I purchased a 2012 Chevy Cruse with 45K miles on 1/20/2020 from Stasek. My salesman, Matt was good. We completed the paperwork and we were to pick the car up the next day after the dealership cleaned and prepared for delivery. My salesman had an emergency and told me a manager(gave me his name but since forgotten). We go to pick up the car meet with manager and takes us to car. We start the car and there is a loud ticking noise from the engine that I did not hear before. Manager says that is just the fuel injectors and even the new cars make that noise. I told him I thought it sounded like a lifter. He assured me there was nothing to worry about. My salesman contacted me the next day and I informed him of the engine noise, engine light would come on and my concerns. We made arrangements for the service dept. to determine if there is a problem. Left the car with them for 3 days. They said they did not hear the noise or the engine did not come on but they replaced the knock sensor. The engine was quieter when I picked up the car. The engine light continues to pop on/off and the engine noise is louder sometimes. I record the engine noise when it was loud. When I take the car in for an oil change, I play the recording of the engine noise. The service manager agrees with me that it sounds like a lifter. He then says that if the car is not making the noise he cannot diagnose the problem. My son takes the vehicle to college and the engine light continues to come on and off but he does not notice the engine noise. I purchased a self diagnosis scanner and got an error message for knock sensor. A knock sensor should last 150K miles. I take the car to Castle Chevrolet. Explain the whole story to them and let them listen to the recorded engine noise. Cut to the chase, the mechanic replaced the lash adjusters(lifters).Results, no engine noise and car runs smoother. Informed Stasek of Castle Chevrolet fixing the car with a copy of the bill and never heard back from them at all. It has been almost a year since purchasing the car and was not expecting full compensation but a percentage of it would have been fair. Bought a truck out the door $85k in December 2020. 5 days after I returned to get the paint protection and undercoating done. Turns out they rear ended someone and didn't tell me. I got a phone call from the cops to come pick up my license plate. Also they put a scratch in it. They kept jerking me around so I finally called Jeremy stasek. He told me come in Monday and come see him he will be in all day. I go in on Monday and he isn't even there. All I get is joe the body shop manager who I've brought the truck back to 3 times to fix the scratch and it's still there and joe from the body shop and joe the accessories guy stopped responding to my phone calls or text messages. It's now been over a year since they have damaged my truck. I live 45 minutes away and have driven there like 6 times from this issue. So In the end I paid $85k for a truck with 2 police reports on it and a scratch in the bed of the truck. Jeremy stasek is the worst owner out there. Doesn't care about his customers at all. All I came here for was an airbag replacement . And I know for a fact I was not having issues til they started to replace the airbag. I then started having a tapping noise which they told me after I called and complained that it's a door for my ac/heat. And for a Pontiac they said it's 450 to be replaced. But then they called the store manager over who said when he pulled out my car the last time I was there that it was like that. I'm sorry but I brought my car to a car place if you hear something is wrong with ones car why would you not recommend me to get it fixed and not let me leave. What a disappointment Bill Stasek Chevy in Wheeling, IL is. Over the last 15-20 years I have brought them between $75,000- $100,000 in car sales. My family alone has purchased several vehicle's and extended family members. I purchased my sons car there used, several years ago. I dropped the car off to have an oil change, find out where an oil leak is coming from, a tire loosing air pressure, the front suspension looked at and a check engine light that was on. I even told Justin my service adviser that it may be time to purchase another used car as this one has been great. I was told a safety inspection would be 1 hour labor, which I agreed to. I get a text (because a phone call is expecting to much) of the issues with the check engine light. They never did any of the other work. After several phone calls just trying to get a hold of Justin, I finally received a call back. He told me about the issued with the check engine light, which I already knew. I asked what about all my other issues and he said that would be an owner pay expense. I said I asked for a safety inspection to make sure my son is safe driving the car as he goes out of state on occasion. That was not done. The oil change that I brought the vehicle in for was not done. The tire that was leaking was not fixed. And the most important thing the front suspension was not looked at. I asked that the oil change and tire be done and I will come pick up the vehicle. When I asked where the oil leak was coming from. He said they did not look at that while it was up in the air doing the oil change. WHY WOULD THEY NOT GO THE EXTRA MILE FOR CUSTOMER SERVICE, WHEN THEY KNEW I MAY PURCHASE ANOTHER VEHICLE FROM THEM. A lot of people ask me where to purchase a replacement vehicle, and I can tell you this. I WILL MAKE SURE TO RECOMEND PEOPLE NOT TO GO THERE! read more

