Better Buzz Coffee was exactly the pick-me-up I needed while walking through the mall, and wow did they deliver. The stand was busy, but the staff never felt rushed or flustered. Instead, they calmly let me know they'd be right with me and even cracked a few jokes while keeping the line moving. That kind of energy goes a long way. The young lady at the counter was awesome. It was my first time here, and without hesitation she gave me great recommendations with total confidence. No pressure, no attitude--just genuine, effortless hospitality. And the drink? Absolutely amazing. It hit exactly how it needed to. First visit, great impression, and definitely not my last.

Better Buzz Coffee is my Favorite Coffee Shop! Fashion Valley was the first location that made me a fan. My coffee requests are always made to perfection. My favorite drinks are "Killer Bee" and "Best Drink Ever". I typically go there to get my own coffee, but I decided to get it through UberEats and I was happy to see what I requested was made perfectly.

Great location! It's perfect to take a shopping break and grab a coffee and pastry. There's a cute outdoor area to sit and enjoy your drinks. There's no indoor area like the other locations have! Good coffee, but not the best in San Diego.

Cute little location , busy just as any other location. I enjoy being able to place my order on line . My coffee and muffin were ready upon arrival . I wasn't sure where the pick up station was , may need better labeling as I stood around for a bit looking around. Stopped by in the middle of the afternoon on a Monday. When I've passed this location before always had a long line. No line today. Don't really frequent Better Buzz although I've tried them before and enjoyed each drink. Ordered an iced blended mocha. Ruby took care of me at the counter. Super quick and efficient. This coffee spot came highly recommended, and the line that was 10-15 people deep confirmed that it was worth a try The menu offers a wide variety of classic coffee options with a Better Buzz twist. There are many seasonal and flavored drinks, you can choose hot vs cold on most drink options, and there are various drink sizes. You can also add additional shots of espresso I tried the coconut flavored Best Drink Ever and the Hazelnut Divinity. Neither were incredibly sweet, which I appreciate. I'm not a huge hazelnut fun, but the taste was subtle and enjoyable The storefront is trendy and modern, and it was very busy, but the counter and area was a little messy. It took several minutes or more to get our drink order, and that appeared to be par for the course. I also saw that a couple drinks orders didn't have their lids firmly put on Some tips: Obviously, this location is in a high-end shopping mall. So, enjoy your drink as you pursue the shops. Today I saw a new face at the Fashion Valley location, what a great addition to the team. Friendly and attentive was this young man. He was new but seemed to have barista background but the customer service is what was on point. Cute space at the mall. Service was good, definitely was a wait for the drinks but nothing too crazy. I ordered an iced snickerdoodle latte and it was heaven in a cup! The flavor was totally there, not too sweet and not too bitter. I can't wait to try their other drinks.

Better Buzz is pretty good! So good I wished they had more locations. When I looked it up, I saw Hillcrest, Pacific Beach (PB), Mission Gorge, and Mission Valley (MV) were close to me. The closest to my home is the MV location, and that one literally located inside Fashion Valley Mall. I have visited at least a handful of times, and taste-wise they are consistent with how they make their drinks. I really enjoy their Coconut Buzz... and that's saying a lot because I'm not a huge coconut fan. Something about the flavor profile just makes it work and it tastes really good! I actually find myself craving it every so often. Let me just say, if you are coming here during peak hours (like on a busy weekend) then parking is going to be a hassle and there will likely be a very long line. To bypass the line, is recommend ordering online and once you park and walk up, your coffee will probably be ready. I have come here on a weekend and have seen probably 30+ people in line! I walked up, saw the line from a good distance (stretching near the escalator) and I was like, "Nope." I turned around and came back another time. Ordering online is a good way to bypass the line. If I know I'm heading there, I order online, park, walk up, and my drink is ready when I get to the counter. I'm going to try one of their more popular drinks called, "Best Drink Ever" (BDE). To call it BDE, it's gotta be good, right? It's the mall and parking can get crazy. I usually find parking near the west side of the shopping center near JC Penny either in the structure or south near the escape room business. There are places nearby to sit and overall it tends to be clean. Or you can walk upstairs to the tables near the food court. Another option would be to walk around the mall and enjoy your coffee. This was the newer location in the food court plaza that took over the Starbucks. This location seemed a lot less busy and the service seemed faster than the main one on the first floor. I got the Best Drink Ever with half sweetness. I like that I can get less sweet now but I didn't really taste the coffee as much. It tasted like slightly sweet water and milk unfortunately. I wish the coffee flavor was a bit stronger but it does the trick when I just need some caffeine. Better Buzz is also the main coffee shop in this shopping center so it'll have to do. Maybe I'll try out a matcha next time.

