Tried out new menu item the waffle bites. We're a lot smaller than expected and very sweet. Comes with either syrup, chocolate or Carmel sauce. Was too sweet with any of the sauces. I added just a little honey and enjoyed that the best. But after two pieces was done cause just too sweet. I won't be getting those again. My cold brew though was delicious! read more

Would not recommend went there for a drink and a sandwich and apparently if they mess up your order, it's an inconvenience to them to get the other half. I understand things missing, but I don't understand the reaction that I got. There are seven coffee shops within a 2 mile radius. Next time I'll go to another one. read more

If you expect your order to be complete and made correctly... AVOID THIS STORE! We've been coming to this store for the last year or so and our order has been incomplete or incorrect at least a dozen times. The only reason we keep coming back is bc the location is convenient to home/work The issues we've had all involve not getting what we paid for. Here are a couple examples: 1. Avocado Toast w/ Extra MicroGreens. Sometimes we don't get extra microgreens and sometimes we don't get ANY microgreens at all 2. Horchata Iced Latte w/ 1 extra shot and cinnamon cold cream and they don't add the cold cream Obviously it's frustrating to not get what you ordered, but the infuriating part is that the store management doesn't seem to care or want to do anything to correct it If they don't have microgreens, they'll still take your order, add the upcharge, then hand you toast with either no microgreens or substituted with arugula. At other food & drink places, someone would inform you that they couldn't make your order, apologize, and offer a partial refund or full refund. At this location it seems that the policy is just to hand the customer their order and hope that they don't notice I was told by one of the managers (Junior) that if they indicate that they don't have microgreens, then the app will take the Avocado Toast off the menu so it can't be ordered. It seems to me if you don't have all the ingredients to make an item, then that exactly what they should do. But instead they just want to take your money. We've even waited to order until we get to the store, ask for them to verify they have microgreens, are told they have them, only to get our order without them. They also don't have any way to refund money for their mistake. The best they can do is make an excuse and maybe a half hearted apology In terms of the coffee, they get the order wrong/incomplete much more often than they should. I'm not sure how they can take an order for a drink with only 2 modifications and it's handed to the customer with only one of them. After the mods, this is a $10 drink that I feel should be made correctly by a shop that specializes in coffee! It's unclear if this is an employee issue (they can't read the ticket or know how to make an order) or if they were out of the modification and, like the toast, are just going to hope that the customer doesn't notice Despite these issues, we've continued to return to this location in the hopes that our talks with the managers would bring about a change. But it's clear after our last order that things aren't getting better After bringing up to the manager (Junior) today and given only excuses, it's clear that they aren't interested in fixing these issues to improve the customer experience. So as I told him today, we won't be returning to this location and will likely stop giving our hard-earned money to this company read more

I'm not a coffee drinker, so this review is for their tea drinks only. First off, their service is great -- efficient but friendly. I take my drinks to go, so I haven't really had a chance to sit down in their space. But there are several tables, and it's pretty busy whenever I've been there in the morning. The parking lot is small with maybe 8-10 parking spots. They also have a drive through; the line can get pretty long but it moves quickly. As for the tea drinks, I've tried their chai, lavender tea, and matcha lattes. It's obviously that their tea drinks are all made from premade mixes, not freshly brewed. Not a fan (only kept going back because I had a gift card). If you're a tea drinker, Better Buzz is not for you. read more

