    Ginger chicken rice plate
    Anam B.

I've tried this food truck a few times since it regularly shows up near my office. The first time I had the spicy chicken rice platter. Which is basically plain chicken (thigh meat I believe, definitely not white meat) with a spicy mayo sauce poured on top. The platters are served with kimchi, cucumbers, and a daikon carrot slaw. I didn't care for the spicy chicken with the rice, I think it would be better in a sandwich. The rice itself is very tasty and the sides are all good! The second time I had the ginger chicken rice platter and this was AMAZING. Similar to the spicy chicken, this is just plain chicken thighs with a ginger sauce poured on top. The ginger sauce doesn't feel as heavy as the spicy mayo, so it goes really well with rice. Delicious! My only issue with this place is that sometimes the chicken tastes old. The chicken seems like it isn't seasoned, since all of the flavor comes from the sauce, so maybe that's why it has this taste? Not really sure what the cause is, old chicken or lack of seasoning, either way I will probably not visit again. Which is a shame because the food is actually very tasty, if only the meat was fresh!

Bulgogi bowl at the top, chicken on the bottom. Bulgogi was DELICIOUS, so much flavor, and spicy kimchi

Food and service wise, this place is awesome. They popped up at an event I was attending and I saw Bulgogi on the menu, among tacos and other items, and wanted to give it a shot. I got the Bulgogi bowl that had rice, carrots, kimchi, cucumbers, chives and a sauce on top (about $12). The entire dish was awesome -- the Bulgogi was super flavorful, the kimchi was good (pretty spicy), and the mix of everything was well-balanced. The chives were a nice touch on top. I would absolutely get food from here again, even if it's a little pricey in my book, because the portions are large for the bowls at least. I also liked that they didn't use styrofoam (that I noticed) and used the little paper bowls instead. My only main "negative" (if even negative) comment is that it's a little confusing to know what type(s) of food they serve based on the name (and even instagram). It's sort of Vietnamese/Japanese fusion, but I think it would help them out to better showcase their food. It's amazing, so just need to get the word out better!

Spicy Pork, Spicy Chicken and Bulgogi Tacos topped with spicy mayo sauce.

This was the first time I had ever seen this truck around and its name definitely intrigued me. I was pleasantly surprised to find out they served Korean cuisine. I wanted to try more than one meat so I got the three taco combo for $8 with spicy chicken, spicy pork and Bulgogi. Each were topped with kimchi, cilantro, pickled cucumbers and spicy mayo. I've never been a fan of pickled cucumbers or kimchi but the combination of all of these on the tacos were tasty. The bulgogi taco was my personal favorite. It's definitely sweeter than the average Bulgogi but it has so much flavor, was juicy and together with the toppings it was just flavortown in your mouth. The spicy pork was decent but not that good with the taco. I think it'd be better to get a rice platter with this meat. It tasted like your average spicy pork except spicer, saucier and grainier if that makes sense. Don't get me wrong I liked the spicy pork but it just didn't belong on that taco. My least favorite was the spicy chicken which in my opinion was not spicy at all. It was pretty bland and just not worth it. The toppings really carried the chicken so it was somewhat good. I do not recommend getting this meat. The prices are cheap and so worth it for the amount of product you're getting and the location of where the truck is. The wait time for this truck was short despite there being a line. The food for the most part had good delicious flavors and impressed me. If you spot this truck definitely try it!

Tried a new food truck near my office. Glad I didn't walk past this one to another one I haven't tried. Ordered the Thai Style Green Curry with Tofu, asked for no Eggplant. Also got the side of Pork'n'Chive Dumplings. Definitely will return. The dumplings are quality. They seem fresh. The dipping sauce was a little too soy-saucy for me, but that won't stop me from noming on dumplings literally ever. The curry was amazing. So spicy. Probably not for someone who can't take heat. Probably should be finely marked by the truck so people know what to expect. I, however, could never complain about something like this. The ingredients were delicious and fresh. Mushrooms, peppers, tofu, and very fresh cucumber slices. Jasmine rice was perfectly cooked and the sauce was AAAmazing. Also a bonus from a food truck after 2pm, they weren't already out of anything I wanted to order. If they offered Thai Iced tea or something else ethnic in the beverage category, I'd have gotten that too. Also the service was really friendly which is not usually the case during lunch time rush out of food carts. The man had a good sense of humor...a nice touch. Definitely check them out.

I'm a Big D addict. Went out in the pouring rain for their awesome three for seven taco deal. Soft flour tortillas filled with your choice of meats. Yeah baby. Love the guys on the truck. Every bite is a delight. Fusion that actually works. At 53rd and park at least once a week.

