then the transmission started to have a pull from first the 2nd. Now it's overheating with a heater hose that's not even the original part of the car it's a makeshift version of a DIY mechanic that's absolute garbage and leaks all the coolant when it overheats. Im stuck paying a lease on a car that can't be driven and that is sitting in my drive way I depend on my car for work. This car has given me so much stress and is draining me of all my funds while I'm still trying to pay it off. My car was described as excellent condition that was a lie! I bought a Lexus 670 SUV months ago but wanted to hold off to rate my experience. From the time I made the first enquiry to when we signed off, it was excellent service. I personally want to thank Sam for a job well done looking for the truck I wanted, for being flexible with my time going back & forth. I'm a RN & need a dependable, solid car, that's what Sam got me, I have since referred others to him & they are extremely pleased. This is a used car, so my expectations weren't to have a faultless car. Some people want to buy a used car & expect the car shop to know all the problems with the vehicle, it's impossible. When you purchase an orange or avocado, until you get home & peel it open you don't know what it looks like inside. Buyer Beware. As a young adult, I urge any young person to stay far away from this business and this man. He sells you a story and completely misrepresents his vehicles. Within 24 hours of owning my car, the check engine light was on. Within 72 hours the car wouldn't even start. When a code reader was ran on the vehicles computer to find out what the issue was, it came back that the check engine light had been turned off, no doubt by the same man who sold me the car. After only a month of owning the car, it was brought to my attention that the whole engine needed replacing as oil had leaked throughout the entirety of it. I first contacted Sam when the issues started to arise and blatantly asked if he would be willing to take it back. Of course, he denied. I have been in contact with Sam for most of this emotional rollercoaster trying to get my money back and losing sleep over my dumpster fire of a car. This man will say he is sorry for all of the issues that have been happening with your vehicle while doing nothing to help you at all. Hindsight is always 20/20 in these situations and I feel like a complete idiot for ever giving this man or his "business" the time of day. As for anyone who is thinking about buying a car from Sam, just know, he is the shady car salesman that your parents warn you about, he just covers it up better than most. And for anyone who has bought a car from Sam and is just now reading the Yelp! reviews on his business, I am truly sorry you ever gave your money to this man.
