Went to the Big o on windmill and pecos i had a nail in my tire ,the service mgr said to me will take a look at it and see if can be repair i said ok the tech takes the tire off my Suv don't even take the tire off the rim just brings it inside the office where the service mgr is and tells me the service mgr wants to see you because the tire could not be fixed. So i told him no just put the tire back on and i will bring it to my mechanic so i bring it to my mechanic looks at the tire and finds the nail it was a small nail that didn't even go all the way in the tire it didn't even need a patch or a plug. BIG O TIRES is a rip off. i called the corporate office and told them they didn't even care that there ripen people off the person i spoke to had the balls to tell me what am i getting mad about you didn't buy the tire. Never again will i go to BIG O for anything. RIP OFF!!!! read more

Rip Off's!!! They did an oil change for me, inspected my brakes and told be they were fine, but I needed a new water pump for $800!!! LOL Had it, all my hoses, all my belts, new thermostat and radiator flush for $400!! Somewhere Else!!! Then when I returned the next week because my brakes had been squeaking since they inspected them the week before, they had the balls to tell me it was because I needed new brakes. When I told them their Mac has just said my brakes were fine last week, they said I must have driven them hard!! IN A WEEK???? Took my truck down the street to Midas on St Rose...they told me I still had 50% left on my pads!!! Do yourself a favor....DONT DO BUSINESS with these cheese balls!!!!! read more

First time and last time I'm going there. I went there to get a new TPMS sensor, first according to them they're all metal, but what they put on was rubber, very flexible stem so I know it's not metal, and second they didn't even bother checking the mileage and plate number, they put "Temp" plates on receipt and they put 150,000 miles when my 2012 car only has 84,000 miles. No warranty on new TPMS sensors, seriously! read more

Had a great experience (again) yesterday! This is our neighborhood go-to place for our vehicles. Always great customer service. I picked my car up at 5:40pm (20 minutes before closing) and if the staff can still offer a smile and friendly service behind the counter at the end of a long day, that's what keeps customers coming back! And ladies, I was very pleasantly surprised that the bathroom (at a tire shop) was clean, smelled nice with scented oil sticks, floors spotless. The customer service here is tops. After a stressful afternoon of being stranded on the side of the rode with a flat tire I couldn't find a company that had my tire in stock. I was reluctantly about to take my car to the Cadillac dealership for a new tire and remembered Big O Tires. Trent was very helpful and said they didn't have the tire in stock but could get it within an hour. They beat the dealership's price by several hundred dollars too! True to their word they had my tire and me in and out within an hour. Very very nice people here. After a stressful day of roadside assistance and calling around trying to locate a tire, it was a relief to deal with friendly helpful people who fixed my problem quickly. I took my Xterra in for a oil change. Of course the technician found somethings to fix: brake fluid flush, cooling system service, trans flush. Most alarmingly both front and rear brakes needed replacement (with rotors since the tech said there were hot spots on the rotors. None of this seemed right since I was pretty sure I had had the brakes done within the last year or two. And with working from home, I don't drive much. So I read Yelp review and found a place that seemed to offer confidence. I called Shaun at Asian Imports and he said he would be glad to do an evaluation. I took the Xterra in the day after the Big O oil change. He called me and said both sets of brakes are fine (front at 60%, rear pretty new.) Move over he said the oil change hadn't been done correctly. The engine was 2 qts low and the oil filter was leaking!! I had wondered if it was time to change the fuel pump since I have 166K miles on the Xterra. He tested it and said it was in great shape (he could have said to replace it...but he didn't (about $600 or so). So I will not let Big O touch a care of mine (or anyplace like it) since they just do oil changes to sell you high margin service. Try to find a family owned venture (like Asian Imports). They are in it for the long haul...or they won't be around. Test them and let them build confidence in their honesty and judgement. read more