It is important to note that our family bought a car from Stasek about 10 years ago and had a great experience. Unfortunalty, the staff and management at Stasek today is untrained, don't seem to know the product and have no idea of the "special offers" for Veterans promoted on the Stasek website. I went to Stasek because on their website they offer "Additional Savings" for Veterans. While I was there not one person I spoke with knew anything about savings for Veterans. One person told me that they believed the savings only applied when you brought the car in for service. I left the property and about 30 minutes later called to speak to a manager. I was switched from person-to-person 7 times. When I finally talked with a manager he said the staff does not mention the Veteran offers because the Stasek offers are much better (what ever that means). He also said that any discounts "only apply to active duty military or retired veterans." On the website their Additional Savings specifically says "You or a member of your household are a Military Service member or Veteran." As a Veteran I felt that it was a bait-and-switch. read more

Ordered a wheel well kit for my new Chevy Silverado 2500HD from MyChevy.com and had it delivered to Bill Stasek Chevrolet, adding the $40 installation charge to the order-as this seemed reasonable. Received a text and e-mail from the dealership that the part had arrived and I scheduled the appointment out a week for 8:00am on the following Saturday. Informed the service advisor that I was a waiter and after providing my keys, was told to wait in the lobby. After two hours, I went up to the cashier and inquired if completed service tickets come back to the cashier and or does the service advisor come get the customer because I did not witness this over my two hours in the lobby. I was informed by the cashier that I would be wise to seek out my service advisor along the service bay aisle. I did just that. I saw her in behind the glass window of her partition cube BS'ing with another service advisor. I politely waited for several minutes and made sure to make eye contact with me so she knew that I was waiting to talk with her. She continued on in her discussions and I just waited there, now folding my arms across my chest until the gentlemen that she was talking with stated to become self-conscious and strolled away. After busying herself for a few more minutes, she casually strolled out and I asked her the status of my truck, as I did not see it anywhere in their service shop. I was then told that they were having "problems with the installation." This baffled me and I asked as to what the issue was as it appears that the mounting holes were predrilled already from the factory and should be a matter of fitting the covers and securing the mounting hardware. I asked as to how long that she thought it would take? She stated that she didn't know. After another hour and a half goes by, I went up to the cashier and asked her to page my service advisor. She came to the cashier then, visibly agitated, and handed me my keys, telling me where my truck was parked and that she was awaiting a manager to sign off on my job ticket and walked away. I walked away too, into my truck and drove off their lot, never to return again for service. I will look for another service shop close to my home. read more