Grew up with their first in PB. Love the one in LJ And FV. Not so much in Hillcrest cus I've never found parking but hell yes on this drive thru Kept it super simple w/iced vanilla bean latte & better breakfast. Damnit if that wasn't the best iced coffee I've ever had in my life then I don't know what is. I drank it so fast like it was saving my life The sandwich though It was OK & yes I'd order it again but I would tell them not to microwave the hell out of it because the top bun was so hard I couldn't bite down And the arugula was extra bitter but still yum Oh 1 more thing that blew my mind was when I ordered my freebie drink & got to the window I noticed the code was gone and while I was telling her she said "oh no your good I went ahead and redeemed it for you". Full honesty I'm between a two star and a three star here. I really couldn't decide. Better buzz in general has gone downhill in qualities since they opened so many locations. When it was just one shop, it was one of my absolute favorites. Now, if you like sugar coffee to where you can literally feel the sugar on your teeth, this is for you. I described this places for teenagers and tourists. More than once now I've gotten regular coffee when I've asked for decaf and full sweet when I've asked for half sweet. You can barely taste the coffee in their lattes. There's so much syrup. As for the baked goods, most of them are pretty dry. The specific location is not very quick turnaround for getting your drinks. Drink one of my last visits. I waited 20 minutes and was trying to be patient because I could see that they were busy, but realized everyone that was after me had gotten their drink and then they were annoyed by the fact that I was mentioning I hadn't gotten mine. Their cups are cute and their merch is cute and catchy, but if you love coffee like me, I honestly feel like Starbucks is better at this point. That's not saying a lot. read more

I am a huge fan of Better Buzz, and this location is just as good as the others! On this visit I got the iced sea salt toffee latte, which was delicious, and the caprese sandwich, which was huge and much more filling than I had thought it would be. The workers are friendly and there are a lot of people working at a time, so your order typically comes out quickly. This location is fairly small, although it is possible to get a table to do work during off-peak times. One tip: I'd highly recommend getting your drinks half sweet. Otherwise they are very very sugary! read more

Psure it's called Better Buzz, because this place is BUZZIN! I like stopping here on the way to the self serve car wash on mission gorge, and I nothin gets me more juiced up than a large killer bee with 2 add shots. Or if my sweet tooth's jiggling, I get me a blended vanilla chocolate buzz. Oh also, the food is something else, I expected airport food cart quality, and I got an upscale French bistro sandwhich, the sourdough got me sour for more! That pretzel bun also gets me hot and bothered, I'll be drooling for one of those before I even park or pull through the parking lot. New location!! I've tried better buzz before so this review is for the location. There was line out of the drive thru and a line when I walked in. But for how long the line was, my drink and food came out so fast! I was in and out of there. The staff were so friendly and energetic. Best drink ever: I try to stray away from dairy but I had to try a coffee called best drink ever. I did not expect an americano to taste this rich & creamy but it's thanks to the creamy vanilla. This drink was a 10/10 Avocado toast: nothing to rave over. Fair warning: If you dine in, it's very noisy inside of this Better Buzz location on Mission Gorge. Aside from loud music blaring, the baristas need to constantly be shouting out patrons' names and items over the noise. That being said, they did not have. Cortado on the menu, so I had to settle for the macchiato, which was okay. It offered a slight bitter aftertaste. Unfortunately, they don't offer dine in glass or porcelain cups as a dine in option. That's a bummer and a minus in my book. At the counter, I order the almond butter toast with jam on multigrain grain for dine in. They gave me jam toast on sourdough in a to go container. I had to exchange it for the correct item. They young lady at the register missed the boat on that one. She apparently rang up the wrong item and put it to go. In the end, the almond butter toast was tasty, but in the haste to get the correct toast out, they under toasted the multigrain toast. It was cold in the middle and was missing that good toasted crunch This place offers a drive thru and inside and outside seating. read more