My front pass tire was starting to wear wrong so I brought it to Big O for an alignment. I opted to replace all 4 tires as well since I knew they were due. They sold me a set of four tires along with the alignment and an oil change. No big deal. The next day, I'm driving and the TPMS sensor starts flashing. I take it back in and they pull the tire. They then tell me that I don't have a TPMS sensor on my drivers front tire at all and is missing completely. Highly suspect considering I've never once had an issue with the TPMS until they swapped the tires and if in fact it had not been there I would have had an error light and they would have seen that it was missing when they swapped the tires. The story doesn't add up. I know how things work and I'm very mechanically inclined. Rather then just installing a new sensor (which I suspect was damaged either during the tire install or upon removing the tire to inspect) they suggested swapping the sensor from my spare rim to with the front drivers rim. When asked how much to install a new sensor, $253.00!! No way in hell am I paying for a sensor you damaged or lost. Rather then argue with these guys I told them to swap the rim and I'll take it somewhere else. I don't even care if it costs me double to replace it somewhere else, I'm not paying them a cent more. I've been to this location specifically a few times for everything from getting a tire patched (at no cost!) to getting new shocks and struts on my Toyota 4Runner. They have great customer service - very friendly and upfront. They are quick, the place is clean, easy to get to and has the added bonus of lots of things to do in the parking lot while you wait. Why do these places have to lie? They sent out a coupon for synthetic blend oil change at a good price then tell you your car only takes full synthetic oil which just happens to be 3 times more expensive. This was despite the fact that my owners manual calls for a synthetic blend. I was a 2 car customer at this location for 6 years. Now I can't trust them. read more

Big O Tires might want to reconsider it's motto: "The Team You Trust" because the folks who work here try to sell customers on unnecessary service and parts just to pad the bill. But let's put the positives up front: if you come in here with decent knowledge about car repair and what is/is not necessary to keep your particular car running, Big O Tires isn't a bad mechanic shop. Their mechanics do solid work and they carry premium tires and will help you choose the right tires to fit your car's make and model, That said, if you need a mechanic you can trust to tell you what work needs to be done on your car, go somewhere else. This shop is all about sales--more service, more parts--mostly unnecessary. It's a shame really that this has become the standard at corporate mechanic shops. If only there was a corporate mechanic operating on the idea of trust--only advising customers to obtain the necessary repairs and distinguishing optional repairs--that shop would earn a lot of repeat business. Big O Tires does not do that. Even if you come in telling them you want a specific, cheap repair (like patching a tire), they will try to sell you on the more expensive, unneeded option (new tires!). So don't come here unless you feel confident enough in your car repair knowledge to tell the mechanics what repairs you do and don't need. read more

I went here about a month after my husband moved here. I had a flat tire and decided that I need to get two of my tires replaced. Just a couple of months prior I had purchased 2 new tires for the same car. When I went in they looked up my car in the 'system' and told me that I would need 4 new tires even though I still had 2 brand new tire. I told them not this time. Later they called me and tried to tell me there was a ton of other issues with my car, none of which my old Big O told me about. When I said no to the extra repairs, I was told to pick up my car. The new tires were on the car and my car was in the lot. They did not put my spare back where it goes, they just threw it in the back. I have never had a shop do that before. It was as if they were not willing to do one thing extra if I was not going to do any extra repairs. Later, I took my car to my dad who owns a mechanic shop (not in Vegas) and showed he the estimate they gave me on everything they said was wrong with my car. He said none of those repairs were needed at all. Needless to say, I won't be back. read more

I used to be a customer of Big O for tires and oil changes but that will end. Tried to go in the morning when they opened for low tire pressure and all they would do is put air in it and sent me on my way. 4 hours later my tire is completely flat and there was actually a nail in it. I called them at 4:45 asking if i could bring it in to get taken care of before closing and they said no problem. Put more air in my tire to be able to make it there. Got there around 5:10pm for them to tell me he's only taking one more car and then he's done because it'll take him 35 minutes for his last one. They told me to leave it over night and come back tomorrow because he can't give anyone over time. The nail was in a spot that It only needed a patch so it would take 20 minutes tops so it could have been fixed before closing. Luckily there was enough air to get me to Discount Tires and they took care of it right away no issues at all 20 minutes before they closed read more