It's unfortunate that the owners don't feel it necessary to respond or rectify issues with guests who have had a negative experience at this location. I owned the same car for 12 years. After 220,000+ miles it was time to retire my ride and start my search for a car that would hopefully last me the next 10+ years. I walked into Bill Stasek Chevrolet on a Saturday. I had found a car online that I was interested in test driving. The car was advertised with 2 years/24k original factory warranty & 1.9% financing available for 60 months.....AWESOME! My sales person and I came back from the test drive and she could tell I was excited about the car! I knew my credit score could be better and I had brought a co-signer with me that day so we could all talk numbers and see if we could sign some papers. We all (sales person, my co-signer and myself) sat down to discuss payment options and explained that this loan would have myself and a co-signer due to my lower credit score number. We also inquired about the 1.9% financing advertised online for this vehicle (on their own website) to see if that could be an option for us as well. Our sales person was really helpful. My co-signer & I explained the number we were trying to get to for the monthly payment. After going back and forth so many times, the sales manager who was crunching the financing numbers, came over to us. He first began by apologizing and explained that the 1.9% financing advertised for the vehicle I drove and wanted to purchase was actually a 'mis-print'. He explained that they had been having issues with their internet advertising and the 1.9% wasn't supposed to be applied to that vehicle. We all collectively had a conversation about how we could get to our desired monthly payment goal. The gentleman said because of their mistake he would try and get us qualified for the 1.9% or as close to that rate as possible. He inquired about my co-signer's estimated credit score. The number was high enough to qualify for the 1.9% financing he said and said if we put another $500 down towards the price of the car that day then we could hit our desired monthly payment goal! I was SO excited! I was going to get a new car with a great warranty at a great price and work on repairing my credit. I put $500 down on Saturday and discussed coming back on Monday to sign the paperwork and pick up new car!!! We all agreed that Monday would be a good day and I spent the weekend telling everyone about my new car! (Remember, I owned the same car for the last 12 years) Called the dealership ahead of time to make an appointment so we ( my co-signer and I) weren't interrupting anyone and could have someone available to answer all of our questions. We arrived and got all of the paperwork started. We sat around for about an hour waiting for financing to draw up the paperwork when my co-signer eventually had to leave and go back to work. Finance agreed to let me stay and sign while she could come back tomorrow to finish with her signatures. Not long after my co-signer left, a different finance manager than the man we dealt with on Saturday sat me down and said unfortunately there's no way he can get the deal we were quoted on Saturday, less than 48 hours prior... WHAT?!?!? He said he couldn't get the 1.9% rate and that I should have been more clear about my credit score which was the cause of the failed deal. I explained that no one even inquired about my credit score on Saturday when discussing the 1.9% financing option or explained that it was a disqualifier for the rate but, they were happy to take my $500 on Saturday to secure a deal that was never going to happen.. What the heck was going on?? I walked out of the dealership on Saturday with a receipt for $500 down and a monthly payment number written on a piece of paper from the man who helped us with financing that day only to find out less than 48 hours later that they weren't interested in backing up their employee who may have made a mistake. It left a sour taste in my mouth. I've been in hotel & restaurant management for 15+ years and have had to support and rectify a lot of situations where my employees had made a mistake or mis-quoted someone. I couldn't believe that this huge dealership wasn't willing to support it's employee's mistake for the sake of customer service and the dealership's reputation. Not only that but, no one ever apologized to me for the mistake and continued to outright blame me to my face saying it was my fault for not being clear about my credit score.....wow.... I mean I had my co-signer there with me everytime we went to the dealership and my credit score wasn't a concern on Saturday when they wanted to take my $500 and make a sale.. To make up for their 'mistake', they offered me a mediocre discount on an extended warranty. They NEVER apologized. read more

My family went to this dealer to purchase a new car and trade in our old. The owner, manager, and salesman were dishonest. Dishonest to the point of bold face lying. 4 1/2 hours and they were unable to do basic arithmetic and where disorganized. We never test drove or anything. Ridiculous. It was as if they had never sold a car before and knew nothing about the new car we wanted to buy. On our trade-in, a newer sports car, they claimed a $500 hit because of the mismatched tires. What? When we asked them to show us the mismatch, they quickly backtracked and stated "ohhh, I thought they were different." There were several other items like that where they said something, we called them out an then they backtracked. Save your time and money and GO SOMWHERE ELSE!! P.S. DO NOT COME HERE FOR SERVICE!! My husband took his Chevy truck here to fix the engine coolant and thermostat, it was a huge rip off!! Charged almost $100 for a part that you can buy for $15 in Napa, the mechanic apparently left a tool hanging on the brake line which my husband got to take off of himself (good thing it didn't get caught while we were driving and cut the line!). The coolant still leaks after the job and my husband came back on a Saturday to ask them to fix it. They said yes and said they'll call him back when it's ready. No one called, so we called back later that day only to find out that they had not done anything to it and the service dept already closed. I chewed them out saying that we needed the truck back for my husband to go to work on Monday and the person said "well, we cannot release a vehicle without any payment.." WTF, why do we have to pay for something that was not done?? We came down there and finally the manager got things sorted out and we could get the truck back untouched. Never come back here again, we will just take it to the shop down the street which is much more honest and reliable. BIG RIP OFF!!! read more

