Wanted to give Bettolino Kitchen another try. Decided to place an order online. It was easy and clear. I chose curbside pick up. There are 2 dedicated parking spots in front of the restaurant for curbside pick up. The sign instructs you to call the restaurant, give them your name and just parking spot you are in. While I was dialing, the host came out to the car and asked for my name. He returned in a flash with my order. The parking lot was full so I appreciated the dedicated spots. So impressed with the take out order as BK provides you with a card with instructions to heat up the food and also provide them feedback on their service. Went for dinner on a weekday. Got last minute reservation for four. I got the branzino. Pretty good. Cooked well. Flavorful. The accompanying sides were very good too. We were in town for valentines weekend and wanted some dinner on our first night there. Looked at this place up for pasta and walked from our hotel which was a short 15 min walk. I did not think they were going to be able to seat us but they found a spot after we Told them we were in from Sacramento and had been driving all day. The food was my god delicious. Had the focaccia with prosciutto and cheese and two different pastas. I had the chicken pesto I believe and the pasta was freshly al dente just delicious. I highly recommend. We overheard a nearby table complaining (unjustly, in our opinion), and the server responded very graciously. The drink selection is unique - I got the Fig Loves Bourbon, which was delicious. The handmade pastas were solid; we got the tagliatelle bolognese (their bestseller), which was a unique spin on a timeless classic, given the base cream sauce. Wife and I stopped in for drinks and appetizers on happy hour and we took our dog Montana and sat outside. Italian restaurants can kinda all become the same after a while, thank goodness Bettolino isn't that generic. Located in Redondo Beach area, it's a great stop for some nicer Italian pasta/food. You already know I'm a sucker for seafood so the lobster bucatini and del mare were a no brainer. Nice and creamy with a fair portion of seafood, it's gonna be a good time in your mouth. The branzino (fish) was good but I would probably stick with pasta here. Now I dunno why but we decided to get lots of dessert and yeah, no regrets at all. As always, a cappuccino and sweets is the best way to end my Italian dinner (I've become numb to caffeine so this is acceptable).
