We've been coming here regularly for at least once a week, for the past few months. We appreciated the late hours and decent food. However, after today's experience, we won't be returning. We sat in the bar making small talk with the staff, and I genuinely believe we were taken advantage of for being polite and easygoing at first. After nearly an hour and a half, we had to keep asking about our food which was a simple order of a club sandwich and tacos. When it finally came out, the order wasn't even correct. We were then told they had run out of tacos and decided to bring something else without even asking us. We honestly thought it was a joke. It's clearly obvious this place has issues, from running out of basic condiments, lack of ingredients to make a simple drink, etc. Needless to say with the delivery and communication we will not be returning for quite some time. read more

We ate here twice during our stay at Lake Arrowhead Resort. They get three stars because the food was good and the people were nice. But to be honest, it's not a great dining experience. We first went for happy hour. Got a cocktail, wings, and the Cali cheese plate. Cocktail was fine. Wings were tasty but didn't come with any ranch or bleu cheese. Had to track down a server to get some and it came in a tiny metal pitcher so you couldn't actually dip the wings. The description of the cheese plate said it came with cheeses, fruit, nuts, spreads, and grilled sourdough bread. The plate that came out looked beautiful and had tons of cheese - no nuts, no spreads, no breads. Just like 10 crackers. Also had to track someone down to fix that after like 20 minutes. Also went for dinner. Again, food was good. The maple smoked old fashioned was delicious. Cobb Salad was fine (needed some kind of acidity) and the chicken club was really good with a very garlicky aioli that was delicious. But from when we ordered to when the food arrived nobody came by. We needed more water, I wanted another delicious old fashioned, but nothing. Finally the manager came with just the sandwich and an extra plate. We had to flag down a different server to ask about the salad. Our server finally showed up with the salad a few minutes later. I had also asked for another old fashioned, but they brought me a kind of mixed-up version. It came out with the smoke, but no cinnamon stick and instead of an orange peel it had both an orange wedge and lemon wedge? No maple at all. I honestly think they got partway through a normal old fashioned before remembering so, instead of re-making it, they just added the smoke and called it a day like I wouldn't notice. We ate food from or at this place 4 times. We dined in for breakfast twice and ordered take out twice. Dining in: we went to breakfast 2 days in row. First day (5/15/24)it was empty, the food was out fast and it was good and hot. I did realize too late though that I was missing the avocado and cotija on my chilaquiles, bummer because it's a simple meal. I still enjoyed it, just not as much really. I thought the pancakes were good but my four year old is picky so he did not! Second day (5/16/24): disappointing. So, they had the county business of SB there and they were coming in earlier than I think management anticipated because they only had 1 server for this huge party coming in. That's not good. She was nice but clearly stressed as this larger party trickled in My husband and I were both servers in college- we didn't want to complain because we know it can be overwhelming. We also didn't have time for a do-over. Hubby and I ordered the exact same thing as the day prior. I asked that the cotija and avocado be on the side this time since it was missing the day before. Our food took so much longer and came out cold- we wanted eggs over medium and they were cooked through- all six of them. The photos are from the first breakfast we ate there. This second time, my chilaquiles were soggy, cold and missing the crema. My husband did not order eggs with the side of biscuits and gravy but got two placed on top- would've been good but not what we ordered and cold, cooked though eggs. Even the gravy was a different color. More white on day 2. We ordered French toast and eggs for our son, that was good, but the scrambled eggs were cold. Honestly, they seemed too preoccupied and underprepared for their conference guests. Bummer for us because we got the short end of the stick there. Take out day 1: we had a burger, grilled cheese, chicken sandwich, fries. Burger was a bit too much for us with the garlic aoli and not cooked as my husband asked (med rare, cooked well). The chicken sandwich was way too fried and over battered for me, less is more when it comes to grease! As for the grilled cheese, sadly cooked with too much burnt butter. My son would not eat it. Take out day 2: we got chicken wings and a kids quesadilla. Chicken wings were a little chewy, but ok. They did not give us dipping sauce (an absolutely must friends) so we had to go back and ask. The kid's quesadilla was exactly what we needed for a 4 year old. Cooked soft and cheesy. It's a beautiful setting, you can see the lake from the window and enjoy being in the trees, but the service and consistency on quality of the food is missing. Again, a great menu that looks promising but the delivery needs work. Hope to try again! read more