I LOVE this place! Better Buzz Coffee was my daily ritual during my 4-day trip--I went every single day and was never disappointed. Every drink I tried was spot-on. The Mocha de Mexico - rich, chocolatey, with a little kick--so good. The Best Drink Ever is delicious. But my all-time favorite has to be the Snickerdoodle latte. Glad that this location is closer to home. Will definitely be visiting more often. Barista was super friendly and got my order correct. Down side the music is super loud and it took awhile to get my drink. But when I got my drink it was tasty. I got my normal drink Iced Vanilla latte. I was one the lucky ones to visit here on their Grand Opening Day. I was also lucky enough to get one of their free hats. The service here is awesome! Loved the decor inside and love that they have an outside seating area. It's a bit loud, so it's nice they have an option for you to sit outside. Let me just start off by saying I love better buzz and try to get it every time I'm in town for work or leisure but the last two times I've stoped by this location when I'm in town for work have been very disappointing!!! I first stopped by back in July and got the best drink ever which was very good. I also got the better breakfast sandwich and it was okay. The pretzel bread was hard. Just today I went back since I was in town for work and got the pumpkin best drink ever and it had no flavor at all! It barely tasted like pumpkin. It felt more like a vanilla latte. I also got the feta avocado toast and when I asked if they could add an egg they added a hard boiled egg and didn't ask me what kind of egg. The toast was not good at all. I ended throwing away more than half away. Again, I really do like better buzz but both times I spent $20. The first time was okay but the second time was not good at all :( read more

I love Better Buzz and was really excited that they opened one so close to my house. I had been wanting to come to this location and because I was running errands with my Pomeranian Kodiak, there was a queue which is typical but it goes by so quickly. I normally order through the app which is so convenient but today they had a person outside taking orders and they were so friendly to Kodiak. I ordered my iced matcha latte with brown sugar and Kodiak got a pup cup, they even took a photo of him, he was so excited to take photos and get his pup cup. My matcha was perfect, it had the right amount of sweetness and a great start to my morning. Definitely have to come inside the shop one day, it's newer and larger so I bet it's really cute inside. The service never felt rushed even though we came close to close. I also had no idea we walked in during their "US Hour" from 12:00 to 2:30, so that ended up being a nice surprise. They offer $7 draft beers, $9 wine, $10 mimosas, plus a handful of bites for $9. We started with the Fried Calamari Tentacles from the US Hour menu. They're served with Japanese mayo, although it tasted like there was some citrus mixed in because it had a nice tangy kick. Whatever it was, it worked really well with the crispy calamari. To drink, I ordered the Yuzu Matcha Mimosa. It had a really vibrant green color that almost reminded me of green juice. I actually enjoyed it. The matcha flavor came through without getting lost. My friend wasn't the biggest fan because they thought it leaned a little too bitter, so I think this one depends on how much you already enjoy matcha. For my entree, I ordered the Duck and Waffles ($24), which comes with crispy duck confit, a waffle, passionfruit guava sauce, and chili crunch. This was easily the highlight of the meal. The duck was cooked perfectly. It was crispy on the outside, tender inside, and seasoned just enough to let the meat shine. I also appreciated that the chili crunch actually had some heat instead of just being there for texture. The waffle was light and fluffy. I'm a sucker for sweet and savory combinations, so the powdered sugar paired with the rich duck was enough to win me over. The passionfruit guava sauce was the only part I wasn't completely sold on. It wasn't bad by any means. I just think it's one of those flavors that comes down to personal preference. This ended up being one of those meals that reminded me why I keep a running list of places I want to try. Great food. Great service. A fun happy hour that I accidentally stumbled into. We had the Beignets (5 for $12) to share, and I ordered the Curry Hamburg ($20), a Black Sesame Latte ($7) w/ a shot of Matcha (+$2), and a Matcha Yuzu Mimosa ($13) for myself. The beignets, perfectly shared between the 5 of us, were a bit too dense and possessed a weirdly hard outer crust. The matcha cream and black sesame mascarpone serving as dips made them a little more enjoyable. The black sesame latte was deliciously nutty, but the matcha shot at the $2 up charge was exorbitant. (Note: This is their only caffeine addition -- along with hojicha -- as they do not have an espresso machine). I was very disappointed in the Curry Hamburg, unfortunately. This was a failed attempt at omurice. The egg, while plentiful, was not even seasoned. Further, the equally unseasoned hamburger patty was very dry and the sauce over-salty. They should have distributed the salt and seasoning throughout the dish because it lacked serious balance. They just added beer and mimosas, so the Matcha Yuzu Mimosa, though overkill with the Matcha (and likely wasted), did ease the ache some. I made reservations online via OpenTable where I had to put a credit card down and agree to the seemingly shady policy regarding party changes within a 24 hour period. We were seated immediately, but they gave us a table with some weird wooden fold-up chairs. Our table was strangely the only one with these uncomfortable chairs. It was also excessively loud and we almost didn't learn the name of our server, who, by the way, was PHENOMENAL despite some of the disappointment with the food! Thank you (Mick) Jagger for taking care of us and getting our food out to us so quickly!

