Showed up early, got in got out with some good coffee and some bomba azz snacks, hands down the must go to coffee house when in LA Jolla. *Staff is on point. *menus is easy to read. *Service is great. *communication is on point (especially this early morning 7AM) *No doubt (like the band) I'm sure you can't go wrong ordering any thing from this location. Thanks morning staff.

I can't believe how popular Better Buzz has become! I was pleasantly surprised to find this location as soon as I stepped out of the parking structure on my way to La Jolla Cove. I've been to several of their Orange County locations, so it was nice to stumble upon one while I was on vacation. It felt like a little taste of home, even if home is only about 90 minutes away. Of course, I ordered my go-to Snickerdoodle Latte, and it was just as delicious as it is at every other Better Buzz I've visited. The location is super convenient for anyone heading to or from La Jolla Cove, and I'm sure I'll be back the next time I'm in the area.

My matcha was grey. Half my matcha was in unsifted chunks at the bottom of the cup. See pictures. Food: 1/5 All the drinks are syrupy sweet. And just look at my matcha. It was only banana syrup. There are unsifted chunks at the bottom of the cup, and the color is just grey. Service: 1/5 And I would have complained about my drink too!! But everyone was so unfriendly and overworked here. There is only one minute of interaction during a transaction for me to decide if I like the service, and not only was the cashier unresponsive, she would also talk over me as I'm ordering. The one minute of interaction made me feel like a burden. Atmosphere: 2/5 It was cute in here. But I felt very unwelcome. I would not recommend this place to anyone. I have told everyone I know who likes matcha to avoid this place. Final rating: 1.33 (rounding down to 1 on Yelp)

Thought it was a stand alone coffee spot but it turns out they have a few locations. We stumbled across it as we were walking in La Jolla and of course we had to try it It has an interesting outdoor indoor vibe. There was a line but it went pretty quickly. They had a variety of drinks but I opted for a summer special which had a coconut macadamia cream on top. Drinks came out quickly considering it was busy. Taste of the coffee was good, not too sweet and it was cute too!!! Just fyi bathroom line is longer than the coffee line

Such a yummy drink - dirty chai latte with oat milk and banana cold foam. The cashier was so sweet helping us out since we had never been there before and I was asking about the menu. Our drinks came out quick and we took them with us as we walked around the town! I would love to try different drinks from there if I ever get back to one in CA. The shop is so fun since it's half inside and outside. It's expensive, but most coffee everywhere is expensive - especially in CA.

This place can get busy and there isn't much seating for the traffic that comes through. There's lots of food and coffee options which has nice. They have a lot of specialty drinks, tons of pastry items as well. The food does take a little while to get. Highly recommend the avocado toast.

I had Better Buzz door dashed to work, and I was not disappointed! I do think that in general, Better Buzz might be a little more expensive than other coffee places. HOWEVER, the few times I've gone-they never ever miss on my drinks. What I mean by that is, I take one look at the color of the coffee and I know it's perfect. Whereas at other coffee places, I take a look at the drink and I know that they added too much creamer or not enough, just by looking at it and Better Buzz is very consistent, 100% in fact. So because of this, I'm willing to come here and spend a lil extra. Price aside, the drinks are always very very good. My favorite is the hazelnut divinity, it tastes like the milk leftover in your bowl of Honey Nut Cheerios. It's so so so good! I also ordered a prickly pear lemonade and that was really good, too! Highly recommend!!

This place has been my go to during my trip here in La Jolla. They are conveniently located by my hotel. The staff is super friendly and the ambience is really bright and lit. They offer many different choices such as a blackberry cheese, danish, scones, and cinnamon rolls. Love coming here I'm going to miss it when I have to head back home to another state where we don't have this.

We stopped here while exploring La Jolla. The prices were comparable to coffee places in the Midwest but the menu was so fun and I wanted to try everything! I went with a drink off their spring menu, the banana pudding best drink ever and it was so good! Just enough banana flavor to not make it overwhelming. I also got the better breakfast sandwich. It was so good. The arugula added such a fresh crisp and the pretzel bun was a unique touch I wouldn't have thought of. Despite it being busy the service was quick and everything was made fresh instead of being heated up in a microwave! Wish we had a few locations in MN!

Ordered the delicious banana pudding best drink ever and best drink ever is an understatement. Such a rich decadent banana pudding classic! Also, such polite staff! Rob was excellent! Lastly, the atmosphere of the restaurant is extremely inviting with perfect BUZZZZZ decor! Would definitely come back!

Love this location located on Prospect St in La Jolla. This space has a very open concept and super close to the cove if you want to walk with your coffee. There was plenty of seating inside and outside and the staff was adequate. The Banana Pudding Best Drink Ever was delicious, but is definitely on the sweeter side. Cool spot!