Leading up to this past week, I have had a positive experience with this Big O Tires location. I have gone in twice now this week because I had to take care of some issues in regards to a flat tire I got. Today, I was ignored in the lobby for about 20 minutes. After it was our turn to go up to the counter, we were quickly brushed off and given to a different employee. This employee was on the phone with another customer, ignoring us for a few more minutes. We finally explained our situation to him and he assumed we were lying about my warranty and needing a replacement tire and rather than taking a moment to call the other location that had helped us originally, he denied us instantly. When we called both locations yesterday, they told us this would be no issue. Now, I have spent thirty minutes being treated rudely and received zero help. read more

An hour in, I followed up on the job, and they said they were still waiting for the parts from the dealer; which isn't too far from the shop. Service Oriented. Fast. Fair. Great guys. I bopped in today in my new-to-me used car, with a nail in one of the tires, which I did not buy from Big O. They cheerfully, quickly removed the nail and patched the tire, no charge. They wouldn't even accept a tip. Even though I have purchased tires here in the past for other of my cars, I told 'em I did not buy the tires here and they said it didn't matter. Very impressed. Go here. This shop is a complete rip-off. I was charged 2 hours of labor for a job my mechanic said takes 30 minutes. I was also told my oil would be replaced as part of the job...LIE! I paid several hundred dollars. When I called to ask why my oil reading was less than 1/4 I was told it wasn't included. The day before called to specifically ask. I was told this was included as part of their bogus $25 "shop fee". The guys at the front desk are jerks and then they have the audacity to ask you to give them a 5 on their customer service survey. Totally bogus scores since they pretty much tell you to give them a 5 and sign a sheet. I WILL NEVER go back and tell everyone what crooks you are. read more

Overall this place was pretty solid when it came to my last minute tire changing needs. While driving to Cali, I had a blow out on the highway just before Jean fortunately and was able to change it with no problem. When I got the spare on and back to my house, I went out searching for two new rear tires for my car which are not something that most stores keep in stock. After a few phone calls and some web surfing, I found Big O Tires on Pecos/Windmill which said they could have the tires I need delivered to their store in about an hour. Within a couple of hours of me getting to the store, (they were pretty busy), they were able to change out my tires in no time. And the best part other then getting the tires so quickly? They were having a sale that weekend of buy one get one 1/2 off. So not only did I get my tires right away, but I got them for much cheaper then anywhere else in town or online. Thanks Big O Tires! The only gripe I had, which was not that big of a deal had they told me over the phone, was there was a $20 delivery charge for the tires since I needed them now instead of later. CON: Told me my 9 month old, 8000 miles used brake job was nearly gone.. after I took my vehicle back to the place I had my brakes done in May 2010, I was physically shown how my brakes looked, as opposed to Big O Tires, who told me, but didn't show me, the condition of my brakes. You take your car to Big O... you will go in for a simple oil change for example... the visit won't go 10 minutes without them finding another $500-$600 issue that they just happen to be giving a discount on at the moment... which brings their outrageous price to a slightly overpriced fix. Being a female I always feel like I'm being taken advantage at a mechanic shop but all I got to say is these guys made me feel so comfortable showed me everything from my fluid colors compared to what they should be, showed me my tires and showed me that I needed some work done and they didn't try to sell me anything I didn't need. I was having brake issues in May 2009 and I was looking for a place to take my car on a Saturday morning. I just happened to drive by Big O on Pecos/Windmill. I stopped, the guy said he could look at it right then. Long story short, 2 hours and $580.00 later my brakes were done and it was amazing what a difference good brakes make. So this month, the front brakes were sqeaking and grinding so I took it back. They did some work on them(no clue what it was) and did it at no charge which amazed me. It's much better now and he didn't try to sell me something else and it was done in under 90 minutes. This place seems honest and knowledgeable. Recommended ! EDIT: I've been back here 2X this year. My 10 year old Pontiac had some brake issues again, and I figured they'd have record of what they'd already done. Sadly, I had to spend $900 plus on brakes all round, which really makes a difference in the car!! And now, last week, my "check coolant" message was on (well, for the last month, and I kept putting coolant) so I went back here and $750 later, owned a new water pump and all the stuff that goes with it. god, I hate spending money on car repairs. I've always felt good about going here. I always have to wait to have the work done and the waiting room is clean and only smells mildly of grease and tires :) (PS The restroom is clean too). They offer free bottled water, cold, which is a nice change. At any rate, I hope I can sell the car later this year but now I know most of things are working on it! read more
