We both got the seasonal sangria which had strawberry and lemon and to be honest, tasted pretty much like strawberry lemonade because it was really sweet and the taste of the alcohol was barely there. It was still good. I got the jumbo lump crab benedict and I enjoyed that as well. I didn't have room for dessert so I got a slice of the pink champagne cake to go, which was my second time having it. Started with the bruschetta....which is a baguette that has been baked with mozzarella inside and then sliced. Topped with tomatoes and pine nuts. I became nose blind pretty quickly but when I walked outside and came back and sure enough it does kind of smell. Despite that, all of the food that my party had was fantastic. I went with the Reuben which was made with homemade corn beef. A client got the salmon rue an and was delighted. My entire party took home desserts that were absolutely decadent. It's been a few years since I've eaten at Biscottis but when my family came into town, I knew just where to take them for Sunday brunch after church. I knew my niece and cousins would love the crème brûlée french toast, my mom would want the sweet potato pancakes, my father and sister would go for the seafood benedict, my brother from California would crave the burrito, and we would all love the cakes! And I was right! They loved it! Several people ordered the creme brûlée french toast and I got the steak medallion benedict with a side order of the sweet potato pancakes to share with the table. Before we could finish brunch, we were already up looking at the dessert case. We tried the carrot cake, pecan bourbon pound cake, double chocolate cake, german chocolate cake, and the cake with raspberry filling and cheesecake on the bottom. In my opinion, the carrot cake was the best, followed by the double chocolate cake. But, it was all absolutely delicious. We frequent this specific restaurant and today we brought our family who were visiting for lunch and dessert. We were excited to be there until our experience abruptly turned into a horrible and embarrassing experience. "Andrew" who was at the host podium by the door identified himself as the manager. After telling him that we were a party of 10, and he saw that we had 5 kids with us, his demeanor immediately turned to an unwelcoming attitude. With numerous tables available including the 12 person table in the back, Andrew told us that it would be an hour to an hour and a half until we could be seated. He also stated the following: "You will be seated in two different tables with two different servers and have two separate experiences ". "There will be no switching seats and walking back and forth".... etc He said something else before walking way. We then was kindly greeted by the female host of the bakery who took the time to explain all the deserts and asked if we would like to be seated. When we explained to her what Andrew had said, her face showed that she was as shocked as we were. We are a large blended family and there is nothing else I could think of that would drive Andrew to treat us the way he did. Fool me twice, shame on me...fool me three times...not a chance!!! I used to like Biscottis, but I have been disappointed twice by their service since Covid. I've been trying to support my local restaurants and tip to help the service workers, but Biscotti seems to be the only restaurant that can't figure it out. In my first try, I was doing curbside to maintain social distancing. They had no instructions on where to go and no place to park for pick up. I pulled over behind parked cars with my hazards on and called in. After 15 minutes on hold, I hung up and called back. The from desk went to check and then came and delivered with an attitude. I decided to give them another shot today. Despite the recent spike in cases, I decided to cautiously go inside for pick up at the time I requested. The host asked me to follow her to the register and took my payment. I gave 20% tip in support of the service workers. No thank you, no your order will be right up, nothing. 5 minutes later, someone comes up to the bar to ask if I've been helped. I mentioned that I paid and the lady just walked away. He chuckled, and then turned around to the cubby behind his head where my food had been sitting the whole time. No apology, of course. As you can see, the food was cold, the cheese was way congealed, and the salad dressing had soaked the focaccia. Fun cafe in Avondale. We came for Saturday brunch which was great because they also offered their lunch options. They had indoor and outdoor seating as well as a bar. My boyfriend got the ham egg and cheese croissant which came with two sides. He chose bacon and the hash browns which were the best surprise. The hash browns came out in a cake making for a crispy outside and a soft inside that we both loved. I got the Caesar salad and the red pepper sweet potato soup.