This truck is dope af!!! and i wasn't even expecting much So this truck is parked in front of my job midtown 53rd and park every once in awhile and it is awesome. The dude in the truck was super chill I asked him about the menu and his recommendations and I went with it since it was my first time. I ordered 3 Tacos, Bulgogi, Spicy Chicken, and Spicy Pork. I also got a side order of Yuca Fries which was total of $11. The tacos were great. And damn that spicy chicken is YO ULL. i dont even like chicken tacos like that. It also might've been cause it had a generous amount of spicy mayo. It was really good. The Yuca Fries was a pretty large portion container was completely filled. They also gave me Big D's Sauce. LOLOL anyway, Big D's sauce is ridiculous. I have no idea what it is but it was great with the Yuca Fries. They also gave me more Spicy Mayo for the Fries like they knew i wouldn't get enough from the Spicy Chicken. I FU#*KS with Big D and I will definitely be back!

I made sure to ask what type of chicken meat Big D's uses in its dishes, and was pleased to learn that they use dark meat. Sold! I got the rice platter ($10) with ginger chicken. It was a fairly hefty portion and a good balance of chicken, sauce, rice and sides (diced cucumber, carrot/radish slaw and kimchi). Meat was tasty and tender, and the rice was good too. The only complaint I have is that my food came in a styrofoam container :( I'd love to see them be more ecological and switch to something paper-based or at least recyclable plastic. Plus styrofoam isn't microwavable, which was inconvenient when I wanted to reheat my leftovers the next day. Note: The truck was parked at 50th & 6th Ave when I went on a Tuesday.

Tried this place because it was parked right across the street from my work place and it smelled amazing. I was excited to try it on my way back to the office, hoping to have found a go to asian food truck. I got the Chicken with dirty rice ($9) (the name was longer and it escapes me now but something like that) and pork and chive dumpling (3$ for 4 piece) The chicken dish along with bangok pork fried rice had hearts next to their names so i assumed it was a popular, and safe choice..... ....but I found the chicken to be extremely salty and the dumplings to be under cooked and mushy.....one dumpling out of the four had a spec of green which i assumed to be chive. But i could not tell bc i only tasted the pork....and probably bc it was only a spec...lol the dumplings all also had a lot of dough, adding onto the mushyness....i Overall i would not recommend nor would i go back. Pretty disappointed since i have eaten at most restaurants and food carts near my work place and was eagerly hoping to find a new place with good food 3 stars bc the food was not good and it took a while Not 2 bc i feel bad and this was my first time eating there....

Yuca fries+Big D's Special Sauce (aka Crack Sauce) =party in your mouth. The sauce is mayo based, so you know that just goes well with any type of fried entity, (however fat that statement just made me sound) Help! I can't stop eating them! Crispy, crunchy and can stand up to styrofoam sweat! Yuca is highly underrated and I personally prefer them over potato fries... and this is one of the few trucks that carry them... Yes, their yuca fries merited a full on review... Everything else is delicious of course and many people have reviewed it as much... The only thing is, I would prefer they use jasmine rice in the platters... again, a personal preference... i understand the korean/american/mexican spin they convey on their menu... Big D's : consider paper containers please! :)

2 orders of dumplings, fries, and Big D's sauce

Love this truck, I know when I order from here I'm going to get quality food truck food. They call their sandwiches grinders and they do not disappoint. They're big enough to make a big guy like me full. The spicy pork for their tacos and grinders gives the heat and flavor to compliment the crispy bread or tortilla. There's veggies in the grinder like cucumber, cilantro and carrots, haha, all C's, so you don't feel too guilty eating the whole grinder. The Big D sauce can go on anything. From the dumplings to the fried yucca to the grinders, this sauce is awesome! it's tangy, creamy, a little spicy, all kinds of flavor you want in a sauce that goes on everything. Surprisingly, the dumplings from this food truck impress me. For $3 you get 4 decent sized dumplings. 2 orders of this made me full. There's nothing special or different about these dumplings, it's just that they make the traditional stuff right. When you keep it simple and do it right, it tastes good. The spice they put on the fries makes them tasty enough to eat without ketchup. I've gone with other big guy friends and they've all been impressed at how they can get full from the food. Great portions, great price, great food.

Just devoured (!) a super-sized rice platter with both spicy pork and spicy chicken. Cilantro is awesome. And I was hit with a wave of that awesome scent as soon as I opened my platter. The creamy spicy mayo on the chicken was balanced by the spiciness of the Korean pork, accentuated further by the cilantro and scallions topping the meat. But meat alone is never enough- it needs some veggies and spice to bring out true succulence, and Big D's daikon salad and crunchy cucumbers worked perfectly with the saucy pieces of chicken and pork. I also tried the pork and chive dumplings that came with two sauces, a spicy soy sauce and a citrus-y ginger glaze. I am a huge fan of the citrus and these dumplings are pretty bomb. (They are similar to chinese-style dumplings with thick skin and a lot of meat!) I came back to Big D's because I found the owner, Dennis K, to super passionate about what he does and caring about the food he puts out. There's a LOT of FLAVOR, and it's a complete meal which is sometimes hard to expect from a truck. Compared to the other food trucks in the area, Big D's stands out because he definitely has a lot of pride in his offerings and you will definitely leave feeling full and satisfied!