Such a cute little walk up cafe, the literal bees made it stressful but the baristas were super sweet and apologetic about it. I ordered the banana matcha and banana chocolate loaf and that loaf is the best thing ever! Will definitely be back but hoping the bees are gone when I do.

I was looking for something refreshing to keep me cool and found myself at the line in fashion valley. Always love people watching here. This place is always buzzing (hahahaha see what I did there) fast and friendly even with a long line. Got my coconut buzz with coconut milk and lemme tell you it's like a liquid mounds bar. Now if only that parking lot wasn't so packed. I would have uploaded a pic but I drank it too fast. ‍ read more

Slow Service. Took 15+ minutes to scoop Acai into a bowl and add fruit to it. Literally served up several drinks that require much more time and effort than taking care of my order and were placed after me. Rude when I politely asked when my order would be ready. We tried one of their newest flavors which was the blueberry pancake cold foam cold brew and it was really good! We didn't know if blueberry would work well with coffee but it honestly did! It tasted like a sweeter coffee if you're into that when mixed together. The service is always great and the drinks come out super fast. read more

The only downside to this Better Buzz is the hours - they open a little later than stand alone locations to cater to the mall employees and patrons. The drinks are standard for Better Buzz and are as tasty as any location. The line can get pretty long pretty quickly, so if able ordering online is helpful! There are a few tables outside to sit at, but it definitely feels like the purpose is to provide caffeine to energize shopping sprees. read more

I stopped by Better Buzz and decided to try the Strawberry Rose Matcha and WOW. I did not expect to love it as much as I did. It's perfectly balanced slightly sweet, floral in the best way (not overpowering at all), and the matcha flavor still shines through. It's refreshing, smooth, and honestly feels like spring in a cup. And can we talk about Lina?! She has the BEST hospitality. From the second I walked in, she made me feel genuinely welcomed. Not just polite but intentional, warm, and truly happy to be there. You can tell she cares about the experience just as much as the drinks. She checked in, made recommendations, and created such a positive vibe. Amazing drink + exceptional hospitality = 10/10 experience. I'll absolutely be back for another Strawberry Rose Matcha (and to see Lina, obviously). read more

I've been to several Better Buzz locations, and the downstairs Fashion Valley spot is definitely one of the most convenient. The line moves pretty quick which is great. Im in love with their seasonal menu right now especially the candy cane best drink ever! It's in a great area to grab something before shopping. I stopped by Fashion Valley during my short travels in San Diego. I needed a refreshing & cold drink while looking around this spacious, high end outdoor mall. I almost went to Nordstrom Ebar (since I'm familiar), but instead decided to check out Better Buzz Coffee since there are none in Bay Area PLUS it was busy (always a good sign). I asked the helpful barista who took my order and asked for her recommendation (telling her it was my first try). I went with the Best Drink Ever and was very satisfied with my cold drink! Loved it! I would definitely try this place again in a future visit to SD.....I see quite a few locations listed on their website. read more

Line was long, food was mid. They spilled a drink on someone and just forgot about our order, then lied that someone stole it. Then they asked us what we ordered. Why lie? While we were waiting, we were surrounded by bees, which was an awesome touch. I've worked quick service before, it's really not that difficult, and you're getting paid over 20 an hour. We stopped at Better Buzz coffee to boast our energy since we had to go around every single corner in Fashion Valley Mall. There are a lot of construction in the Mall in general, but also close to Better Buzz coffee We ordered: -Caramel ice coffee 2.5/5 The drink was very sweet, I tasted the caramel but I didn't feel the taste of coffee at all. -Ube cookie 5/5 Was chewy and very tasty -Raspberry Almond scone. 5/5 - Blueberry Scone 5/5 The scones are one of the BEST! Various locations in SD but we tried the one in the Fashion Valley mall. Er had to see what the hype was. Interesting enough we got the drinks among us and only the owner of each drink liked their own. Personally I got the iced matcha latte with oat milk and lavender instead of vanilla and it was great. It came recommended from my sister. My daughter got the pumpkin chai and loved it but I thought it was too sweet. The hubby got the Moroccan Spice Iced Coffee and he loved it. read more

