It is always very busy, but we waited a total of three minutes to sit and our food came very quickly as well. Good breakfast food with variety. You can get your traditional meals and then specialty items like Crab Benedict, Salmon Benedict, or Mexican Benedict. Everyone in our party enjoyed their meal. It is loud from the business of the restaurant, but not like the other location that is due to the bar like scene before noon...Left after a good breakfast with a full belly, but not the head ache experience at the Willow Glen location. read more

Unsure why this place gets such high ratings for their eggs benedict. My beau had the Smoked Salmon Benedict which came on a bagel with red onions. The hollandaise sauce was super yellow and bland. Eggs were a bit over done. I agree with another reviewer who said it's good as a diner-style Eggs Bene. Hash browns and our waiter were good, though. Not worth the drive from Sunnyvale so we will just stick with Eggs Bene from Country Gourmet American Bistro in Sunnyvale, which is GOOD. read more

The food is reliably good however the service is just as reliably poor. We prefer to go to the location on The Alameda to be seated fairly quickly and get the same great food. The Bascom location just doesn't stand up to the other Bill's location. read more

My girlfriend and I went to Bill's Cafe on Bascom yesterday about 2:30 PM. When we sat, we saw a worker sweeping the floor, which was a good thing. I have never seen a more filthy floor. The seats also looked like they wer not wiped off. Food and crumbs were still on the seats. (Watch where you sit!) Well we ordered anyway. The food was good, but, I felt, overpriced. The service also was good. The music was Hard Rock, inappropriate for the place. At the end of our meal we heard Mexican music blasting from the kitchen area, again inappropriate. I went with a friend today for breakfast. We arrived early to avoid having to wait to be served but on the way another friend called us and ask us to meet him there. Wet arrived and we were told to wait until our party was all present. When my other friend arrived there were no more tables and we were asked to wait until a table opened up. It turns out we waited for a while until we decided to go somewhere else. I find that attitude very rude and I am not coming back to that restaurant. They weren't even apologetic for the fact we had to wait even though we arrived early. I will tell all my friends to stay away from this restaurant read more

On thursday, I read the article review in the mercury news about Bills cafe. Even though the place was packed on Saturday, the wait was no longer than 15min. People were lined up outside but as mentioned in the article there was plenty of coffee to go around. The food was resonably price. I had the petaluma scramble and my boyfriend had the breadpudding breakfast. I was very impress. My egg were fluffy and still hot and the breadpudding was very tastefull but super rich. My family and I go here on Sundays before 9 am. They have a great menu, with a lot of variety for everyone. My all time favorite is the Gorgonzola Scramble with Muschrooms and Spinach. I also get their mimosas, which are HUGE! It comes with fruit inside. Service is fast and efficient too which is a plus because I have 2 young kids who get antsy. read more

Anyway, I love the place. They seem to try to carry as much local items as possible. I was delighted to find out that they serve Cartel Coffee, which is seriously the best coffee you will get in the area. Like many reviews have noted, the bread is fantastic. I particularly enjoy the Omlet . Ugh..I'm salivating like a Pavlovian dog just thinking about it. I like to go with a book and read outside in the few weeks in the valley that it's temperate to do such a thing. The ambiance of the place is hip and comfortable. I will definitely be back again because the coffee is really good (no longer cartel but also a local brand, expressions), service is excellent and food is well prepared. I don't know what kind of service the other people here received but we had a very good server who kept coming back to refill our coffee. I did see that the table next to us with a different server were visibly displeased when their server was too busy running around to refill their coffees often enough. Also the server did come over and apologize to them, when we got our food before them, though we got in behind them. I guess you can't control the kitchen and maybe the server was a little younger than our server, thus might have appeared a little more rushed, but I dun recall him being rude or away for too long. I own a business and am very disappointed that management here does not believe in customer service and taking care of the customers. The server that helped us was very sincere and apologetic, but the manager which was a Spanish lady did not even try to solve the problem. Probably the last time I'll be coming here. Came here for brunch....it was actually really nice, I've been to other Bill's Cafe and my experience has been just ok mostly due to long wait times for a table. But I went here and it wasn't too bad food was good and I got seated relatively fast. The staff was friendly they came every now and then and asked if we wanted anything else or more water. we called in a reservation, but there didn't seem to be any reason to do so. when we arrived, they noted us on the list, but several other people went in before us. the place was packed, but the wait wasn't too long, about 15 minutes. my food sounded delicious, but it was just ok. i ordered the french omelet. it included sun-dried tomatoes, mushrooms, basil. topped with chevre and avocado. better was the oatmeal honey pancakes. the pancakes were huge, the size of the plate. the short stack, two, would have been enough, but we got the other option with 3. my sister got the carnitas benedict. instead of hollandaise sauce, it had salsa. she loved it. i would definitely come again. read more

