Great Dinner Out - Hidden Gem Lovely restaurant in a quaint "not that far off-strip" resort. (They are right across the street from Lawry's.) So... Mom and I love Restaurant Week because of all the great places participating to support our local food bank, Three Square. Lo and Behold... TG was on the list and with a $30 dinner! This seemed like a heck of a deal. And it was. Food was very good, Service was top notch. They were even running a Wine deal too... $20 for a bottle of 4 Foxes Chardonnay. A surprisingly really good Chardonnay (I'm not normally a Chardonnay drinker because I only really like Grgich Hills or Cakebread... yes, I'm kinda a snob that way).... but this was lovely and easy to drink... and the extra special part was that proceeds of this wine were going to Michael J. Foxes foundation. So... win-win. The dining experience was Wonderful. Not noisy, tables and booths had good spacing so you don't feel like you're on top of your neighbors. The feel was Italian villa like. The timing of the meal was spot-on... not slow, not fast. We never felt rushed but we never felt like it was too long between courses. For our entrees we enjoyed the Osso Bucco and the Chicken Marsala. Both were rich and flavorful. The OB fell off the bone and was fork tender. My CM had lots of yummy mushrooms and was not over sauced so that you could actually taste the chicken and mushrooms. We thought the portions were generous, and we took part of our entrees home. Then we learned that these were smaller portions (because of RW menu) than they normally serve! Wow! The desserts were just 'ok'. I wasn't over the moon about the Tiramisu or the Crème Brulee. I'm (no surprise) kinda a snob when it comes to dessert. The Tiramisu seemed grainy to me and the Crème Brulee while smooth was dense and heavy. I prefer a lighter, silkier version. I looked at the regular menu, and they had a nice selection of pastas and steaks and seafood. All were what I would deem reasonable. For instance, the regular menu Osso Bucco was $37, whereas if you're on the strip that's more like $55-60. Net, Net... we will totally be back! read more

From our stuffed portabello appetizer to the chilean sea bass to the ribeye, it was all perfect. The banana foster flombe dessert was delicious. I had a 20% entree coupon from staying at the Tuscany Resort, and I was really impressed with this restaurant! I was by myself so I sat at the bar. The bartender was very attentive to me even though he was busy filling drink orders and even serving other tables on a busy night. He made excellent suggestions as well! I had the tomato bisque soup, chicken Parmesan with angel hair pasta, and the chocolate torte. Complimentary Parmesan crisps and fresh baked bread along with oil and balsamic vinegar and butter spread options were also served. Absolutely everything was above average and the helpings were very large even with the steeper price. Even though the resort is not on the Strip, you wouldn't know. It's so clean, cozy, and relaxing. I definitely felt the Tuscan vibe and I would recommend to others visiting Vegas and craving Italian food. read more

Oh wow!!! Kevin was our server. He could tell I was a noob at fine dining. He kindly and gently suggested dipping the bread in the sauce from the stuffed mushrooms we got. And also mixing up the olive oil and balsamic vinegar to dip our complementary bread into. The bread was crusty crunchy on the outside and warm and soft on the inside making for a good sponge to soak up all the delectable sauces. My wife got the ribeye and said it was amazing. She even shared one bite with me. The Cippolini onion cooked in balsamic vinegar was so sweet it was very almost like a dessert. I ordered the Squid ink lobster-sea urchin taglione. It also was very good. Kevin told us that we'd come back again if this was our first time because the food is that good. The whipped potatoes were creamy and enriched with the addition of grated Parmesan cheese. Didn't care too much for this place. Expected a lot more for the outrageously priced steak and didn't get it. Expected a baked potato, mashed potato's, a veggie, something next to the steak, but nothing. Just a piece of steak on a plate. My wife ordered the salmon, Very DRY and now she's not feeling well. I've had better salmon at Applebees. Overall I expected more, a lot more and didn't get it. Very disappointing! Definitely would not recommend this place or eat here again. We kicked off a 7 person family Vegas gathering on a Tues with dinner at Bistecca which is located off of the Strip in the quiet Tuscany Suites. We started with a variety of beers and cocktails with calamari, soups, salads and stuffed mushrooms. All beverages were spot on and the starters were enjoyed by everyone. Our mains included chicken Marsala, a crazy large delicious butterflied veal chop special and a several cuts of steak. While the veal chop was the star of the mains, the steaks were cooked to perfection and the accompanying sauces were very good too. Our server had a wonderful attitude and was attentive. The only issue came at the end when our bill included a fixed gratuity due to our party size, I wish it would have been disclosed at the beginning. read more

