    $17 tuna sandwich
    Jessica S.

This "little cafe" with adjoining -- often overly praised -- outdoor patio is always bustling, even many a chef are buzzing about it. Which I just do not understand. They have specialty toasts which are made from "fresh" ingredients and are presented very prettily, but with expensive price tags, high quality ingredients aside. Inside, they sell specialty tuna, trout, and sardines in tins. Their only menu item with any trace of sustenance, the Tuna Sandwich, is likely made from this tinned tuna. For $17, it should have been extraordinary, but it was quite simple and unexciting. They have intriguing coffee products, namely a lemon lychee vanilla latte, but with barely a trace of said ingredients. I gave them another try as a potential place to get work done but many a digital nomad inundate the place and just... linger. They select the multi-person benches as the only seating in the shade too. A bad look upon first observation, but the smaller tables are always in the sun, so I get it, I guess. Patio, again, is way overly praised because it's not practical whatsoever with all the terrible seating options. Adding the equally terrible parking, makes this cafe simply not worth a visit.

Solid first visit. The service is super friendly from each employee I encountered. Ordered the Honey Sea Salt Latte. Overall good and woke me up. Took about 10 min. Nice outdoor space. Can see myself coming back while in the area

A solid coffee shop! This place serves Paru matcha and coffee beans from Dune Coffee, which is a huge plus. The espresso‑based drinks and matcha are great. They have a small counter where you order, and there's usually a line -- sometimes it takes a bit to get your drink, but it's worth the wait. They also have an outdoor patio, which is a nice spot to sit. Their menu includes fresh, local, ingredient‑forward dishes and a nice wine selection that I haven't tried yet. Overall, a great spot for matcha, coffee, and a relaxed vibe.

Outdoor space! This is a nice chill hipster spot very much needed on Adams Ave with lunch tables on a patio. I had a cappuccino and it had very strong espresso taste which was great, good coffee here. The strawberry ricotta bread was good but a bit expensive at $13 for it being a snack size. I appreciated the grandma plate and the baristas bringing it out of me so I didn't have to get up. Great for catching up with friends or a short WFH session, will def be back!

I've heard great things about their tuna sandwhich so I had to come try it myself. Hands down one of the best tuna sandwhiches I've ever had! I think they bake their own bread and it was so delicious. I love that the tuna and tapenade complement each other really well.

Service was good but the food was overpriced and was not very good. I got a chopped salmon toast with cream cheese I think. My bf got the toast with the fish eggs. The salmon was fishy and the fish eggs were salty. Overhyped for sure.

Bica is an easy 5 stars. Delicious food and drinks, good service, and plenty of seating on their cute outdoor patio.

I hate coming here. When Bica first opened in our neighborhood we loved trying different drinks and items on the menu, enjoying their unique twists on everything and their delicious pastries and sandwiches. Sometimes it can be a hit or miss, as with most places that have more of an experimental approach, but lately I've been leaving Bica just regretting coming and wishing i had gone somewhere else for my morning routine. The staff will 100% prioritize their friends that walk into the coffee shop, over customers. This has happened many times where I'll walk in, place an order, then notice 5 people behind me in line getting their drinks before me simply because they're high-fiving and hugging the owners or baristas. I've waited 30-45 min for an iced tea while 10 people get their coffees who ordered after me because I'm not sure if it's easier to make 10 coffees in a row then stop your flow to make an iced tea, but they definitely don't make the drinks in order here which is so frustrating on top of the long lines. Bica is such a scene now it's more trouble than it's worth.

This was a cute cafe that I visited in July of 2024. We ordered at the counter and sat outside. I chose the house cured lox and my friend opted for the cold cut sandwich. We chose got a tea and coffee, but I don't remember the names LOL. The salmon lox was really good and I got to try my friends sandwich as well. There was plenty of meat and the baguette was the perfect texture. Since it was a warm day, there were lots of flies buzzing around, so it made it a bit difficult to enjoy our food. I would love to come back and try their other menu items!

Only choice is huge pastry and small coffee. I prefer lg or even med sized coffee and a healthier portion of pastry.

Think I'm kind of just over this place now. They only sell giant pastries and small coffees. I'd rather it be the other way around. I don't want to pay $6 for a huge carrot cake that three people can share or $4 for a small coffee. Can you please make smaller loaves for $4 instead and sell a large coffee for like $4.50? I don't know. But I go to a coffee shop for coffee. Not overwhelming amounts of pastry. Please reconsider your food and drink portion/sizes.

Cute little coffee shop right on Adams! The guy who took my order and my waitress was super nice. I ordered the honey sea salt latte, vanilla matcha with Meyer lemon cold foam, and the tuna sandwich. The coffee was yummy, decent for the price. The matcha was not for me, i didn't enjoy the type of matcha that was used and I was sitting outside in the shade and it started to curdle. The Meyer lemon cold foam was yummy on its own, i wish i ordered it with my coffee instead. The tuna sandwich is delicious but it only comes à la carte. Would have been great with a pickle or some pickled red onions. I saved half and ate it later at home retoasted, with pickles and chips 8.7/10 for the tuna sandwich!