I usually like bill's cafe, but I came in disappointed today. My friends and I were barely seated and our coffee were served. Upon taking a sip I see an ant!!! I definitely prefer this location over the one at downtown Willow Glen. It's a bit of a tamer crowd, less bros and posers. Just your typical hang out for adults! The staff is friendly and attentive. Okay since my last visit to Bill's I had to go on a diet. I mean seriously, bread pudding french toast? Absolutely ass fattening. So this time I went back to Bill's with a challenge. What could I eat off the menu that wouldn't break my diet budget of 300 calories? Bill's is not known for diet food, not one bit. But besides have a large selection of salads which could be healthy with a little editing, they have a whole section of omelettes which can be ordered using egg whites only. Good food. Good service. TOO popular :( Bill's is a breakfast/lunch spot. Basic menu, traditional American. It does serve alcohol, but is NOT a bar, more a Bloody Mary/Mimosa set-up. Food is good, service is quick. Ask for something in a specified way, be it crisp bacon or extra brown or extra light toast and it is served that way. Coffee cups don't run dry. Hamburgers are good (classic diner style). Limited outside seating, more to get more seating space than anything else, streets ae pretty busy and a bit loud. SMALL parking lot. Has an arrangement with the Zanatto's across the street so you can use that lot, but then have to cross over Forest Ave (four lanes, busy). Only other down side iis that it is simply too popular! Hard to get a table anytime after 8:00, even on a week day (Weekend, I won't even try after around 7:45). Not the place to go if you slept in, at all. If you either are early enough, or don't mind waiting, you will be happy with your choice. read more

DELICIOUS as always!!!!! The orange juice is freshly squeezed daily. Their bloody Mary's are the perfect cure after a long night out. I've had such amazing food from Bill's! This place has such good fresh food and some fun different options on the menu. All of the "benedictions" that I've had were so good and we always have great service as well. This is definitely the go-to breakfast spot, just make sure to get there early. There are 3 Bills cafes in a 2 mile radius - all of them are always crowded on weekends and holidays. I've been there multiple times, but this would be my first review. They have wonderful eggs Benedict with Crab cakes and country potatoes. I've had them 3 times so far and looks like I will have only this the next time as well. The country potatoes are amazing as well. My wife had the hash-brown skillet - which was just so-so; I am sure she will not order it again ever. The price is on the higher side - but guess people don't mind paying it given the crowds. They only serve breakfast and lunch. I would definitely recommend this place. read more

Love coming here for breakfast! My favorite dish is the crab Benedict's. Its consistently good and they cook the poached eggs perfectly. My husband likes getting the Mexican dishes with carnitas. They also do really good pancakes they're light and fluffy. Customer service is friendly and it's always packed so keep in mind you will be waiting in line but it does go by quick. Meh. Came here one morning but it was almost 11 so i decided to order a lunch-type meal. I got the BBQ something burger. It was alright. Should of order something for breakfast though. I was eating the fries first and when I started on the burger, it was pretty dry. The bacon was awful and it was pretty hard to eat. I went through like 4 glasses of water. So this place is simpy "A-OK" Must try something for breakfast next time because the breakfast dishes did look good. read more

For our first visit at Bill's at Naglee, we were sorely disappointed which means it'll be our last. The coffee was lukewarm, the eggs cold. The chicken fried steak was poor - didn't have the crunchy coat I expected and the beef needed more tenderizing. The biscuit - they need to take a lesson from the Bob Evans chain back east. The gravy was bland. The server never returned after delivering our meal other than to give us our check. Obviously wasn't concerned with our satisfaction. My wife and I ordered the Bill's Burger for lunch. I bit into the bread and cut into the roof of my mouth and made me bleed. Obviously something was wrong but no one caught it. The bread, patty, bacon were all over-cooked and seemed like they were under a heat lamp for an hour.(no exaggeration). I then paid the bill because I am not the type of person to complain and ask for my money back but I did bring it to the attention to the waitress on the way out and she told me with slight attitude, "Well, you should have said something, we would have replaced the BREAD." at this point she walked away and I tore up the tip receipt because I was made aware, it was MY fault. I was assured by them that all food was made fresh. Even food that was NOT made at that moment was more fresh than what was served to me. People just be aware the BILL'S special BURGER. Updated review: Years have passed, and it's still one of my favorite spots in the area. Nothing beats Bill's huge mimosas and delicious breakfasts. Their pancakes are sooo yummy. I usually get a bacado omelette with a pancake instead of toast. Love the locations on Bascom and on the Alameda. Weekend breakfast wait times can be long, so be prepared to put your name on the list and grab a mimosa while you wait. read more

Very nice breakfast at the Bascom Ave Bill's cafe! There were long queues, and despite the fact they were very busy they were obliging to us and accommodated us at an outside table convenient for our disabled friend who is in the late stages of cancer. If she is still able to get out of the house we will bring her again. And, and the food was delicious. We all had omlettes, which came with toast and potatoes. read more

The focus seems to be on speed, which is not a bad thing for most people. Staff was professional. So... it's the food. Country potatoes were so large one needs a knife and fork to cut them into manageable sizes (i.e. country potato size). And it made for a lot of mouthfuls of unseasoned plain boiled potato. Corn beef hash is served in a thick, puck form so there isn't much flavor/browning from the griddle--kinda tastes like it was steamed in the can. Over easy eggs were over medium. They were browned, obvious indication of over cooked eggs from a hot stove. Recommended with hesitation. read more