Walked to Better Buzz with my husband from where we were staying in La Jolla since he used to come here. He ended up getting the breakfast biscuit and coconut buzz while I got the bacon ciabatta. Coconut Buzz - Actually pretty good, it was a little too sweet for my taste, but I liked the coconut flavor to it. Wished the ice were a little smoother since it all clumped together in the middle. Bacon Ciabatta - For $10, I could have gotten something a lot better. It was pretty bland and didn't have much in it. The spicy aioli sounded a lot better than it actually was. Honestly, I would probably go to Starbucks instead of Better Buzz. It wasn't a terrible experience, but it was nothing amazing either.

Matcha latte 5/5 - I love their matcha here! I wish I got light ice though bc it got watered down at the end but the quality of matcha is good. Not to sweet and I got regular sugar. All of their coffee shops are so cute and the decor is really nice. I wish they had more seating though. Parking was pretty easy to find. read more

Love coming to this Better Buzz location for the proximity to the beach and the awesome open concept shop. Parking can be difficult to find (depending on the time of day), but it's worth it for sure. The shop is open concept as I mentioned, with plenty of seating inside and on the patio. Great aesthetic here that makes it unique to other Better Buzz spots. The staff here is really friendly and helpful if you have any questions. We order something different each time we stop by. This time around we got the Best Drink Ever soft serve in a cone and a Best Drink Ever cold brew float. The soft serve had a great consistency and flavor. The cone was the perfect sweet treat, and the cold brew float was awesome as the soft serve melted, making the drink extra creamy. Great spot in La Jolla that's perfect to visit and grab something before heading down towards the water. read more

So loved the dirty chai latte with the two pumps of vanilla. Tried three pumps and it was so sweet. We are staying around the corner at Inn by the sea and we've visited twice during our weekend stay. My friends both are drinking flat whites and the first day we had pastries, a ham and cheese croissant and an almond croissant. Both were lip smacking good. The service at this place is upbeat and definitely adds to the vibe. You can sit outside and smell the ocean. Definitely worth visiting if you are staying in this area. The are fast so it can be in and out. read more

We're visiting San Diego and there are hundreds of coffee places here. We have had Better Buzz shamelessly three mornings in a row. The first location was a very janky vibe but the coffee was spectacular so we looked for the location on Prospect. AMAZING! Such a neat spot and FAST. This place definitely attracts people of all kinds but especially a younger crowd with the upbeat, hip-hop, music and aesthetic ambience. Staff is friendly and they seem to keep a tidy space. I decided to try the new menu item, Waffle Bites, after seeing the sign--it looked delicious. However, it took over 20 minutes and still didn't come out. Eventually, I had to ask about it, and they told me someone must have taken it by mistake. It finally arrived exactly 31 minutes after I placed my order, but the person handing it to me didn't even offer an apology. After such a long wait, this is what the Waffle Bites looked like. Took some friends from NY. They loved the aesthetic of the shop. Very pretty decor that felt modern and somewhat homey at the same time. Staff was nice and service was fast even though it was busy with a lot of people ordering and sitting in the cafe. Good cafe for people to sit and do work on laptops. Peaceful and you can smell the ocean so close to us. Great location in the main strip of shops in La Jolla. Picked up coffees to walk around and look at tide pools and seals. Coffee was more affordable than expected for La Jolla. Coffee flavor was strong which was great. Vanilla caramel latte was more caramel than vanilla with caramel drizzle on the bottom and sides of the cup. It looked very pretty but I wouldn't mix all of the caramel in if you don't like your coffee sweet. Hot cappuccino was also good. Signature drink on menu was great and flavorful too. read more

The Better Breakfast sandwich-My husband orders this all the time but I've never tried it. That's unfortunate bc I finally ordered it and was amazed at all the flavor! The aioli and cheese made this a great choice with my Mexican mocha. Never disappointed by this place. It remains a favorite with friendly (not overly but at least they're not snotty) cashiers. I'm old so I always assume I'm going to be treated like crap but surprisingly not here! Avocado toast is great, some kind of mint coffee was tasty and refreshing! read more

