We stayed as long as we could but the rain made us leave. This restaurant does not have a space for you to wait so we had no covering other than a bus stop across the street. We returned on our last day, and came in before 12 noon. The wait time given was 45 minutes. We snuck over to the bar area and asked for a menu. We ordered some espresso martinis, they were delicious! Another friend ordered a lavender mojito which I also tasted and it was tasty. Not the usual over bearing floral taste some lavender drinks have!!! When the rest of our party arrived they were not allowed to join us at the bar area. Which made no sense as there was plenty of room and they also wanted to have espresso martinis while we waited. We were seated in less than 25 minutes from the time we added our party to the wait list. Thankful because service once we were seated was extremely slow! Almost missed our flight home, although we were there before noon and our flight didn't leave until 4 pm. So I do not suggest going here if you have anywhere to be within 4 hours. Ordering is very chaotic, we could not fully understand the menu and the server could not fully understand us. We had a friend that pulled up the restaurant's Instagram page so we ordered based off pictures we saw on the Instagram page. The food was amazing! Huge portions, we wished we would've shared items instead of us each ordering something. We all had food to pack up, it was delicious and very filling! The ambiance in the restaurant is cute, chaotic, people every where, and it was packed both days we ventured here! After eating the food we know why!! This place is a MUST TRY! Check out the photos!! Bistro Cafe came very highly recommended, and I see why. The wait might be long, but it's definitely worth it. When we arrived, we were advised that the wait would be 45 minutes to an hour. ..ughhhh! Oh well, when in Rome. We gave our name and number and waited to be called. Because you can't wait inside, and they have security at the door to enforce the rule. Bistro is very cute and Instagram worthy with a nice coffee bar set up. The menu itself is 8 pages long, a little overwhelming, but I glanced over the menu before coming, so I had an idea of what I wanted. The portion sizes are HUGE no matter which dish you choose. The presentation is wonderful, and all the ingredients taste fresh. The drinks were not too strong but balanced well. It's rather pricey but worth every penny. Our server was excellent, very attentive, and friendly. The hours are 7a-3pm. I suggest you come early. They also take your photo, and it comes with a glass frame for $20. This place is crazy packed. I had the breakfast croissant with bacon and ham and it didn't disappoint. It's a whole nother level of food compared to most places I've been to so far this trip. The food was good but did come in big portions so if you're not that hungry sharing with a friend might be a good idea. Their dishes are also very creative and different as well as aesthetically pleasing. So it's a good spot if you're into taking pics. They also have a large menu so plenty of options to choose from. 5 Stars - A Must-Visit Brunch Spot in Puerto Rico! Bistro Café absolutely lives up to the hype! It's a super cute and popular brunch spot with plenty of seating inside, perfect for a chill weekend outing. When we arrived, there was no wait--which was amazing--but by the time we left, there was a line out the door. I highly recommend making a reservation or getting there early to beat the crowd! Our waiter, Juan, was phenomenal--friendly, attentive, and spot-on with his recommendations. The food? Incredible. Huge portions and amazing flavor. You could easily share a plate if you're not too hungry. My wife had the Jamón omelette--massive, fluffy, and packed with flavor. The bread it came with was perfectly crispy and delicious. The food was amazing! We ordered the Frida, Trifongo, patatas mexicanas, and a fruit croissant. Huge portions so I'd recommend sharing a few dishes depending on party size. Come here hungry! The portions are almost ridiculously large, so be prepared to share dishes, which is what most people seemed to do. The food is really tasty and freshly prepared. I've never seen an establishment with this many options. It can be overwhelming, but you're definitely going to find something that you want. A friend recommended this place to us and it looked very promising. The staff was nice, it was hard to get their attention though since we were sitting all the way in the back corner. They have soo many options for drinks, food and coffee (quite overwhelming!). The coffee options are very impressive, I ended up getting an iced lavender latte which was delish! I think we were really overwhelmed by the food options and had no idea what to order. We got some recommendations and the food was good BUT THE