This little shop is so yummy. I really enjoy drinking their matcha latte with soy milk. It's like drinking green tea dessert! Also you can ask them to add some coconut to give it a kick. Only down fall to this location is that it can get pretty busy and the lines do get long. But the workers here are always nice and friendly! read more

A cute little stand smacked in the middle of Fashion Valley Mall. The scent of coffee beans in the air lured me in. Their menu intrigued me with a drink of theirs called "The Best Coffee Ever" haha! My boyfriend actually ordered an Iced Best Coffee Ever and I ordered an Iced Chai Latte with a shot of espresso - and it was perfection! Both our drinks actually, were amazing! Terrible service. Why are we opening registers in the middle of a busy Friday? I wait in this mile long line to be told they would take my payment once they open the registers. Cool. Best drink wasn't so best this time around. I ordered my usual BDE and for some reason when I tasted it, it tasted different. We ordered two of the same coffees and mine totally tasted different. So I asked the girl if she can re make my coffee, first she asked me if it was just the vanilla powder lacking. I wasn't really sure what it was, all I know is that it didn't taste like my usual BDE. After she modified the drink, that's when I realized it was lacking the coffee flavor. So I asked her if she can remake the drink instead. But she didn't, she dropped another shot of espresso in the cup. I didn't wanna make a big deal out of it so I just gladly took the drink from her. If this was Starbucks, they would just remake the coffee no problem. I don't know why she insisted on modifying my drink when I told her I just wanted her to make me a new one since she screwed it up the first time. read more

I really like Better Buzz- it's sooo mcuh better than Starbucks! Their blended drinks are really flavorful and creamy. I tried to order a blended Mexican mocha, but the barista said it wouldn't come out right due to the consistency of the mix and recommended I order a mocha instead and have the girl making it put cinnamon in. I was intrigued when I saw the iced "best drink ever" on the menu here. The drink sounds simple enough: it's an iced Americano (espresso and water) whisked with some vanilla powder. There is no sugar added and apparently it's the lowest calorie beverage on the menu. I ordered one out of curiosity and keep in mind that I rarely have coffee because I don't like it. I was very pleasantly surprised when I took my first sip! The vanilla powder sweetens the coffee (but not too much) and takes away the bitterness. At the same time, you can still enjoy the coffee taste because there are no other ingredients added. I think I found my new (and only) favorite coffee place! I only wish there were more locations closer to where I live and work. read more

My only complaint about this location is that it seems a little understaffed sometimes; I came on a Monday morning when the mall was practically empty and I still had to wait almost 10 minutes in line. Better buzz coffee is good but not great. It's more of a fad than anything. There "best drink ever" is just espresso and vanilla and wasn't that special in my opinion. I'm kind of a coffee snob and this is just a coffee chain so I guess I can't be too hard on it. The locations that I've been to are very small and don't have room to sit in and the drive through line is always ridiculously long. I ordered the Honey Latte at the Fashion Valley location this past weekend as I was craving a caffeine fix. The service was pretty good as the baristas were friendly, however I was disappointed that when I specified for "light ice" I still got a quite a bit of ice in my drink. Overall the drink was OK, I wouldn't say it was not good, but it wasn't super memorable either. I would probably stop by this stand again in the mall for its convenience, but I wouldn't go out of my way to stop by a Better Buzz location since there are better coffee places in San Diego. read more

Either I ordered the wrong drink or Better Buzz is overhyped. Today was my first time trying Better Buzz. I've always heard rave reviews from my friends in the San Marcos/SD area, so i was really looking forward to trying it myself today. It was a fairly warm day so my boyfriend and I wanted something iced. I'm a fan of the mint mojito iced coffee from Philz Coffee, so when I saw that one of Better Buzz's specialties is, indeed, a mint mojito iced coffee, I knew I had to try it. MISTAKE. I watched them make the drink and it looked like half of it was green mint syrup, I really thought the drink was going to turn out green. My first sip was all syrup, way too sweet (and I love sweets, so that's saying something), and not as refreshing as I thought it would be. Once I stirred the ice more, the rest of the drink got colder and more drinkable, but still way too sweet for me to finish. I had to wait for the ice to melt and dilute the sugar. My boyfriend got "The Best Drink Ever" which is an Americano with, the barista said something like, vanilla powder melted into the coffee or something? His drink was still sweet but much better than the mint mojito. Next time, I'll definitely avoid any drink that requires an addition of sugar, and I'll have to try their regular coffee. Two stars because I could see the potential in "The Best Drink Ever." read more

Went here on a local friend's recommendation and I'm really glad I went. I had their Best Drink Ever (iced) and was really satisfied with my caffeine fix. The sweetness was just right and the coffee was smooth and not overly acidic. I could do with a little less milk, but that's just a personal preference of mine. Also, this is a little stand nestled in the middle of the outdoor mall right across from Victoria Secret's PINK, so it was a little difficult to find especially since they're not in the directory (Thank goodness for GPS). I used to work for a smoothie place and when we didn't make enough to fill the cup, we poured the drink back in the blender, added more ingredients and gave our customers their money's worth. read more
