This place is incredible. I have been to Branson one too many times without coming here. We stopped in as soon as they opened yesterday and the service, prices, portion sizes and menu options did not disappoint. I got a single cheeseburger (it's half a pound- like enormous) with sweet potato fries. Normally that would be great- but they're sweet pot fries come with marshmallow and caramel dip- GAME CHANGER. Both so good and I absolutely love salty/sweet- so this is a favorite combo. My fiancé got the double cheeseburger with onion rings and raved. We also got a hot fudge malt and it was enormous and so darn good. Last but not least, yes we ate more, we got the cherry fried pie with vanilla ice cream and it was amazing. It definitely was hotter than hades from being fried but it did not disappoint. They take cash only so be prepared- highly worth it. Favorite place in Branson to grab burgers and milkshakes. Good burger. Great tots. Fed 4 people for $26. That's half what we spent elsewhere for breakfast super adorable 50's decor and music. Chocolate malts were delish! Update: still the only place on the strip that we've found for a good meal! Even with the price increase (since Covid) it's still one of the more reasonable priced restaurants. I have been meaning to leave a review since July and kept forgetting until today. I go to Branson frequently and decided to try Billy Bobs for the first time in July. I tell you what....it was a pure delight. All week, we got some pretty bad food...even at the Buffet, but the hamburger we got from Billy Bob's was delicious. And most of all, the excellent service. The wait staff were great and so very kind and attentive. Almost too attentive...couldn't drop a crumb without them wiping it up (almost though they were going to wipe the mustard off my chin) :). The husband and wife that owned the cafe were on the ball. The waitress didn't even give us a ticket, the owners wife knew exactly what ticket was ours. And she even took the time to come over to our table, greet us, ask about our vacation and make us feel welcome. This is a treasured gem. Me and my wife have decided we will never go to Branson again without eating at Billy Bobs. Thank you all. God Bless. read more

The food portions are pretty small, except the burger and sundaes BUT very good! The atmosphere was amazing. Nice little Hamburger place. It's really small and close together. Service is very friendly and place super clean. All decorated with snow flakes hanging from ceiling. Good music playing and just a good atmosphere. We ordered the polish dog with sauerkraut to share and then I ordered a bacon cheeseburger. First the polish dog was very good! Hamburger was ok but patty way to thick and not alot of flavor. I prefer a thin one and I requested no mayo and grilled onions. Came out mayo with soggy mushy onions. Fries, good. Ok..... cute little burger shack and they are playing some good music indoors..... but it's really about the food..... So I started with a strawberry malt and they can make it good! Just the right amount of malt and strawberries and not to sugary! Their burger is a decent size and you could easily avoid the double... man I'd feel bad if you got a double... you wouldn't be able to function I promise... single patty and always w cheese. Went here just cuz we wanted a burger and Billy Bob's seemed like a fun name. WOW! The best burger I've ever had! My husband and I wanted to split a burger and ordered a double...thinking their burgers would be like fast food burgers. Nope. The meat was fat and delicious and a half of a Billy Bob burger was more filling than a fast food regular burger. The ambience is 50's and it's small, but food came out quickly. We all ordered the cheeseburger with tater tots. I almost ordered the double cheeseburger but after seeing it at the next table, I am so glad I didn't, it was huge! I like the meat to bun ratio at this place, lots of meat with just enough bun! The tots, IMO, are the best I have ever had. Everyone was friendly and the service was quick! For the amount of food and the wait time, I would not not pay their prices again. The food is not $80 good! We had three kids and three adults (two chicken sandwiches, two cheese burgers, two patty melts and two soft drinks, two waters and two teas. The tots were way over cooked and grease logged. The grilled chicken sandwich was nothing to write home to mom about. This place wasn't bad which is why it got three stars but the price-amount of food ratio-OUCH! My family and I visited Billy Bob's for our last Branson getaway. My girls were craving a good chocolate shake and I wanted to stay away from the big chains. After noticing all the solid reviews we chose Billy Bob's. Like most places in Branson the exterior is that silly hokey 50s diner look. Inside follows the trend and we spent little time waiting. We chose to go off peak hours to minimize our wait. Service was friendly and prompt and we got our food fairly quickly. Burgers and fries were solid and good. Now for the star.... The SHAKES!!! I haven't seen the