This place is totally worth the hype. The coffee here is so tasty and the aesthetic is perfect. It was a hot day and after walking around for majority of the day, I was craving a smoothie. I saw that the Pink Dragon smoothie on the menu and knew I had to get it. My friends ordered the Best Drink Ever, and for all you coffee lovers, that seriously might be in my top 3 iced coffees of all time. I had a sip and it had a strong but satisfying coffee flavor with notes of vanilla. As for the smoothie, it was very refreshing. Everything about it tasted natural and fresh. However, the food here was painfully mediocre. The panino alle verde was listed on the menu as a tomato and eggplant sandwich with mozzarella and basil. However, it was actually a tomato paste (no actual pieces of tomato found) with small pieces of eggplant sprinkled on top sandwich with a big, cold clump of mozzarella. It was okay taste-wise but charging $15 for such a simple and lackluster sandwich (that one could easily make at home) is insane to me even for San Diego pricing. The vanilla crossiant was so soggy that even the ends were soggy. There was no crunch, no crumbly flakes, just a sad, dense pastry with custard in the middle. The only saving grace of this croissant was the vanilla custard which was creamy, not too sweet, and had a nice vanilla flavor (you could see the vanilla bean specks). However, the custard did not make this croissant worth eating and the only part of the croissant I ate was the custard filling. While I was eating my food, I was surprised at how crowded this place was considering I found the food to be very mediocre. There was a constant line and everyone seemed to be ordering the croissants. I'm not sure if these people were just tourists or regulars whose only reference for baked goods and sandwiches were subway or 7-eleven, but I know that there are tons of better bakeries in San Diego. Even freaking Costco has way better pastries and sandwiches than this place and will not charge you $25 for one small sandwich and one soggy croissant. Note: I found out about this place because I asked A.I. to find "hidden gems" in San Diego. This is what I get for trusting A.I.

It's cozy and unique that makes it the perfect study spot! There's plenty of seating, and it's conveniently located near a bus stop, which makes it easy to get to. I'm not totally sure about outlet availability, but it's still a great place to settle in and get some work done. To note, the coffee itself is just okay, and unfortunately the almond croissant wasn't very good when I tried it. That said, the atmosphere is really what makes this place worth visiting. The staff is also pretty nice and welcoming. Overall, come for the great study spot more than the food or coffee.

The bathroom is beautifully and nicely decorated but they are super strict about using the bathroom even if you are a customer as they had a bathroom (there is a key you have to ask for) "wanted bandit sign"apparently for vandalizing it....which I understand however When another member of our party came, we went inside and the line was so long we decided to use the bathroom before ordering more, we were in there less than 5 minutes and the owner/manager knocked and knocked, I came out and apologized and asked if she knocked. She did apologize but said other people are waiting. I ordered another juice and was going to order sandwiches and acai bowls but felt like we probably were at cafe more than an hour and out stayed our stay. I understand as a business you have to be strict about the bathroom and that is their policy however if it is a juice/coffee place your customers are bound to use the restroom several times especially if they are continuing to order. Unfortunately, It did turn me away to try the food which I actually was looking forward to as they did offer organic croissant sandwiches. We decided to just choose another place to order food. I'll have to think about returning as we are always in La Jolla for yoga.

My parents would often bring back a jar of Ube from some monastery in the Philippines. Plain Ube is pretty tasty in itself. It's funny and good to see it in different forms now. My next favorite might be Ube ice cream, and then an Ube cheesecake I had. These Ube pancakes were good, but maybe a little too sweet with the amount of syrup they put on it. If you've ever had an Ube donut, it kind of tasted like that with some syrup on top. Would I get it again? Yes, but maybe a healthy dollop of whip cream instead.

I ordered a sugar-free latte and avocado toast with an egg on top for added protein. Guess what, my food arrived in five minutes. Shannon, the manager brought it to me. I was so impressed how fast the service was and the friendliness here being so busy! She runs this place so professionally and efficiently. She is super friendly also! The rest of the staff the cashier, waitresses and waiters were also accommodating, friendly, and helpful too! Shoutout and Kudos to the chefs who create such deliciousness with the food. And, kudos to the baristas also who make such flavorful drinks. You all ROCK! The avocado toast with egg was incredible! So artistic with the presentation and the flavor was pit of this world DIVINE! I absolutely love Better Buzz Coffee Shop in La Jolla! This place is my go-to spot for a delicious cup of coffee every morning. The team here is amazing - they always have my drink ready in an expedited fashion, and they are so friendly and helpful. Not only is the service top-notch, but the coffee itself is incredible. Each cup is well-crafted and bursting with flavor. I can tell that the baristas here really take pride in their work and strive to make every customer happy. Liz, my barista, was so awesome; she was the one who helped my friend and me when we came. The environment here is so relaxing and fun. They have a good amount of seating, and it's an open area, so everything's open to the beautiful weather of sunny San Diego while also offering roof coverage and outdoor areas. The line to order is always long and I know that's not their fault but it's ridiculous. There's only one person making drinks while the manager just sits in the corner and does nothing to help them. Not just that but she's very rude and dismissive to the baristas. I have heard about Better Buzz so I decided to try it, ordered a iced white mocha coffee, good amount of caffeine and was quite tasty. When in the mood for a coffee and nearby will definitely try out Better buzz again. read more
