Better Buzz is one of those novelty coffee places that you have to try. Originally from San Diego it was nice to see one now at Laguna Hills. I also get their classic vanilla ice coffee and ask for it not too sweet. Like Dutch Bros I do find Better Buzz Coffee to be on the sweeter side. So if your preference is for sweet flavorful coffee this is the place to be! You will still get your caffeine kick! I did the drive through and service was really fast and easy. I have been to this coffee shop several times since they opened but unfortunately they do not live to the hype. I was so excited when they opened this store in OC but after visiting them more than 5 times and messing up my order half the time, it gets really annoying. The plus is that they open early and close late. Another plus is that they have a drive-thru. The negative is that the employees have not been trained well. They mess up the orders alot. I have been given the wrong drink 3 times. It sucks because when you are going through the drive thru and leave right after, there is not really a way to have them remake it. In my last visit, I was right up given somebody else' pastry. The sticker even had their name on it. Again, when at the drive thru, you just get the stuff and drive off. As much as I love coffee, the manager of this place needs to train the employees better! read more

I'm honestly surprised this place has as many good reviews as it does. Their coffee is terrible, their matcha is terrible, their sandwiches are terrible, and their service is beyond nonexistent. I've come here a few times & not once have I enjoyed it. I hate to sound like a karen but this place has just disappointed me so much lol. The baristas aren't really nice which is crazy when you work in hospitality. They seem so miserable here. And every time I try to give it another chance, I'm so disappointed. I won't be back here. Gave the iced coffee drinks a try. Last time I got a hot mocha de Mexico coffee that tasted burnt. So I tried an iced Mocha Buzz and it was pretty good. Not as coffee tasting as I would like but was good. Staff was nice and service was really fast this morning. I noticed that they opened up an OC location and I thought I would go check it out since I usually go here when I'm in SD. The place has ample outdoor seating and I love how they have a drive thru here. I ordered an iced horchata latte and an iced caramel vanilla latte. Iced Horchata Latte: Unfortunately it didn't reach my expectations. The taste of the horchata is extremely light and I felt as though my drink was watered down from the first initial sips. I think it should be a little sweeter and some more cinnamon should be added to get the full horchata experience. I did add a little bit of the iced caramel vanilla latte into this drink and it ended up being the perfect sweetness afterwards. Iced Caramel Vanilla Latte: Definitely the better drink, but regular sweetness is way too sweet. Would adjust the sweetness to about half the next time I get this drink. In terms of service, the drinks came pretty quick! Overall, I think I would get an iced caramel vanilla latte the next time I'm here, but this place wouldn't be my go-to for a coffee run. read more

I'm in LOVE! I've been hoping for more cafes with drive thrus and I'm so glad Better Buzz Coffee decided to have a location in Orange County! This location has plenty of parking, restroom is in the back and is clean! When I walked in, I immediately felt the fun vibes and the ambiance was bright and fun and mood changing! Customer service had great vibes, super patient! There is so much to their menu and, of course, I wanted to try it all! I ordered the Coconut Buzz blended iced coffee and the chocolate chip cookie, both hit the spot and were so delicious! The cafe itself has 1 table inside with some seats and outdoor seating. I would definitely recommend. I'll have to try the drive thru experience soon! read more

I can only speak about my mobile order and pickup experience (since I took my drink to go) but it was wonderful!! I downloaded the app knowing I wanted to place an order, and also being weary of the possibility of it being crowded since this location just opened. Once I placed my order in the app, it said my drink would be ready within 5 mins. To my surprise, I got a notification that it was ready in 3 mins, WOW!! I pulled up into the drive thru thinking I could pick up my mobile order there, but unfortunately they want you to park and walk to the counter for all online orders. That's the only bummer. After picking up my first mobile order, I got another notification that I get a free drink for placing my first mobile order!! I love the app, and you should definitely use it too. HEALTH HAZARD WARNING! While I was waiting in line to order, I noticed at least 5 fruit flies inside the pastry case. The fact that this café is openly selling pastries from such an unsanitary display is a clear reflection of their overall lack of cleanliness and food safety standards. Despite this, I stayed to spend time with friends and ordered a drink. Acai Smoothie: 2/5 I ordered an acai smoothie and substituted bananas for extra berries. The smoothie comes in only one size, and for a small cup I paid nearly $9 -- extremely overpriced. The final product was very watery and lacked body. Not worth it at all. Service: 1/5 The employee taking my order was simultaneously handling both drive-thru and in-store customers. This led to constant interruptions and delays as I was trying to ask questions or complete my order. The lack of organization in their service flow made for a frustrating experience. Ambiance: 1/5 The interior is very small, with only one table and a few outdoor seating options. Several of the outdoor tables and chairs needed to be wiped down. While the decor was decent, the glass-enclosed workstations were visibly messy, which further reflected poor attention to cleanliness -- especially concerning after seeing fruit flies in the pastry display. Overall: FRUIT FLIES in the pastry case. Dirty workstations. Poor service. Cleanliness is clearly not a priority at this establishment. I would not recommend eating or drinking here based on what I observed. read more

Although I've always enjoyed your coffee and breakfast I had not been inspired to write a review until today, when I tried your Sweet Heat Waffle Sandwich (attached photo). It's easily the best thing I've ever ordered from your shop. I had to stop eating after a couple bites just to savor and enjoy this masterpiece creation! Whoever came up with this sandwich deserves some kind of an award! the powdered sugar waffle with sausage and egg is a dynamite combo of flavors, delicioso! I implore you to make this item a staple to the menu rather than a seasonal limited time offering. This place has the worst customer service. I heard so many great things about it and came here to grab a coffee for my boyfriend. I even told them that it was my first time and I apologize as there was no one else behind me in line at the drive-through. She said no problem. I was on the phone with my boyfriend taking his order and they already started making our food before I even confirm the order and then they got mad at me for not wanting my first choice sandwich after going down their menu and deciding another sandwich was a better fit. I don't care if you already made it. I didn't even confirm with you. I wanted that sandwich or even paid for it yet so what you're not gonna do is obligate me to purchase something that you already made before I even paid for it. I understand if I was in a restaurant and I pay at the end, but I didn't even complete my order yet so you can't sit here and force me to purchase something that I don't want. And then when I got to the window. The lady was shaking her head telling the girl on the headset that helped me at the drive-through that I was "frustrating." well maybe they shouldn't offer food services that require more effort in a drive-through situation as so if they're gonna get frustrated at their customers.
