If I could separate my review into two reviews I would (more on this later). I've been coming to this establishment every Friday for three years and the staff get 5 stars (Taylor is awesome, super helpful), the food 4.5 stars. All of that is great, love this place. However I give the owners 0 stars, they nickle and dime everything while their staff recognize repeat customers and realize their repeat business is more important than making one more buck off of me. (I wanted 2 extra scoops of edamame charged $2.00 by the owner, I wanted extra cucumbers for my son, charged again....). The owners rarely recognize repeat customers despite coming in every Friday like clockwork. It's a real shame because their staff rocks, I wish the owners would just phase themselves out of taking customer orders. Great food, great staff, crappy owners. read more

Big Eye Poke is a big time favorite in my neighborhood. The fish and ingredients have always been fresh, the food is good and the price is very good for what you are getting. The only thing that I note or don't understand is why ginger or wasabi does not automatically comes when you order sushi so please remember to ask for it at this establishment because you will be disappointed to get your sushi home thinking that wasabi and ginger was already included as it is at other sushi places. Also please note that even though they do serve drinks with boba; they do not always have boba made on hand to sell. Enjoying a large size bowl. Lots of fresh options. The seared garlic ahi was a nice option. I hadn't seen that one. The only reason I have a four was that they use paper bowls to mix the protein options then throw them away. Somewhat wasteful. Most places I go seem to use a reusable container. Awesome poke place. I had the duo combo, which is a small poke bowl in addition to two tacos. They have two kinds of tacos: crunchy shrimp taco and beef bulgogi taco. Both tacos had great flavor, but I thought the crunchy shrimp taco had more flavor as it had spicy tuna in it as well as a tempura shrimp and avocado. The poke bowl was good with the garlic tuna. The customer service was excellent and they were very friendly. Staff were able to complete our three orders efficiently in a very timely manner, given that they also had some take out orders they were also prepping. Just a fair warning, I'm a huge, HUGE sushi and poke connoisseur, so this review is going to be detailed and long, but if you're a big fish fan like me, you're going to want to read. Staff : 5 stars Really enjoyed the friendliness of the staff here, very kind and attentive to me, which I wish every store and restaurant had. The young man working here deserves a raise for being so nice. Best customer service. Cleanliness: 5 stars Place is brand new, so its clean. The workspace and food prep area was also clean, which is huge for me because I work with the health department, so I look.for these things. Food portion: 5 stars You can see from my photo I posted that I received a generous amount of food. Granted, I did order their largest bowl, but I've had large bowls from other places that weren't nearly this large. Lots of food. Quality/Taste: 3 stars This is where I had an issue with this establishment. The quality of the fish/ taste is lacking. Wasnt very flavorful or fresh tasting, nor was it cut up into small pieces like a traditional poke bowl. Very large, chewy pieces. Not too appetizing. Also had the wasabi aioli sauce which was very much lacking in flavor. I like wasabi alot, but this sauce had very little trace of wasabi flavor it in. Made my.whole bowl very bland tasting. Not a big fan of the cold rice served with it either. Usually rice is served warm with cold ingredients on top which make for a nice mix of temperature and flavor, but here the rice was.cold and hard, not.good. Price:3 stars I paid $19 for my large bowl and thai boba drink (the thai tea was delicious btw) and I honestly feel a bit ripped off. The taste and quality of the food was definitely not.worth the price and needless to say, I didnt finish my bowl, I ended up tossing the last half of it. Overall this restaurant has room to grow and revisit their recipes / quality of ingredients, i'm sure it will get better with time.i really want to make this my go to poke spot since its.close to home but right now, its just not quite the hit in my book. After boba cravings, I decided to stop by and pick up dinner for my boyfriend. I ordered on Yelp, small size with two protein consist of octopus and shrimp, cilantro aioli and ponzu sauce. I want to opt out from getting a drink but it doesn't give me an option. I end up getting a strawberry lemonade for my boyfriend. Cost around $16 dollars. Second order, small size consist of two scoops of tuna, house sauce and cost $14 dollars. The price is on a expensive side. Presentation and taste wise: There is not enough sauce and the rice was a bit dry. The octopus taste slimy and shrimp is undercooked and had a plastic texture. Even my boyfriend fish taste fishy as well. I don't know what is going on when all the reviews are good. I had a bad experience and all that poki food I brought was thrown away in the trash can. It is hard to find a decent poki place in Riverside area where they are not stringy about sauce, proteins not being fishy and slimy, and the rice being dry. I end up getting ono Hawaiian bbq and that satisfied both dinners for my significant other, taste so bomb. I'm not going to come back here again as the food quality here is just horrible. read more

When I saw this poke place by my neighborhood Ralph's, I have to be honest I was a bit skeptical...but it's quickly becoming my go to poke place for convenience and tastiness. Portions are large, price is descent, and quality of food is great! The first time I came here I had their Crunchy Crabby Pokerito and it was DELICIOUS and very filling! Would definitely get it again. I also ordered a crunchy sushi roll and it was basic, nothing special but it's a crunch roll so it isn't anything special to begin with, but very good. The second time here I got the Big Fish Bowl which has three proteins. Note: definitely pick a combo of sauces to boost the flavor. If you only pick 1 sauce.....it's gonna be boring!! I did a combo of spicy mayo, eel sauce and wasabi aioli and it was great! Tonight was my first time trying Big Eye Poke since they are running to-go & delivery deals through GrubHub due to the stay-at-home orders. They caught my eye as something different than your usual fast food delivery that's becoming all too common during this quarantine. I must say I was extremely satisfied with my order. I got a "build your own" poke bowl with spicy tuna & salmon, with the works! I requested extra spicy & I was very impressed that they sure seem to know what extra spicy means, cause my bowl was hot, just the way I personally like it! The flavors were amazing & everything tasted cold & fresh. After placing my order online, I called to confirm that my order went through & the woman on the other line was very friendly & quickly accommodating. When my husband came back from picking up my dinner, he said the male that worked there was very kind as well. So it's safe to say that customer service is also an added bonus! I am so happy I found this little gem to curb my sushi/poke cravings! The small bowl was a lot of food, and I loved every bite. I've had poke bowls many times, but this was my first time ordering a pokerito. Ehhhh it's not for me. I felt like it needed more crunch, and there was too much rice. I love how crunchy my poke bowl is with all the different veggies and salad, and I also look choosing every bite. I love this poke place. They get everything right. We have ordered delivery, takeout, and walked in to order. They always get the order made correctly. The ingredients are fresh. The service is friendly. I don't like going anywhere else for poke in Corona! I order the small bowl because it has plenty of seafood in it for a single serving. I love to get half rice and half mixed greens. Even though they use the same scooper that all poke places use, they don't put the seafood on a scale to measure. You order 2 scoops, you get 2 scoops. Other places scoop and measure and take fish out of the scoop. Sure, it helps their pocketbook. Let's be honest though. When you're paying $12 for a bowl of veggies and 1 serving of fish, you could buy a heck of a lot more fish at the seafood counter in your local grocer for the same price.