I call Mike Malloy, my sales rep, and scheduled a time to come in and take care of the problem. Well, they offered to give me a keyless entry with remote start, so, I asked "OK, how much will this cost me?" Bill, yes the owner, said "Nothing." I was amazed and of course agreed. They even gave me a car to use, since it would not be finished until the next day. I was treated like I purchased a $50,000 car, but I really bought a $5000 used vehicle. When I lived in Wheeling, I used to take my car for service here, however, that didn't last long. Won't get into it here, however, let's just say that "problems" they found didn't seem to exist when I took it to my new shop. I recently needed to sell my car (financial distress). I took it here, simply due to convenience (so I thought). I was, of course, given a low-ball offer for my car, HOWEVER, they told me that if I did a few things, that they would honor a different number - higher of course. So, I did those things they wanted me to do (I did EXACTLY what they asked), went in the next day, and subsequently was told "sorry - we're still only going to give you offer #1". A complete waste of my time, gas, etc. I question the integrity of any business that simply doesn't respect its customers enough to do the right thing by following through with a commitment that they made. They called her every day for a week to get her to drive 65 miles to see the one she was looking at in the show. Called her even the morning that she drove to the dealer. She gets there and they said the car sold 4 days earlier but had others to show her. Caught them in several lies and all (especially Crystal) acted very unprofessional. The purchase: May 2013 I was going to purchase another car when I went on line and spotted this black beauty. I sent an email asking what the special Internet price is. Received a quick response and to my surprise it was not much more than the used one I was looking at. This was brand new. I called and was speaking to Bob Clegg the salesman and explained what I was looking for. He went one step further and asked what info I had on the used car I was looking at. He ran the car-fax report and gave me info on the other car. So I made the trip to Wheeling to see what Bob has for me. Once I walked in and seen the car, my bugs bunny check book was out. We sat down and discussed some details and poof I was the owner of a brand new Corvette. Once I finished up all the paperwork. Bob was prepping the car for delivery. We went back to his desk and he had the owners manual out and had marked certain pages that would be for quick review. Bob explained all the details and is very knowledgeable about Corvettes. Once outside he walked through all the options and general items on the car, Set up the on star, pre set radio to my favorites, And a nice overall of the car and things to look out for. He even did a video of the delivery before I drove off. This was one of the best experiences I have had in purchasing a car. I turned 50 and bought my dream car. If your looking for a Corvette Bob Clegg is the man to see. Service: October 2013 Well with a Corvette come winter time it needs to be parked. So I called and made an appointment for an oil change to get ready before I store the car for the winter. I arrived and asked for Dave in service. I showed him the coupon I had received and he said this was an error. I was not in the mood to argue, so he offered a discount. Free verses discount. In my head I'm thinking screw you but I said ok that's fine. So as am I wandering about waiting. Dave comes up and says he showed the letter to the owner and he said we made an error but we will honor it. Its FREE again. No need to write a letter to Chevy. He apologized for any inconvenience and said the car will be ready shortly. Oil change and a special hand wash. Well shortly was a bit long but I was ok. Things finish up I got my free oil change and a sparkling clean car. Even with delays Dave would come find me and let me know the status, great service! Bought a used vehicle here in May and now I'm stuck with a decision that I regret. I got my used crossover with bad breaks and tie rods, crappy wipers, and no floor mats. I complained and they took my car in for service. They were nice enough to give me a loaner... for the 5 day wait to get my vehicle back. And I had to pay the deductible to fix the car. Not worth the headache and I'm hoping that I will have better luck with my "new" used car. At least I have a safer car to drive around in. I sure do miss my roller skate of a scion. My husband and I went in after a horrid experience at Rachenbach, our salesman was Mark Wassermen...I have never met a salesman like him. He was so kind an respectful and not pushy. We barely had to bargain with them because they had sent us the wrong price (much lower than they intended to sell it for) but they honored the price they had quoted in the email. OK I did not buy a car from them but I can tell you their Service Dept. gets a 5 from me. The keys to our Chevy S10 Pickup got locked inside we live in Elgin but the truck was in Northbrook. I had the key code to make a new key, called them Anthony in service was so nice and helpful, they made a key delivered it to the truck and now my son is already on his way home for my birthday dinner. Would give this place ZERO stars if that was an option. We bought a used car and were treated like 2nd rate citizens. We took 15 minutes to negotiate the price (which was great), but almost two hours to see the finance person. We were told 2 customers were in front of us, while they took customer after customer in front of us because they had bought new cars. 10 minutes before closing, the finance person rushed us through a ridiculous finance rate. He assured us it was the lowest he could get. 5 minutes later, a lower rate came in. We were told the car had a brand new radio installed and we were even shown paperwork that illustrated this. The salesperson used it as a selling point, 'It even has a brand new radio." Driving home, we tried the radio and of course it doesn't work. I call to bring it in, and explain the situation. I was told to bring it in and had an appointment. When I got there, they had no clue I was coming, and now they tell me I bought the car "As is" and they can't fix it. Okay- I get that, but don't have your salesperson point out that the radio is brand new. Perhaps he should have said, "It's brand new but doesn't work." Ridiculous. I waited almost an hour and got a loaner car, only to be told two days later they can't fix it. Overall awful customer service. I do not recommend this place - especially for buying a used car. read more