I've had the salmon 3 times and every time it was charred super dry even though I asked for medium . our server was very short with us when we asked for more bread she said "I don't have any bread right now." The table next to us had a chair that was all torn up, it does not belong in an establishment like this... the management should pay closer attention to details read more

During our last stay, we had breakfast here and it was honestly just okay. I remember loving this place when we visited years ago. It is definitely not the same. When we arrived, only a few tables were taken. Then more people came in. We waited for a long time before anyone came to take our order. Then I noticed that the people who arrived before us were all waiting for their food to arrive. Everything was moving very slowly. When our entrees finally arrived, they were just so-so. Honestly, they were nothing remarkable and definitely not worth the price. I'm not sure what happened but it was a whole different vibe. We should have gone with the other yelp options I bookmarked. We came here out of convenience because we stayed at the Arrowhead Resort. Maybe their dinner is better? I'm not sure if I want to chance it. read more

We sat on the patio with a beautiful view of the lake, and the food was exquisite! I had a short rib and mashed potatoes with carrots in this delicious gravy with a red wine reduction, it was fantastic! The service was a little slow, but we really didn't mind because the view was so great And I had an interesting cocktail called a Colorado bulldog. I would highly recommend it! This restaurant is in the Lake arrowhead resort and spa, which is a very nice hotel with a nice fireplace in the lobby... Next time I come up, I think I would stay here. read more

Most people shy away from a resort restaurant for breakfast being there are other local options with more rustic flare, but you would be missing out if you pass on Bin 189. Located in the lake arrowhead resort, restaurant has beautiful views of the lake with good food and service to match. Not many people in for breakfast so you could get a table immediately. Been here many times over and each time we have had a good experience. This time we came back for the crème brûlée French toast, which is a fancy treat. Taste more like a dessert because it's definitely on the sweet side but Delicious nevertheless. read more

Nice interior ambiance, service is not quick, but it is not slow. We ordered 2 mountain mule drinks and avocado and chips. The price is not relative to the quantity or quality. This is definitely a resort priced establishment. The drinks weren't great at $13 a piece. they lacked lime and mint. the avocado and chips priced at $15, chips stale, tasted of bagged quality, avocado had a bit too much lemon, not enough salt or pepper. Its only saving grace was the outdoor view of the lake. Based on this experience, it was not worth ordering more or returning for anything else. My wife and I planned a Memorial weekend getaway to Lake Arrowhead Spa & Resort. We made reservations to dine at Bin 189. The highlight of our night at Bin 189 was the incredible service. Tyler, our waiter, was outstanding--friendly, attentive, and knew the menu inside and out. Deming, the manager, went above and beyond to take care of us. His hospitality truly made the experience special. We had the filet mignon and Cobb salad--both were excellent--and the wine selection was exceptional. The view here is beautiful. The restaurant and bar manager, Deming, is a GEM! My server, Katie was wonderful. I ordered the short ribs and unfortunately, my meat and potatoes arrived lukewarm. I informed Katie and she quickly took my plate away to have it remade. It came back piping hot, perfect temperature. It was definitely overpriced, but everything these days is. How can a restaurant as beautiful as Bin 189 with the most amazing view inside of Lake Arrowhead Resort and Spa be so horrible??? Their menu is very limited and their prices are high for what you get..They don't accept any To Go orders over the phone and you have to place your orders in person. They take your order at the entrance and they seat you at your table (we picked an outside table to take advantage of the view)... Since they are so short staffed, you will NOT get your food before 45 minutes to an hour and that's for a basic chicken quesadilla, hamburger and salad...Don't waste your time calling the restaurant because you will get a recording and nobody answers... They get two stars instead of one since the employees were nice even though they hardly ever checked on us, but the view of the lake is absolutely amazing!!! Save your money and go down to the village which is five minutes (walking distance) away from the resort, and you can still have the view of the lake and eat at different restaurants there!!!! read more