PORTIONS ARE HUGE!! Highly recommend having a reservation! This place was jumping jumping! Thankfully we got there a few minutes after they opened and were able to be seated at the bar once a few others left. There was about a 25 to 30 minute. Wait if we wanted a table but since we did not have that much time because we were headed to the airport, the hostess allowed us to sit at the bar once the two people that were there left because they only had one person serving the bar area, which made sense so that they did not sit too many people there! Lordamercy! This place is worth all the hype and then some! My friend and I came here for our final brunch while in Puerto Rico (and San Juan) last Thursday. The ratings and reviews were high so I knew I'd have to give Bistro Cafe a try. I'm so glad that I did! First of all, there may be a wait depending on what time you arrive. We had a 20 minute wait and arrived a little after 10am. By the time, our name was called, the wait outside was even more jampacked. The menu is EXTENSIVE! It's the largest breakfast/brunch menu I've seen anywhere else. Everything sounds great, which also makes it hard to choose. Our waitress was very patient, but repeatedly advised that looking at pictures is the best way to choose from the menu. I ended up getting the passionfruit (elevated) mimosa, mocha frio, and the steak and shrimp omellete with a mini fruit waffle. My friend also got the mimosa and the waffle sliders. Everything was fantastic! The drinks were good and were great for the gram. The portions of both dishes were HUGE! Everything had wonderful flavor, but I think I have to give the award to my friend's waffle sliders. They were delicious. She could only eat one. My waffle was a little dry, but still had great flavor and the fruit was very fresh. The meal was not the cheapest as our mimosas (with the popsicles inside) and my mocha frio, made my bill rather high, but I have no regrets! The meal was one of our favorites while exploring San Juan, and Puerto Rico. Do yourself a favor, and go to this place! It's well worth the bill, well worth the wait, and well worth the trip! Luckily we beat the crowd and got to our table fast. Parking is a hit or miss. The menu is extensive with a variety of food. Once we made our choices, we seen many delicious looking coffees and entrees being served. It did take a bit for our order to be ready but the place was crowded. This place is definitely worth the attention it gets. I've been to their Miami location and we were very impressed with both the food and the service. The drinks, especially the cocktails, are fun and creative. It's a very trendy spot. The Puerto Rico location is probably the smallest of their locations and it gets incredibly busy, so I recommend going early when they open or during the week (Monday through Wednesday). We tried to go on a Sunday and were told there would be a 1.5-hour wait. We went on a Tuesday around 9 am and waited 20 minutes, as quoted by the host. In Miami, I was a big fan of their blueberry mojito, coquito pancakes, and Montreal skillet. At the Isla Verde location, I tried their pistachio iced latte, gitanas pancakes (with guava and cheese), and Gaucho pancakes. The portion sizes are very generous and filling. The food was fantastic. The pancakes were a hit--sweet and tart enough that I didn't need to use the provided syrup. The iced latte was fancy and not too sweet, despite the toppings. A word of advice: check their Instagram. They are very active there, often posting their dishes and specials, so it's like a second menu. Our waitress, whose name I unfortunately don't remember, was very kind and patient with our table. She checked on us regularly and took her time to explain the dishes. The service was top-notch. There was a mistake with one dish that was supposed to be without cheese, but it was quickly corrected without much wait. The restaurant was really nice and safe there was a lot of tables and chairs, tables for parties, tables for two people they also have a bar section as well. I had planned on leaving five stars. But the fact of the matter is that we've been waiting for over an hour to get our food. It was a 30 minute wait which again I had said wasn't too bad. But since being seated which was over 45 minutes ago, we still do not have our food. Apparently they mixed our order up with another table. I got the blueberry margarita, it was tasty but I'm not sure how much alcohol was put in there. This cafe is delicious every plate is very big , definitely worth the price. Even the croissant Was stacked. Just that wait was awful. I ordered the pebble rancheros with steak and chorizo and it was very filling. I'm sure it was just a mixup with the tables but to have to wait an hour for food that was just a lot unfortunately. But I would still see to give this place a try .