girls' eyes turn so saucer like in long time. It was fun and we all enjoyed it. We were too busy enjoying myself for me to think of taking any photos, but it looks like everyone else reviewing has you covered. This is a nice little throwback diner that is better than an average burger at a fast food chain or even a chain restaurant. I was disappointed in the cheeseburger after reading some of the reviews. It is a CASH ONLY restaurant so keep that in mind and bring money unless you're willing to pay the extra $3.50 ATM fee that they have on site. A cheeseburger with fries is about $11. The cheeseburger is a nice size but you have to be careful with a thicker burger not to dry it out and that's exactly what happened to everyone in my group. If you need condiments to be able to swallow it, it is overcooked. Also the meat was completely tasteless other than grease. Salt and pepper/ketchup and mustard are on the table and they are needed. The fries are a hard pass. Do yourself a favor and skip the fries. They are some of the worst I've ever had. Frozen pale generic tasteless fries. The atmosphere is great! Vintage and fun with a local feel to it. It isn't a bad place, it just isn't everything the reviews make it out to be. If you have a local dairy bar where you live, they probably make a burger just as good if not better than this place. read more

You cannot go wrong with anything you order, but the burgers are the main attraction. I have recapped some highlight/must haves below to make the decision on what to order a little easier. Cheeseburger: The double is huge. The bun is crisp and buttery on the edges, while the cheese will ooze with every bite. The burger is hand patted and is cooked to perfection. Chili cheese dog: You will want the footlong and extra chili. It is life changing and yummy in everyway. The fries and onion rings: never soggy, or over crisp. Just right. The fried pies: any flavor, any time- order one....or two....3,4,5.... Their malts are amazing alongside that cheeseburger. Banana, and chocolate are my choices. The taste of home! Billy Bob's is the epitome of midwestern hospitality. The welcoming atmosphere and comfort food make it the perfect stop on a busy midwestern vacation. The food is typical burgers and fries, but made with lots of love. All the people in my party were very happy with their choices and would definitely recommend anything we ordered. Wow... just wow! First of, this place really lived up to the hype! It's called dairyland for a reason. The shakes... oh my... I'm just gonna go out on a limb and say this - they have THE BEST SHAKES I've ever had. Hands down. My kids (8 and 12) each had the double cheeseburger. It's seriously THICK patties. My boys chowed it all down. I had the footlong chili hotdog and that chili is amazing! We sat at the bar facing the kitchen so we're seeing the action happen. Two cooks making all those food for all the people (it was packed when we got in at 11 am). It's a very well-run place. The servers and owners were extremely nice. There's a nice local family feel to this place. One more thing. The whole place is CLEAN. I'm one of those that critic a place based on the cleanliness of the floors (in the general area, kitchen, and bathrooms). They checked the box on 5-star cleanliness. Small place with a fifties theme. This was probably the best burger we've had in Branson and got our repeat business. They make great shakes and malts with flavors you don't usually see. I was hesitant at first because the outside doesn't "grab" you. It looks pretty basic amongst all of the other flair within Branson the strip. My boys convinced me to give it a try for various reason - 1) the dollar amount was listed with one $; 2) the reviews were fantastic; and 3) "always eat local, dad - not chains!" Let me say this - this is not only one of the BEST burgers I've ever eaten, but everything about this place ROCKED! It's a full pound burger, so you won't leave hungry. One of my sons got the foot long chili cheese coney ("Nathan's!"), and it was also the best I've ever had. The onion rings were solid, and the tots were good as well. BUT THOSE SHAKES... Wow! Easily the best I've ever had. The strawberry was perfect consistency of flavor, fruit and thickness. The peanut butter chocolate malt was so good that everybody else got one. I tried voting (thebestofbranson.com) for their shakes and coneys, but the restaurant wasn't listed. Feeding five people got the price a little higher than one $ (I'd say two $$), but the experience was worth it. The 50's atmosphere and the servers just topped it off. Incredibly friendly. But then the "manager" and 70 something year old lady came to serve us our food and it was wrong, which is totally fixable, it wasn't that big of a deal and then she began arguing with me. I really thought about slapping her. She needed it. If it wasn't for her, I would have given 5 stars. Then I heard her arguing with another group of people because one person in the party had a food allergy which apparently made her mad. I'm not sure why she is the manager.