I'm not giving one star because I've been coming here for 5 years and have always had good experiences, but this is definitely a 1 star review! I've been so pleased with past results that I actually bought a car from them just last week. My sales woman was outstanding. I was very happy with the process. I scheduled an appointment to have my windows tinted, all-weather floor mats put in along with the environmental protection package. I go to drop off the car for the service and no one is aware that I already have a set appointment. I wasn't even going to get a loaner; I had to fight for it. (FYI individuals who buy cars from Stasek are told they will always get a loaner when needed.) So I pick up the car today and all 5 of the windows have bubbles in them. I'm told I will be called tomorrow to set up yet another appointment for me to bring it back in for them to fix it. No one there seems to speak to each other, because no one is on the same page. I had Chaz call me and he didn't even realize that I had taken the car home with me. He also thought that there was only one window that had bubbles when in fact it was all five. He then called back stating that the bubbles were just water bubbles and would go away in a few days. He'd not even looked at the car! There was some excuse about the floor mats, but if I hadn't thoroughly checked the car out myself, none of this would have been addressed. I had to go back into the shop and let them know what was wrong. I'm extremely disappointed and dissatisfied by this experiences. Am I being treated like I'm dumb because I'm a woman? Stasek Chevrolet Service dropped the ball big time today. Had appointment this aft for Factory Service Recall for our Impala . Drive all the way to dealership only to be told "sorry-we don't have any more of the parts in stock". WTF! Than they had the gall to ask if we still wanted oil changed. NOT! On top of that, they sandwiched our car between 6 others and we had to leave our son behind to drive car home once they were able to clear the log jam. NOT a happy camper! read more

I was there last week to purchase a corvette my salesman gave me a complete run around going back and forth with documents to prove my income ,resident,etc..(maybe because i am African american) in the end he told me the car i was looking at had transmissions issues and could not sell me the car i asked him are they going to fix it?? he said no they just going to sell it to a auction or whatever the case may be come to find out he sold the car this week to another buyer WTF??? i will never ever go there again and will make sure i let everyone i know my experience. read more

Gosh! If only I could give them negative stars I would. Took my car in to get the front of my Nissan fixed since I had gotten into a car crash and not only did they take FOREVER!!!! But the job that was done was the WORST! They took about 2 months and every time I would call there excuse was "waiting on the parts". There job was so poor that the idiots forgot to change the VIN number on the dash. They were just a disappointment! Will never go here for anything! I would save your time & money!!! read more

This is the closest dealer to my home so I brought my suburban in for an oil change - took about 45 minutes so that was fine - but the bill was staggering! Neighborhood of $150 for a synthetic oil change - ridiculous. The lady in the billing dept was helpful and gave me some coupons to bring the cost down - but never trusted them again. Now I am checking Yelp for someone to do my warranty service work. read more
