Nice little coffee shop centered in Fashion Valley. Offering a variety of drinks and some other tasty treats. The line is always full but it's worth the wait. The menu is full of specialty drinks and there is definitely a flavor for everyone. The staff is prompt with service but lacking in conversation. They take your order and move on without a smile. It also has a bunch of construction around it so it's kind of hidden in the mall. There is no seating so be prepared to juggle everything while standing or walking. But because it's located in Fashion Valley and away from all the crowds, I would give Better Buzz a little more credit. If you're looking for that caffeine boost and do not want to wait in the long lines at the Starbucks upstairs, then Buzz is the place to be. If you've been to the Starbucks in Fashion Valley, then you know how much of a ruckus it is. It's small, service is hit or miss, and it takes forever to get your coffee. At Buzz, you can get your cup of Joe quicker, cheaper, and from employees that seem to care just a little bit more. My choice of caffeine is usually an iced or hot Americano. Not a tough one for anyone to make, so this review is simply about the service, efficiency, and price. Better Buzz beats Fashion Valley's SB on all three. Not a big fan of going to the mall especially in the early afternoon. As well as going and not getting anything myself. I needed caffeine stat. Not a big fan of Starbucks upstairs at the food court. The long slow line near the tables is a bummer. I rather not do that. Ever. Enter Better Buzz Coffee. Located on the lower floor near Godiva chocolates and Footlocker. It's a bigger kiosk and runs just like a full on coffee stand. Pastries and a large menu of caffeinated drinks. I was so happy to have another option instead of Starbucks. The line moved quickly and our drinks came out in no time even though there was a steady line. Getting a regular coffee. I was handed a cup and helped myself to oversized thermoses with my choice of different coffees. I went with an Colombian roast that tasted great and got my engine going. I was on a mission to find this place! I woke up early Saturday and decided to hit the mall before the other stores opened. I got perfect parking and took a quick stroll down to the Better Buzz Coffee stand. I think the only people at the mall that early on Saturday (around 8:30am) are there for this coffee, and it makes sense as to why. I had my eye on trying this for a while, but I didn't know what to get. I thought about getting the best drink ever, but the lady working there told me it was made with milk powder (couldn't be completely non-dairy) so I opted for their iced Horchata Latte with Almond Milk and a blueberry banana bread. The coffee was delicious and VERY strong, but in a good way. I drink coffee maybe 2x a week so it might not be strong for other people. But honestly, that blueberry banana bread is what's been on my mind. It was soooo good, really fresh tasting and I'm so glad I ordered it. Located in a kiosk on the ground floor of the Fashion Valley mall, right in between Urban Outfitters and Pink. I had to scroll through reviews on Yelp to find it, since I'm not from SD and the location isn't listed on the mall directory, so thanks Yelp!! The line was fairly long, considering it was around 5pm on a Saturday, so I'd hate to imagine what it looks like in the morning, when people reaaaally need their coffee fix. Don't be discouraged though, it moves pretty quickly! I got the regular sized iced hazelnut divinity, since it was praised so highly by Yelpers. It was a little on the sweeter side for my personal taste, but not overbearingly sweet. Tasted a little more like a satisfying dessert than an iced coffee. My brother got the mocha buzz, an ice blended drink which was just eh in my opinion. He definitely liked my drink better than his, so I think sticking to their iced drinks rather than their ice blended drinks is the way to go here. There is absolutely nobody in line and I've been standing around for 10 minutes and the employees are having a great time talking to each other and all but I wish they would prioritize their customers first. She just called my name, put my drink down and walked away. She went back to talking to her coworkers. Even Starbucks would have handed me my drink with at least a smile. "Best drink ever" caught my attention under the iced coffee section. I figured with a name like that, I had to see. The kiosk and the ladies working at better buzz were very busy and it I waited quite a while for my iced coffee. Everytime I walk by Better Buzz, i smell the coffee aroma; it always smells so good. So finally i decided to try it with my friend. I saw that they have a Mint Mojito Iced Coffee and immediately I got excited because i love the one from Philz in SF so I was hoping it tastes the same. Of course it is not the same; the mint is there, the coffee is kind of lacking. It would have been better if they have another shot of espresso or something that makes the coffee flavor stronger. Philz is definitely still better. I also tried their "Best Drink Ever" (basically it's an americano mixed with vanilla powder) -- yes it tastes good but only because it is so sweet. 