One star for the drinks and the vanilla powder, lack of 4 stars for the POOR customer service! I have been frequenting Better Buzz for the past two years, and have always enjoyed not only the coffee but the pleasant staff that manned the kiosk. There has been a recent change of employees and unfortunately I have yet to have a positive experience there. During one of my last visits there, I placed an order for my drink. There was only 1 person in front of me, but after completing my order, I made my way towards the back. There must have been 10 unfufilled orders in front of mine. I waited patiently, but couldn't help to notice the lack of urgency to make drinks. One girl left the kiosk to go throw the trash out, the other was checking her phone in between managing the cash register and making drink orders, and to make it worse a couple friends came by and she started chatting it up with them. My drink has been made incorrectly multiple times and given to the wrong customer a couple of times. I can't tell you how many times my friends and I have had to take the drinks back to be remade. We love Better Buzz' recipes, their drink options and the family feel, but please bring in a group of employees that are happy to be working there and friendly to their customers! read more

I am a regular here at Better Buzz Fashion Valley and every time I go, I have the most wonderful experience. Not only is the coffee to die for, the staff that work there are what truly make my experience special. The last time I went, my experience was just so good that I had to come write a review about it. There were 3 people specifically who I asked the names of so I could give them the recognition they deserve. Firstly, I was greeted by this young lady, Sarah, who was just the nicest person there. Turns out she runs this shop, was working just as hard as the rest of her employees, and just had this energy that was unmatched. Secondly there was Anika (sorry if I spelled that wrong) and Cece (again sorry) who not only got my order ready in such a fast manner, but held a conversation with me as I waited for my order. They didn't know it at the time, but just them talking to me and asking how my day went, helped me more than they knew. Next time you go to Better Buzz in Fashion Valley, look out for them because they are what makes this place so fantastic and so enjoyable. These are the employees that places need!! read more

Ahh, I like me some Better Buzz. This one is a walk up in Fashion Valley, perfect for a pit stop while shopping all the bougie shops and fashion houses. Just dropped $300 on a pair of shoes, what's another $5 for a cup of joe, right? I hardly ever go out of my way for drinks but the Lavender Tea Latte is nothing short of amazing. Even though it's almost November, you can't go wrong with one because it stays hot in San Diego for what seems like forever. A Lavender Tea is my preferable method of staying cool and refreshed. I'm not much of a coffee drinker, but most of the ones I know swear by Better Buzz all the live long day. Be prepared to wait minutes in line during peak shopping times as it tends to get crowded. The girls that work here always take way too long. Every time I order I get a simple black coffee iced, and while I understand that there are customers before me that they have to serve, I'm baffled at how long they take when there is a large crowd waiting for all their orders at the back of the kiosk. Last time I checked it didn't take over 10 minutes to pour black coffee on ice. They act so leisurely even with a dozen people standing around waiting for their coffee. There has been one coffee sent out in past six minutes with three girls working. At any other coffee place you'd see employees acknowledging a rush and appropriately managing any chaos. My experience was poor enough for me to make a yelp account. I visited this location next to urban outfitters the other day and it was disappointing. My girlfriend had ordered ahead and we still waited 30 minutes just for two drinks. Once I received the drinks they were lacking in flavor and tasted bitter, almost like the espresso had gone bad. I am not sure if their product was expired or the drink was made incorrectly. I wanted to try to talk to someone about this but I observed the manager, Sara? I live in PB and always go to the locations there so when I found out there was one at fashion valley I was craving it. I came in on my break in the afternoon yesterday for a quick snack and latte, they don't have a full kitchen so they only have pastries which was fine for me. My last review of this place was about a phenomenal experience but I was recently back at BB Fashion Valley and there is a male employee who is on the bigger side who was COUGHING loudly and horrendously and I saw him cough INTO the pastry case! This has to be a health code violation and I want to see some immediate action taken on the safety of the other employees and the customers. My visit to BetterBuzz was disappointing; the service was incredibly slow and undoubtedly the worst I've encountered. They even had to make my drink twice to get it right. The lack of professionalism and poor customer service left much to be desired. I suggest choosing Starbucks instead for a more efficient and pleasant experience. read more