I can't comment on the food, but the management at this place is appalling. I reserved a table for a Christmas Day dinner for a family of 8. Our reservation was at 6 PM, but after checking in and waiting 45 minutes with no update, the manager informed us that the party ahead of us, who reserved at 5 PM, was still dining, and he had no ETA for when our table would be ready. He was unapologetic and dismissive, essentially telling us to deal with it because it's a busy occasion. It's baffling that a restaurant would schedule reservations so tightly, especially on a holiday, expecting patrons to finish their meals in under 60 minutes. Even fast-casual spots typically allow 90 minutes. After waiting even longer, we ultimately decided to leave, returning to our cabin to start from scratch cooking Christmas dinner. I felt awful for choosing this place, as it completely ruined what should have been a beautiful and special gathering. read more

My girlfriend and I ate here tonight with a 7:45 reservation without any expectations and were actually pretty blown away! We got seated immediately and the atmosphere is really cool with a modern woodland vibe. In a claustrophobic world where everyone feels shoved together, the tables here were pleasantly spaced apart to enjoy an intimate evening - it's nice to see a place prioritizing experience over profiteering. Family friendly, but upscale dining experience does come at a price but the food was incredible. Our waitress Savannah was awesome!! We never waited for ANYTHING and we were checked up on at every appropriate moment. The manager also walked the floor and made sure every table was greeted. We got access to a nice big booth since another party cancelled, and that was a super nice gesture, it was actually my girlfriend's birthday so we really appreciated the hospitality. Don't eat here during covid times. Very bad quality food. They claim they don't have enough staff but what does that have to do with the quality of food they serve with very high prices. It just isn't right or fair to guests staying at the hotel. I waited an hour in line to order our food, then went to our room and waited another hour to get our food. And we didn't even eat it. The fries were cold and tasteless and my chicken sandwich was made with a cold stale bread. Chicken wasn't cooked good and had absolutely no flavor. Very disappointed. My kids didn't eat their burgers either and the chicken wings came with 2 carrots sticks 2 celery sticks and colorless and tasteless 7 pieces of wings for $17 So please do yourself a favor and don't waste $100 on dinner for 4. Drinks not included in this price. Hopefully we will have a better experience next time we stay here. My thing is. If I'm waiting two hours to get my food at least it should be eatable. Great food. Great view. Special recognition for the manager Demi - he helped us quickly and amazingly. I shared with him that one of my children is very sensitive to noises and sound and we were seated in a noisy section. He listened and moved us without a second thought to the wine tasting room - where we dined in a much quieter ambiance. We also wanted to recognize our server Cayro - he was attentive and so knowledgeable even though we were in a far away part of the restaurant. The food was great - the salmon and risotto was divine. We have eaten here before and the best part about it is the view of the lake when you sit out on the terrace. This time my beet and burrata salad was horrible. The arugula was wilted and it seemed like there was no dressing at all. It had an odd, kind of chemical taste, and I'm thinking they ran out of beets because there was hardly any on the salad. I could have made a much better salad myself and not paid $25 for it! Unfortunately, I doubt if we will eat there again. read more

But, it took twenty minutes for the lemon martini to leave the fixed spot that it was resting at on top of the bar and for me to ask the waitress in another area to request to check to see if that specific lonely drink was mine that I'd been waiting for. My meal arrived before the lemon drop martini, which is usually the other way around. The view and ambiance is spectacular, so I wish that the friendly service was faster! The hostess claims that the hamburger, main meal item on the menu, is the best choice. Why would I select a meal that I can pick up at multiple locations or make at home quickly. Enjoyed dinner on Xmas day while staying at the lake arrowhead resort. Old fashion was amazing to start off the night. Caesar salad was good, with great croutons and fried capers (?). Entrees took a bit long but to be expected on a holiday night. Server was attentive, helpful, and polite. Entrees were above average (miso salmon, short rib and burger) but we're a bit overpriced, except the shrimp tacos which missed the mark. Aioli sauce was an odd choice, and tortillas were a bit stale. Would return, but only if staying at the hotel. Other choices in the village and blue Jay may offer better choices at more affordable prices. read more

