The managers trying to catch a mouse.
    Rich R.

So i saw the reviews and looked and it has the makings of a great place. Boy I was wrong. WAAAAAYYYY overpriced for what you get. I had a $28 salad that I could have gotten from Saladtogo for 8. Beer was super overpriced. OH, the best....there was a live mouse running though the dinning room. PEOPLE, there is a reason they don't have prices on the menu.

Oh man. This is a place I'd want to love and has potential. I love the atmosphere and ambiance - perfect sports bar vibe, multiple big screens, and menu boasts a great selection that looks like more than bar food. So far so good with the concept. Unfortunately the wheels fall off with the execution. I ordered the pan seared salmon with rice and asparagus. They overdid it with the salt. I mean, to the point where you could take a bite and almost crunch the grains in your mouth (see pic). The fish was fresh and juicy and cooked perfectly, but the coating of salt on top just ruined it. Tone it down next time, and this could easily be four or even five stars. (The service was great; she was fast and pleasant so no points off for that.)

    Chicken fingers and fries

The image may not be the best, but let me tell you these were the best chicken fingers I've ever eaten! Served with 4 pieces, these things were plump and juicy. The actually flavor within the chicken was on point and the seasoning in the crispy batter was even better. Every bite was perfection! Some chicken tenders... the batter falls off when you cut into it... not these! The dipping sauce was a cross between bbq and a chipotle cream type of sauce. Also delicious!

This is our go-to post or pre- events downtown. We have gone on game days, but honestly, it's a good hang for just winding down the night or watching whatever sport event is on TV. I love the nachos and the chicken strips. It's your standard Marriott in-house restaurant quality, but not too shabby. Service is nice. As long as it isn't a major game day, you can get a table relatively quickly.

The tacos and Moscow Mule was a great combination.

Good timing of the food and drinks. Temperature and food portion was worth it. Ambience was relaxing.

It's connected to the downtown Marriott hotel and has an entrance inside the lobby. Exits go back to the hotel or to the streets. Place was big and clean, offered many seating options (upstairs, downstairs, bar, or tables), and had both TVs and projector screens with multiple sports playing. Menu is a bit pricey and don't even show numbers on it so that's how you know...

Service and atmosphere is on point. Food however not so much unfortunately. My tacos are ok, but not the best. I heard the Caesar salad was very good. It looks pretty. Got an old fashioned paid $19 for but had better for cheaper. Unfortunately not a place I would rush back to.

First off, order the pretzel . It is one of the best I have ever had. Service at the bar is excellent.

    Triple Sampler

Food was mediocre, service was a lot to be desired and the ambiance was families but not full. With that being said, let me say the Texas Twinkies were the best part of the sampler platter. The tenders were over cooked & tough and the chips that came with the queso portion were very stale for a grand total of $35. I had high hopes for this experience and it just didn't make the cut for us.

The poke nachos were super delicious, crunchy, fresh and full of flavor! FERNANDO was such an amazing bartender, we've seen him a few times post Astros games but he was super attentive and friendly!! The restaurant itself is so cool with all the baseball details, huge tv screens and Astros' memorabilia. Definitely a great place to visit anytime of year!

It was a good place to hang out in downtown. It is connected to the hotel. Food was typical with burgers and Mac and cheese. Had a variety of options for drinks. They have a seating on one side and a bar on the other. It is a typical sports bar with Astros memorabilia and large open window for natural lighting. Had around 50-60 people's worth of seating and an open space on the side to stand by the bar. It was very flexible for seating. We had a reservation for 7 people and they last minute accommodated for 9 people. Service was friendly and quick.

The ambiance was great for the holiday they had themed drinks and specials going on, which added a fun touch and made it feel festive without being chaotic. Definitely a solid spot if you're looking for somewhere social but still comfortable. The drinks were good, and overall the vibe was on point. It felt like a place you could hang out for a while, whether you're there to celebrate something or just have a few drinks with friends. One thing to note is they don't serve food, I did hear they rotate food trucks at times, but none were there when we went which was a bit of a downside, but they did allow us to bring in outside food, which honestly made up for it and gave us more options. Parking wasn't too bad when we went, and since it wasn't super packed, everything felt smooth and easy. Overall, great vibes, good drinks, and a fun place. Definitely a spot I'd come back to for a casual hangout or social night out.

Social Beer Garden just doesn't do it for me. I've been once or twice years ago and recently…read moredecided to give it another try, hoping for a different experience, but unfortunately I still left unimpressed. To start out, the concept feels like a blend of accents from other popular bars in the area - the hammock chairs from Axelrad, the Adirondack chairs from Truck Yard, and the string light back patio from 8th Wonder. This blend makes it hard to give the bar a true identity. While they do have a large selection of beers on tap, their cocktail menu leaves me feeling lost. I appreciate the attempt to create unique flavor combinations but the options are just...confusing. For example, mezcal with citrus and prickly pear, or a highball with black currant, tequila and apricot. I'm holding on for dear life with all of these ingredients! Going along for the adventure, I tried their pickle cocktail that was on the menu and it was honestly, terrible. While they do have a happy hour that goes until 8pm, the service this last visit just wasn't the best. The server who helped me told me it was his second day and was clearly struggling to keep up with the cocktail combinations, referencing his phone many times while preparing the drink. I ended up not liking this drink and brought it back to the bar with just one sip gone and rather than offering to make me another drink, they kept it on my bill. Ok, whatever. That being said, just before this happened, the couple in front of me went to pay for their bill, prepared drinks in hand, at 8:02pm and the bartender refused to honor the happy hour prices, just two minutes past the official end time. With these two instances, it seems like the priority is maximizing every dollar of profit rather than investing in the customer experience. Given the number of other original concepts in the area, I would pass.

Upon visiting here, it's about the same size as Memorial IMO but still has the same touch and vibes that makes the Memorial location pretty dope. Obviously you're here for drinks, sports, or a combination of the two. There's plenty of parking here and plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. They also live up to the whole "longest bar in Texas" where there is a 100+ foot bar area that stretches. There's plenty of tvs inside and outside so you can find any type of sports you're looking for as you guzzle down your beverages. Speaking of beverages, there's roughly 30+ beers on tap and just about every kind of spirit you can think of. Self-serve water coolers are available when you need to hydrate yourself if you've had one too many drinks. There's also a food truck here for eats with rotations (check the website for the schedule). It's pet friendly as well and they have drink specials every day. Bartenders are pretty attentive; I've never had issues getting a drink here, even when it's gotten slammed for NFL sunday or college football. The company's done a great job with its expansion and dominating space as the largest bar in Texas. Parking was pretty tight on a Sunday NFL game day in December. It was cold, so everyone was packed inside, and the outdoor area only had limited heating lamps (though there's plenty of bench seating). I like the big screen setup and generally enjoy watching games here and at the Memorial and Eastside locations (as long as it's not so crowded that you're fighting for a seat.) There's a mix of bar seating, tables, and large benches outside. The vibe is lively and works well for big groups. A lot of companies host events here, and they're clearly staffed for it.. plenty of bartenders and servers. This location also had some solid drink specials and a happy hour... only 1 food truck on the lot on rotation, so that's the only downside. I do believe you can bring outside food in so that's a plus. Good selection of domestic and import beers on draft, plus some craft cocktails and wine. Most cocktails seem pre-mixed, so I wouldn't order anything too fancy. (I tried out the Fresca cocktail during gameday and it was only $5, a bit sweet not too shabby.. most of the times though I'll stick to their draft selections) Outdoor is also pet friendly. Overall a good place for large gatherings, great when it's not too packed