A Tuscany mule "specialty cocktail" for 18$. It was way too sweet so I asked for a splash of vodka, the waitress gave me a shot of vodka instead and charged me for it. my second course was supposed to be a salad that never came. They realized it at the end of our meal, and to "make up"for it. Gave us two extra desserts of what we had just eaten. We added a pre fixe dinner to our Rat Pack tickets for $20 each. I made the assumption the meal would be bland and basic. To our surprise , this was one of our favorite meals on our trip. What a great ambiance, romantic mood lighting ... The food was amazing. We had filet and chicken Marsala. Best calamari I have ever had. Best dipping oil for the bread. What are the chances? We came here two years ago and had the same waiter, Bill. My wife also had the same entree--the lobster ravioli, which was excellent. I had the veal al Marsala, which came with really yummy veggies (my wife will attest to this because she ate a lot of them). My veal was "lick your plate worthy." The restaurant is very well located in the casino, it is a super short walk from the parking. The atmosphere was nice, it felt very cosy and romantic sitting at the booth. The menu has a really nice selection. We asked our server for recommendations and we were happy that we listened. We enjoyed our staffed mushrooms, grilled calamari and shrimp cocktail for appetizers. For main dish we took Sea bass and truffle ravioli. The food was outstanding, we enjoyed every bite! I also have to mention the customer service as the customer service was great and out server always made sure we were happy with the food and our experience. A+ customer service, quality and taste in food, and ambiance/decor. I was simply looking to satisfy a craving for pasta. I ended up with a romantic, high end dinner. Small details like being served various types of fresh bread from a basket, and having your entree rolled out on a cart is what levels up an experience. We were checked on often, and I appreciated how the staff took turns doing various tasks; we(and all the other patrons) weren't assisted/served by just one person. As of now, Tuscany Gardens has made the best old fashioned I've ever tasted. Not a food critic or looking to write a novel. Just go. I must admit... when it comes to pasta, I like it classic. A Perfectly salted, al dente pasta with a balanced marinara or Bolognese is right up my alley - any day of the week. It's my first go to at any Italian restaurant. Let me put it this way, if you screw up an elementary dish such as pasta, I won't ever come back. I'll also probably complain. Sorry - it's what I do sometimes. Upon entering into TuscanyGardens, its exactly what you may expect. A dimly ambient Mediterranean style restaurant with stucco, stone work and wine bottles on display. What can I say? I'm a sucker for a good Italian experience. The water promptly comes with a basket of mixed breads. My friends- they make a toasted cheesy cracker. Make sure you try it! The other bread in the basket was fresh and soft. The bread basket was served with a side of butter triangles and a small bowl of herbs topped with olive oil and a bit too much balsamic. If you're not too experienced with the vinegars, too much balsamic will probably taste a tad too strong for your palate and give you heartburn. It's a poke in the neck if you will. Service was efficient, quick and friendly. Our waters and drinks were always filled. Our dinners took about 30 minutes to reach our table and everything came out hot and lovely. Bucatini pasta cooked to al dente perfection. The Bolognese was balanced. Each bite was a hug and brought me to a small village in the Calabrese region of Italy. Honestly, it was delicious. The acidity in the sauce was toned down with a pure sweetness of someone who knows a great sauce. The Bolognese clearly simmers for at least 4 hours. It has that love you look for when you need that perfect comfort meal. Dessert was skipped by the table - not because we didn't want it. So it was our last night in Vegas after a week of the NAB Show and our pastor wanted to have some steak. I had originally suggested that we go to Del Frisco's Double Eagle Steak House since I had