Unfortunately there are a limited number of nice restaurants in the area. We had a family get together for the holidays & my wife's birthday. The food was awful. Only one person enjoyed their meal, the fish n chips. Today we went back for their morning brunch buffet, hoping it may be better, with more options (& already having reservations for Christmas Eve). all the food was the same. Plain & flavorless for the most part. Also, Food was not staying warm enough in the warmers. I wouldn't complain about the price if the food if it was decent, but it was terrible. prices are expensive.. I've been here a number of times, and it is always "sufficient." It used to be far, far better - dare I say, craveable! They had a delicious burger that had lovely flavorful patty and some great toppings. Though the burger's description was the same, the bun is dry and it just feels like a frozen Sysco meat-puck now. The pan-seared salmon was mouth-puckeringly salty, and the potato quinoa bowl was really really really weirdly proportioned - it was mostly loose potato puree? Definitely a miss. I last ate at this restaurant in April of 2023. The last time I *attempted* to eat at Bin 189 was at the end of September 2023. It was a Sunday and they had changed up the restaurant's format in favor of an enormous, insanely expensive breakfast and lunch buffet catering to the hotel guests - it went ALL DAY until 3pm, which was ridiculous. We were unaware of this format change - no big deal - But we were forbidden from ordering off the regular menu or from drinking at the bar, which was sort of the whole plan for our day trip to Lake Arrowhead - we wanted to get nice and wine-drunk on their lovely outside deck, enjoy the lake view for a couple hours, get lunch, desserts, and walk it off at the shoppes at the Village down the hill. There was not a single soul in the restaurant that day, all of the indoor and outdoor tables sat vacant, with a mile's worth of food just laid out, blue Sterno fuel burning away underneath chafing dishes of old scrambled eggs and wet bacon. And yet, despite the echoing emptiness of Bin 189, we were turned away, scooted down the hill to order cocktails and sit 500 yards away from the pool in the scorching, direct sunlight. Beautiful interior and stellar views! We meant to drop in for a quick lunch and ended up having to wait over 40 minutes for our food: some tacos and a sandwich. We asked our server about 20 minutes in to please check the status because all the other tables who sat after us had been served. And the restaurant wasn't busy. There were only like 5 tables in the whole place. Then after 40 min, we asked for the manager. The only reason we waited for the original 20 was because we were going to a wedding later at the hotel. The manager brought our food out and apologized, but after talking to some other restaurant patrons it seems it usually takes a while for food. He offered to take 10% off of our bill and bring us an appetizer - never got the appetizer but he did take 10% off. Tacos were actually flavored well and the sandwich was okay. read more

Bin 189 is the restaurant at the Lake Arrowhead Resort and Spa Hotel located on the 2nd floor. The ambiance and decor of this restaurant is amazing. It has a complete bar and they serve breakfast, lunch and dinner. I was fortunate to actually meet the chef, Heath Miller, and he is very creative and always trying to make new and exciting dishes, especially dinners. We ate dinner there on Nov 8th and although the menu is a bit pricey, the food is wonderful and the experience is great. The Chef is really cool, and I got to know him a bit, and he is always looking to making new creations. They had the diver scallops as their go-to item that night, but we chose a couple of different menu items. I had the chicken saltimbocca with a Cesar salad and a shrimp cocktail for the appetizer. They were great. I didn't realize the salad came with anchovies, but i was able to remove them. lol. The whole thing was great. The chicken was perfectly marinated with prosciutto and it came with risotto. My girlfriend had the french onion soup and she said it was the best she ever had. We split some chips and salsa and they were better than most Mexican restaurants we go to, then she ended up having the 20 oz. French Bone-in Rib Eye steak with roasted potatoes. She also said this was the best steak ever! We also had the desert and had the tiramisu and the cheesecake. The tiramisu was wonderful and very rich and creamy and the cheesecake was an off-menu item that night and the chef prepared for us and it came with 24 carat gold icing and a strawberry as well with the gold on it. It was really good. I have read some of the other reviews prior to posting this and i have seen others mention the prices. If you plan to go to a high-end restaurant plan to spend money, for you are really going for the experience and it is okay to indulge a bit once in a while or a blue moon. The food was great, and I recommend coming here for the experience itself, the atmosphere, and the people. Everyone there including the bartender were extremely nice and talkative. It is a cool place to visit as well. Ask to say hello to Chef Miller. He is a delightful person! Our waiter was Lindsay and he was also superb. We also met the manager Lisa Marie and she talked to us for a little while about the restaurant and Lake Arrowhead. It was a wonderful experience.
