We got prompt service when we first arrived. The malts were good! The hamburger was not the best quality of beef and lacked flavor. The fries were not very tasty. The onion rings were overdone and had such thin onions inside that they had dried up during the cooking process. Everything was way over priced. To spend $50 on 2 hamburgers, 2 sides, and 2 shakes is a bit much especially given the quality of the food. read more

This was suggested by hotel employees as the place to go. We ordered chili dogs and fries and of course milkshakes. My kids enjoyed the "real" cherry & vanilla Cokes. Yum!! Simple, but delicious! This is a "cup" if you were in the northeast, but in Branson, it is a Dairyland. They have hotdogs, hamburgers, fries, onion rings, a few other items, and ice cream. The beef, again, in and around the Midwest, was fantastic quality and taste. The hotdog was good too! I haven't eaten onion rings in a long time because I hate when the onion pulls out and they've been greasy, but my husband and I shared a side of them here and they were great! The onion didn't slide out when you bit into it and flavor of the batter was very good. The dessert is very good too! We had a chocolate shake made with vanilla ice cream (black and white) that was a great size for the price and delicious. The place is small, but there is a quick turnaround on the tables. High quality burgers and excellent hot dogs. We wandered down the strip looking for a lunch choice that wasn't the same-old and I spotted a full parking lot in front of Billy Bob's. We were sold. (I didn't Yelp because my phone wasn't working right.) A short wait for a table because the place was full. Another good sign. While we waited, we had a chance to watch the grill cook at work and also the ladies working the shake making appliances. We knew then that a shake would be consumed. I let my wife order the cheeseburger (with all the fixings) while I decided to go light with a foot long chili cheese dog. With onions. We also got a raspberry shake to share. I say "share" loosely because every sip I took was risking my life as my wife looked daggers at me. The burger was perfectly cooked and surprisingly managed to stay together while it was consumed. Excellent beef and melted cheese and tomato and onion and pickle. The hot dog was also perfect, on a toasted bun with enough sharp onions that I'm sure my breath could melt paint at 10 yards. Did I forget to mention that we also ordered onion rings on the side? This was the only part of the meal that wasn't absolutely perfect. The rings were nice and crunchy on the outside, but the inside was still a bit mushy and rather greasy. But the fries? The fries were excellent. Five stars. As good as it gets! Great service! Environment was definitely family friendly and felt family owned! The hamburgers were HUGE! The patties seemed hand pattied and everything was cooked to perfection. 1st time eating at this restaurant with my husband and son. The layout is a small retro diner outfitted with autographs of celebrities who've eaten there, and 50s/60s memorabilia. We came on a Sunday afternoon and were seated right away. The menu is limited to burgers, a patty melt and chicken tender/chicken sandwiches, and side items. I ordered the patty melt & sweet potato fries, my husband ordered foot long hotdog with fries, and we ordered hotdog for our child. In addition, my son & husband ordered a vanilla shake and orange freeze shake. My patty melt was tasty. However, the sweet potatoes, fries and shakes were meh. I think the only reason this place still exist because of Billy Bob celebrity name! As for our server, she was hardly cordial. The brownie hot fudge sundae could serve three and was scrumptious; the fried pie with ice cream was super ( a dozen or more flavors of fried pie) ; chocolate malt shake reminded me of the past; hand dipped ice cream was oversized dips. Just a good old fashion cheeseburger. Nothing fancy but it was delicious. Remember their normal burger is 1/2 pound so if you order a double, it will be a full pound.