1st time enjoying this coffee destiny and I'm definitely not disappointed. I ordered the large vanilla bean latte with an extra shot $.90 (of course an extra shot) $5.55. ($1.00 extra for syrup) Superb. The extra espresso shot certainly did not overpower the vibrant, flavorful vanilla bean. The drink was rich, rich yet settle not overly sweet either. Perhaps my new vanilla latte. Starbucks has nothing on this. The perfect afternoon treat. We purchased the banana bread as well. Thick Sliced moist, savory banana loaf.. Unfortunately my blueberry banana was old and not fresh, it was molded( it was later exchange for a new piece). My new go to coffee cafe next time I'm shopping at fashion valley mall. Probably the best coffee I have ever tasted. I was introduced to better buzz back in my Freshman year of college when we conveniently had a better buzz location next to campus at Cal State San Marcos. But better buzz in general is just amazing. It literally gives you the caffeine you need to start your day and does keep you awake for majority of the day. Compared to starbucks, coffee bean, etc this differs so greatly because I can actually taste the coffee in all their handcrafted drinks. For other places I feel like I have to order an extra shot in my drink just because I feel like I can't taste the coffee or its not strong enough for me. But at better buzz from whatever drink I purchase I can feel the caffeine rushing through me. I totally recommend their best drink ever, hazelnut divinity, and their white chocolate mocha buzz to try. Those are all my favorites and i'm pretty sure other people's favorites too. I'm glad there is one in fashion valley because it gives me a reason to go to fashion valley and not to just window shop but to stop and get some better buzz coffee before I leave. Today was my first time trying a drink from Better Buzz. Ironically, I got a smoothie and not a caffeinated drink. Smoothie was of quality flavors and taste, but a little on the pricier side. I'm more into boba drinks, but I'm up to try the unique flavored drinks they have available here. Since it's a weekend the line was decently long. I believe my wait was about 10 minutes. This coffee shop was highly recommended to me by a friend. I haven't had the chance to go to the main shop, but I stumbled upon this place in Fashion Valley, so I had to try it for myself. I ordered none other than the BEST DRINK EVER. I mean the drink just be good for them to have the huevos to give such a name to a drink right? And the verdict? The drink was good! My best friend is a sucker for a blended mocha, and she's tried a ton of different ones at various locations. According to her, the MOCHA BUZZ is her FAVORITE thus far! They have the option for you to add espresso beans inside for an additional dollar. It's a semblance of the Java Chip Frapp at Starbucks BUT BETTER! The mocha buzz is good either way, but I personally prefer the original version without the beans. OH and the best drink ever is really THE BEST DRINK EVER! I've heard so much about this place, so I was surprised how small of a place it was. Almost missed it, but good thing there's a constant line outside! You wait a bit for the coffee, but it's definitely worth it for the simple Vanilla Latte. I normally don't go for a vanilla latte made with vanilla powder, but I'm making this the exception! Very sweet drink, but doesn't have that typical powdery taste. Also, unpopular opinion here, but I liked the drink even better after the ice had melted down a bit! I knocked the rating down a star because of my disappointment with their nitro iced coffee. Instead of a smooth, cold brew, I found it very sour and acidic. The aesthetic at Better Buzz is everything. This location is in Fashion Valley Mall so it provides the perfect stop for a pick-me-up drink while shopping. Because of the current pandemic, you cannot drink while walking through stores so if you place to get a cup of something, be sure to be stationary for a while. I don't drink coffee, but my friends tell me they enjoy the coffee drinks here. I come to this Better Buzz for the smoothies. The smoothies all have Red Bull but you can ask for them to not include it. The smoothies are consistent and meet expectations. The staff at this location are generally friendly but it does get busy and the line can take quite some time. Because the weather in San Diego is typically nice, it's not to taxing to stand waiting for a bit. If you're looking for a quick stop while shopping, Better Buzz may be the place for you. read more

I've only had it twice thus far and I'm a fan. if I had one nearby it would be my go to over Starbucks for coffee runs, deadass.