I think this is one of my new favorite coffee spots. I am a big Starbucks drinker but my friend recently took me here because it's close to her place and I honestly liked the drinks better haha. I got the Hazelnut Divinity and it tastes so good. One thing I wanted to highlight was the barista who took my order, Austin. I told him I had never been to better buzz before and he helped me find my new drink. Instead of just giving a random suggestion, he asked me what I usually like to get and eventually guided me to the Hazelnut Divinity. He then complimented my hoodie and said he liked the artist that was on it. He then continued the conversation as I waited for my drink since there was no line. We talked about the artist's upcoming concert and as I was on my way out, he even wished me luck in getting tickets. BIG SHOUTOUT TO THE MORNING TEAM! I came in early this morning and you can tell there wasn't many people on shift but they were all hustling and doing such a good job with smiles on their face. It seemed busier than usual but i guess something about there screens weren't working, I didn't mind the wait because technology does that- but they killed it and seem like such hard working employees. It was crazy how much orders they went through so fast, i peaked over the counter and probably a trail of 50+ cups. You can tell they were spread thin, but you could definitely feel the support from the manager because they all put in their best effort and pushed through. This is an appreciation post for Grace, the window batista I encountered this morning. I watched her get yelled at by the guy two cars ahead of me. He literally parked his car after getting his coffee, in the drive thru, the got out of his car to go to the window to yell at her about how his drink order was incorrect. She was so calm and collected and kind (I would not have been able to think straight, but she was so graceful- see what I did there??). She offered to correct the mistake and kept it moving, and by the time I got to the window she was cheerful and acting like nothing happened. I commend Grace's customer service skills under pressure! The coffee itself is just okay--sometimes the drinks can be a little on the sweet side, depending on what you order. However, their chai lattes are fantastic! They're perfectly spiced and always hit the spot. The real standout for me, though, are the açaí bowls. They're delicious, packed with a generous amount of fresh fruit and granola, and the portion sizes are really satisfying. Definitely a great option if you're craving something light and refreshing. So saw that we got a new coffee shop near by. Better Buzz, so I stopped by to see what all the buzz was about. Line was long but not any different than Starbucks. Order a few drinks and our barista Janelle greeted us with a smile and read back our order to us. Everything was correct and the drinks taste really good. Better Buzz is my go-to coffee spot! Their Snickerdoodle Latte is unreal--smooth espresso, creamy oat milk, and the perfect cinnamon-sugar sweetness. It literally tastes like a warm cookie in a cup! It was so busy late Sunday morning. The drive thru line moved super fast, and the employees were really friendly! Drinks and food were all delicious. I ordered an acai bowl and a cold hazelnut divinity. The drink sounded super sweet but the order taker did a great job of letting me know that my drink could be modified 1/2 or 1/4 sweet. This is easily my favorite Better Buzz location so far! Despite being a high-traffic spot--especially with its proximity to Kaiser--the team here handles the rush incredibly well. The staff are consistently friendly and efficient, which is impressive given how busy they stay. Had such a great experience here! Gabby was amazing friendly, upbeat, and genuinely welcoming. She surprised me with a free everything cream cheese danish, which was incredible. The americano and cold brew were both decent, but the espresso was a bit less smooth than I've found at comparable shops like The Keep, The Forum, and Finjan. That said, the latte was great, and I feel like Java Garden likely excels at other sorts of drinks like cortados, Vietnamese coffees, and smoothies.