eaten there a few years before and had a really great experience. However, some in our party were a little cash-strapped and so couldn't really afford the prices at Del Frisco. I also could stand not to have to spend $50 just for a steak not including sides. So it was decided we'd try to locate an Italian restaurant since that's a favorite cuisine of our pastor. I was in charge and so did a quick search on Yelp and found Tuscany Gardens was fairly close to our lodging and that it had some decent reviews and a menu with a variety of items and adequate prices that would suit members of our party. I placed a reservation and we all caravanned over. Upon arriving, our tables were not yet ready so we were asked to wait a few minutes which was fine since most of us just went over to the bar across the way where they had a duo playing live music. I was then texted a message saying our table was ready and so we ventured over to the restaurant. It's a nice setting and a good place if you are looking for a nice romantic place to dine on a date. We were provided a bread basket which had a nice assortment of breads which is always a favorite of mine since I'm a bread lover. We were offered recommendations from the menu by our server and I ended up going with the Short Rib with Papardelle pasta. There was another dish called the Sunday Gravy which sounded really good and a few at the table ordered but to be different, I went with the Short Rib. Hindsight being 20/20, I would probably get the Sunday Gravy dinner next time since it looked very appetizing when it was served to some of my friends with the large meatball mixed with sliced sausages and the shredded cheese on top. The short rib was very good as it was tender but I didn't like how the parpadelle pasta noodles seemed to clump together and at least now I know Im not a fan of papardelle pasta. I'll know better next time at an Italian eatery. Maybe one could switch out the pasta noodles for something else like linguini which they probably would have been more than willing and able to do. One of our party also ordered the Nutella Cheesecake after he had a steak which he seemed to thoroughly enjoy. The cheesecake was nice and seemed a fitting end to a good meal. I was able to try a bite of the cake and have to say it is a good choice for dessert. Overall,itt was a good experience and everyone seemed to enjoy my choice of the restaurant. Although, our waitress seemed to be a little impatient and rough around the edges. She seemwd slightly displeased when one of our party didnt like what she ordered and ask it be replaced with another dish. She disappeared for a bit too so that we had to order soft drink refills from one of the bus boys. We were also charged a mandatory 20% service fee due to us having a supposed large party with 8 people. Due to the spotty service I give this restaurant 4.25 stars. I would certainly eat here again if in town but truthfully" with there being so many great restaurants and buffets in town, I'm not sure when and if I'd be back just for that reason. It was a great choice for our situation and that's all that mattered. However, if you are looking for a nice romantic Italian restaurant serving a good variety of Italian dishes at somewhat reasonable prices with free parking in a lot, then I would definitely recommend trying Tuscany Gardens. read more

My family came here for Thanksgiving dinner. We were a party of 10. When we were making our reservations, they said that the earliest possible sitting was 7:15 PM. But when we got there early at 6:50 PM they were able to sit us down right away....what gives??? As we followed the hostess inside the restaurant, the hostess said that there is a "2 hour" time limit. This was the first time I ever heard a hostess/host say that. I just thought it was classless and the fact that it's not really the type of restaurant that you would want to linger in for 2 hours...it's not really a fancy restaurant...it's just a step above Olive Garden. It's funny because during our time there, the restaurant wasn't busy at all...especially for it being Thanksgiving. I ordered off their Thanksgiving menu(about $30.00) which was a 3 course meal(you can also order off the regular menu if you wanted to). I had soup which was very good. My main course was the duo of turkey and ham with mash potato, yam, stuffing and green beans...it was good. For dessert I had the pecan pie...it was mediocre. I can't remember our waitress's name but she provided good service. They do add 20% tip for a party of 8 or more...it's pretty much standard. read more