Bica is the perfect combination of having an amazing lunch while relaxing in a calming outdoors patio! Food & "coffee" is always delicious and their staff are always so kind and welcoming!!! Thank you Bica for your great food & service! Favorite place to have lunch with my daughter!

Came across this spot while walking around the neighborhood and was immediately drawn to the huge outdoor seating area. There aren't any indoor tables, but the outdoor setup is spacious and inviting. I ordered a latte, which was good. There was also a DJ playing music outside, I'm not sure if it was a special event or just part of the regular vibe. In the backyard, there was a small cart selling chicken noodle soup that looked very popular as well.

Bought a bag of their beans and it came with a free cup of drip or iced from that same bean. After browsing their selection of beans, I couldn't quite find the type of profile I like but there were a variety of profiles. I bought a bag for a gift for someone who might appreciate their shop style and profile. At the time of my visit there were no decaf beans available. Took advantage of taking the free iced coffee and was surprise of my sipping acceptwnc! RAW POWER - their mainstay coffee which has a profile of chocolate and orange. I had this as an iced coffee - straight up black with no added anything and I thought I'd hate it without anything but I enjoyed the ice coffee as black and plain. From here I could really taste the bean profile very clearly and indeed could find the chocolate and the orange, more the orange than the chocolate. I am not into acidity or tart when I take my lattes but I don't mind that orange flavor when I take an iced coffee. It was an inquiring taste! I'd like to come back and try their decaf beans with with a flavored latte or an iced coffee plain as possible.

High quality and unique options with fun flavors. The shop is relatively small with seating in and outside. There are also records for sale and they have a really cool curated selection. The staff is also really cool, sweet and quick to make drinks.

They also had foosball tables, checkers, and a deck of cards for patrons to enjoy. I ordered the Aztec Mocha Iced Latte- it blended bold espresso and rich chocolate with warm cinnamon and a spicy pinch of cayenne pepper for that warm kick at the end! My wife ordered the Horchata Iced Latte- it was sweet and creamy with a nutty taste! Lowkey, it reminded of an arroz con leche pudding 10/10! Instead of rows of tables, the shop has tiered seating in the back that almost feels like a little amphitheater. It gives everyone their own space whether you're studying, catching up with a friend, or just enjoying your drink. There are also outdoor seats if you want to enjoy the North Park weather. Their menu has something for everyone. They offer a seasonal menu, a lineup of specialty coffee drinks, a whole matcha menu, sparkling coffee drinks, classic espresso drinks, teas, breakfast sandwiches, and fresh pastries. I ordered their summer seasonal drink, Mr. Sunshine. It comes with house banana, brown sugar, macerated macadamia, organic matcha, and milk. I was a little nervous because that's a lot of flavors in one drink. I thought one ingredient would overpower everything else. Surprisingly, every flavor had its own moment. I also noticed they had a seasonal fresh guava cream top while I was there. I didn't get to try it this visit, but it's already on my list for next time because it sounds incredible. The service was quick and friendly. We were able to grab a seat inside without waiting, which was nice because this seems like the kind of place that fills up fast. Now, this wasn't the best matcha I've ever had, but it was definitely one of the more creative ones. I really appreciate when a coffee shop takes risks with flavors while still letting each ingredient shine. Between the beautiful space, thoughtful menu, and welcoming atmosphere, I can easily see myself coming back. Whether you're looking for a place to study, catch up with friends, or just take a few pictures, Lovesong is definitely worth checking out.

Thank you IG for another great find! One late weekend morning, we sought Baci out! Located on the first floor inside a small apartment complex of Camino Del Rio south. They have a few designated parking spots right outside their shop. We thought the apartment complex shared the lot with the shop, but parking is available in any open spot. The complex seems to only be partially occupied. We just wanted a quick small bite. Upon our first visit we ordered the Morning market croissant sandwich (cost $12.99) just to try out and see if we would like it. The toasted croissant was filled with ham and cheese and a delicious garlic spread, we dined there in the front portion of the cafe amidst the beautiful cherry blossom trees. It was absolutely delish and hit the spot and we were on our way! The other items we've tried at Baci include there following: All delish! - The Don: sandwich with chicken, bacon, avocado, provolone, arugula, pesto and garlic aioli on sourdough, warmed up panini style - Italian croissant sandwich: mozzarella, prosciutto, arugula, lemon dill aioli with a balsamic glaze - The Empress/ Tiramisu latte: the drink is sweet with a housemade tiramisu foam, very rich, it's similar to a latte They also have specialty items like coffee, cookies, packaged pastas to buy. If you purchase $25 worth of merchandise, you get a free Baci tote bag! They have this back area which seems like a speakeasy, slightly hidden, online says you have a reserve a table there. If it's not busy during the day, you can ask staff if you can dine in that area. Beautifully decorated, the room is draped with cherry blossom like trees creating a magical space.