Bulgogi Taco & Ginger Chicken Taco

My boyfriend & I went to a Food Truck Rally recently and spotted Big D's Grub Truck. We've tried it before, but had a vague memory of it. My boyfriend and I ordered three tacos and a side of Fried Yucas. Bulgogi Taco - This taco has lean beef marinated in soy sauce, garlic, sesame seed oil, served with kimchi puree, zesty scallion relish and cool, rich crema. I thought it was going to majorly spicy since there was kimchi in it, but it was only a tad spicy and I enjoyed that small kick from it. The colors from the ingredients were very vibrant. Ginger Chicken Taco - This taco consists of chicken mixed with ginger sauce, served with fresh chopped cilantro. Again, the colors of the ingredients are vibrant and inviting. This taco didn't have a kick of spice. The ginger sauce was slightly tangy and sweet, giving a nice flavor to the chicken. Fried Yuca - I've tried these before and loved it, so that's why I opted for it again. Ther were a few sauces to choose from, but we ordered the Big D's Secret Sauce which was savory & sweet. The Fried Yuca were crunchy, but could have used some salt. Great food! Great customer service!

    The bill of fare.

Keep on food-truckin'. So, this bright yellow "Korean taco" food truck has recently appeared near my office. The menu offers tacos and grinders (both with choice of bulgogi, spicy pork or chicken, or ginger chicken), with sides of pork dumplings, fries, or fried yucca. I had the ginger chicken taco and a side of dumpings, an excellent meal at five and a half dollars and under five minutes. The dumplings were juicy and flavorful, the taco came wrapped in a double corn tortilla and was light and fresh, with a little cucumber and cilantro. Word of warning: a stream of dumpling juice shot out when I bit the thing. Proceed with caution and don't try eating this at your desk!

There are a few locations, but I decided to visit this one because it was the most convenient for getting to and from home. I got there around 7:00 PM, which felt a little close to closing time since Google said they close at 9:00 PM, but it wasn't busy at all. In fact, I was only the third customer to place an order. I ordered the La Summer sandwich and added pesto. After sitting down and taking my first bite, I immediately understood the hype. Without a doubt, this is one of the best sandwiches I've had in a very long time. I'm not even a huge sandwich person when it comes to subs and deli meats, but everything tasted incredibly fresh. The ingredients paired together perfectly, and you could still taste each one individually. The only thing I'd change next time is the meat. I had no idea prosciutto was a type of ham, but honestly, it didn't even taste like ham to me. It was sliced paper-thin, slightly salty, and worked surprisingly well with everything else. Next time, though, I'll probably add salami just to see how it compares. Overall, this sandwich was a solid 10/10, and I will absolutely be back--whether it's to try a different sandwich or, if we're being honest, order the exact same one again with salami added. I will say it's on the expensive side, but that's New York City for you. Apparently, all of the ingredients are flown in from Italy. After tax and tip, I paid a whopping $28 for a single sandwich. That said, it was incredibly filling and definitely kept me satisfied. The workers were also really nice and accommodating, and the indoor seating was beautiful. The atmosphere felt like a fancy Italian café, complete with couches and artwork throughout the space. I wish I had taken pictures, but honestly, I was too busy enjoying what might be the best sandwich I've had in years.

We were lucky enough that we came on a Friday around 2 and they were still having lunch specials. We started with the pork soup dumplings (of course). And they were everything and more. They were so full and hot and steamy and perfect. I'm still thinking about them a week later. For lunch I went with the Seasame chicken and my boyfriend got the general tso chicken. Both came with a spring roll and my boyfriend opted for pork fried rice. I'm not trying to diss Miami but we don't exactly have good Chinese food down here. After one bite of this Seasame chicken, my world changed. It was the best sesame chicken I've ever had, and I'm not exaggerating. It was fried but not greasy, the sauce was sweet but not overly sweet. You could literally taste the Seasame. I'm not even lying when I tell you, I planned to take some as leftovers but I ate it all...it was so good. My recommendation to you is run, don't walk, like sprint over here if you're in NYC and want super delicious Chinese food. Also shoutout to everyone who attended us. They were all super nice and made our experience so great!

It doesn't have much seating in the location itself, but there is communal seating outside (still indoors). The food came out quickly, and I really liked that they had a basket showing the different types of bread you could choose for your sandwich. The sandwich itself is a bit pricey, but it is large. It's tasty! It all seems very fresh, and it's a good sandwich.

I have three big guys with me and sometimes quick lunches need to be more filling than fast food options, so we chose Alidoro's under Rockefeller Plaza. We could walk to it form the hotel and it was in the middle off all we wanted to show the boys on their first day (first time) in the city. We all chose different sandwiches and they were ready pretty fast. Since the shop itself is not huge, we landed a small space at the window bar with two stools and some standing room. After being in a car and on a flight and in another car all morning, we weren't mad about the standing part. We were all able to share and sample each sandwich, and honestly, we were not disappointed. We were all full and happy when we weren't finished, so what more could we want for a relatively quick NYC meal? Being under the plaza, the restrooms were outside the shop but very close by so we were able to wash hands and such before journeying out into the wild. I would definitely stop back by again on another trip! The guys and I all gave Alidoro's two thumbs up - so 8 thumbs total, if you're counting.