Tuscany Gardens it was a nice surprise while staying at the hotel. My two friends and I went for dinner last week and we had Sue as our waitress. Sue is hands-down one of the kindest and sweetest waitresses I've ever had and if you stop by the restaurant you should ask to be seated in her section. We started with the calamari which was accompanied by a fantastic marinara sauce and we also started with a bottle of Cabernet wine. My two friends and I then shared the New York strip steak and the spaghetti Bolognese. We also ordered a side of truffle mashed potatoes and broccolini. GET THE TRUFFLE MASHED POTATOES, It will change your life. For dessert we got the Tiramisu and crème brûlée, both were OK but nothing memorable. After much travelling, visiting several places with not many options, a nice sitdown was in order. This restaurant is located in the Tuscany Casino, a little offside of the strip. Friday evening, after a little bit of a wait, was able to get a table for four outside. Lots of good options on the menu, yet settled for a seasonal pasta dish they had for the day (~$20) and a draft lager ($5). Slightly overcooked fusilli pasta (the way I like it), tender beef and several slices of white cheese. Would have preferred more cheese on the dish, yet the other ingredients meshed well and didn't need any extra sauce. Lager was a good choice (aside from wine) to wash it down. Service here was quick at first, then tapered off as the night went along (overall pretty busy). Liked the relaxed atmosphere and heat lamps they have outside. We were looking for a last-minute date night spot-on Christmas- and found a few open reservations for this restaurant, which is inside the Tuscany Suites hotel/casino. We knew absolutely nothing about this place, so we followed their online dress recommendations (dressy casual) and arrived a few minutes early. The restaurant is right inside of the valet entrance, by the registration desk. Reservations are recommended-it was busy- and dressy casual is definitely the vibe. I appreciate the ample space between tables- we were able to hold a private conversation and not feel on top of our neighbors- a rare treat! The hostess was very friendly- apologetic that they weren't ready, but we were early, so no worries! She directed us to the bar, where a very professional bartender immediately served us, and assured us he could transfer our tab, which is a convenience not many venues offer. They did offer a 5 course holiday menu at only $75 per person, but we chose to order from the menu. A server brought us complimentary bread, and there was both butter and a delicious truffle-peppercorn dipping sauce already on the table. Our appetizer of stuffed mushrooms was delicious- I cannot accurately describe the sauce, except yum! I chose lobster ravioli ($29) as my entree, which was just amazing- big chunks of lobster in a light, buttery-lemon- tomato sauce that almost rivaled a bisque, and a perfectly cooked pasta shell. 5 + stars for my meal! My husband had a 16 oz. medium-rare ribeye ($40) cooked perfectly to that temperature and accompanied by asparagus. Equally impressed. 4 stars only because service was a bit on the slow side. Our waiter, Anthony, was very personable and professional, so perhaps it was due to the holiday rush. I noticed the restaurant was very classy with dim lighting. It was a full house. There's a nice bar to enjoy cocktails while waiting for your table. We both had Minestrone soup and I had Filet of beef (filet mignon), and my friend had Prime NY Steak. We then went to the ticket booth to find out about dinner - turns out the restaurant was closed for remodeling but we were told we could eat dinner at the bar. The bar was loud and the noise deafening. Worse, the bartender said there was no way they could serve us dinner that night. Back to the ticket booth we went and the guy said he was going to talk to the chef. After waiting for 20 minutes while he serviced all the other customers, he marched us down to the bar and convinced the manager to serve us dinner. The hostess and manager were very helpful while we tried to figure out what would be the fastest option for a quick bite. This is a place where friendly waitstaff (and stylish - a red dice tie was in attendance) covers each others tables and makes eye contact. Mid-meal, we realized that we needed more food and the manager made it happen so that we could get in line for our show on time. The food and drinks were delicious!! Very nice place with a friendly stuff. Our waiter was Sergio, very friendly and knowldgable. Interior is very nice but little dark, but it can compete with any other fancy strip restaurants. We purchase bundle deal with dinner and show. But the menu that we had didn't have vegeterian option so i ended up eating vegetables that comes with stakes which was really tasty.
